I arrived five minutes early and waited for the instructor for about 20 minutes (no specific reason was given). The instructor spoke very little Japanese, just basic words like "right" and "left." However, they explained things in simple terms, so I could understand without fast English.

We practiced stand-up paddleboarding by following the instructor's lead.

There were no suggestions to enjoy the scenery, so I was just paddling away like it was a training session. (laughs)

Since it was my first time, I was quite focused, but next time I want to have enough leisure to enjoy the surroundings (^o^)v

They take photos at the beginning, but it costs about $30 per person, so if two people go, it's $60.

I didn't have the leisure to take photos myself while paddleboarding.

自分ではサーフアップパドル中に撮る余裕はありません。

I enjoyed paddleboarding in Kailua's waters, and after lunch, I rented a bike and went to Lanikai Beach as well. I had a great time.

As an experienced paddleboarder, I practiced a bit in a calm, shallow river at first. After that, I paddled from the beach towards a small island visible in front of me. It took a while to arrive because the wind was strong. The water was very clear and emerald green, and I could enjoy beautiful views from the island as well.

SUPでカイルアの海を楽しみ、ランチ後、自転車を借りてラニカイビーチにも行きました。十分に楽しむことができました。

It was my first time stand-up paddle surfing. At first, it was difficult to stand, but with the help of a handsome instructor, I was able to get on the board. The view of Diamond Head from the ocean in Waikiki was so beautiful, and I had an unforgettable experience! Next, I think I'll try surfing!

It was great, i got picked up and he drove out to the northshore, showed us around the town and then the activities started. He was very available to pickup after each activity and drop you off where you wanted to go. Waterfall, snorkeling, shrimp truck, beach time & stand up paddle board, it was great. There are other activities to pick from. He even stopped because he saw a sea turtle was sitting on the beach, so we could see it and take pics, it was great!

This tour is a great way to see and experience the North Shore from the land and in the water. Our tour guide (HC) knew his way around the island like nobody's business. He went the extra mile to ensure we had a great time. Plenty of time for snorkeling, bike riding, checking out waterfalls, SUP or kayaking AND SHOPPING! I highly recommend!

Great day on the secret beach. Although there are only a few kayaks & SUP's, the 8 of us had plenty of time on them. Beach chairs provided and we took picnic. The area to use equipment is blocked off and is a tad smaller than we would have liked. Also the area is over a reef so if you fall in the water be careful. Enjoy

In result it was great time.

I ordered group lesson staring at 10:00am with picking me up at 9:30am.
But I was picked up around 10:20am. I was waiting for almost 1hour. I don't why but I had a private lesson. Maybe he was late. It was good for me. And instructor was amazing buy. He was friendly and kind. And SUP was fun.
If he wasn't late, I would feel great at him. But I couldn't do my plan after that. I wasted time about 1hour. It's important thing. I'm sorry only about that.

The day after our wedding in Hawaii, I took on a challenge with my family! My father, who is turning 60, also enjoyed it. We were invited by the instructor to go quite far, but it was scary, the waves were really high, and I fell into the sea right away, which was tough! I got pretty exhausted, but it was an experience I can't have in Japan, and I was glad we could enjoy it together as a family on the beautiful, shallow Waikiki Beach!

Awesome day on the North Shore

I think our guides name was AC... he was amazing, had so much interesting information, made the drive to the north shore very entertaining.

First stop was Haleiwa Town on the north shore where we could have a look around and even got to try the famous shave ice. Next a drive along the shore to see all the amazing beaches and even some celebrity houses, then had a stop at the pipeline for some photos, and then he took us to see all the activities so we knew what they all were.

My friend and I chose the waterfall hike/swim, then AC took us the Waimea Bay for a swim, then the kayaking in the afternoon, and a great burger from Haleiwa Town. On the way back to Waikiki we stopped at a beach famous for turtles and we saw one on the beach. AC then dropped us off at the dole plantation - a complete surprise - so we could have a look around and try the dole whip. On the drive back AC played some stand up comedy on the tv so we could all relax and have a laugh.

Overall an incredible day!

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!

