Maui
We loved it. First timer. We will recommend to our friends. Good was lukewrm but good. Desserts were superb. Grounds are gorgeous.
I parked my car at a nearby free parking lot and walked a bit to check in at the counters of various companies (the Lahaina Cruise counter is the farthest from the free parking lot). Since I had already made the payment in advance, I just had to provide my name and sign in, which made the check-in process very easy!
Once on board, the guide shared various interesting facts about whales and provided services even before we spotted any. When the whales finally appeared, they would say, "They've come out in the direction of 〜 o'clock!" so I didn't miss anything at all. When I saw a whale jump right in front of me and got to see the beautiful island of Maui from the ocean, I truly felt that it was worth signing up for this experience.
The guide spoke entirely in English, but I found it wasn't too difficult to understand. If you're concerned, it seems you can also request a Japanese guide, so it might be worth considering.

However, with so many whales appearing, there wasn't much time to eat or drink, so it wasn't an issue (I purchased drinks before boarding). There are also restrooms on board. It seems to be less crowded on weekdays, but on weekends or when luxury cruise ships are in port, the morning to afternoon trips were packed. In the afternoon, it was quite empty, allowing for a relaxing experience. Since this was my several times whale watching (both domestically and internationally), I had no problem with the English-only communication.

We were lucky that it was a beautiful day on the water. Everything was perfect! We saw so many whales we couldn't keep up with which side of the boat they were breaching on. Our "Captain Dan" was the most amazing host. He provided a lot of insight into the whales (their behaviour, etc), the surrounding area & history, the crew on the boat and even his own life. It wouldn't have been the same without him onboard. Thanks, "Lieutenant Dan"!! Riley was an excellent bar keep and equipment manager. I don't remember the names of the rest but all were so professional and accommodating. Snorkelling on the Molokini for a newbie like my wife was a breeze thanks to ALL of them. Will definitely book this again when we go back to Maui.
The weather was nice, and the waves were calm, which felt great. I was very excited to see a whale for the first time. I heard that if it were a little later in the season, we could see even more. I requested a Japanese guide, and I was very pleased with the service. If it were only in English, the experience might have been only half as impactful. We live on Maui but decided to venture out to Lanai. This little ferry was great! I was able to book trip for 5 people fast online and confirm it within 15 minutes just one day ahead.
Weather was great and ride was smooth to Lanai. We even managed to see wails. On island we decided to stay longer and I was able to move our tickets to last ferry without any problems (there is a phone number on the tickets, they do pick up the phone fast). Ride back was in the dark but it still was fun, we got to see amazing starry sky!
We had such a great time snorkeling!! The secondary location was full of sea life and it gave more time to watch for whales. Great trip and we’d definitely go again.

The tour started at 3 am. First stop was in a store where we were supposed to buy water and chewing gum to make the way up the mountain easier. The bus was new and confortable. We arrived at the top of the Haleakala around 5:30 am and stayed freezing outside the bus until 6:40 am, for the sunrise. It was cold and windy, around 0°C... Other companies provided blankets and jackets to their customers. Ours didn’t. The view was fantastic even in that cloudy morning. It’s worth waking up that early! After the sunrise, we started our way down, with two great stops to see the view. Breakfast was served in front of golf course around 9:30 am. We arrived at the hotel at 10:45 am.
This is my second time visiting since the year before last, and this year I was able to see whale jumps twice. It was truly spectacular. On top of that, I encountered a pod of dolphins, and they showed us several spin jumps.
