It was sunny, but due to strong winds, we were advised to do stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on the river, and if we wanted to go to the ocean, we would switch to kayaking. We changed to kayaking.

During our free time in the morning, we rented bicycles and went to Lanikai Beach. In the afternoon, we went to Flat Island by kayak.

Both the free time and the tour were a lot of fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful ocean in Hawaii! Thank you to Ryusei, Tomo, and all the staff. I would love to go again!

I wanted to experience SUP at Kailua Beach, but unfortunately, due to strong winds, we ended up having the experience on a river instead. After the SUP experience, we went to Kailua Beach, but the wind was so strong that the sand blowing around was painful. I understood that this was unavoidable. The guide also mentioned, "You wouldn't make any progress in the ocean either."

During the SUP experience on the river, the sky was cloudy, which allowed me to focus on SUP without worrying too much about sunburn. It seems that without waves, it's easier to ride. 集中する事ができました。波が無い分、乗りやすいみたいです。

あれば、海でのSUPにチャレンジしたいです。
SUP後は昼食含めて2時間ほど自由行動ですが、午後は晴れてくれたので
カイルアビーチでボディボード遊びに興じました。
水温も適度で、風がある分波もそこそこ、ボディボードが楽しくて。
ワイキキビーチとは違った、カイルアビーチの素晴らしい景色も
良かったですよ。

I hesitated about participating alone, but I'm really glad I tried it! First, there is time for the instructor to explain in detail how to use the paddle and the precautions. After that, we practice in the river before heading out to the ocean. It was clear that the instructor is very knowledgeable about the waves and wind, which made me feel safe and reassured. If you move as instructed, you can't go wrong!

For those who will be taking the SUP lesson, I prepared various things like a camera, hat, bath towel, and mat, but when we head out to the ocean, it's hands-free! I was told by the instructor several times to come with a strong mindset (laughs). The staff were all really bright and energetic, making it a fun memory in Kailua. I will definitely go again!

Along the way, we encountered a sea turtle, which was a great experience. The woman who guided us was lively and made it fun. This time I opted for a private lesson. I had the same coach as last time, and I was able to enjoy a relaxed one-on-one lesson. Luckily, I even got to take a photo with a sea turtle! I couldn't help but buy the image CD as well. Waikiki Beach has gentle waves, so beginners can enjoy stand-up paddleboarding too.

My daughters and I had a great time The tour bus picked us up on time . The tour guide /driver provided us a lot of information and history about the island, restaurants and all important sites we drive by . He was was funny too . He answered every ones questions.He allowed us enough time for breaks and photos. We had an amazing time at the Waterfall, my youngest had a foot surgery last year and she can’t walk too fast , we where having a great time swimming in the waterfall pool that we lost track of time . We had 15 minutes to make back to the bus , knowing my youngest can’t walk too fast or run my oldest said “ I’ll have him wait mom “ and took off running ( she runs track and cross country) . We had to be back by 12pm , we ( my youngest and I) made by 12:05 , My oldest daughter was happy the driver waited for us , we all were :). Then we drove to the snorkeling site , the tide was low and it was too rocky, I have never snorkel and I’m not a great swimmer, so we walked up to do some shopping and had a fresh coconut. We made our last stop at Haleiwa, the driver recommended some restaurants . The girls and I had a wonderful time , we ate and did some shopping. He was on time to pick us up . On the way back to the hotel we were tired and feel asleep. Overall we had a great time, we visited a few places and I didn’t have to drive through all that traffic I feel bad I forgot the drivers name , He was knowledgeable and I felt safe with him behind the wheel while the girls and I enjoy the activities and sites . The only reason I didn’t rate outstanding is because the snorkeling was not fun , the waves were too strong and the tide was too low , too rocky, but no one can really control that :)

The board was large and thick, different from those used for surfing. Once you find your balance, standing up is easy, but paddling requires quite a bit of physical strength, and I felt that women might need to put in a little extra effort to gain speed.

During the lesson, it felt more like a stroll on the water without riding the waves, but when I actually looked at the beach, I saw several people surfing on their SUPs, so there might be various applications for it.

Due to abnormal weather, we had to switch to a river experience instead of the ocean. In the morning, we had free time, so I explored the beach by bike. For lunch, I had a rather average pizza that felt very American, and then we headed to the experience. The strong winds made the return quite challenging, but our guide shared various explanations about the surrounding facilities and plants, which helped my 65-year-old mother complete the experience without falling into the water. It's just a shame about the weather. I would like to try the ocean on a sunny day in the future.

