We gathered early in the morning and arrived at the northern airport just before 7 AM. The explanation time was surprisingly short, and there was a sense of urgency to get going. Even though I didn't opt for video recording, I thought at least we could have some conversation, but the instructor was mostly focused on preparing without much interaction. It felt quite impersonal.

Once we took off in the Cessna, it was all very matter-of-fact. Well, I guess that’s just the instructor's personality. What I didn’t like was the way we descended after deploying the paraglider. It was a rapid descent with sudden stops and sharp turns—way too fast. My hips were hurting! Isn’t that a bit too self-centered?

Before I knew it, we were back on the ground. The instructor quickly packed up, probably because it’s just another day for them. After about 15 minutes of maintenance and a break, the instructor was off again with new guests.

I mean, it's fine to be calm and collected, but honestly, the roughness of the descent made me not want to tip. Even in business, I expected at least a minimum level of kindness. Just how many times do you have to do this to get it right? Please don’t treat customers roughly. I won’t be doing this again on Oahu.

あっという間に地上着。さっさと片付けるインストラクター。まあ、日常だから？
その後、15分くらい整備片付けと休憩したインストラクターはまた新たな客人と空へ。
はぁ、いや、いいんですよ淡々とってところは。ただ、降下の乱暴な感じは正直、チップあげたくなくなりますわ。
ビジネスとしても、最低限の優しさは欲しかったな。
回数こなしてナンボ？？客を乱暴に扱わないでね〜。オアフ島ではもうやらないよ。

The one hour plus flight allowed us to see all of Kauai coasts. We saw many waterfalls, the Pacific Grand Canyon and the beautiful Na Pali Coast. It literally took my breath away!!! The instructor was also kind and managed to break the ice with humorous lectures for the nervous participants. I definitely want to experience it again.

I think there are various activities available, but skydiving probably requires the highest level of determination. When I actually tried it, I realized that it was something that demanded maximum guts, which I don't usually experience in my daily life. This time, I decided to stay a bit longer on the Big Island of Hawaii. My goal is to relax as much as possible, but just staying cooped up in a condominium would be boring. I searched for a special tour and finally decided on a helicopter tour! The thought of seeing the Big Island from the sky made my heart race, but there were several challenges to consider.
1. The price is on the higher side
2. Is flying in a helicopter dangerous?
3. Wouldn't a car be sufficient instead of a helicopter?
4. The tour is dependent on the weather
5. Can I ride with a Japanese-speaking pilot (since I can't speak English)?
6. Which tour pattern should I choose?

Regarding point 2: There is no such thing as zero risk in anything, but I believe the probability of a helicopter accident is significantly lower compared to the risks of driving a rental car in unfamiliar territory. In reality, the helicopter was stylish, had a wide view, and provided a smooth, refreshing flight. The noise disappears when you wear headphones, and everyone, including the pilot, can converse. This also made for a fun time, and I ended up making friends with the couple I flew with. The decision to operate the flight is made based on the weather conditions of the flight route for that day, and in fact, flights after ours were canceled. ①料金が高め ②ヘリコプターは危険ではないか ③何もヘリでなくとも車で十分ではないか ④実施が天候に左右される ⑤日本語パイロットのヘリに乗れるか(英語がダメなので) ⑥ツアーのパターンはどれを選べば良いのか ⑦そもそもキラウエアの噴火は大丈夫か 、などなど。これらを何とかクリアして素晴らしい時間を手にした報告です。

①について:ハワイ島の魅力はなんと言っても多彩な自然です。地球は生きていて今も進化し続けていることを実感するにはヘリコプターしかない！と、清水の舞台から飛び降りる気持ちで予約しました(涙) 実際に飛んでみるとそれはもう期待以上でした。他のツアーと比較すると確かに高いです。しかし時間単価ではなくて、「感動単価」で考えると安い！というのが体験しての実感です。ハワイ島では高価な買い物などできませんし、する必要もありません。ですから、最初から旅行費用に組み入れて準備することをお勧めします。もちろんお金持ちの方には言わずもがなです。ぜひ体験して下さい。
②について:何事も危険ゼロは無いですが、ヘリ事故の確率は、レンタカーで慣れない運転にチャレンジするのに比べたら比較にならないくらい低いと思います。実際、機体もかっこよくて、視界も広く、揺れもなく、とても爽快なフライトを楽しめました。騒音はヘッドホンを着けると消えますし、パイロットを含め乗員全員で会話ができます。これも楽しい時間となり、同乗したご夫妻とお友達になってしまいました。運行の可否は、フライト時刻毎にその日の飛行ルートの気象状況を見て決められ、実際に、私たちの次の時間以降のフライトは中止になりました。当たり前ですが危険なフライトは決してしません。

I was able to learn about the magnificence of Kilauea Volcano and the volcanic island of Hawaii.

