Had a fantastic time doing the afternoon snorkel. The crew was helpful and shared interesting facts and stories about the island as we sailed. We had plenty of time to snorkel. The boat was comfortable as well with plenty of spaces to sit in the shade or sun. We also loved the fresh water showers to rinse off coming out of the ocean. We will definitely be booking with Sea Paradise again in the future.

In August 2022, when travel was still strict due to COVID-19, I went to the Big Island and enjoyed a private charter. Since it was my first time in Hawaii, I don't have anything to compare it to, but I felt very safe and secure because it was private.

By the way, according to our guide, Mr. Nawata, we were the first Japanese guests after COVID.

The positives were:
- Since it was private,
1. The schedule was flexible.
2. I could keep a close eye on the children who are not strong swimmers, ensuring their safety.
3. Although they had solid COVID-19 measures in place, it felt even safer since there were no other families around.
- We saw dolphins jumping when we arrived at the bay.
- The children were satisfied seeing beautiful fish.

The trip from Honokohau Harbor to Kealakekua Bay took about an hour one way, and we spent about an hour in the water, but the kids seemed to enjoy it enough, and the breeze on the boat was pleasant.

While it is somewhat more expensive compared to shared boats, we were able to do things that wouldn't be possible without the private charter, and I believe it was a great experience for the children. For families or groups of four or more, especially those with relatively small children, I think it's definitely worth it to go for a private charter.

まだコロナで渡航が厳しい2022年8月にハワイ島にいってプライベートチャーターを楽しみました。初めてのハワイだったので比較対象がないのですが、プライベートだったので、安心安全でとてもよかったと思います。
ちなみに、ガイドの縄田さんによると、コロナ後初の日本人だったそうです。

良かった点としては、
・プライベートだったので、
①スケジュールの融通が利く。
②泳ぎが得意でない子供たちにもしっかり目が届いて安心安全。
③コロナ対策もしっかりしていますが、それ以上に他の家族がいないので安心。
・湾に着いた時にイルカがジャンプしているのが見れたこと。
・子どもたちもきれいな魚が見れて満足していたこと。

出発地のホノウコウ・ハーバーからケアラケクア湾までは片道1時間、往復2時間ほどで海に入れたのは1時間ほどでしたが、子どもたちは十分満喫したようでしたし、ボートの風は気持ち良かったです。

乗り合いのボートと比べると多少値段は張りますが、プライベートではないとできないことができ、子どもたちにもとてもいい体験になったと思います。
それなりの4人以上の家族・グループ、特に比較的小さな子供のいる方にとっては、プライベートチャーターにする価値は十分あると思います。

当日は天候も素晴らしく、私達夫婦だけが日本人でしたが、キャプテンをはじめスタッフ全員が親切で、ユーモラスで、優しい人たちで安心してツアーをエンジョイしました。
28歳のクルーの男性は過去に日本を訪れたことがありその時の様子を聞かせてくれたり、翌日がハロウンだったので女性スタッフの仮装も乗客の雰囲気を盛り上げてくれました。
乗客の数名とも、カタコト英語でしたが、ボート内で色々な会話も楽しめました。
ホヌとの出会いだけでなくイルカやモンクシールとも出会て本当に楽しい半日でした。
キャプテン以外は皆さん若いスタッフです。(キャプテンが一番の盛り上げ役でしたが)

I used a plan that included transportation from the hotel in Waikiki to the site. The bus driver was kind and introduced us to good shops for souvenirs and delicious local restaurants along the way. The explanations were in English, but he mixed in a little Japanese, so I could somewhat understand the content.

During snorkeling, I was able to see swimming sea turtles multiple times, and they were very cute. I also saw many colorful fish.

I could use the SUP for free, and I was able to stand on the board and paddle. On the boat, soft drinks and snacks are provided for free, so I never had to worry about being thirsty.

