It was different from the snorkeling I had imagined; we swam continuously for about 60 minutes. They guided us to good spots, and we were able to take underwater photos. Since it's a tour where you need both hands free at all times, it's better to avoid taking your smartphone. You shouldn't bring it. We even saw a sea turtle along the way, which was beyond my expectations.

I felt that the maximum of 5 people in a small group was in reference to the number of participants per instructor, but I don't think there were any issues with that.

I had a truly valuable experience! The instructor was very kind and guided us with safety in mind. Although the water was cold since we started at 5 AM, I had reserved a wetsuit in advance, so I was fine during the long snorkeling session. On the day of participation, there was little wind, and I was able to see four sea turtles up close! Additionally, I was able to see many marine creatures that can only be found in Hanauma Bay, which was truly moving.

If I were to mention one point of caution, those with weak vestibular systems may be more prone to seasickness. I recommend taking a strong anti-nausea medication beforehand! I personally have a weak constitution and took Dramamine before participating, but I still experienced significant seasickness.

Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you very much to the instructors!

There was a large moray eel, and the underwater world was a wonderful experience. I was so moved and swam with enthusiasm, and just when I started to feel a bit tired, the tour wrapped up nicely. I recommend renting a bike (beach cruiser) as an option to extend your trip to Lanikai Beach, which is right next to Kailua Beach. Lanikai Beach had mostly white visitors, giving me a sense of being abroad. Since I had some extra time, I rode my bike to downtown and enjoyed exploring like a local. The locals weren't wearing masks either. If you rent a bike, please be mindful of traffic rules and etiquette.

Since it was early in the morning, the weather was clear, and the water was beautiful, I was able to see various types of fish. Four years ago, I encountered sea turtles and seals in the same spot, but unfortunately, I didn't see them this time.

However, the couple who guided us were great; the husband spoke Japanese well and pointed out interesting fish, saying things like, "Look, there's ●●!" which made it really enjoyable. At one point, when some participants got tired, the wife went back to the shore with them, and when I got too caught up in taking photos and was left behind, they noticed and helped me catch up. However, the guide uploaded some photos to Facebook, which I was able to download for free! I felt grateful to have beautiful photos capturing the scenes I experienced.

Really well organised activity with Kaimana Tours. Our driver Koa was excellent, providing lots of insights to the surroundings during our drive there. Pickup was on time, in a comfortable spacious van. We arrived and were first in line to get tickets which was simple and organised. The snorkeling gear was great, both sizing and quality for what we needed. I’d recommend going on the 6am pickup, as by the time we left at 11, it was getting really busy and there were not many places with shade. Kaimana offer umbrellas & chairs for hire too.

Hanauma Bay is a beautiful place and the water is so pretty. The day we went, it was unfortunately very windy and the water was pretty choppy. We were able to see some fish, but the water wasn’t very clear due to the waves, but that’s nature for you! The snorkeling gear was very difficult for me. Water kept getting into my mask and it was very uncomfortable. I wish I had my own full face mask. But it was still an enjoyable time and would do it again. Our driver to the location was very friendly and did a great job. It was through kaimana tours.

At Hanauma Bay, there were long lines for both parking and entry, but since we had made a reservation in advance, and it seemed like the guide had some connections, we were able to enter smoothly. My cousin and I booked this snorkeling tour as it was her first time and she didn't feel comfortable being out in super deep in the water or in a very open area. The lagoon where this snorkel tour is hosted is great as it has rock barrier walls all around to protect it from large waves. Our tour guide, Micki was so knowledgeable and was able to tell us so much about the fish and coral that we could see. This is a great tour for beginners or families with younger children who want to try out snorkeling! Would highly recommend it!

In the early morning, the water temperature is low, so wearing a wetsuit is more comfortable for Japanese people. It was so beautiful that I wished I could stay in longer; it was the best experience.

また、水曜日のシュノーケルは前日まで入場禁止のため綺麗でおすすめですし、早朝は水温が低いのでウェットスーツを着用した方が日本人には快適です。
もう少し長く入っていたいぐらい綺麗で最高でした。

I requested a shuttle from the Hilton in Waikiki. With a schedule of departing at 8 AM and returning at 4 PM, it was perfect for leisurely sightseeing in Kailua and then enjoying more time in Waikiki. The driver on the day was very kind, as was the Japanese staff member at the Kailua shop who assisted us. Kailua Beach, just a 3-minute walk from the shop, and Lanikai Beach, a 20-30 minute walk from there, were both as wonderful as the reviews suggested, and they are fantastic beaches not too far from Waikiki. When we returned to the shop, it was just past 12:30 PM, but the staff kindly offered to take us to Kailua Town at 1:30 PM, allowing us to stay in town for an hour and a half. Thanks to their flexible scheduling, we were able to enjoy both the beach and the town. Although we were cutting it close, the four types of beer from Lanikai Brewing were delicious. The shop was clean, and I appreciated being able to use it for lunch and change in the changing room inside. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to enjoy Kailua with a shuttle service.