I casually thought about wanting to do this and signed up, while getting my expectations up by looking at everyone’s reviews. However, when the day came, I got nervous and thought, "I hope I’ll be okay," feeling extremely anxious (laughs).

I had signed up for the morning plan, so I gathered at a nearby hotel before 5 AM. It took about an hour to arrive. When we got there, the sky was beautiful, and I could see a different kind of Hawaiian sky in Honolulu!

From there, we watched a video to learn how to skydive, and then it was just a matter of waiting for our turn... As my name was called and I saw others getting geared up, I enjoyed the thrill of anticipation (laughs). The instructor spoke in simple Japanese, which helped ease my nerves, but when we took off into the sky, I almost felt like I couldn’t do it. When the instructor told me, "We’re only halfway up," I panicked and thought, "Still!?" (laughs).

About eight groups flew up, and I was the last to dive. Watching everyone drop in front of me was shocking. At first, I couldn’t even scream from the impact of the dive, but soon I was shouting! When the parachute opened, the view and the feeling were amazing☆ As I was screaming my head off, the instructor found it amusing and made us spin, which was so much fun (laughs).

The skydive felt like it was over in an instant, but I already wanted to do it again! By the way, make sure to take motion sickness medication! I had taken some, but I felt the most nauseous when we landed on the ground (sweat). Also, tips were given in a box after the jump.

I jumped in late November, and it was a bit chilly, so I went in a short-sleeve shirt and a cardigan. Please keep this in mind!

当日は午前のプランで申し込んでいたので5時前に近くのホテル集合。1時間ほどで到着しました。到着時、空が綺麗でホノルルの空は違ったハワイの空が見られました！
そこからはビデオを見てスカイダイビングの方法を知り、あとは順番待ち、、、
名前を呼ばれて装備していく周りの方の姿を見ながらドキドキ感を楽しみます（笑）
インストラクターさんは日本語を単語で話ながら緊張を解してくれたので余裕が出てきましたが、空に飛び立つと｢飛べないかも｣と挫折しそうになりました。｢まだ半分の高さだよ｣とインストラクターさんに教えて貰った時は｢まだ！？｣と焦りました（笑）8組ほどで空へ飛び、タイブするのは最後で目の前で次々と落ちて行く姿は衝撃的でした。
ダイブすると初めは衝撃で声も出ませんでしたがすぐに絶叫！！パラシュートが開くと絶景と気持ちよさで最高でした☆絶叫しまくっているとインストラクターさんも面白がり旋回させられめっちゃ楽しかったです（笑）
あっという間のスカイダイビングでしたが、すぐにまたやりたい！と思うほどです。
ちなみに、絶対に酔い止めは飲んでおいてください！薬は飲んでいましたが地上着陸時に1番酔いました(汗)
あとチップは飛んだあとに箱に入れる形式でした。
11月下旬に飛びましたが肌寒く半袖＋カーディガンで行きました。是非、参考にしてください！

I signed up for this tour because I wanted to see the lava and ocean entry from the sky, but unfortunately, I couldn't see them. Still, I was able to witness the crater and the areas where lava spread after the eruption, feeling the power of nature.

The tour takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to leisurely circle the island, allowing you to fully enjoy the shape of the island, its terrain, the greenery, and the blue sea. Among the highlights, the Kohala Coast, Waipi'o Valley, and Waimauna Valley were breathtaking and truly moving. I regretted not adding the landing option at the waterfall, as it would have been amazing to land in that valley. Next time I participate, I want to try landing as well.

Here are some tips for those who will be joining the tour soon:
1. There is only one Japanese pilot, so it's better to assume that you will have a foreign pilot even if you request one. (I also made a request and inquired beforehand, but all three helicopters that flew at the same time that day had foreign pilots.)
2. Passengers can ask the pilot questions during the flight, but if you don't speak English, you might feel stressed as you won't be able to ask about things you're curious about or don't understand in the explanations. It’s a good idea to be able to express your requests in English.