We understand English, but it seems the instructor found it tedious to explain, as they rushed through without much explanation, insisting we learn by doing. I signed up hoping to create wonderful memories with a long-time friend, but since it was at the beach and there was only one instructor, I can't say I felt completely at ease. The session was also shorter than the time stated in the materials. The rash guard felt like just a T-shirt, and it became somewhat heavy when wet. It's strange that there are only positive reviews, perhaps due to the Japanese tendency. While we were able to ride the waves, I have to rate it lower for the peace of mind aspect. We hope for a safe and comfortable trip.

My first paddleboarding experience, I’m 60 and my wife is trying it for the first time. There was a brief lecture, but experience is what matters most. We had a lesson just for the two of us from a teacher who spoke broken Japanese, and then we headed out to the sea.

It was quite challenging to maintain balance. Even when I finally managed to stand, it was difficult to paddle and move forward. Surprisingly, my wife was able to stand up quite easily. I’m glad we had a kind teacher.

Best way to the North Shore.

This is the tour for people who like to be on there own once they get there. This is broken into two parts morning activity and afternoon activity. You have a fully narrated ride over to the North Shore telling you virtually everything about the island. Also all landmarks are pointed out. You arrive get snacks if needed. You are then dropped off at your first activity. The falls etc. Pk up time is set you meet back at bus and your off to bike,kayak,shop or lunch or whatever. Your pk up time is set for your hassle free ride back to waikiki. All fully narrated back. Worth every penny. AC was our guide and knew everything about the island. Was the highlight of our trip.

AC was our guide for this tour and he was funny and full of information. The lunch at the waterfall was not the best and very limited. We heard from other people that the lunch at the burger place was very good. It started to rain right after lunch which cut short afternoon activities. AC took us to the Dole plantation to try to make up for the rain. AC really tried to make the day better for us.

I requested this SUP lesson because I wanted to enjoy the ocean in Hawaii, even though I had no surfing experience. The instructor wasn't fluent, but he taught me carefully in Japanese, which allowed me to paddle smoothly once we got out on the water.

And to my surprise, we encountered a sea turtle while paddling! I was told that it's quite rare to see one at this time of year, so it was a valuable experience.

One downside was that the reception location was hard to find. This time, it was at Gray's Beach, but there was no sign with the word "veltra" anywhere, so I was confused about what to do. It would have been helpful to know in advance what kind of sign to look for at the reception.

ひとつ残念だったのは、受付の場所が分かりづらかったこと。今回はGray's beach受付だったのですが、「veltra」の文字がどこにも無かったのでどうすればいいか迷いました。事前にどういう看板の受付なのか教えて頂けると良かったです。

Beach was beautiful, but it felt that the time was too short. Would've liked it longer. Catamaran cruise is included with this. Same trip if you purchase the Catamaran cruise by itself. You get two in one but it shortens your time at the beach. And sadly we were not told this, so we did 2 Catamaran trips which were exactly the same. No difference. Secret beach itself was beautiful with hammocks, kayaks, etc available.

Instructor Mat taught us kindly and patiently. The lesson was mainly in English (though he seems to speak a little Japanese), but that wasn't a problem at all. At first, when I mentioned surfing, I responded with paddle surfing (I might have been wrong in using that term), and it seemed he didn't catch the "paddle" part, so the surfing lesson began. I realized this halfway through and asked to switch to a stand-up paddle lesson, but he handled it without any annoyance. I participated with my daughter, and both of us were able to stand up successfully. We even encountered a sea turtle during the lesson, which was a lot of fun!

The experience was very enjoyable, but I was disappointed with the photo taking during the experience. I wanted more photos taken during the activity, but in the end, there was only a photo when we returned to the shore...
To make matters worse, none of the four people who participated with me were in the picture!
I had no choice but to take a group photo with Diamond Head in the background at the end...

It was disappointing...

体験はとても楽しかったのですが、体験中の写真撮影が残念。もっと体験中の写真も撮って頂きたかったのに、最後、岸に戻って来た時の写真だけ…
おまけに一緒に参加した4人が皆写ってない！

This tour was awesome! We had plenty of time to do the waterfall hike and swim in the morning, then a relaxing lunch hour, then AMAZING surfing lessons with Uncle Bryan's very capable instructors. Honestly one of the best experiences of my life!