ワイキキのヒルトンからの送迎をお願いしました。8時出発、16時帰着というスケジュールで、ゆったりとカイルアを観光し、戻ってワイキキでもうひと楽しみするなら、最適と思います。当日のドライバーさんも、現地カイルアのショップで対応して下さった日本人スタッフさんもとても親切でした。ショップから徒歩3分のカイルアビーチ、そこから、20-30分歩いてのラニカイビーチはどちらも評判通りで、ワイキキからそう遠くない素晴らしいビーチでした。ショップに戻ったら、12時30分過ぎになっていたのですが、そこで、スタッフさんから1時30分にカイルアタウンへ送って下さり、タウンに1時間半滞在、という提案をいただき、その柔軟なスケジュール調整のおかげで、ビーチとタウンを両方楽しめました。時間ギリギリでしたが、ラニカイブリュワリーのビール4種類も美味しかったです。ショップはきれいで、そこを昼食に使わせてもらえたのも、ショップ内の更衣室で着替えができたのもありがたかったです。送迎でカイルアを楽しみたい方にはお勧めします。

I have visited Hanauma Bay on my own many times, but this time I participated in a snorkeling guide tour for the first time. They secured the entrance tickets, which are difficult to book, and we were able to enter right away. Just that alone made me feel it was worth joining the tour, but what really impressed me was the snorkeling guide. When I snorkeled on my own, I wasn't sure how far I could safely go or where to find different fish. However, during the one-hour tour, I was able to see many fish that you can only see in deeper waters in Okinawa, and I was very satisfied. The Hanauma Bay I experienced with the guide was completely different from what I had seen before. I'm really glad I participated!

If I could wish for something, I would have liked to snorkel longer, so I hope there will be a tour that allows for a bit more snorkeling time, even with breaks. I would love to do this again. It was a bit chilly, so I recommend renting a wetsuit. Getting underwater photos was also a great memory!

何度もハナウマ湾には自力で来ていましたが、今回初めてシュノーケリングガイドのツアーに参加しました。
予約が難しい入場券もとって頂き、入場もすぐに入れ、それだけでもツアーに参加して良かったと思いましが、感動したのはシュノーケリングのガイドでした。個人でシュノーケリングしていた時は、どこまでは安全にシュノーケリングできるのか？どこにどんな魚がいるのか？良くわからなかったのですが、1時間の間で、沖縄だとダイビングしないと浅瀬では見られない様な魚を沢山みることができ、とっても満足しました。ガイドの方について見たハナウマ湾は、今まで見ていたものとは大違い。本当に参加して良かったです！
欲を言えば、もっと沢山シュノーケリングしたかったので、休憩をはさんでもう少し長くシュノーケリングできるツアーがあれば良いなとおもいました。またリピートしたいです。少し肌寒かったので、ウェットスーツレンタルお勧めです。水中の記念写真を撮ってもらえたのも良い思い出になりました！

With transportation included, we were able to complete our activities in the morning, allowing us to schedule other plans for the afternoon, which is a big plus. Since snorkeling in an unfamiliar sea can be concerning due to currents, having an experienced guide made it easy to focus solely on watching the fish. The guide is also fluent in Japanese, so everyone can feel at ease. They took photos during our snorkeling session, which they later uploaded to Facebook for us.

予約制で入場制限も出来たハナウマ湾。確実に入場できるように今回はガイドさんにお願いしました。送迎付きで無駄なくアクティビティの時間も午前中で完了しますので、半日は別の予定を入れる事ができるのも大きな魅力です。知らない海でのシュノーケリングですので、個人で行くと潮流等が不安ですが、慣れたガイドさんが居るので安心して魚を見る事だけに集中する事ができました。ガイドさんは日本語も堪能ですので皆さん安心できると思います。

I had been to Kailua before, but my wife wanted to visit a specific store, and we could also go to Whole Foods, plus we could snorkel at Lanikai, so I decided to join. We opted for bike rentals. Riding through the streets of Kailua on a bicycle felt very local and was great. I was able to take my time and enjoy the scenery that I would have missed if I were in a car. It was my first time snorkeling at Lanikai, and to my surprise, a sea turtle appeared right in front of me! I've seen sea turtles many times, but seeing one so close and in the water was an incredible experience. The only downside was the lack of shade; if you go, I recommend bringing a tent or an umbrella. Also, the snorkeling goggles weren't treated with anti-fog, so they fogged up quickly, and seawater kept getting in, so I would like to suggest improvements on that.

カイルアの街は初めてではなかったけど、妻が行きたい店があったし、ホールフーズにも行けるし、ラニカイでシュノーケルができるので参加しました。オプションはレンタサイクルにしました。カイルアの街を自転車で走るのは地元感があって良かった。車だと通り過ぎてしまう景色をゆっくりと見れました。初めてラニカイでシュノーケルをしましたが、なんとウミガメが目の前に！ウミガメは何度も見たことがありますが、こんな近くでそれも海の中で見れるなんて感度でした。ただ日陰がないのが残念、行く場合はテントかパラソルを持って行くのが良いかと。あとシュノーケルのメガネがくもりどめが塗ってないのかすぐに曇るのと、海水がすぐに入ってくるので改善をお願いしたい。

I chose the bicycle option.
I went shopping in Kailua Town, then returned to the shop to change and went to Kailua Beach for bodyboarding.
I rode my bike to Lanikai Beach to take photos.
At the shop, I was able to rent a cooler bag, chairs, and a bodyboard, so it was comfortable at the beach.
However, even though the beach is close, it was a bit difficult to carry everything, so it's better to keep your belongings to a minimum.
I had a very enjoyable time.
The staff were also kind.

The sea at Hanauma Bay was very beautiful and truly wonderful. Although it was disappointing that the sea turtles didn't come by that day since they are living creatures, I had a great time snorkeling while watching the fish.

This is just what I needed. I'm not a great swimmer nor very confident in open water, and this was an excellent way to learn to snorkel. I HIGHLY recommend it! Our guide was Ashton. He was awesome! And the pictures were cool.
