This may have been the only time, but all the participants except for us were from the mainland United States. The Kualoa ranch is expansive and offers beautiful vistas of the Hawaiian landscapre - moutains, valleys, forests, and ocean views. The drive/pathway chosen to drive thru the 4000 acres is fast. I recall 3-4 stops - and always felt kind of rushed to jump out'the vehicle - look around - and then get back on the road as other UTV, bus, and bike tours were stopping at the same places. So, 1) it was hard to look around at the views while driving - typically between 15-18 mph - which sounds slow - but you're in a line of vehicles - someone drving in front of you - someone behind. Attention must be on the driving at all times while driving. Vehicle behind us was 'rushing' on our bumper - some kid in the car shouting at us to 'drive faster' rudely. Ummm - when you have to be attendant to what's driving in front of you (the guide in a vehicle) - sometimes, kiddo, that is not possible. And yes, his parents were with him - and yes, the father was driving - fully aware of the rudeness - that's all I say. Stopped to look at some of the remnants of scenery left by movies shot on location there. Photo ops were hard to grab when so many people and other groups were vying for the best views and angles. The guides were o.k. - a little flippant and joking around with each other a bit much. One of the guides 'treating' us to some local Hawaiian lore about the land and lizards - which did not make any sense to us and just seemed kind of out of left field and a little odd. It was worth seeing the land but - if you're driving, you'll miss out on a lot - until the brief stops.

Overall it was a great experience! We had two guides, first for the kayak then another guide joined us once we were done kayaking. Both guides were easy to talk with, funny, and knew the land's history and the foliage. The fun stops with jumping into pools of water. The ziplines were a blast! The final plunge into another pool of water was awesome! The lunch was yummy. The company accommodated our request with a gluten-free bread and treat! I would highly recommend the trip!

I really wanted to do this, so I participated alone. I had heard that it would be cold up in the air, so I wore a windbreaker, but I don't know how many minutes it took from when we descended until the parachute opened. The wind pressure made the zipper press against my throat, and it was uncomfortable. I should have worn a trainer. I couldn't fix it. You need to make sure to fit the goggles properly; otherwise, you'll end up like I did.

The journey in the sky became a rewarding time for myself, and I was glad I did it because the views of the sea, sky, and ground were beautiful.

Since I was staying in Hilo, I started by inquiring whether it was possible to meet at the Onizuka Visitor Center when making my reservation. They kindly responded to my inquiry in Japanese, and I successfully completed my booking.

On the day of the tour, I arrived at the center (elevation 2800m) two hours before the meeting time by rental car and acclimatized by exploring the surrounding area.

From the center, I switched to the tour vehicle and joined others who had come from various hotels in Kona. I was fortunate to sit in the front seat, and we set off for the summit. I was surprised by the off-road conditions, but the tour guide and driver provided explanations in both English and Japanese, and before I knew it, we reached the summit (4200m) with its observation points. There were already many tourists there, but we were able to enjoy the sunset in a spacious area, and the guide took commemorative photos for us. The wind and remaining snow made the perceived temperature around -5 degrees, but I managed to cope with my down jacket and gloves.

After the sunset, we descended to the parking lot at 3600m for stargazing. As it got darker, the number of visible stars increased dramatically, creating a series of breathtaking moments. Here too, we received detailed explanations about constellations in Japanese, and the time flew by.

Additionally, the guide shared the photos taken at the summit and during stargazing via LINE, creating memorable keepsakes.

I highly recommend this tour, which allows you to experience a height 500 meters higher than Mount Fuji and enjoy the dual excitement of sunset and stargazing!

4回目のハワイ島訪問で、念願の「マウナケア山頂 サンセット＆星空観測ツアー」に参加しました。

ヒロ宿泊でしたので、申込時に、「オニヅカビジターセンター待ち合わせ」が可能かどうかの問い合わせからスタートしましたが、日本語のメールでの問い合わせにも親切にご対応いただき、無事に、申込完了。

当日も、待ち合わせ時間の2時間前には、センター（標高2800ｍ）にレンタカーで到着し、周辺の散策などで、高度順応。

センターからは、ツアーの車に乗り換えて、コナの各ホテルから来られた方々と同行。助手席という特等席に乗せていただき、山頂へ出発。
予想以上のオフロードに驚きながらも、ツアーガイド 兼 ドライバーの方が運転しながら英語と日本語で説明をしただき、あっという間に展望台群のある山頂(4200m)に。
既に、多くの観光客がいましたが、広いスペースでサンセットを楽しむことができ、ガイドの方が記念の写真も撮っていただきました。
残雪と強風で体感気温は「-５度」くらいでしたが、持参していたダウンや手袋で何とか凌げました。

