So glad we chose Haleiwa Shark Tours/Three Local Boys! Only had six people on boat and cage held six people! We never had to get out of cage! Saw between 10-20 sharks, hard to tell exactly because there was ALWAYS 4-6 in view! The captain and his mate, terrible at names but think Captain was Chris, both very knowledge about history of island and pointed them out as we were going to drop spot. Felt very comfortable in cage - anybody can do this! I'd love to back tomorrow, but we are leaving. HIGHLY recommend Haleiwa Shark Tours

The crew was sensational! I loved their friendliness, easy-going American attitude and care for their passengers.
We loved the afternoon and were fortunate to see some wildlife.
Highly recommended.

We went for the shark cage adventure on 1st September. It was one of the most terrifying thing we were doing before we started.
The boat was easy to spot, and the best part they waited for us as we got a little late due to road closures. Thumbs up for veltra and the excursion team to work with us on this and keeping us feeling relaxed.
Pro tip: road closures in oahu are really bad, keep more than usual buffer time for your travel.
The boat ride was really choppy, as we were already informed that there were very high waves. The ride could have been slowed down a little(my wife puked due to sea sickness)
Once at the site, we went down in the cage, and after initial jitters of maybe a minute, you start feeling better and safe. So all the folks who are afraid to do so, please just get in the cage, I promise it gets better.
Waters here were again choppy, meaning we were constantly bumping with cage or someone else.
The.good part was we could see multiple galapego sharks, they are magnificent creatures. We saw two upclose and they were big(7-8 feet long).
Ride back was again on rough waters and could have been slowed down a little.
The guides were ok, could have been better and maybe helped us a bit more in water and calming our nerves a little.

It was the most fun I've had in Hawaii so far.

My 5-year-old son is a bit scared and couldn't go into the ocean, but he was satisfied feeding fish from the boat and watching dolphins and turtles. It seems that those on the boat were able to witness dolphins jumping and spinning several times.

I went into the ocean. I saw dolphins, but they swam quickly and passed by, yet I was satisfied.

I was moved by the sight of a turtle swimming slowly close enough to reach out and touch.

今まで行ったハワイで一番楽しかったです。

子供5歳男児は怖がりで海には入れませんでしたが、ボートから魚にエサを上げたり、イルカやカメを見て満足してました。
ボートにいた方がイルカのジャンプやクルクル回る様子が何度も目撃できたようです。

私は海に入りました。
イルカは見えましたが泳ぐのが早くすぐに通り過ぎていきましたが満足です

カメが手が届きそうな所でゆっくりと泳ぐ姿に感動しました。

It was a perfect day with calm waves and good weather, where neither the boat nor the submarine swayed, and visibility was excellent. By chance, there were only Japanese people, so all the explanations were in Japanese, which was lucky. The scuba diving instructor was very knowledgeable about fish and provided detailed explanations very kindly. It was a quick one-hour underwater exploration.

波も穏やかな良い天気で、船も潜水艦も揺れず、視界も良好で言うことなしの日でした。たまたま日本人ばかりになり、解説は全て日本語になりラッキーでした。スキューバダイビングのインストラクターもされているとのことで、魚のことについても詳しく、とても丁寧に解説してくださいました。あっという間の1時間の海底探索でした。

Since it was introduced on TV, I had been looking forward to meeting the manta rays. I had some concerns about whether I could participate on the day of the tour because I heard from other tour guides that the boat was broken, but the boat they arranged for us was a hand-me-down from the navy? It was cool! (The boat, that is!). It's a shame I didn't take any pictures.

The weather was decent on the day, and we were able to enjoy the sunset over the sea. Since it gets cold at night, I rented a wetsuit for $10. That was the right choice. I was able to enjoy myself without feeling cold. The guide adjusted the snorkeling gear to fit each individual and provided a proper explanation on how to wear it.

I felt great floating in the sea while watching the fantastic manta rays and fish. The guide kept encouraging the other participants to raise their legs to attract the manta rays, and he quickly noticed when my husband started feeling unwell and took care of him.