Fabulous scenery, excellent staff. We went Friday morning 10/28. We played with paddleboards, and floating on the sandbar. The crew than walked us out to coral water with Google, and lifevests for safety. We saw many beautiful fish and found about 3-12"turtles mostly resting in the coral reefs. It was excellent time. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend this tour. The crew was awesome! The sandbar was one of the coolest places ever. Beach volleyball was so much fun and the food was great. Snorkeling at the coral reef was good! We saw several turtles during the turtle watch time. The crew was very experienced Totally awesome experience! You won’t want to miss this one!

The Captin Bruce Cruise and swimming experience was amazing. All of the boat crew members had great attitudes and made this a very memorable day. The crew was always right there to help all family's feel very important and helped in make a everlasting memory for all ages.

This was my family's first trip out on the Ocean. The crew helped us find the best places to see all underwater sea life fish and coral. We got to get right up to all the Turtles as they were resting in there natural environment or help us all swimming around to make these memories of a life time. I would love to be able to come back so I can make reservations with this same group.

Hawaii Manta Ray Sunset & Night Time Snorkel Experience from Kona - Iruka

Hands down a memorable experience. I absolutely loved it and want to go back ASAP. I went in September and I still can't stop thinking about it. The parking was right in front of the loading area. The crew was welcoming right away. They got us set up with gear and even let us use our own gear if we brought. They had snacks and beverages on board. We got to watch the sky light on fire for sunset as we sailed out to where the mantas were. Lots of other companies were around in the harbor as well but the crew made sure to stay a safe distance away without disrupting the other experiences. And !!for the main event!! we saw SIX manta rays! Maybe more. They were so beautiful and flipping right underneath us. The captain also shared some knowledge atop the floating mat while we snorkeled so we could hear her stories while appreciating the creatures. The mantas stuck around the whole time. When it was time to head back in, the crew treated us to hot chocolate. They were also happy to share footage they took during the experience. I fully appreciated their generosity. I would definitely go back and do this again with Iruka! And a BIG MAHALO to HawaiiActivities.com and the Hawaii Reef Hero contest for making this possible for me and my friends <3

This was an awesome experience! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and first time snorkelers. The crew was very informative and helpful. They were fun and clearly enjoyed their jobs! We had a blast! This was the first activity we did during our trip and it did not disappoint! They served donuts, played live music, and had plenty of activities to do. Our favorite experience was the snorkeling! The reefs were so healthy and we saw lots of fish! It's BYOB and there is a store to purchase drinks and snacks before you board. Everyone was super nice and we made friends along the way! Great way to start our trip!

Totally awesome experience and had a ton of fun on the water. Went for the banana boat and bumper ride upgrade. Great and friendly crew! Definitely good to be aware of the tide tho. Unfortunately none of the sandbar was above the water while we were there due to high tide. Was a great experience nonetheless!

Snorkeling was a bit painful as I bumped my shin on the coral and scraped it, but kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding were fun. The staff were kind and friendly. The highlight was when I was paddleboarding and they said, "Look, there's a turtle!" and took me right over to see it. I was so moved to see a swimming turtle up close for the first time. Thank you, Hideo & Midori.

Driver Tomo was incredibly friendly and shared a lot of local information with us. The staff at the Kailua shop were also very friendly. Since my youngest daughter is 9 years old, we couldn't rent bikes, but they kindly inflated a small float for her, allowing us to enjoy the beach all day. Bodyboarding was also fun! For lunch, the kids ordered pizza, and I ordered barbecue, both of which were very delicious! I definitely want to come back here next time.

We had the most amazing experience! The crew was wonderful. Made us feel like Ohana. Kept us safe and let us do our thang. We rode the banana boat and asked the captain to flip us! So much fun. We rode the bumper tube as well, SCARY at first but so much fun. Snorkeled with my 10yr and non swimming boyfriend lol We did great! The lunch sandwich they provided was much needed! We will come back to sandbar EVERY time we visit Oahu. Mahalo!

The sandbar snorkel cruise was a last minute decision and we're so glad we did it! We had a small group so we were able to snorkel out and see some turtles and coral reef! Such an amazing sight! The crew and musicians were very friendly and this added to the overall experience. Highly recommended!!