I wanted to head out to the North Shore, but did not want to sit on a stodgy bus all day and listen to someone drone on and on. The Surf Bus was the PERFECT choice since I not only got to experience the highlights of the area, but got to do some fun activities as well.

I decided to do Snorkeling, the Waimea Falls nature walk and SUP. Harry was very accommodating about squeezing in two activities for the morning section, and I am so happy that he did. The snorkeling was AMAZING! It was literally like swimming in an aquarium. I got to be in the water for a little over an hour and then I was picked up to go to Waimea Falls Park. The walk was quite easy, and if you have a hard time walking, shuttles are available for $10 round-trip at the park. I didn't go into the water since I just wanted to sit and relax, but the walk to and from the waterfall was about 45 minutes total. REALLY beautiful.

For my afternoon, I chose SUP and even though I had never done it before, I figured it out pretty quickly after the briefing from the guys at the surf store. I never quite made it to the "stand up" part of "stand up paddling", but my "sit up" paddle was just as fun and I made it all the way down the river.

With about an hour left before I had to meet the bus, I had a delicious burger and fries at Teddy's Bigger Burger and washed that all down with some shave ice from Matsumotos (lychee and strawberry YUM!). All in all, a great experience and wonderful way to see the best of the North Shore in a day :)

We participated as a couple. We headed to the shop by bus. It’s a combined office and shop, and you can rent lockers, which is convenient for storing valuables. Users get discounts on shop items, so we bought surf brand T-shirts and accessories. It’s a better deal than buying in Waikiki.

It was our first time doing stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), but the guide was kind and taught us in a fun way. After receiving a lecture indoors, we headed to the ocean! The board is stable, so I could paddle without any issues while sitting. If you position yourself well, it’s easy to stand up.

We aimed for a nearby uninhabited island, which was a comfortable distance away, and took a break there. We enjoyed snacks and water, and the guide took photos with their camera. We received the photos via email later.

On the way back, I got quite used to it and paddled almost entirely while standing. The next day, we rented SUP boards at Waikiki Beach and enjoyed it for about two hours, getting really hooked on it.

Thanks to this tour, we were able to enjoy SUP on our own in Waikiki. The lunch included in the tour can be chosen from two restaurants on the premises. The pizza was quite substantial and delicious. I chose the recommended spinach and garlic pizza, which was incredibly tasty and addictive.

They lent us bicycles, so we went to Lanikai Beach during our free time. If you have a specific goal, I think there’s time to go shopping in Kailua town as well.

This tour is recommended because you can enjoy various activities, not just SUP, making it a great deal.

室内でレクチャーを受けいざ海へ！ボードは安定するので座ってなら問題なく漕ぐことが出来ます。スタンドも立つ位置がしっかりしていれば簡単に立てました。
近くの無人島を目指すのですが程よい距離でその無人島でひと休憩。お菓子と水を頂いたり、ガイドさんのカメラで写真を撮ってくれます。写真は後日メールで頂きました。
復路はだいぶ慣れてほぼスタンドで漕いで戻ってこれました。
次の日はワイキキビーチでSUPレンタルして2時間くらいSUPを楽しんだくらいハマりました。
このツアーで体験をしたおかげでワイキキで自分たちだけでもSUPが楽しめました。
ツアーでセットになっているランチは敷地内にある2店舗から選べます。
ピザは結構なボリュームでおいしかったです。オススメされたほうれん草とガーリックのピザにしましたがコレが美味でハマる味です。

