I booked this tour upon recommendation from friends and family. I had moderate expectations as I am not a "walk through the farm" type of girl, but this was a favorite of my boyfriend and myself. First of, you are driven for the majority of the movement through the farm, so sandals were fine to walk in. Our tour guide Brett was very informative and explained everything about pineapple farming from planting to harvesting and distribution, and how to pick the perfect pineapple. We tasted pineapple at three separate stages and picked a pineapple straight from the stalk. You receive a free pineapple packed and ready for transport back to the states at the end of the tour and let me tell you these pineapples were HUGE. We saw the same two pack that we received for free at the airport for sale for $30. Brett also taught us how to use the pineapples we received to grow our own pineapples at home. Definitely a must go to tour if you are on Maui.

He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and catered to our needs.The helicopter tour was great. Justin was our pilot and he was excellent. The weather wasn't great so we didn't get to see the volcano. I would do a longer helicopter tour next time, it was amazing.

The Maui Gold Pineapple Express tour was amazing. My husband and I went there and had a great time. We enjoyed the tour very much, especially the part where we were brought to the processing plant. It was very fascinating to see the quality control, packing, and shipping from start to finish. We took a lot of pictures of the exciting tour of the pineapple fields too. It was eye-opening to see the process for how pineapples are grown, especially since my family is so used to picking them up from the supermarket. It was also different eating them fresh from the field--an experience I'd recommend to just about everyone. We really enjoyed being given pineapples to bring home to California as well, one of my favorite souvenirs from my trip. We ended up sharing it with the whole family and some friends, and it was definitely the juiciest and sweetest pineapple we've ever had.

A few years ago, I participated in a tour with another company and it rained, so I joined this time for a revenge tour, but it rained again. I was added to the list for a free next time, and I thought the response was good compared to the previous tour with the other company. I planned to try again the next day, but I received a call just before noon that day saying there was about a 50% chance of rain, so I decided to save the revenge for my next trip. As a result, I was able to enjoy a nice dinner in Lahaina while watching a beautiful sunset. Thanks to the follow-up communication, I was able to spend a meaningful time. In the future, I think it would be good if you could inform us of the rain forecast based on the latest local weather when participating in the tour, so we can be mentally prepared. It seems that Maui's climate has also been unstable in recent years, so I plan to try again during the high probability of sunny weather from May to August.

My wife and I were delighted to find out that there was indeed a pineapple plant with a tour on maui. We signed up and had no issues finding where we needed to go (a short drive from the airport pretty much). Our tour guide lined us out on a few items we needed to sign and we were off. We started off going right to the plant where we learned a ton of stuff about pineapples (did you know that the fruit is actually native to Brazil?). Really neat to see the whole process from picking to packing. They even give you two free packed pineapples ready to go through the airport! After the plant you go out to the fields to see the different stages of pineapple growth. You'll even get to sample some of the freshest possible pineapple you'll ever eat. Really awesome experience. Highly highly recommended.

I chose this tour because the sunset is more beautifully crimson than the sunrise, and it was simply easier to participate at that time of day.

On the day of the tour, I was worried that it might be canceled due to the effects of the hurricane, as the view of Haleakalā from the hotel was covered in clouds. However, my concerns were unfounded. As we began to ascend the mountain by car, the clouds became a thing of the past around 2000 meters, and above that, we were greeted with a clear blue sky.

By the time we welcomed the bright red sunset, the temperature dropped significantly, and I put on the down coat provided by the tour to enjoy the breathtaking view.

At this point, the other tour guests had disappeared, leaving just us at the summit. The second part of the tour was about to begin. Our guide, Mr. Yamauchi, had advised us not to look at the sky, and I understood why. The night sky was filled with stars, the Milky Way, and shooting stars welcoming us. We observed the Andromeda Galaxy, red stars, binary stars, and more through a high-resolution telescope. Mr. Yamauchi's clear explanations sparked a sense of curiosity in me that I hadn't felt since childhood.

I climbed Haleakalā during the day 15 years ago, but I was introduced to a completely different Haleakalā by Mr. Yamauchi, and I was very satisfied.

ガイドの山内さんには空を見ないように注意されていましたが、その意味が判りました。
夜空には満天の星と天の川、そして流れ星が我々を迎えてくれています。高解像度の望遠鏡でアンドロメダ星雲や赤星、連星などなどを観測。山内さんの判りやすい説明もあり、子供の頃の好奇心がこの年になって芽生えました。

１５年も前に昼のハレアカラ山に登りましたが、その時とは全く違うハレアカラ山をガイドの山内さんに紹介して頂き、大満足でした。

I went to Maui for my honeymoon and, following my wife's recommendation, participated in the Haleakalā Summit Sunset & Stargazing Tour. There were eight participants that day, and I was the only man! I thought I might feel out of place on this tour. However, thanks to the storytelling of our guide, Yama P, the drive to the summit was enjoyable, and afterward, we experienced the best sunset and stargazing from the top of Haleakalā! I had an incredibly happy time. I'm grateful to my wife for inviting me and to Yama P for providing such a wonderful experience.