Because we were scattering bait in the water, in the end, two manta rays took turns opening their mouths and spinning around. They performed a somersault right in front of the kids, which was very exciting. It was just like what we saw on TV! On the way back, I definitely felt the cold. I'm glad I brought a bath towel. The warm cocoa after getting off the boat was very delicious. Thank you very much. Mahalo♪

テレビで紹介されて以来、マンタに会えることを楽しみにしていました。
他のツアーガイドさんからボートが故障していると聞いていたので当日まで参加できるのかという思いがありましたが、代わりに手配してくれたボートは海軍のお下がり？でした。かっこよかったです。（ボートが！）。写真を撮ってこなかったのが残念。

当日は天気もまずまず海からのサンセットも鑑賞できました。夜になると冷えるからということでウェットスーツ（10ドル）を借りました。正解でした。寒さを感じずに楽しめました。
シュノーケルセットは個人に合うようにガイドさんが調節してくれます。つけ方もきちんとレクチャーしてくれました。
私は海にプカプカ浮きながら幻想的なマンタや魚を見れてとても気持ちよかったです。

ガイドさんが、マンタが来やすいように足を上げてね～、と終始他の参加者に声をかけてくれたし、
途中夫が気分が悪くなったのもいち早く気づいていただき、対処をしてくれました。
海に撒き餌（？！）をする形となったせいか、最後はマンタ２枚がかわるがわる口を開けて回転してくれました。
子供の目の前で宙返りを見せてくれたので大興奮でした。ほんとにテレビで見た通りだったね！と。
帰りのボートはさすがに寒さを感じました。バスタオルを持って行って良かったです。
ボートを降りてからの暖かいココアがとても美味しかったです。

Pick from driver was prompt and on time. Once we arrived, we were given very clear instructions once on the boat, all the staff and the captain was very friendly and once we were on our way, everything we needed to know was explained clearly.

The actual scooter came on another boat and we were told how to get in and out of it, and I have to say the experience was unlike anything I've ever done before! We were only about 10-12 feet down but it was so wonderful to be in the water and not having to worry about anything.

The divers were very very professional and attentive, very friendly and very knowledgeable, and once we were done with the scuba scooter experience, it was a nice relaxing time on the boat to either go snorkeling or just enjoy the beautiful scenery around us!

Highly recommended, the staff was absolutely great and the captain was "cherry"!

Will definitely do it again next time we are in Honolulu! Highly recommended!!

This was my first trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, and I participated in the much-talked-about night manta ray tour. I chose this particular tour among several options because the price included a wetsuit and was relatively reasonable, the boat ride to the snorkeling point was short, and there was a 7-day guarantee in case we didn't encounter any manta rays.

On the day of the tour, I went to the office to check in and then traveled to the boarding point, which was about a 5-minute drive away. There, I was able to rent a wetsuit and snorkeling gear. My husband borrowed prescription goggles. We set sail during sunset and quickly arrived at the snorkeling point. Aside from us, everyone else on the tour was from abroad, with about 30 participants in total. The instructions were given only in English, but it wasn't a problem at all. The staff members were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

The night ocean was incredibly mystical. Holding onto the floatation device and looking down, manta rays soon appeared. Over the course of about 50 minutes, 5 to 6 manta rays came by, showcasing their graceful movements. They were so adorable that I lost track of time, and everyone was super excited! My husband seemed ready to get out, but I wanted to keep watching forever. We returned to the dock in about 5 minutes, and I didn't feel the cold I had worried about at all. It was a thoroughly satisfying night.

今回初めてのハワイ島旅行、話題の夜のマンタツアーに参加しました。いくつかある同企画の中からこちらのツアーを選んだ理由は、ウェットスーツ込みの価格が比較的リーズナブルなこと、岸からポイントまでの乗船時間が短いこと、非遭遇時の7日間保証があることです。
当日、自分で事務所へ行き受付を済ませ、かなり離れた乗船ポイントまで行きます(車で5分)。そこでウェットスーツやシュノーケルセットを借りられます。主人は度付きのゴーグルを貸してもらいました。夕焼けの中、出航。すぐにポイントに到着。私達夫婦以外は全て外国の方。全部で30人位参加していました。説明は英語オンリーでしたが、特に困ることもありません。スタッフの方達はとてもフレンドリーで、楽しませてくれました。
夜の海はとても神秘的です。浮き具につかまり下を覗くと、すぐにマンタがやってきてくれました。50分程の間に5〜6頭やってきては、華麗な舞を披露してくれました。可愛くて、時間の経つのも忘れ、みんな大興奮‼︎ 主人はそろそろ上がりたかったみたいですが、私はいつまでもいつまでも見ていたかったです。帰りも5分程で船着場に到着。心配していた寒さも感じず、大満足の夜でした。

