We rang as instructed when we were at the meeting point and were told a car would be dispatched and would be 15 minutes. He arrived, loaded our bags, we climbed aboard (& I mean climbed, no step was offered), then sat waiting for a further 20 minutes for 3 other people. We were under the impression this was a private shuttle, not like all the other airport shuttles on demand. My husband had to help the other two elderly ladies into the vehicle as the step was far too high. Totally disappointed for the price we paid!!

It's an affordable and valuable shared bus service that takes you from the airport to The Kahala Hotel & Resort. Just go outside the airport and look for someone in a yellow shirt, and you'll be fine. They also speak Japanese, which is reassuring. After sitting on a bench at the bus stop for a while, your name will be called. The bus stops at two locations in Waikiki before heading to Kahala. For some reason, I was dropped off not in front of the Kahala Hotel lobby, but just before the rotary, and I had to walk about 50 meters. I was told in English that they couldn't drive into the lobby, but I didn't quite understand.
