The Polynesian Culture Center was a great experience. The representations of the countries were great. The canoe ride, the canoe parade, and the activities were very well done. Our guides, Hannah and Saydie were awesome. They really made our tour special, and were very informative. The HA fire show was amazing !
The only thing that was disappointing was the dinner. There wasn't much of a variety. I went back for seconds and there was barely any food left, and no fruit. It seemed that we were rushed throught dinner. I was very disappointed in what I thought would be an "authentic" luau.
The highlight of my trip to Hawaii was the Polynesian Cultural Center. The show was of a high standard and I was very satisfied; it made me want to see it again.
The staff (students) who picked us up had a somewhat amateurish charm, which was actually quite nice. I was torn between the standard and deluxe options, but I chose the deluxe. The activities, meal options, and seating for the show differ between standard and deluxe, so I recommend going with the deluxe.
During the day, the staff communicates in Japanese from the hotel pick-up to the departure for the Polynesian Cultural Center, allowing you to enjoy the activities, meals, and show with peace of mind.

I attended the Chief's luau with my husband, siblings/spouses, and my elderly parents. A great time was had by all....even got my parents (temporary) tattooed at the event! We enjoyed the pre-show activities and the food was delicious. Chief and his group of entertainers put on an excellent show. This was my first luau, but my siblings had been to others on previous visits and said Chief's luau was their favorite.
We had a great time. We would definitely recommend this to others.
It was a tour with few Japanese participants, but I really felt like I was abroad. The show was sophisticated, and the management was very well organized. There was plenty of time, and I was very satisfied.

I participated in the VIP room plan with meals included. The impersonations were fantastic, aiming for perfection. However, it became boring. The time spent was excessively long. I ordered this for my 6 year old daughter, who it was her first vacation to Hawaii and on a plane. When we got off the plane we were greeted by a woman in a hawaiian dress holding a sign with my daughters name on it.. My daughter was SO excited! She loved her Lei which was perfect and not too big for her little neck. The flowers stayed beautiful during our week long vacation and my daughter loved them hanging off the lamp shade by our bed. An extra bonus was the lei greeter had 2 extra lei's and gave them to us at no charge so we got lei's for the whole family. On the last day of our trip, we decided to book a dinner cruise. I thought about wrapping up our time in Hawaii with this, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The Royal Hawaiian, which I've always admired, was right in front of us, and we had the best location in the front row.
By the time we arrived at the hotel, there was already a line forming, and I was really glad we splurged on the premium seats. The show and the food were amazing, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol made us feel so happy! I definitely want to participate again the next time I go to Hawaii!

My friend and I booked the VIP evening which included a 3 course meal. The food was beautifully presented and delivered by a friendly waitress, each course, although not necessarily to our taste, was very good, especially the dessert, the chef even came out afterwood to ask if everything had been satisfactory. One criticism would be that having 2 Elvis performers was a little too much, the first Elvis (younger) was great, the second, although good was not as good.

There was no whole roasted pig either. The main show ended up being super fast-paced and finished in no time (laughs). It was supposed to end after 8 PM, but surprisingly, it wrapped up by 6:30 PM, and the band, food, and audience all cleared out immediately.
Despite this disappointing experience, only a few people left their seats, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves to some extent until the end. I had high expectations based on good reviews, and since it was my first day on the Big Island, I was really looking forward to it, but it ended up being a letdown. I'm unsure if I would want to see it again next time.

ドリンクはフリーですが、おばちゃん一人で対応しているのでこれまた長蛇の列。食事はポイなどもあり、お肉の種類も３種類ほどありました。味もアメリカンな味で私は好きです。
さて食事が始まってすぐに雨が,,,小雨だったの束の間、そこそこの雨が降り出し、全員にバスタオルが配られ皆が頭からすっぽり白いタオルをずっとかぶってました。テーブルクロスも食事の入ったトレーも料理も全部雨でぐしょぐしょ。グラスのお酒は雨で薄まって水になってました。
本来なら食事前に色んなアクティビティがあったようですが、雨が強くなってどれも１５分ほどで撤収。何も参加できず。豚の丸焼きもありませんでした。
肝心のショーも超早送りであれよあれよという間に終わって（笑）２０時過ぎ終了予定がなんと１８時半には終わって、バンドも料理も観客も即撤収。
そんな散々な内容でしたが、席を立つ人は数名だけで、みんな最後までそれなりに楽しんでいました。
口コミも良く、初ハワイ島初日だったので期待していましたが、残念な結果に終わってしまいました。次回もう一回観るかは悩むなー

If possible take the Friday night cruise so you can see the fireworks near the Grand Waikikian lagoon. We stayed at the Grand Waikikian so were the second group picked up which meant we were on board the bus for several pick ups. Good thing was being the 2nd stop at the end of the night.
