I requested a shuttle from the Hilton in Waikiki. With a schedule of departing at 8 AM and returning at 4 PM, it was perfect for leisurely sightseeing in Kailua and then enjoying more time in Waikiki. The driver on the day was very kind, as was the Japanese staff member at the Kailua shop who assisted us. Kailua Beach, just a 3-minute walk from the shop, and Lanikai Beach, a 20-30 minute walk from there, were both as wonderful as the reviews suggested, and they are fantastic beaches not too far from Waikiki. When we returned to the shop, it was just past 12:30 PM, but the staff kindly offered to take us to Kailua Town at 1:30 PM, allowing us to stay in town for an hour and a half. Thanks to their flexible scheduling, we were able to enjoy both the beach and the town. Although we were cutting it close, the four types of beer from Lanikai Brewing were delicious. The shop was clean, and I appreciated being able to use it for lunch and change in the changing room inside. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to enjoy Kailua with a shuttle service.

ワイキキのヒルトンからの送迎をお願いしました。8時出発、16時帰着というスケジュールで、ゆったりとカイルアを観光し、戻ってワイキキでもうひと楽しみするなら、最適と思います。当日のドライバーさんも、現地カイルアのショップで対応して下さった日本人スタッフさんもとても親切でした。ショップから徒歩3分のカイルアビーチ、そこから、20-30分歩いてのラニカイビーチはどちらも評判通りで、ワイキキからそう遠くない素晴らしいビーチでした。ショップに戻ったら、12時30分過ぎになっていたのですが、そこで、スタッフさんから1時30分にカイルアタウンへ送って下さり、タウンに1時間半滞在、という提案をいただき、その柔軟なスケジュール調整のおかげで、ビーチとタウンを両方楽しめました。時間ギリギリでしたが、ラニカイブリュワリーのビール4種類も美味しかったです。ショップはきれいで、そこを昼食に使わせてもらえたのも、ショップ内の更衣室で着替えができたのもありがたかったです。送迎でカイルアを楽しみたい方にはお勧めします。

I have visited Hanauma Bay on my own many times, but this time I participated in a snorkeling guide tour for the first time. They secured the entrance tickets, which are difficult to book, and we were able to enter right away. Just that alone made me feel it was worth joining the tour, but what really impressed me was the snorkeling guide. When I snorkeled on my own, I wasn't sure how far I could safely go or where to find different fish. However, during the one-hour tour, I was able to see many fish that you can only see in deeper waters in Okinawa, and I was very satisfied. The Hanauma Bay I experienced with the guide was completely different from what I had seen before. I'm really glad I participated!

If I could wish for something, I would have liked to snorkel longer, so I hope there will be a tour that allows for a bit more snorkeling time, even with breaks. I would love to do this again. It was a bit chilly, so I recommend renting a wetsuit. Getting underwater photos was also a great memory!

何度もハナウマ湾には自力で来ていましたが、今回初めてシュノーケリングガイドのツアーに参加しました。
予約が難しい入場券もとって頂き、入場もすぐに入れ、それだけでもツアーに参加して良かったと思いましが、感動したのはシュノーケリングのガイドでした。個人でシュノーケリングしていた時は、どこまでは安全にシュノーケリングできるのか？どこにどんな魚がいるのか？良くわからなかったのですが、1時間の間で、沖縄だとダイビングしないと浅瀬では見られない様な魚を沢山みることができ、とっても満足しました。ガイドの方について見たハナウマ湾は、今まで見ていたものとは大違い。本当に参加して良かったです！
欲を言えば、もっと沢山シュノーケリングしたかったので、休憩をはさんでもう少し長くシュノーケリングできるツアーがあれば良いなとおもいました。またリピートしたいです。少し肌寒かったので、ウェットスーツレンタルお勧めです。水中の記念写真を撮ってもらえたのも良い思い出になりました！

Hanauma Bay, which has a reservation system and entry restrictions, was a great experience. To ensure we could enter, we asked a guide for assistance this time. With transportation included, we were able to complete our activities in the morning, allowing us to schedule other plans for the afternoon, which is a big plus. Since snorkeling in an unfamiliar sea can be concerning due to currents, having an experienced guide made it easy to focus solely on watching the fish. The guide is also fluent in Japanese, so everyone can feel at ease. They took photos during our snorkeling session, which they later uploaded to Facebook for us.