自転車を貸してもらえたので空いた時間でラニカイビーチまで行きました。
目的がある程度決まっているならカイルア市街まで行って買い物する時間もあると思います。

SUPだけじゃなく色々楽しめるのでお得なツアーでオススメです。

I mentioned this before on the phone. This was fun, but was only able to do one activity. Unfortunately the ad misleads you into thinking you can do whatever activities, whenever. You are allowed to swim, snorkel, bike ride or hike in the morning. Then you can either surf(which you cant cause it will cost you more when you never did it, apparently you have to take a lesson before using their boards), kayak, or stand up paddleboard in the afternoon. It just was a disappointment to have an expectaion of what to get for my day, then not do it. In other words, two spereate locations for the morning and afternoon activities, so majority of your time is traveling. Which is fine, but also would of have a different opinion. Knowing what i know now, i probably would never choosen this activity.
I missed the bus to go to the afternoon location, needless to say i was given the wrong time by tourist, but honsestly by the time i got there, i was out of time. One thing that is odd is the memory game, being dropped off somwhere and being picked up elsewhere. However, the people that works at the snorkel rental place, especially that young kid, clueless to his surroundings. Knew who i was & i who else i was there with in regards of the other party on the tour bus & couldnt inform me of the other party making it back. So knowing the time i had to be picked up, this kid not being observant and missing the bus is all my fault, right? So thanks for that! I had to wait for the city bus to pick me up to find out where the tour bus was to get back on it.
All in all, i only did one activity and did a lot of sitting & waiting around. Snorkeling was fun, but was my excitement was short lived with the turmoil. I had fun snorkeling, and thats about it. Oh yeah, dont worry, ill take care of that bus fare!

Great day with AC as tour guide

We had a wonderful day with AC as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, pointing out local sites and giving history along the way. He bent over backwards to accommodate everyone on the tour, taking each group to their favorite locations, running back and forth moving us around from hot spot to hotspot as we each finished our excursions. He was very professional at all times. We would hIghly recommend him as a tour guide. We had a blast! He even went out of his way to go back and find a lost article for us- which fell out of the van at a previous stop.

Neither of us had been paddle boarding before, but by the end of the lesson we were both standing. The safety briefing and instruction was tailored to us and our level of experience which was none. Both Mike and Michelle(hope that's right) were fantastic, just the right amount of cajoling to get us on our feet without any pressure. Talked about every topic known to man as we paddled about, had a great time and a great laugh too. I can highly recommend these guys and the company too as I later booked a surf lesson for the end of the week, which also rocked.

This time, I was determined to try stand-up paddle surfing, so I quickly made a reservation for my family of four. During the initial briefing, I was surprised when the instructor, Mieko, said we would be going to a nearby island and that we should bring our determination! After a brief lesson on how to operate the equipment indoors, we loaded the surfboards onto a cart and headed to the riverbank, which was about a 10-minute ride to the sea, where we waited for Mieko. This was the first test of our determination! My son quickly got into the stand-up position, but I ended up not being able to stand and managed to paddle while sitting like in a kayak to reach her. Surprisingly, my wife, who has worse athletic ability than I do and was supposed to be the one Mieko was keeping an eye on in our group of about eight, arrived first (ー_ー)!!

After exploring the island for about 10 minutes, we headed back, and I attempted to stand up a few more times on the way back, but I still couldn't do it. I didn't expect it to be this difficult and underestimated it)^o^( However, even sitting down, it was incredibly fun. When we returned to the shop, we had a late lunch and chose pizza, which was very delicious. Barbecue is also an option, but I highly recommend trying the pizza even if you have to pay for it yourself. I realized that this can be quite tough if you have bad knees, but I would like to challenge myself again after getting knee replacement surgery.

今回は絶対スタンドアップパドルサーフィンをやると決めていたので真っ先に家族4人で予約しました。最初の説明でいきなりインストラクターのMiekoさんから今日は近くの島まで行くので根性だけ持参のことと言われてびっくり！！簡単な室内での操作の仕方をレッスン後さっそくサーフィンを台車に載せて10分ほどの川辺から海に出て沖で待つMiekoさんのところまで最初の根性の出しどころ！息子はすぐにスタンドアップ体制になってましたが私は結局立てずじまいでカヤック状態の座りこぎで何とかたどり着きました。私より運動神経が悪く8名程度のグループ内で最もMiekoさんにマークされていたはずの家内の方が結局先に着いてました(ー_ー)!!
１周１０分程度の島を散策したのち帰路につきましたが帰りも数回スタンドアップに挑戦しましたが駄目でした。こんなに難しいとは想定外でなめてました)^o^(　ただ座ったままでも最高に楽しかったです。店に戻って遅めの昼食をピザにしましたが大変おいしいピザでした。バーベキューも選択できますがピザは是非自腹でも食べてみてください。膝が悪いとこれは結構厳しいということがわかりましたが、膝を人工関節に替えて改めて挑戦したいと思います。

First SUP experience...
The day I tried it, there was strong wind and the conditions were poor.
However, along with the others, we were determined and kept paddling (while sitting) towards the uninhabited island, but we lost to the headwind and had to call it a day...
Maybe the instructor understood our desire to stand and paddle, as we got a bit of an extension on our time? We were able to challenge ourselves a little on the river!
The instructor was super energetic and funny, and even delayed our return bus by an hour, which made our afternoon free time shorter!
We had an incredibly fun time!
Next time, we're definitely going to the uninhabited island!!