Last November, my spouse and I participated. It seemed that the boat was launched in a way that was almost a forced breakthrough despite the rough weather, and nearly all the crew members were severely seasick. The motion sickness medication we took was ineffective (laughs).

Instead of fearing the sharks, I was overwhelmed by a fear I had never experienced before, feeling like I might die due to the height of the waves and the intense rocking. It was so rough that even the Westerners on the same boat were smiling wryly.

Because of the rough weather, we couldn't see the ocean from inside the cage. We could only confirm the sharks' presence when they came quite close. I saw about five sharks, but due to the intense rocking inside the cage and the seasickness, I don't remember much (laughs). Other participants were also watching sharks while throwing up, making it quite a harsh experience (laughs).

On days with good weather, it seems you can encounter many sharks, as others have posted. It's an experience that you can't easily have in Japan (and it seems that rough sailing like this is something that only fishermen get to experience), so I definitely recommend participating.

去年の１１月に夫婦で参加しました。
大しけの中、強行突破のような形で船を出したようで、乗員のほぼ全員激しく船酔いしていました。飲んでいた酔い止め薬も効果ナシでした（笑）
サメの恐怖ではなく、あまりの波の高さと激しい揺れに、このまま死ぬのではないか、と言う感じたことのない恐怖に襲われました。あまりに激しく揺れるので、同じ船に乗っていた欧米の方々も苦笑でした。
シケでしたので、ゲージに入っても海を見渡せない。サメがかなり近くに来ないと姿を確認できなかったです。５匹ほど見れましたが、ゲージ内の揺れがすごいのと船酔いで気持ち悪いのであまり記憶がありません（笑）他の参加者も吐きながらサメを見る、といったかなり過酷な現場でした（笑）

天気の良い日は他の方が投稿されているように、たくさんのサメに出会えるようですね。日本ではなかなかできない体験（大しけの航海も漁師さんたち以外はなかなか体験できなさそう）ですので是非参加してみてください。

I went in February.
I was very satisfied to see many whales.
It became a good memory.
It was difficult to take photos, but it was fun.

I had se opportunity to get really close to the fishes and turtles I just would like to see corals. Also the scootter was too noisy when moving other than that everything was perfect.

Fortunately, I was able to see both dolphins and sea turtles. I was impressed by the animals, the beautiful fish, and the mountains visible from the boat. The staff were very kind, and the children were able to enjoy the tour with peace of mind. As a parent, I was worried about swimming with my small child in the ocean, but thanks to the support of the staff, we were able to see many dolphins. Thank you very much.

Personally, I doze off during the important briefing on the bus in the early morning, and I regret not paying more attention.

スタッフの皆さんもとても優しく、子供たちも安心してツアーを楽しんでいました。
親としても海の中で小さな子供を連れて泳ぐのも心配でしたが、スタッフの方々がフォローして下さったおかげで、たくさんのイルカが見ることができました。

個人的には早朝のバスの中での重要事項の説明にはウトウトしてしまい、もっとちゃんと聞いておけばよかったと反省です。

This was an experience of a lifetime. The food was good. The crew was awesome and the spot to snorkel was fabulous. I think best of all this supports a good cause which was the tipped me going with them. On the way back they gave us a bonus looking at another dolphin pod prior to docking.

Me and my friend first agreed to do a caged experience with the sharks, but I'm so glad we chose to do it without the cage! It was a better experience. The guides were helpful and experienced, and we luckily saw a Tiger shark! We did this on our last day in Hawaii and it wound up being the best part of our trip!

I participated with my children, and the staff were very kind and helpful. It’s challenging to swim with small kids, but the staff provided support, which made me feel at ease. However, since it’s in nature, it’s understandable, but it was disappointing that I only caught a glimpse of the dolphins from a distance. I would like to participate again if I have the opportunity.