予約制で入場制限も出来たハナウマ湾。確実に入場できるように今回はガイドさんにお願いしました。送迎付きで無駄なくアクティビティの時間も午前中で完了しますので、半日は別の予定を入れる事ができるのも大きな魅力です。知らない海でのシュノーケリングですので、個人で行くと潮流等が不安ですが、慣れたガイドさんが居るので安心して魚を見る事だけに集中する事ができました。ガイドさんは日本語も堪能ですので皆さん安心できると思います。
シュノーケリング中に写真を撮ってくれて、後日facebookにアップして貰えますよ。

I had been to Kailua before, but my wife wanted to visit a specific store, and we could also go to Whole Foods, plus we could snorkel at Lanikai, so I decided to join. We opted for bike rentals. Riding through the streets of Kailua on a bicycle felt very local and was great. I was able to take my time and enjoy the scenery that I would have missed if I were in a car. It was my first time snorkeling at Lanikai, and to my surprise, a sea turtle appeared right in front of me! I've seen sea turtles many times, but seeing one so close and in the water was an incredible experience. The only downside was the lack of shade; if you go, I recommend bringing a tent or an umbrella. Also, the snorkeling goggles weren't treated with anti-fog, so they fogged up quickly, and seawater kept getting in, so I would like to suggest improvements on that.

カイルアの街は初めてではなかったけど、妻が行きたい店があったし、ホールフーズにも行けるし、ラニカイでシュノーケルができるので参加しました。オプションはレンタサイクルにしました。カイルアの街を自転車で走るのは地元感があって良かった。車だと通り過ぎてしまう景色をゆっくりと見れました。初めてラニカイでシュノーケルをしましたが、なんとウミガメが目の前に！ウミガメは何度も見たことがありますが、こんな近くでそれも海の中で見れるなんて感度でした。ただ日陰がないのが残念、行く場合はテントかパラソルを持って行くのが良いかと。あとシュノーケルのメガネがくもりどめが塗ってないのかすぐに曇るのと、海水がすぐに入ってくるので改善をお願いしたい。

MIckey did a great job of explaining and making sure that everyone felt safe and had a good time. I only wish we could have stayed out longer.

I chose the bicycle option.
I went shopping in Kailua Town, then returned to the shop to change and went to Kailua Beach for bodyboarding.
I rode my bike to Lanikai Beach to take photos.
At the shop, I was able to rent a cooler bag, chairs, and a bodyboard, so it was comfortable at the beach.
However, even though the beach is close, it was a bit difficult to carry everything, so it's better to keep your belongings to a minimum.
I had a very enjoyable time.
The staff were also kind.

The sea at Hanauma Bay was very beautiful and truly wonderful. Although it was disappointing that the sea turtles didn't come by that day since they are living creatures, I had a great time snorkeling while watching the fish.

The guide was kind and fun, which made me feel comfortable participating. Thank you very much.

This is just what I needed. I'm not a great swimmer nor very confident in open water, and this was an excellent way to learn to snorkel. I HIGHLY recommend it! Our guide was Ashton. He was awesome! And the pictures were cool.

It was amazing to swim with so many fish. I rented a wetsuit, which I hadn't planned to do initially, but it turned out to be the right decision because the water temperature was lower than I expected, and it protected me from the coral and underwater rocks. I wasn't confident in my swimming skills, but the suit provided buoyancy, allowing me to snorkel with ease. Guides Dan and Chieko took us to points where we could see a lot of fish. They also took many photos before, during, and after snorkeling, which I really appreciated. They arranged transportation to the hotel and made the reservation for entry to Hanauma Bay, making it easy to participate. Throughout the experience, they were very attentive, allowing me to enjoy the tour comfortably and happily. I would love to join again if I have the opportunity!

