Yes the water was 'crisp' but very refreshing. Th whole trip was wonderful and the guides were very experienced with handeling all on the trip, young and older (that was us). I never scraped up an elbow or ankle with their instructions and if it is going to happen to anyone, it would be me.
WONDERFUL TIME!

We have visited most of the Hawaian islands and attended many Luau's, but this one was the best by far. The grounds were awsome, the food & drinks were incredable and the entertainment was the best. We loved the covered eating area and show. It rained several times while we were there and never got wet.
Another thing we liked was the trams that took you from the check in on a nice tour of the gardens then even took you back to the parking lot after the show when it was dark.
IT WAS THE BEST!

My boyfriend and I had a really great time on this adventure. Our favorite part was the ziplining. We wish there were more lines! I'm scared of heights but enjoyed it so much I can't wait to do it again!
The kayaking was nice despite the rain. We saw a few "movie spots" during our ride down the river. Also, saw some really beautiful sceneries.
The hiking was not strenuous but there were a few times where you really had to watch your step. Also, for those very prone to mosquito bites, be sure to put it on! It was pretty windy so the guides said we probably wouldn't have to worry about the mosquitos but I ended up getting bit 6 times before I was able to put some repellant.
Overall, a really great experience. This is a great tour if you want a piece of everything.

The best part of snuba-ing is that you don't have to hover on the surface of the water, you can actually breath underwater. We spent most of our time being silly and pretending we were mermaids. We had a blast. Thanks to Kevin and the snuba crew!

When I found out that parts of Jurassic Park were filmed on Kauai I had to visit the film locations. The tour guide was very informative and showed us movie clips to refresh our memory of what the scene looked like in the movie. The scenery of Kauai is just stunning, and you can see why people filmed at these locations.

Soaring above the forest on a zipline will make you feel like Tarzan! The forest that the zipline is located in is very lush and scenic. Going on a zipline is a guaranteed way to get your adrenaline fix. They also have a zipline that allows you to jump into the water in a unique and exciting way.

This was an awesome experience even though the weather did not cooperate and we could not go to Niihau. Due to the tradewinds and some seriously rough seas we could not make the trip to Niihau. We found the crew very pleasant and accommodating. The views were incredible and we were able to take in an amazing whale watching session. As noted by the several this is more of a summer time tour because the weather and seas are more predictable. I believe we missed out on a bunch by not going to Niihau but the whale experience made up for it. The large boat size provides plenty of room so it's not real crowded. We saw other boats on similar trips and they appeared to be more crowded. We would HIGHLY recommend this trip.
It's wonderful to hear that, although there were alterations to the original tour route, you thoroughly enjoyed your time on the water and the overall experience! Thank you so much for joining us and for sharing your great review! Mahalo and Aloha

My boyfriend and I, plus another couple, had a fabulous day on Kipu Ranch with Kimo as our guide. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and a small group, both of which probably made the whole thing more fun. Kimo stressed safety, but we had plenty of opportunities to open our Rhino up a bit as well, and lots of bumpy terrain and hills to enjoy. He also shared great history about the area, and pointed out plenty of interesting plant and animal life. And the views! They are truly spectacular. Swimming in the river was a lot of fun, as was swimming in the pool at the waterfall. I recommend reapplying the bug spray as you're getting ready to swim, as the mosquitoes only seemed bad at the waterfall. To top it all off, lunch was delicious. After a morning of riding, it was a real treat to eat lunch outdoors in the sunshine with a small stream nearby. We would definitely do this again and would recommend it to almost anyone.

We absolutely loved this outing! It was a little bit of everything. The view from the kayak was amazing and the hikes are no where near as strenuous as they note. The ziplines were more than we expected. There are two zips and the final one being tandem and nearly 1800'. Awesome!! The guides were extremely friendly and make the experience enjoyable and informational. We will definitely do this trip again!!

Food at the Luau was excellent and the show was outstanding. I was amazed at how many of the guest were return visitors. The Smith family do own a piece of paradise.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this event - it wasn't only a Luau, but you learned of the culture, flora, and food. The food was OUTSTANDING! The hosts gave a thorough description of the foods, and how to eat them. The pig was very juicy, and salted to perfection. And even though the Poi was bland (as it should be), it had a distinctive and very interesting taste that perked our senses. The free mai-tais didn't hurt either! : )
The show ran a bit longer than we expected, but after a few drinks, it may have just seemed longer. The quality of dance, special effects, and entertainment was high, and the fire dude rocked the house (one of the best we've seen).
Mahalo Smith's!

Spectacular setting! I've been to many luaus before and this one has the best scenery. Well organized and excellent food! I was slightly disappointed in the show as it was lower energy than others I've attended. I didn't like the way they captured ALL the cultures (Chinese, Japanese, Phillipines) as I felt it brought the energy of the entire show down and removed itself from being "Hawaiian". Over all though - we had a great time.

The entertainment during dinner was continuious. We even had a couple get engaged after the hula class. Very sweet. The bar service was fast and the special drinks well prepared.
The entertainment was very professional and varied dances form the different pacific islands. The special effects were just great.
Would we go back. In a heart beat.
