this is not the trip. We left the harbor at 9am, and arrived off-shore of Waikiki beach, learned about the required life-preservers while snorkeling, and got into the water.
There was no visibility. The life guard said that "the water was totally clear right before that (an adjacent) boat showed up", but the water was unclear everywhere I swam, between both boats, beyond where the boats had been, the other sides of each boat... No visibility anywhere. Could not see anything underwater. The other staff person in the water with us (Amy) said that the tide was changing, so that's why the water was so very cloudy. The captain (Johnny) said that the wind stirred the water up, so that's why we couldn't see anything. Captain also said that we could not try another location for better visibility. Disappointing trip.