たくさんの魚と一緒に泳ぐことができて最高でした。当初借りる予定のなかったウェットスーツをレンタルしましたが、水温が思ったより低かったこととサンゴや水中の岩から身を守れたため、レンタルして正解でした。泳ぎに自信がなかったのですが、スーツ自体に浮力があるので、安心してシュノーケルすることができました。ガイドのダンさんチエコさんが魚のいるポイントまで連れて行ってくれるのでたくさんの魚を見ることができます。シュノーケル前後、シュノーケル中もたくさん写真を撮ってくださり有難かったです。ホテルまでの送迎やハナウマ湾の入場予約もしてくれるので気軽に参加できました。終始、丁寧に対応していただいたので楽しく快適にツアーを楽しむことができました。また機会があれば参加したいです！

I participated in the initial practice for snorkeling because I was anxious about going out to sea the next day. Since it was my first experience with snorkeling, the calm waves made it a great place for beginners. All the instructions were in English. They explained how to put on the gear, how to breathe, and the precautions. After that, we practiced in an area where we couldn't touch the bottom. It was mentioned that there was a locker for valuables, but all participants' belongings were placed in a large box with a lock, which was mostly left open. It's better not to bring valuables.

Since it was the same location as scuba diving, it seemed there were staff members coming and going. There were only park restrooms and an outdoor shower. This time, there were two children and me, along with two Americans in our group. For those who can't swim, the instructor pulls a float, so you can hold on and practice. I highly recommend this for anyone who feels anxious about going straight into the sea.

翌日の海に出てシュノーケリングが不安だったのでの初練習として参加。初体験シュノーケリングなので参加して波が穏やかで、初体験の場所として良かったです。説明は全て英語です。付け方や息の仕方の方法、注意事項を説明その後は足が付かない所でずっと練習、貴重品ロッカーと書いてありましたが、大きな鍵付きの箱の中に参加者全員の荷物を入れる、ほぼ開けっぱなしです。貴重品は持たない方が良いですね。
スキューバダイビングと同じ場所なので入れ違いで誰かスタッフがいるようでした。
公園のトイレと外にシャワーがあるだけです。
今回は子供2人と私、アメリカ人2人のグループでした。泳げない人はインストラクターが浮き具を引いてくれるので捕まって練習してました。
いきなり海に開くのが不安な方にはとてもお勧めです。

It was a wonderful experience for beginners. Our instructor was patient and explained everything thoroughly. I liked that we snorkeled in a cove making the waters calm.

I swam while being careful not to touch the coral and keeping my face in the water, but there were few fish, and I didn't encounter any turtles. The waves were present, and since I couldn't touch the bottom for nearly an hour, I got quite tired.

ひたすら、珊瑚に足をつかないように気を付けて、顔をつけるようにして、泳ぎましたが、魚は少なく、亀にもあえませんでした。
波もあり、1時間近く足がつけないので、かなり疲れました。

It was tough to wake up early, but it was fun. I've been to Hawaii many times, but it was my first time swimming at Hanauma Bay. I was surprised to see so many different types of fish! It was very beautiful. During the one-hour snorkeling, I lost track of time. I wanted to swim more. The guide was also very kind. I would like to participate again.

Perhaps due to the approaching typhoon, the water clarity was poor, and the waves made it difficult to stay in one place. I felt that it would have been better to choose another day. However, our tour guide Dan was kind and helped my tired wife, for which I am grateful. Despite this, Hanauma Bay still offered many fish, including large and beautiful ones, making the snorkeling worthwhile. Additionally, the life jackets were of the type that you inflate yourself, so as someone who wanted to dive, I was able to snorkel without the hindrance of buoyancy, allowing me to swim joyfully. Next time, if the weather is good, I would like to sign up for the same tour again.

台風接近後であったためか、水の透明度が悪いのと、波もあって落ち着いて定位置にいられない。
これなら、日を改めたほうが良かったと感じた。
ただ、ツアーガイドのダンさんは優しく、疲れたかみさんをフォローしてくれて、感謝です。
ハナウマ湾はそれでも多くの魚と大きくて綺麗な魚が見ることが出来、シュノーケリングの価値はあります。
さらに言うと、ライフジャケットは、自分で空気を入れて膨らますタイプなので、潜りたい自分としては、邪魔な浮力がない状態でシュノーケリングが出来るので、楽しく泳げました。
次回、天候の良いときに機会があれば同じツアーに申し込みたいと思います。

These guys have the operation perfected. I recommend. taking the very first shuttle in the morning and sacrificing a little sleep to do so. The payoff will be no one in the bay and everything to yourself for the first 30 to 40 minutes. Even after that, you will still have the crowds beat.