子ども連れで参加しましたが、スタッフの方が親切でとても助かりました。小さな子を連れて泳ぐのは大変ですが、スタッフの方がフォローしてくださるので安心です。ただ自然の中なので仕方がないですがイルカが遠目にチラッと見えただけだったのが残念です。また機会があれば参加させて頂きたいです。

It was a cozy tour with all Japanese participants. The staff were very attentive, and we got to see both dolphins and sea turtles. There are various optional tours in Hawaii, but you definitely should go for the dolphins! I want to go again, so please consider offering a repeat customer discount next time.

参加者は全て日本人でアットホームなツアーでした。スタッフもテキパキとお世話して頂き、イルカにもウミガメにも会えました。

I participated in a submarine tour for the first time. At first, I waited and waited at the meeting point for the 9:30 tour, but no one came, and it was almost 10:00. I started to worry that I had gone to the wrong place and was about to give up when the pickup finally arrived. Although we started off on a negative note, the submarine tour itself was great. We got to see sea turtles, and the kids were excited throughout their first experience in a submarine and seeing the underwater scenery. Not only was the underwater experience amazing, but the views from the boat were also fantastic. We could see Diamond Head the whole time, and we took a lot of great photos. It became a wonderful memory of our time in Hawaii, and I am very satisfied.

初めて潜水艦ツアーに参加しました。
最初、9:30の集合場所に待っても待っても迎えが来ず、時間は10:00前に。場所を間違えてしまったのかと不安になり、もう無理だと諦めかけたところに遅れて迎えが到着。スタートはマイナスからでしたが、潜水艦ツアー自体は良かったです。海亀も見れたし、子供達も初めての潜水艦や海底の景色に終始興奮気味でした。海の中も去ることながら、船からの景色も最高でした。ずっとダイヤモンドヘッドが見え、たくさんいい写真がとれました。ハワイでの良い思い出になり、大満足です。

The boat to the submarine was quite rocky, but the submarine itself didn't sway much, and I was able to see a lot of fish, which made me very satisfied. If you're prone to seasickness, taking motion sickness medication is a must.

潜水艦に行くまでの船が結構揺れましたが、潜水艦はあまり揺れず、魚もたくさん見ることができ、満足でした。船酔いしやすい方は酔い止め必須です。

Since the first time was great, I participated this time in middle school!
We encountered a pod of dolphins in less than 30 minutes after getting on the boat!
It was amazing to see a baby dolphin too!
After moving to another spot, I was also able to see sea turtles, which was great.
I was surprised as the sea turtles kept coming closer to us.
It was really wonderful.
Minako-san also provided such a lovely guide, and just watching made me happy.

My elementary school child wanted to see dolphins, so we participated. Unfortunately, the water clarity was poor, but we were able to see many dolphins, and it seemed like they had a lot of fun swimming with them. Even for adults, it felt a bit challenging to swim, so I thought it would be tough to pull along my first-grade child, but the staff helped by swimming with the kids, which was a great relief. Next time, I want to participate on a day with better visibility.

小学生の子供がイルカを見たいと言うので参加しました。
残念ながら透明度は悪かったですが、沢山のイルカを見れて、一緒に泳げた事で、とても楽しかったようです。
大人でも少しハードに感じるくらい泳ぐので
小学1年生の子供を引っ張って泳ぐのは大変と思っていましたが、スタッフの方が子供を連れて泳いでくれたので、とても助かりました。
今度は透明度の良い日に参加したいです。

Sea walking is available everywhere, but underwater biking is only here!
About 20 years ago, there was one at Manza Beach in Okinawa, but it couldn't operate due to the weather at that time, and it has been gone since then, which I found disappointing!
However, I found it in Hawaii this time and it was definitely the right decision to sign up without hesitation.

It's quite disappointing that the number of fish has significantly decreased compared to the old Hawaii, but considering this attraction over the fish, I definitely recommend it!