After completing the check-in and waiting under the designated beach umbrella, I suddenly noticed that the instructor had taken a seat behind me. Are you a ninja??? The instructor was Aiza, and of course, Japanese was okay.

We started with a 10-minute land lesson by the beach, and then it was time to hit the sea. Standing up was difficult, and just when I thought I finally managed to stand, I fell into the water. So salty!!

Unfortunately, there was no photographer at that moment, so this moment wasn’t captured.

After the photographer arrived, I took on the challenge again. I somehow managed to stand for 16 seconds (photo evidence). Amazing!! The photographer didn’t miss the chance to snap the shot. Truly a pro.

Next was stand-up paddleboarding. I realized again how stiff my body is. I wanted to ride the waves, but I couldn’t quite manage it. A few times, I felt like I was riding a little bit. It felt great being pushed forward by the waves. I guess surfers must love that feeling.

Before I knew it, an hour and a half had passed, and it was time to wrap up. It had been a while since I was at the sea, and stand-up paddleboarding was more challenging than I expected. I thought it would be even more fun once I could stand properly.

すごいぞ！！　 カメラマンも逃さずシャッターを切ってくれました。さすがプロ。

後はスタンドダウンパドルです。改めて身体の硬さに気付きました。
波に乗ろうと思いながら中々乗れません。数回、ちょとだけ乗れた気分に。
ググットと波に後から押されて進んでいく感じが良いです。
きっとサーファーはああ言う感じが好きなんだろうな。

あっという間に１時間半が過ぎ、終了です。
久しぶりの海で、思ったより難しいスタンドアップパドル、
しっかり立てる様になったらもっと楽しいんだろうな、何て思いました。

We were a bit anxious about what our first surfing experience would be like since we don't usually exercise and had no prior knowledge of surfing, but thanks to our instructor, the photographer, and the waves in Waikiki, it turned into a fun and wonderful memory.

Our instructor was a cheerful and polite person who spoke Japanese. For the first 10 minutes, we learned on the beach about safety precautions, where to position ourselves on the board, how to paddle, how to stand, and where to look. The following 50 minutes were spent surfing in the ocean. Once we made it out to the waves on our own, we adjusted our position based on the instructor's guidance, who chose the waves for us. I was able to stand on the board and ride about five waves, and within less than an hour, I could pose for the camera with an "Aloha" sign and hold hands with my wife.

Experiencing the sensation of riding the waves for the first time and feeling the power of nature was incredibly moving, especially when we reached the shore! Paddling back out was a bit tough for us since we don't usually exercise, but my wife had the instructor pulling her out, so that was not a problem at all (laughs).

普段運動をしておらず、サーフィンの予備知識もない私達にとってどの様な時間を過ごすことになるものかなと不安もありつつ初サーフィンに申込みましたが、先生とカメラマン、ワイキキの波のおかげで楽しくて素敵な思い出になりました。

先生は日本語も話せる丁寧で陽気な方。
最初の10分は浜で、注意事項やボードの乗る位置、こぎ方、立ち方、視線をどこに向けるか等を教えてもらいました。その後の50分は海で波乗りです。
自力で沖にでたら先生の指示で向きを整え、先生が波を選び、先生の指示でこいで波に乗ります。合計で5回ぐらい波に乗ったボードに立つことができ、カメラマンに向かってアロハポーズや妻と手をつなぐことも1時間足らずでできるようになりました。

波に乗るという感覚を初体験し、自然の力を感じることができ、岸まで到達してしまったときはとても感激しました！
沖に戻るまでのパドリングは、普段運動をしていない私達には少ししんどかったのですが、妻の方は先生が沖までひっぱってくれてましたので、その点も問題なしですね（笑）

パドルサーフィンでは、子供たちは2・３回、夫は５・６回落ちていましたが、かなり足の筋肉を使いとても疲れた様子で帰ってきました･･･

Even though it was our family's first time, we were kindly taught. My wife, who usually doesn't exercise, still had a good experience. It's something you can't easily experience in Japan, so I recommend it.

家族初めてでも親切に教えてもらえました。普段運動をしない妻でもなんとか良い体験になりました。日本だとなかなか体験できませんのでお勧めです。