I visited Hanauma Bay for the first time this time. Before making a reservation, I considered going on my own instead of a tour, but I was glad I chose to book a tour.

First of all, Hanauma Bay is reservation-only and very popular, so securing an entry reservation is quite difficult. Additionally, the parking lot is extremely crowded upon arrival, and the guidance is complicated, so if you don't have a decent understanding of English, you might struggle. There are also announcements regarding precautions before entry, but everything is in English, and there is no Japanese guidance, so it can be challenging to understand the content if you're not familiar with English.

By booking a tour, I was able to secure an entry reservation without any issues, and the transportation from the hotel to the site, along with Japanese interpretation and explanations, made the process much smoother. Thanks to the tour allocation, I was able to enter without unnecessary waiting time compared to general visitors.

The snorkeling itself was also very easy because the guides were very experienced and explained everything clearly. (For example, they advised me to unlock my smartphone in advance if I wanted to take photos.) While swimming, there was a guide swimming at the front, and another guide watching carefully from behind. They kept an eye out for participants who seemed to be struggling and would lead us to areas with plenty of fish, so I felt safe participating.

On the day I went, there was some wind and slightly higher waves, so the water was a bit murky, and the visibility didn't seem very high, but I think that's just due to the weather and sea conditions. Even in those conditions, it was enjoyable, so I believe it’s worth going. Even if you don't swim, Hanauma Bay is beautiful just to look at.

In my personal opinion, during the transportation from the hotel to the site, we passed through local areas that are not typically visited on trips, and the local guide provided detailed explanations, allowing me to learn about a side of Hawaii that is not just the tourist spots, which made me happy.

If anyone is considering booking a tour, I would highly recommend it.

今回初めてハナウマ湾を訪れました。
予約前はツアーではなく自力で行くことも検討していましたが、ツアーを申込んで正解でした。
まず、ハナウマ湾は予約制かつとても人気なので入場予約を取ることがそもそも難しいです。
さらに到着後の駐車場は非常に混雑しており、案内も複雑なので英語をそれなりに理解してないと手こずるかと思います。
また入場前に注意事項等の案内がありますがすべて英語で日本語案内などはありませんので、ここも英語に慣れている方でないと内容理解が難しいです。
ツアーを申込むと入場予約を確実に取ることが出来、ホテルから現地までの送迎、日本語での通訳・説明、また入場する際もツアー枠？のおかげか一般の方よりもかなりスムーズに無駄な待ち時間もなく入ることが出来ました。

またシュノーケル自体もガイドの方たちが非常に慣れていて、分かりやすく説明してくださるのでとてもやりやすかったです。
（例えば、スマホを持っていって撮影したいなら事前にロック解除をしといた方がいいですよ、など細かくアドバイスを下さいました）
泳いでる最中も先頭で泳ぐガイドさんの他に後ろできちんと見守ってくださるガイドさんがいらっしゃいます。辛そうにしてる参加者などがいないかしっかり見ていてくださり、魚がたくさんいる場所に手を引いて連れて行ってくれたりしますので安心して参加できます。

私が行った日は風があり波が少し高い日だったので海の中も少し濁っていて、透明度はあまり高くないように感じましたが、それは天候や海の状態なので仕方ないことだと思います。
そんな状態でも楽しかったので行く価値はあると思います。また泳がなくてもハナウマ湾は見てるだけでも美しい海です。

個人的な意見にはなりますが、ホテルから現地までの送迎の際、旅行ではあまり行かないローカルエリアなどを通るのですが、現地ガイドさんがここも細かく説明してくださって観光地としてのハワイではないハワイを知ることが出来たので嬉しかったです。

もしツアー申込みを検討されてる方がいらっしゃればおすすめしたいと思います。

First of all, we passed Hanauma Bay and stopped at the Lanai Lookout, which was an unexpected bonus that I wouldn't have ever seen, being on a work trip with a very brief window to go out on a Sunday. I'm very grateful to him for a joyful trip, the extra stop (thank you!!!!!), and the information he shared en route to Hanauma Bay, about where different creatures may be seen, areas of the bay, types of fish, and even local characters (yes, fish). One of the fish characters (I think a Humuhumu? but I could be wrong) was described as a chihuahua who will pester you if you cross paths, LOL! The bay is simply some of the most beautiful water and fish I've ever snorkeled in the company of. Just incredible. 11/10. Thank you for an amazing experience.