Although I have no English skills at all, I participated in the "English Guide." At first, I was anxious, but even if I didn't understand much of the announcements on the bus, I could somehow keep track of the time!

I was happy to have a light snack and warm drinks at the summit. There were a few clouds, but I was able to see the sunrise, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the golf course (the guava juice was too diluted with ice!). There were three options to choose from for breakfast.

I made a confirmation call after my flight was delayed, which was past 19:30. The paper said it was okay until 23:00, but when I called, I was told it ended at 19:00! I was a bit flustered, but on the day of the event, I was able to participate without any problems.

I was more bothered by the cold on the bus ride there than at the summit!

I was looking for a stargazing tour on Maui Island during our cruise, as it was my mother's long-time wish. Later, I realized that our guide, Mr. Yamapi, was featured in the "Rurubu" travel guide! The pick-up service to Kahului Harbor was very helpful.

We met up with six other guests at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Everyone was very friendly and considerate, making it a truly enjoyable tour. The entire journey was by car, taking us to the summit at 3,055 meters, which was very convenient. Although the base was covered in clouds, we were assured that there was no need to worry since we would be above them.

At one point, when we were driving through an area with eucalyptus trees, the guide let in some fresh air, and I was enchanted by the natural aroma experience. During the sunset at the crater, our guide, who has summited 2,700 times, timed it perfectly for us to see the sun setting! I think it took less than a minute for the sun to disappear.

Along the way, I experienced moments of a soundless world, feeling sounds in my inner ear. It was a luxurious moment that you can't experience in daily life. When we reached the summit at 3,055 meters, I thought I might feel the altitude more, but since we had gotten out of the car several times at 1,000 and 2,000 meters, I was completely fine.

For stargazing, there were a few clouds obstructing the view, but our guide searched for spots where the clouds had cleared. Since we had plenty of time for observation, by the end, we could see about 70-80% of the stars. Mr. Yamapi was very knowledgeable about the stars and provided two types of telescopes, which made my mother very satisfied as well!

We all sat on the provided chairs with warm tea and were able to observe the starry sky in 360 degrees. I am truly grateful for such a luxurious experience. And Mr. Yamapi's stories were fantastic! He mentioned that he wants to guide 3,055 times, so I hope to repeat this experience before then!

カフルイ港まで送迎があり助かりました。
クリスピー・クリーム・ドーナツで他のお客さん６人と合流しました。皆さん、とても気さくで気遣いがある方々ばかりで大変楽しいツアーとなりました。
全行程車移動で３０５５ｍの頂上まで連れて行ってくれるため、とても楽チンでした。
麓は雲がかかっていたのですが、雲より上を行くため心配ないとのことでした。
途中、ユーカリが生えているところで車内に外気を入れてくださった時は、天然のアロマ体験だぁ～と香りに酔いました。
火口でのサンセットでは、さすが２７００回登頂されてらっしゃるガイドさんだけあり、太陽が沈む姿を絶妙なタイミングで見ることができました！沈むまで１分かからなかったと思います。
途中、何度か音のない世界、内耳で感じる音を体験をしました。日常では出来ない贅沢な瞬間です。
３０５５ｍ山頂に着いた時に、もう少し酸素を薄く感じるかと思いましたが、１０００ｍ台、２０００ｍ台、と何度か降車したためか、全く大丈夫でした。
星空観測にあたり少し雲が邪魔していたため、雲がはけている場所を探してくださり、
観測時間がたっぷり用意されていたため、最後は７～８割まで見えるようになりました。
ガイドの山Ｐさんは、とても星に詳しく、望遠鏡も２種用意してくださり、一緒に参加した母も大満足で良かったです！
皆で温かいお茶とともに、用意されたイスに座り、３６０度満天の星空を観測でき、本当に贅沢な時間を過ごさせて頂き感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
そして、山Ｐさんのお話も最高でした！
３０５５ｍにちなみ３０５５回はガイドしたいとおっしゃっていたので、それまでにまたリピートできたらと思います！

Wow! What a Day!

I will be forever grateful that a friend talked me out of renting a car and driving the Road to Hana. We are not spring chickens and weren't sure how we would like a helicopter trip to Hana with a road trip back to the cruise port in a 6-passenger luxury van. We knew we didn't want to do a 12-hour bus ride (cruise excursion) but we didn't want to miss Hana.

THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO DO IT!