When I actually went to the school’s reception, it seemed that my reservation hadn’t been communicated, and I was told, “There’s no instructor.” As a result, the start time changed from 8:30 to 10:00, wasting an hour and a half of my valuable time. I had hoped for 8:30 because the wind is weaker earlier in the morning, but after 10:00, as expected, the wind was strong, making it difficult to go out to sea. The staff at the local reception were kind and provided free parasol rentals and a one-hour board rental while I waited until 10:00. I’m not sure how the reservation communication works, but I hope this kind of issue can be avoided in the future.

結果08：30スタートが10：00スタートに変更されてしまい、1時間半の貴重な時間を無駄にしてしまった。

Great day at the north beach. We chose the waterfall hike as our activity in the morning. You could have done snorkelling or bike rides if preferred. We then had free time on waimea bay beach. In the afternoon we had a free lunch instead of doing another activity such as kayaking. Saw sea turtles at a beach on the way home

I signed up for SUP. As others have mentioned, the meeting point is hard to find. I registered with three other people, and while the other members rented rash guards, for some reason, I was not provided one. Then, just when I thought the lesson was starting, it unexpectedly turned into a surfing lesson. I thought it might be similar to SUP for a while and continued with the lesson, but it felt off, so I approached the instructor, who admitted there had been a misunderstanding. Despite having properly handed over the printed VERTRA voucher, I find it puzzling how such a simple mistake could occur. After that, we had to exchange equipment, resulting in about 15 minutes of lost time. Honestly, I wanted our precious time back. The instructor conducted the lesson 99% in English. Even when I asked questions in Japanese, I was told they didn't understand. It was labeled as "beginner-friendly," but the waves were much stronger than I imagined, and we had to paddle quite far out, which was incredibly scary for a beginner like me. The instructor kept gesturing for me to hurry up as I was lagging behind, but it was truly impossible for me to keep up. I was so frightened that I couldn't even stand. If we were going that far out, I think they should at least provide life jackets. The fear of whether the instructor would actually help me, who wasn't even wearing the rash guard, in case of an emergency made me give up after a few minutes. When I tried to paddle in shallower water for some fun, another staff member came to collect the equipment, and it was a forced end to my experience. There were several instructors available, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem, but I ended up spending a very boring time. Although it was supposed to last 1.5 hours, it actually ended in about an hour. Later, I rented equipment personally at another place and had fun.

正直、私たちの貴重な時間を返して欲しいと思いました。
インストラクターは99%英語でのレッスンです。
日本語で質問しても、分からないと言われます。
【初心者向け】と記載してありますが、想像より波もかなりあり、かなり沖の方まで移動するので、初心者の私にしたら、とてつもなく怖かったです。
インストラクターに遅れて漕いでいると「早く来い」と何度もジェスチャーで呼ばれるのですが、本当に無理です。ついていけません。
足がすくみ、立つことすらできませんでした。
あんなに沖に出るならライフジャケットくらい貸してくれれば良いと思うのですが。
万が一のとき、ここのラッシュガードすら着ていない私を、果たしてインストラクターは助けてくれるのかという恐怖も重なり、数分でリタイアしました。
浅いところでパドルして楽しもうと思ったら、別のスタッフに道具を回収され、強制終了でした。
何人も手空きのインストラクターもいたので、問題ないと思ったのですが、とても退屈な時間を過ごしました。
所要時間1.5時間とありますが、実際１時間ほどで終了しました。
後日、別のところで個人的に道具だけレンタルして楽しみました。

Not enough kayaks or paddle boards for the amount of people there.
There needs to be some kind of system to check out the kayaks and the boards.
Three local girls were on the paddle boards for 2.5 hrs and didn't let anyone else use them.