I chose this tour because it offers pick-up from both Kailua Beach and the town. The shop is just a few minutes' walk from Kailua Beach, so I was able to go back and forth twice and enjoy playing at the beach. The water is shallow, the sand is fine and beautiful, and even for someone like me who isn't a strong swimmer, I felt safe and had a great time in the ocean. The emerald green sea was so beautiful that it took my breath away. I thought I could only rent a beach mat, but I was able to borrow a chair and ended up napping on the sand. The staff who spoke Japanese were always attentive and their consideration was wonderful. I found it a bit confusing when to give tips and how much to give to whom, so it would be helpful if there were some guidelines provided. Next time, I plan to skip the town and go directly to Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach.

カイルアビーチとタウンと両方送迎してもらえるツアーが良くてこちらに決めました。
カイルアビーチまで徒歩数分のショップなので、2回行き来してビーチで遊べました。遠浅で、砂もさらさらで綺麗で、泳ぎが苦手な私でも、海で安心して楽しめました。エメラルドグリーンの海綺麗すぎて感動です。ビーチマットしか借りられないと思ってましたが、チェアが借りれて砂浜で寝てしまいました。日本語話せるスタッフさんがいつも気にかけてくれて、配慮が素敵でした。
チップを渡すタイミング、どれくらい誰に渡すか分からなくて、目安とか書いてて貰えたら助かるなと思いました。次は、タウンは行かずにカイルアビーチとラニカイビーチまで行ってみようと思います。

Hanauma Bay requires a reservation, and it's quite difficult to get there without a rental car. Additionally, there is a video to watch after entering, so it was definitely the right choice for me to join this tour since I only speak Japanese! I didn't see any sea turtles, but I was able to snorkel a lot. By the way, I participated without renting a wetsuit, just wearing a long-sleeved rash guard, but since I also wore a life jacket, I was able to enjoy it safely.

ハナウマ湾は、予約が必要であり、現地へ行くのもレンタカーでないと大変、さらに、入場後のビデオ視聴等もあり、日本語しか話せない私にはこのツアーで行って正解でした！ウミガメは見られなかったですが、たっぷりシュノーケリングすることができました。ちなみに、私はウエットスーツは借りず、上下長袖ラッシュガードで参加しましたが、救命胴衣もつけるので、十分安全に楽しめました。

Hanauma Bay currently requires a reservation to enter, but this tour does not require advance booking, and we were taken there by a guide. The view of Hanauma Bay from above is stunning, and since access is difficult, I was really glad to be taken there on this tour.

I experienced snorkeling separately and rented a wetsuit for $10. The coral might be prettier in Okinawa, but I was very satisfied to see sea turtles and fish. It seems that getting a Hanauma Bay-specific guide's license is currently difficult, so I think being taken there is a rare opportunity. It was great. Thank you very much.

ハナウマベイを上から見る景色が素晴らしく、アクセスが難しいので、このツアーで連れて行ってもらえてすごく良かったです。
シュノーケルは別でウェットスーツを10ドルでつけて体験しました。
サンゴ自体は沖縄の方がきれいかもしれませんが、海ガメや魚が見れてすごく満足しました。
ハナウマベイ専用ガイドの認可を取るのがいま難しいらしく、連れて行ってもらえるのは貴重だと思います。よかったです。ありがとうございました。

The scenery at Hanauma Bay was different from what I saw over 30 years ago; it has been beautifully maintained, with strict management including entry restrictions and video presentations of the rules. Thanks to this, the underwater environment was very clear, and I was able to see many fish and even a rare eel that is seldom seen, even by guides.

Although it was a super low tide, which meant I couldn't meet a honu, and I struggled with my goggles and taking breaks, resulting in swallowing seawater multiple times, my guide held my hand the whole time, allowing me to fully enjoy snorkeling! Thank you very much for your great support!

