About a month ago, I made a reservation and participated in a tour that picked us up around 7 AM. Until we were picked up, I was worried about whether we would actually meet, but the Japanese guide came to greet us, which put me at ease.
There were four of us in total: the two of us and another couple on their honeymoon, so we were able to snorkel comfortably.

The sea was very beautiful, the fish were not afraid of humans, and we even encountered two sea turtles. It was a wonderful experience that moved me! I would love to participate again.

Since it was the first snorkeling experience for all four of us, I think it was a good decision to have a guide. It requires more physical strength than I expected. I recommend wearing a wetsuit for those who are not confident in their physical abilities. It seems that snorkeling accidents are more common than diving, which requires a license, so one should be cautious.
Furthermore, thanks to the guides' network, we were efficiently informed about where the sea turtles were located. The guide took photos for us, so we were able to enjoy the underwater experience without using our own smartphones or cameras. Water and snacks were provided after the tour, so it might be a good idea to bring a bottle with you.

During the car ride to and from the snorkeling site, we were able to talk about various things related to Hawaii besides snorkeling.

It was incredibly fun!

約１ヶ月前に予約して、午前７時頃ピックアップのツアーに参加しました。ピックアップされるまでは、ちゃんと会えるか不安でしたが、日本人ガイドさん本人が迎えに来て下さったので安心でした。
私たち２人と、もう一組は新婚旅行のカップルるの計４人だったので、ゆったりシュノーケリングできました。

とても綺麗な海で、魚たちは人間を怖がらないし、海亀２頭にも会えました。とても素晴らしい体験でした。感動しました！
また参加したいと思うようなツアーです。

４人ともシュノーケリング初体験だったので、ガイド付きで正解だったとおもいます。
思ったより、体力をつかいます。
体力に自信のない方はウェットスーツの着用をオススメします。
ライセンスのいるダイビングより、手軽に出来るシュノーケリングの事故のが多いそうなので、油断は禁物です。
更に、ガイドさん達のネットワークがあるので海亀がいる所が伝達されて効率よく会えました。
写真はガイドさんが取って下さるので、自分たちのスマホやカメラは使わず、水中を楽しめました。
水とスナックは終わったあとに渡されるので、一本持って行ってもいいかもしれません。

行きや帰りの車で、シュノーケリング以外のハワイのことについても色々お話しできました。

すごくすごく楽しかったです。

Good points:
There were two guides, a Japanese guide and a local guide. They provided detailed support, which allowed me to enjoy the experience without any worries. I received all the photos taken on the day via Facebook.

Bad points:
The sea was a bit rough, so we could only swim in the lagoon, and the water wasn't very clear. Since we had a guide, I wished we could have gone closer to the beautiful open sea. (There were children participating, so I hope for more advanced support for intermediate to advanced swimmers.) There was hardly any time to relax on the beach.

I signed up for this tour because it was guided by a Japanese person, but it required quite a bit of physical stamina. I mentioned that it was my first time snorkeling, and after a little practice, we swam quite a long distance, which made it hard to breathe. They guided me by holding my hand, but I would have preferred to practice breathing and swimming over a shorter distance until I got more comfortable. I think our lack of stamina played a role, but honestly, I didn't feel like saying, "I want to participate again!" I believe experienced snorkelers would enjoy it, but it might be a bit tough for beginners.

We participated as a couple with our 9-year-old child. It was everyone's first time snorkeling, but thanks to Chieko, we were able to participate smoothly, both kids and adults. We swam across Hanauma Bay for about an hour, but I think it's better for slim people and children to rent wetsuits, as the body gets colder than expected. Also, for those who are prone to seasickness, it's reassuring to take motion sickness medication. We got to see beautiful tropical fish and even a turtle, which made for the best memories! Hanauma Bay was truly beautiful. I had a trauma from a previous diving experience that made my breathing become erratic, but the instructor, Fumio, kindly guided me and helped me calm down enough to swim. However, he ended up pulling me along the whole time (;_;). I was really grateful for his help (;_;).

He also took photos and later posted them on Facebook ^ ^. I brought an underwater camera, but it's nice that photos are free with this company since other companies charge for them! I would like to join this tour again when I travel to Hawaii ^ ^.

I stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki, so the meeting place was at the Hokulani hotel front entrance by the escalator. The escalator was located between the ABC Store and Quick Store, but it was a bit hard to find when I got there, so please refer to the photos!

I was taken to a place (West Oahu) that I couldn't reach on my own, and during snorkeling, I got to see turtles and schools of fish. Above all, the tour was amazing because I could enjoy Akima's fun conversations. Additionally, I was touched that Akima responded to my rather bold request over the phone, which was a highlight for me. I'm glad I asked for so many photos to be taken.

The western part of Oahu, close to the hidden spots! It was just my family of three and our guide Akima, which made for a very private experience. Thanks to Akima's explanations filled with Hawaiian myths, including mystical caves, power spots, and Yokohama Bay, I think we enjoyed it many times more. The snorkeling was also fantastic with excellent visibility, and we had so much fun that we were completely exhausted! (Akima seemed full of energy!) Additionally, Akima's open personality, friendliness, and the various information about Hawaii presented in a quiz format were greatly appreciated (the "Huli Huli Chicken" at Ala Moana Center was so delicious that I ended up eating it twice, haha). Thank you so much, Akima, for creating the best memories of this trip!