2．ヘリの中では乗客がパイロットに質問できますが、英語ができないと、気になったことや解説でわからないことなどを聞けないため、ストレスを感じるかもしれません。見たいもののリクエストなどは英語で言えるようにしておいた方が良いと思います。
3．綺麗に写真を撮るために黒い服を着ていくよう注意書きがありますが、長そで長ズボンにすることをお勧めします。腕や足の肌色が窓に映ってしまい綺麗に撮れません。
4．自身の乗ったヘリの中の様子や見た景色の動画USBデータを＄42程度で購入ができます（クレカ使用可）。ヘリ内でかかっていた音楽（見えている景色に合わせて音楽も変えられていて非常に効果的です）と共に自身が見た綺麗な映像が残せるので非常にお薦めです。

There is no other way to see Kauai than from
above. There is so much of the island you can only see from above. I highly recommend doing it. This is our 2nd time here but 1st time seeing it from above. It is totally worth the money. Plus they are the only ones that let my 6 yr old on. After the ride, my wife and I looked at each other and couldn’t believe no other helicopter rides allowed him on it.

I was really glad to have Mr. Mochizuki as my guide. Initially, my goal was to see Kilauea from above, but the views from the mountainside in the latter half were even more amazing than I had imagined. Entering the valley and looking down at the waterfall flowing into the sea from directly above is a sight you can only see from a helicopter. At first, I wondered why it was cheaper from Hilo, but after inquiring, I was convinced by the response that the experience was longer and richer in content, so I went ahead and booked it. In the end, I never felt that the price was too high. If you're hesitating, I think you can feel assured about that. As Mr. Mochizuki mentioned, it was a wonderful experience that I would recommend everyone to try at least once.

望月さんにガイドしてもらえたのが本当に良かったです。
当初はキラウェアを上から見たいと思ったのが目的でしたが、後半の山側が想像以上に素晴らしかったです。
谷の中に入って行ったり、海に流れ落ちる滝を真上から見下ろすのはヘリからでしか見ることのない景色ですね。

As a commemoration of our honeymoon, we decided to give it a try! Before flying, I was quite timid (wondering why I made the reservation, haha). I was really anxious about the fear of dying or having an accident, but once we actually went, there were many Japanese participants, and the bus driver was fluent in Japanese, which made me feel at ease while diving!

However, since it was my first time overseas, I thought it would have been better to prepare tips in advance and learn more beforehand to avoid any last-minute rush. (It's also written on the voucher, so it's a good idea to read it carefully.)

【Things to Prepare in Advance】
1. Comfortable clothing (jeans, athletic shoes)

2. A copy of your passport
→ It's risky to lose the original.

3. A credit card
→ You need to choose either photo or video fees. Both are also acceptable. I chose the outside camera (where a photographer jumps with you to take pictures), which cost $141 per person.

4. Tips (about $50 per person)
→ The typical tip is around $10 for the driver, $10-$20 for the photographer, and $10-$20 for the instructor.

(バウチャー(予約票)にも書いてあるので、よく読んでおいた方がいいです)


【事前用意しておくと良いもの】
①動きやすい服装(ジーパン、運動靴)

②パスポートのコピー
→原本は無くすと危ないので。

③クレジットカード
→写真代、ビデオ代でどちらかは選ばないといけないので。両方も可。
私は、アウトサイドカメラ(カメラマンが一緒に飛んで撮ってくれる)だったので、1人当たり141＄しました。


④チップ(1人当たり、～50＄程)
→チップは、
運転手(10＄～)、カメラマン(10～20＄)、インストラクター(10～20＄)が相場だそうです。
※もちろんサービスが良ければもっと出しても良いと思います！

私は夫婦で飛んだので、合計で100＄程キャッシュ(現金)でそれぞれに渡しました。
※カメラマン、インストラクターさんのチップは、投票所のような場所に案内されて箱にいれたので、直接渡すわけではないです！

あと、荷物入れのロッカーですが、
25セント×4枚必要なのですが、両替機もあるので、1＄札があれば大丈夫ですよ♪(^^)

From my wallet's perspective, I felt like I was taking a leap off a stage at Kiyomizu Temple, but when I actually went, it wasn't expensive at all. In fact, this experience is priceless. Fortunately, the weather was great, and I could see the lava well, but what moved me even more than the lava was the Kohala Falls. Seeing multiple waterfalls with a drop of about 900 meters made me tear up at the beauty of the Earth. I thought I would like to bring my family next time. I highly recommend everyone to experience this at least once. I was so moved that I forgot to take pictures of Kohala.