30年以上前に訪れた時のハナウマ湾の光景とは違っていて、綺麗に整備され、入場制限やルールのビデオ上映など、管理も徹底されていました。お陰で？海中はとても綺麗で、たくさんの魚たちやガイドさんでも滅多に見られない？希少なウツボも見ることが出来ました。
スーパー引き潮だったので、ホヌに会えなかったこと、ゴーグルとの相性が悪く、息抜きも下手だったので、何度も海水を飲んじゃいましたが
ガイドさんにずっと手を引いてもらい、無事にシュノーケリングを満喫出来ました！大変お世話になり有難うございました！

Originally, I was scared and not good at going into places where my feet couldn't reach, but I wanted to try it at least once in my life, so I participated. It was deeper and scarier than I had imagined, but thanks to the instructor who kindly spoke to me and held my hand all the way through, my dream came true. Also, it's better to borrow and wear a wetsuit. My companion was bare-chested, but their back turned red, and the shape of the life jacket straps was imprinted on it (laughs).

元々、足の届かない所に入るのは怖くて苦手でしたが、一生に１度はやってみたいと思い参加。
思っていた以上に深くて怖かったですが、インストラクターの方に優しく声をかけて頂き、最後まで手をつないでリードしてくれたお陰で、夢がかないました。
それとウエットスーツは借りて着用した方がいいですよ。連れは、上半身裸でしたが背中が赤くなり救命胴衣のヒモの形がついていました(笑)

I couldn't see any sea turtles, but I had plenty of time to enjoy snorkeling, and it was amazing! It was the most satisfying activity I did in Hawaii.

ウミガメは見れませんでしたが、十分な時間シュノーケリングを堪能できて最高でした！

The parking lot was quite crowded, but it was understandable since it was the earliest optional tour in the morning. In the past, you could go freely, but now there are strict regulations regarding reservations and waiting times. However, it was very smooth since we could go through the tour company. After watching the orienteering video and stepping outside, we saw a rainbow. The guide during snorkeling was also very good, and we were able to see various fish. It would be quite difficult to go individually, so I highly recommend this tour.

駐車場は結構混んでいましたでも　朝が1番早いオプショナルツアーでしたが納得でした　昔はフリーで行けたのに今は予約やら順番待ちやら規制がとても厳しい　でもツアー会社の枠で行けるのでとてもスムーズでした　オリエンテーリングのビデオを見て外へ出たら虹が出ていました　シュノーケリング時ガイドもとても良く色々な魚を見ることが出来ました　個人で行こうとすると大変なのでとてもお勧めのツアーです

We had super time snorkeling at Huanama Bay.
Dan is excellent trainer, very helpful and supportive. He made sure we had a great time. Took lot of pictures and shared with us. This will be life time memories.
I will advise who wants to do snorkeling do it with Dan. Blue Divers

I couldn't make a reservation until the last minute, but they were very kind and responded quickly. It was great since I wouldn't have been able to go on my own!
The waves were huge due to high tide, and I got swept away by the waves several times. Although the water wasn't clear, thanks to the high tide, I was able to see sea turtles!
I also saw a lot of fish, which was nice.
Since the water can be cold, those who are sensitive to the cold might want to wear a wetsuit.

予約開始ははギリギリでないとできなかったのですが、早めに対応して下さりとても親切でした。個人ではなかなか行けないので良かったです！
満ち潮のときだったのですごい波で、何度も波に流されました。透き通った海ではなかったのですが、満ち潮のおかげでウミガメが見れました！
魚もたくさん見れてよかっです。
体温を奪われるので、寒がりの方はウエットスーツがある方がいいかもです。

Emi and Natsue, the Japanese staff, were very kind and provided thorough explanations. The tour included a round-trip shuttle, lunch, and bicycles (for those who can't ride, there is also a bus to Kailua Town) for a full five hours. The rental of mats and bodyboards was also good. I think this is perfect for those who want to relax on the beach but also want to shop and see Lanikai Beach. It was also appreciated by Japanese guests that there were changing rooms and lockers. I will use this service again. Thank you!

とても親切で説明も丁寧でした。（all日本語です）
ツアー内容も往復シャトルとランチと自転車（乗れない人はカイルアタウンへのバスもあり）でたっぷり5時間。ゴザやボディーボードの貸出もgood。
ビーチでのんびりしたいけど、買い物もしたい！ラニカイビーチも見たい！という人にはぴったりだと思います。
更衣室やロッカーがあるのも日本人にはありがたかったです。
また利用します。ありがとうございましたー！