This was the most beautiful place ever. The kids really enjoyed the snorkelling here, lots of beautiful fish to see. The online booking process was simple and price was very affordable. Our driver was friendly and explained how to use the equipment. Pickup and drop off was on time. Highly recommend! Will be back to do this again!

I was able to fully enjoy Kailua Town, Kailua Beach, and Lanikai Beach all at once. It was great that I could bike around. The Bob's Pizza I had with the lunch voucher was also very delicious. I had plenty of time and was very satisfied!

I was torn between choosing a plan without a guide, but I made the right decision by going with this one! As expected from an expert guide, they were very knowledgeable about Hanauma Bay and showed us the best spots for turtles and fish based on the day's sea conditions. We were able to meet and swim with the turtles, and we encountered schools of different types of fish twice, feeling as if we were swimming inside an aquarium. Thanks to our guide, we were able to enjoy ourselves efficiently and safely, creating the best memories.

Even in summer, being in the water for long periods can surprisingly cool your body down, so I think those who are sensitive to the cold should wear a wetsuit or rash guard to enjoy it even more.

ガイドなしのプランと迷ったのですが、こちらにして大正解でした！さすが達人ガイドさん。ハナウマ湾を熟知していて、その日の海の状況から亀や魚のいそうな場所を案内してくれました。そして亀に会うことができ、一緒に泳ぐことができました。また、違った種類の魚の群れにも２回遭遇し、さながら水族館の水槽の中を泳いでいる気分でした。ガイドさんのおかげで、効率よく安全に楽しむことができ、最高の思い出をつくることができました。
夏でも長時間水に浸かっていると意外に体が冷えるので、寒がりの方はウエットスーツやラッシュガードを着用した方が、より楽しめると思います。

This was my first time snorkeling in Hawaii. The weather was the best it had been during our stay, and since it was an afternoon tour, it wasn't cold at all—the timing was perfect! My wife, who can't swim, was able to glide through the water for an hour of snorkeling with the help of a life jacket and fins, thanks to Chieko's clear explanations and teaching style. We were amazed by the colorful small fish and schools of large parrotfish and ladyfish right in front of us. At one point, Dan called us over, and we saw a sea turtle up close. It was my first time seeing a sea turtle at such a reachable distance, and I was truly moved. I think this was the best snorkeling experience I've ever had. Although I couldn't take good pictures with my underwater camera, I was really glad to be able to download photos from Dan's Facebook. Thank you for a wonderful time that I could get lost in. Next time, I plan to join this tour again with my daughter and her husband and my grandchildren.

ハワイでのシュノーケリングは初めてでした。
滞在中で一番良い天気だったことと、午後からのツアーだったので寒くもなく、タイミングはバッチリでした！
泳げない妻もライフジャケットとフィンをつけて、ちえこさんのわかりやすい説明と教え方で１時間のシュノーケリングをスイスイと泳ぐこと出来てびっくりでした。
目の前を色とりどりの小魚や大きなアオブダイやレディーフィッシュの群れ…
途中でダンさんに呼ばれて近くまで行くと海ガメがいました。
手の届くような距離で海ガメを見るのは初めてで本当に感動しました。
今まで体験したシュノーケリングで一番良かったと思います。
持参した水中カメラも上手く写せなかったのですが、ダンさんのFBで写真もダウンロードさせてもらえて本当に良かったです。
夢中になれる素敵な時間をありがとうございました。
次回は娘夫婦や孫たちと一緒にまたこのツアーに参加しようと思います。

The long-awaited Hanauma snorkeling experience was amazing! At 60 years old and not a strong swimmer, I quickly signed up for this tour because I wanted to experience it with my grandchildren. I was worried about the strong sunlight since I could only go in the afternoon, but it turned out to be a cold morning, so the afternoon was the right choice. I received a thorough briefing from Fumio and then headed straight into the sea. At first, I got some seawater in my mouth, but with Fumio's guidance, I was able to see a honu (sea turtle) right away. As I swam with the beautiful schools of white fish, I got used to it, and thanks to the fins, I felt like a mermaid! My son's family was also delighted and said they want to do it again. Thank you very much!

60代で泳ぎが苦手、でも孫達と一緒にハナウマで体験したいと こちらのツアーを早速申し込みました。午後しかなかったので、日差しが強すぎるか心配でしたが、この日は朝がとても寒かく午後で 正解。丁寧に文緒さんにレクチャーを受け早速海へ。初めは海水が口に入ったりしましたが、文緒さんの誘導で すぐにホヌに会えたり、白い綺麗なお魚の大群達と泳いでいるうちに 慣れてきて フィンのお陰もあって人魚？にでもなったかのようでした 息子家族も またやりたいネと喜んでもらえました。ありがとうございました。