シーウォークはどこにでもあるが、水中バイクはここでしかない！
沖縄にも２０年くらい前に万座ビーチにあったが、その時は気候でできなく、それ以来なくなっており残念に思ってました！
しかし今回のハワイで見つけて迷わずに申し込みをして正解だった。

魚の数が昔のハワイに比べてかなり減っているのが残念でならないが、魚よりもこのアトラクションって考えると是非おすすめですね！

The pickup is at 8:30 and we arrive at the hotel at 15:30, so we have a full day to enjoy. The kids had fun playing on the playground equipment, interacting with birds, feeding fish, and even getting close to dolphins. There is a Japanese interpreter, so you can participate in the program with peace of mind! The travel was comfortable as we moved by large bus.

There were hardly any Japanese people at the meeting place.
It was helpful that there was a Japanese channel on the headphones in the submarine.
However, you can't see big fish, and you won't see beautiful fish, so if you expect those, you'll be disappointed.

ホテルからヒルトンそばまでピックアップ。
集合場所はほぼ日本人はいませんでした。
潜水艦ではヘッドフォンから日本語のチャンネルがあるから助かりました。
ただ大きな魚は見えないし、綺麗な魚も見れないのでそういうものを期待するとがっかりします。

I woke up at 5 AM and moved to the meeting place in the dim light.

I was worried because I had heard that a tropical storm was coming from the south, but with dawn came clear skies. The sea was calm as well.

The bus provided a thorough explanation beforehand. After boarding, they quickly distributed the equipment.

About 15 minutes after boarding, we encountered a pod of dolphins. We were able to see the dolphins up close as they swam back and forth without needing to change boats.

We moved to another spot for snorkeling. We saw two green sea turtles and an eel, among other things.

The guide mentioned that this was one of the top ten best days of the year.

As expected with wildlife, timing and luck play a role. It seemed challenging to find the dolphins that day, but I felt that the staff here would give their all regardless.

I was able to enjoy the entire experience since I took motion sickness medication.

However, the air conditioning in the car broke on the way back, so I’ll give it a ☆-1.

朝、5時起きで、薄暗い中、集合場所へ移動。

南側にトロピカルストームが来てると、聞いていたので、心配していましたが、夜明けと共に快晴。海も、穏やかでした。

バスで事前に丁寧に説明して下さっていました。乗船後も、テキパキ道具を配って下さいました。

乗船後、15分程で、イルカの群れと遭遇。
船に乗り直すことなく、何度も行き来するイルカを間近でみれました。

移動して、もう一度、シュノーケリング。
アオウミガメ2頭と、ウツボなどもみれました。

今年、10本の指に入るいい日だとガイドさんがおっしゃってました。

やはり、野生動物なのでタイミングと運は、ありますね。
イルカを探す日は、大変そうでしたが、そんな日でも、ここのスタッフさんだと、全力でやってくれると思えました。



酔い止めを、飲んでいたので、終始楽しめました。

帰りの車のエアコンが壊れてしまったので☆-1

Today, there were six Japanese participants, one of whom was an 11-year-old girl. After listening to various explanations, everyone put on wetsuits, and I, being a bit nervous, also wore a life jacket. We set off to our destination on the cruiser!

"The waves are high today," they said, and we experienced quite a bit of rocking and splashes. "It looks like it's raining around the point," I thought we might be unlucky, but then I saw a rainbow in the left front. As I was delighted by that rainbow, I noticed another one behind us. And behind us was a beautiful sunset.

Thanks to that situation, we saw a large semi-circular rainbow. On top of that, it was a double rainbow! I was very satisfied with this cruising experience, which allowed us to enjoy a 360-degree view while getting splashed, even more than a regular sunset cruise.

When we arrived at the point, we put on our snorkels. Following my husband, I jumped in, but my snorkel came off due to an accident. However, the staff calmed me down, saying, "There's no need to panic. I'll help you put it back on."

As we reached the point, we were amazed to see a manta ray almost immediately. "Wow, that's amazing!" I exclaimed, and then two manta rays rolled up towards us from the seabed, circling just inches away with their mouths wide open—I could even see inside their mouths.

For someone like me, who gets nervous easily, it was quite a shock. But each time, they reassured me with, "A manta is coming!" "You're okay!" "Just relax and float!" This guidance helped me stay calm and enjoy the experience.