My first skydiving experience. I came to Hawaii last year, but I couldn't do it due to scheduling conflicts, so I was determined to make a comeback this time. However, the weather was unfortunately rainy... I was really anxious, thinking I might not be able to do it, but after waiting for about an hour, we suddenly took off when the sky cleared a bit!

The instructor and the cameraman were both really funny. We boarded the Cessna and headed up into the sky!! Before takeoff, I was so excited that I couldn't contain myself, but gradually I started to feel anxious... (after all, I have a fear of heights... but I love roller coasters!). When the door of the Cessna opened, there was no time to hesitate, and we jumped right into the open sky!!! I was the first one to jump, but others said, "Seeing someone fall from the plane is an indescribable feeling." Once we were flying, it was just pure fun. The moment we landed, I thought, "I want to jump again!" I intended to buy either a photo or a video as a keepsake, but both turned out so great that I ended up purchasing both! I finally went skydiving with my mother! We signed up for the 9 AM session with round-trip hotel transportation, so I woke up at 4 AM and was picked up at the hotel at 5 AM as planned. After stopping at several hotels, there were about 12 people on the bus I was on. We arrived at the airfield in about an hour. There were already around 15 to 20 people there.

We watched a video and listened to explanations, and while waiting for our turn, we could relax freely. Groups of about six people went at a time, and we couldn't choose our order. My mother and I were in the last group, so we waited for about an hour and a half, but it wasn't a problem at all since we had snacks, took photos, and watched the dives of the previous groups, which helped us mentally prepare (laughs). If you finish your jump early, you still have to wait for the bus to leave, so it's good to have something to do. There are plenty of tables and chairs, so I recommend bringing snacks. They also had some for sale from a cart. All bags must be stored in a coin locker (you need four 25-cent coins).

When our turn came, we got on the helicopter and arrived at the jump point in about 10 to 15 minutes! Once we arrived, we jumped right away! No waiting! (laughs) If you wear contacts or glasses, they let you keep them on and provide goggles! わたしは写真とビデオを頼んでいたので、終わったあと、それぞれのできあがりを確認。気に入らなければ買わなくてもいいみたいですが、両方買わないはダメと最初に説明がありました。わたしは両方気にいったので写真もビデオも購入。460ドル。(クレジット払いOKです)データはUSBでもらえます！それで終了。帰りのバスはみんな寝てました。11時前にはワイキキのホテルに帰ってこれたので、少し休憩して午後からも十分遊べました。天候によっては中止になったり、待ち時間がもっと長くなったりもあると聞いていたので、天候にめぐまれてスムーズに終われて良かったです。一生の思い出になりました。

We had a total of 11 people picked up from Honolulu for the morning course. After arriving and a brief explanation, we waited about an hour before the dive. It wasn't as long of a wait as I expected.

There was a staff member who was fluent in Japanese, so we were able to get by without any particular inconvenience. The instructor didn't speak Japanese, but what he was saying was simple, and he taught us using gestures, which made it reassuring.

Then we took off in the Cessna! Once the door opened, we dropped immediately. There were people waiting behind us to jump, so there was no time to say "Ah, scary!" (laughs). Skydiving really goes by in an instant, but there's no doubt it will be an amazing experience! The free fall was a bit breathless, but it lasts just a moment, so it's bearable (・ω・).

I was fine, but there were about two people who felt sick afterward. If you're prone to motion sickness, it might be wise to take some anti-nausea medication beforehand.

This is my second attempt this year! I finally got to fly! I was looking forward to seeing the lava of Kilauea on the Big Island from an angle that can't be seen from the ground, but I was a bit disappointed as it was just smoke. However, when we entered Waipi'o Valley, it was breathtaking. I was very moved.

The pilot was also very nice.

As others in the group mentioned, we were hoping for a Japanese or Japanese-speaking pilot, but we had an English speaker instead. I think they should contact us in advance if they can't meet our request. If I had known, I would have chosen another company. It was a very good flight and the staff were great, so it was a bit disappointing to see that lack of transparency. Because of that, I am deducting one star.

地上からでは見られない角度からのハワイ島、ｷﾗｳｪｱの溶岩が楽しみだったのですが煙のみで少しがっかりでした。

The guide during the flight was in English, so I couldn't understand everything, but I still had a great time! Since I had visited the attractions on Kauai the day before, I enjoyed it twice as much!
