I chose the Friday cruise to enjoy the fireworks in Honolulu from the ship. The quality of the food and drinks was surprisingly high for being on a boat, and the hula show on board was incredibly lively. The entire staff made it a fun cruise. It's definitely enjoyable for everyone, from children to the elderly.

I initially thought it might be a bit cramped, but once the show started, it was incredibly powerful and I was very satisfied. The production made the most of the space, and it was truly wonderful. Participating as a family of four was truly a courageous choice, especially considering the impact of the exchange rate, but I'm so glad we decided to go for it! It was my first time on a helicopter, and thanks to the thoughtful care of the staff and pilot, I was able to enjoy it without any worries. I wanted to see the Kilauea volcano erupting magma, and I was able to capture that on video to show my elderly mother who was waiting back in Japan. Additionally, we chose a tour that included a stop at a waterfall, and that turned out to be a fantastic decision! It allowed us to truly experience the lush nature of the Big Island. The view of the mountains and valleys from the sea, the green landscape, the blue coral reef waters, and the brown-black of the volcano and lava were all so vibrant and unforgettable. Plus, we were greeted by a cute dog! I wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

We recently attended the dinner show and overall, it was a very decent experience—definitely worth checking out at least once. It came highly recommended, and while parts lived up to the reviews, I did leave feeling slightly underwhelmed in a few areas.

The food was decent, but my family and I were hoping for more traditional Hawaiian dishes. I was especially looking forward to laulau and Hawaiian mac salad, which weren’t on the menu. While the meal was fine, it didn’t quite match the authenticity I’ve experienced at other luaus on different islands. That said, the piña colada was excellent!

The pre-show, including the unearthing of the pig, wasn’t quite what I expected, but the grounds were absolutely beautiful—immaculately maintained and fun to walk through, especially with the live animals.

Every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming. The Smith family did a great job hosting, and the main host was especially entertaining and engaging. Their humor and hospitality were highlights of the evening

It might be due to deck 3, but it was extremely cramped. Moreover, I was seated in a dark spot against the wall where I couldn't see outside at all, making it the worst table.

Although it was a buffet, the selection was limited, and the only saving grace was that the pineapple was delicious. The seating was terrible, and the food wasn't worth going back for, so I quickly went out to the deck. I could see Diamond Head from the sea, but since we were stationary, the view didn't change and became boring.

When I thought about ordering a drink, the waitress was dancing in the center, and I didn't know who to order from, so I gave up.

The only good thing was that I could see a beautiful sunset. Given the price, I would recommend having a nice meal at a restaurant instead. I made a reservation because many people had, but I think it was a mistake.

It was a long-awaited family trip with all four of us together. As a memory, we participated in a sunset cruise, aiming to see the fireworks on Friday. We requested a reservation package that included transportation. Our dining seats were on the second floor at a window-side table. We received one complimentary welcome drink, but the food was buffet style and average. It was my first time seeing fireworks from the boat, but since the ship was quite large, we were a bit far away. It might be better to see them up close. I won't be repeating this next time. The tour price was relatively high, and I was much more satisfied with the East Coast North Tour, which was the same price.

We watched from the center seat in the 9th row. Luckily, there were no other audience members on either side of us, so it felt like a couple's seat. Various performances unfold along the history of Hawaii. The stage isn't very large, but the performers also come out into the aisles, creating a dynamic experience that utilizes the entire theater. There were hilarious moments that involved audience participation, such as throwing large balloons into the crowd, and before we knew it, time flew by. Since it has just started, I recommend it to both first-timers and those who are familiar with Hawaii.

I had a guaranteed window seat, enjoyed a course with lobster and steak, sparkling wine, and photos included. The food was great, and I really enjoyed the little conversations with the staff. Their hospitality was outstanding, and they even took pictures with us.

Taking photos on the deck while enjoying the view of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the sunset was very pleasant. As we approached the middle of the meal, the show began. Just when the excitement was building, we all danced to YMCA together, and before we knew it, the performance came to an end.

Pros: pig roast being done onsite, got to witness uncovering and presentation of the pig. (my son hated this portion!). menu and performances were both great! I liked different island nations being represented in music and dance and a little bit of story telling/history to tie it together. performance was good length and sunset was gorgeous! desserts and beverages were also delicious.

Cons: attempted to check in entire luau at one time slot. made for a lot of time waisted waiting in hotel lobby check in line. check in inside and then second check in outside felt redundant. we arrived at 5:22, email confirmation had suggested 5:30 check in, but spent several (20+ minutes) waiting to check in. by the time we arrived in luau area, we missed the 'activities' portion of the luau. we also missed the royal entrance of the luau show. we did however have great seats so first-come-first-seated wasn't an issue.

brief meet and greet with performers after the show felt rushed -- they were spread along exit sidewalk and available for a quick picture but were ushering us along immediately, without any chit chat -- which is a huge difference compared to other luaus.

professional photography of your party was an additional $25 for digital download. fresh lei's were an additional $10 each, which in my opinion were reasonably priced but I've had digital photography and leis included at other similarly-priced luaus.

having dined at this marriott the night before and spoken to several guests in the week it seems this particular marriott has become quite overpriced for the level of service and age of property it's become. it has an outstanding location, but is overpriced for the level of service or hospitality i've experienced at other similarly priced marriotts in the islands. pool and restaurants were crowded and bonvoy perks were lacking/zero. kids meals were reasonable, but got charged $10 each for kids scoop of vanilla icecream.