The plankton, larval crustaceans, and swimming fish were sparkling beautifully thanks to the lighting. It was truly a precious experience.

With attentive service throughout, the cruiser driver offered me sparkling water since I was feeling a bit seasick. Even though I was in a wetsuit, I still felt quite cold. The hot chocolate made by the staff after we returned warmed both my heart and body. It became a wonderful memory of Hawaii! ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

本日の日本人参加者は6人。うち1人は11歳の女の子。
諸説明を聞き、全員ウエットスーツを着用し、ビビリの私は、ライフジャケットもつけました。
クルーザーで目的地へ発進❗️
「今日は波が高いですね」ということで大きく揺れつつ、波しぶきもしっかり浴びました。
「ポイント辺り、雨降っていそうですね」ということで、あー私たちついてないのかなーーーと思っっていると、左前方に虹が。その虹に大喜びしてると、左後方にも虹が。そして、背後には美しいサンセットが。
そんなシチュエーションのおかげで、半円の大きな虹が見えました。その上、二重に！ダブルレインボーになりました。
普通のサンセットクルーズより、波しぶきを浴びながら360度見渡せるこのクルージングだけでも、大満足❣️でした。

ポイントに着き、シュノーケル装着。主人に続いてドボンと飛び込むとーシュノーケルが外れるアクシデント。でも、スタッフさんが「焦らなくて大丈夫。つけてあげるから」と落ち着かせてくれました。
ポイントに行くと、驚くほど直ぐにマンタが(´⊙ω⊙`)。あー凄い！と喜んでいると、2匹のマンタが、海底より私たちに向かってローリングアップ。大きな口を開けてーーースレスレを旋回。口の中まで見えました。
ビビリの私には、強すぎる衝撃でした。でも、その都度、「マンタ来ますよー」「大丈夫ですよー」「力を抜いて浮いていてくださいねー」と的確に声をかけていただいて、落ち着いて、楽しむことができました。
海中のプランクトンー甲殻類の幼生等や、泳ぎ回るサカナ等、照明のお陰でキラキラしてよく見えました。本当に貴重な体験でした。

すべてに丁寧な対応で、船酔い気味の私に、クルーザーの運転手さんは炭酸水をくださいました。ウエットスーツ着てたけど、それでもとっても冷えました。帰着後に頂いた、スタッフさん手作りのホットチョコレートは、心も身体も温まりました。ハワイのとっても良い思いでになりました

The president personally guided us, but when there are dolphins, we have to jump into the sea quickly, and I was rushed with comments like "You're too slow to jump!" and "Hurry up and get ready!" Even if they rush us, we're beginners and can't respond quickly. I wish they could take it a bit easier. It made me quite anxious.

I did see dolphins, but the water was murky, so it felt like I could only see their shadows.

学長さん自らが案内してくれたが、イルカがいたら急いで海に飛び込まないといけないのだが、飛び込みが遅い！とか早く準備して！とか急かされる。急かしたところでこちらは初心者なので急には対応出来ない。もう少しのんびり構えてもらいたい。ビクビクしてしまう。
イルカは観れたけど海が濁っていて影が見えるという感じ

I got seasick while transferring from the boat to the submarine. If you're prone to motion sickness, be sure to prepare some medication. It can ruin a wonderful experience.

船から潜水艦への乗り換えで、私は酔いました。必ず乗り物に弱い人は酔い止めを準備して下さい。せっかくの体験が台無しです。

I haven't received any updates regarding the photos taken underwater. Aside from that… the instructor was kind and pleasant, and the fish that came close were incredibly moving, almost like the images I had in mind.

You can experience the same level of excitement while scuba diving, but since my wife can't swim, the underwater scooter was a lifesaver.

[Additional note] I posted this, but after the VELTRA help desk contacted the organizing company, I was able to obtain the photos, so I changed my rating to the highest.

インストラクターは親切で気持ち良く、
近づいてくる魚は
イメージ写真に限りなく近く感動的でした。

スキューバーでも同等な感動を味わえますが、我が家は家内が泳げないので、
水中スクーターは救いの神となりました。

The tour guide and the boat were wonderful! The addition of divers who brought various sea life up to the windows was an unexpected touch. I'd definitely do this again.