We thoroughly enjoyed the helicopter flight to Hana and were able to see from the air the majesty of the island which would not have been as apparent from the land. Then we had a delicious lunch on the beach (provided by our tour guide, Surfer Sue) and experienced in all it's surface beauty, the road to Hana. There is no way we could have enjoyed this nearly as much had we driven both directions and certainly not at all had I decided to drive it myself. Sue taught me more about Hawaiian native flora and fauna than I would have learned in weeks on my own.

Because we wanted to make so many photo stops on the way back to port, we returned later than expected. Sue was kind enough to call the folks at Blue Hawaii Helicopters and ask them to send some articles we had purchased that morning and left behind at the shop for convenience sake, to us at the cruise port. No worries!

We could not have enjoyed this excursion any better than we did! Above and beyond treatment at every turn. Highly recommend for all ages.

With Takae's energetic, bright, and pleasant guidance, and the heartfelt hospitality from Yamapee, it was a unique experience that you can't find anywhere else. They skillfully selected the best locations and timings based on the weather conditions, providing comfortable seating with blankets, and not only explanations of the sunset and starry sky but also touching words that resonate deeply... And the emotional moments brought tears to my eyes☆ It was a cleansing experience that made me feel truly connected to nature! I definitely want to go again. It would be a shame not to join this tour when you visit Maui!! Thank you so much♪

Nice but not great

The tour guide was great, friendly, informative and overall a nice guy. The tour was too much for what we received. The trek was moderate which was just right for us but the foliage was only fair. Also It was not helpful that this was a dry season, so waterfalls were not at their best. I wish I knew this before hand. At every stop were too many other people, locals and tourist. Lunch was meager, only sandwich and chips and water. Sandwich was pretty decent. If it was not for our great tour guide who was funny and knowledgeable, I would not have been happy. It was overpriced.

I highly recommend this tour! I previously experienced the sunrise, but the sunset is so much more enjoyable! The magnificent scenery and the breathtaking starry sky are a given, but the attentiveness and lively talk of our guide, Yamapi, really enhanced the experience! While it's possible to go on your own if you rent a car during your stay, I definitely recommend this tour.

Just before seeing the starry sky, I was worried about the haze, but in no time, the haze disappeared and I was able to see a sky full of stars and the Milky Way! It was my first time seeing the Milky Way! Being able to see it with my own eyes felt like a dream. Everyone who participated in the Maui Marathon was there, and we all joined in while dragging our sore legs. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone; it was a truly fun tour.

Yamapi shared various stories with us, who were meeting him for the first time, and made me think about how to live my life moving forward. The tour was really great, but I received something even more valuable. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, the summit was covered in clouds, so we did stargazing from a slightly lower location, but it was a very good environment where we could see almost half of the sky, and we enjoyed it. Dinner was described as a makunouchi bento, but it was actually sushi without any side dishes (a sekirei bento) consisting only of carbohydrates. Everything else was very satisfying.

I met my cousins in Maui. Due to schedule conflict, my cousin, family of four, took the tour of Haleakala sightseeing adventure on Tuesday. My family was scheduled to go on Thursday but got cancelled due to the hurricane. My cousins had a great time there. Pictures they took were beautiful. Too bad we did not get to go, but we plan to go to Maui again and that will be one of the site we will visit.

It was a special experience!
It feels more like a trip than a tour.
Whether it was an inner trip or a time trip, the souvenirs from the experience were significant, and the emotions linger on.
The 360-degree sunset and starry sky are something you won't easily encounter anywhere in the world, and I truly realized that Haleakalā is a rare place.
Not only can you see the starry sky, but you can also gaze at it because there are professionals who provide explanations.
The sense of freedom and intimacy felt by the tour members could only have been created by YAMAPEE.
I really appreciated that feeling of being 'left behind' after the individual guests had returned...
The exquisite background music brought me to tears as well.
This tour is filled with various surprises, but I won't spoil the emotions of those who participate, so I'll keep my mouth shut.
It was all good, but there’s one aftereffect...
Whenever I hear "Summer Fruit" in the city, I remember that starry sky and get all emotional. Crying.

ツアーというよりトリップの方が合ってそうです。
インナートリップなのかタイムトリップなのか、参加後のお土産が大きく、
いつまでも感動が続きます。
３６０度の夕焼けや星空は世界中探してもそれ程お目にかかれず、
ハレアカラは稀有な場所なのだと実感しました。
星空を見るだけではなく、GAZEできるのはプロがいて解説してくださるから。。
ツアーメンバーが感じた自由や親密さはYAMAPEEさんしか作りだせなかったでしょう。
あの個人客が帰ってしまったあとの’取り残され感’が良かったなあ。。。
珠玉のBGMにも泣かされましたし。。
色々仕掛けが散りばめられているツアーですが
参加された方の感動を取りたくないので、口チャックです。　
良い事づくめでしたが、ひとつ後遺症が、、、。
街で♪真夏の果実♪がかかると、あの星空を思い出し、キュンキュンしてしまいます。泣
本当に感謝しています。