サンセット後は、3600mの駐車場まで下りてからの星空観測。
暗くなるに従い、刻々と観える星の数が倍増していき、感動の連続。
ここでも、日本語で星座などの詳しい説明をしていただき、あっという間の時間でした。

さらに、山頂と星空観測で撮っていただいた写真をその場で、LINEで共有していただき、思い出深い写真になりました。

是非、富士山より500ｍも高いところを体験でき、サンセットと星空観測の２つの感動を得られるツアーをお勧めいたします！

Driving a four-wheeler through the great outdoors was so much fun. The buggy had no windows, and I ended up covered in dust from my face to my clothes, which is a funny memory. The guide took a lot of photos and was very kind. One disappointing thing was that the guide explained everything at various points, but it was all in English, so I couldn't understand anything at all.

One of the reasons I wanted to go to Hawaii was to visit this place, but I could only make a reservation for January 1st, so I went by rental car. I was a bit anxious about driving, but the scenery along the way, with the North Shore coastline and the ocean, was incredibly beautiful. It took about an hour from Waikiki, but the zip line experience was amazing. We started with an easy zip line and gradually moved on to longer ones, reaching up to 800 meters, which was not scary at all and very enjoyable. The longest zip line offered a fantastic view of the North Shore ocean from a high point. I was able to get some great photos while zip lining. I participated with older children, and we all had a great time without any issues. The instructions were all in English, so there were a few things I didn't fully understand, but since the process was the same each time, it wasn't a problem. On the way back, we also stopped by Giovanni's, famous for its garlic shrimp, which became one of my best memories.

We were able to capture surfers riding the big waves at the North Shore perfectly!
My advice is to definitely dress warmly and to eat lightly before participating to avoid motion sickness.
There are two seats next to the pilot, which are ideal for video and photo shooting. I highly recommend you experience this.
The price is high, but considering the experience, it's not expensive.

We really enjoyed this tour. It is a long one so be prepared. But they keep you hydrated and fed. I loved the black sand beach, and the sea turtles and the stop along the shore the most. But all of the events were really fun. They packed so much into one day. it was a great tour and we had a lot of fun. The picnic, the stop at the bakery, and the dinner, you were all excellent quality as well.

I was worried that it might be too cold at such a high altitude and that my winter gear wouldn't be sufficient, but they provided parkas and warm jackets, allowing for a comfortable horseback riding experience. This was my third time horseback riding on the Big Island of Hawaii, and the scenery was beautiful, the horses were all well-behaved, and although the staff spoke only English, they spoke clearly and slowly, making it easy to understand. I feel that this horseback riding experience was the best one yet.

The instructors were talking about how they jumped with "Japp" yesterday.

It's frustrating to hear discriminatory language used where customers can't hear it, especially in a job where lives are at stake. It makes me anxious that they might have a dislike for Japanese people and that an injury could occur.

It was a relief that my instructor didn't engage in that conversation. However, another person who was jumping kept insisting on using "Japp." The cameraman was nice, though.

The image gets tarnished because of a few discriminatory individuals. Naturally, I wouldn't recommend this to my Japanese friends.

I want a safe and secure environment. If they dislike Japanese people, they should keep that to themselves outside of work.

The driver, cameraman, and accompanying skydivers asked for tips. That's fine, but I don't want to pay them when they act like this.

After arriving on site as scheduled, the check-in process was smooth and stress-free. After watching the Japanese guidance video, we set off right away. The horses were well-behaved, and we enjoyed the scenery during the perfect two-hour ride. I have nothing to say but thank you for the wonderful time and views.

This tour was one of my families favorite adventure while vacationing in Hawaii. James, our guide, was great. Very knowledgeable, had a sense of humor, and did a great job with the photos. He shared some of his other work with our group and his photos are outstanding.
I would do this trip again! But I would pack some additional clothes; it was cold at that elevation.

I usually lack exercise, but I enjoyed it without feeling tired at all. I was worried about the round trip, but there were no problems with the tour. I was disappointed that I couldn't understand the guide's explanations because I'm not good at English. It made me realize that I should study English again, haha.

普段運動不足でしたが全然しんどくなく楽しめました。行き帰りも心配でしてたがツアーだと何も問題なかったです。ただ英語が苦手だったので案内人の説明が分からなかったのが残念でした。英語は勉強しようと改めて思いました笑

I participated in the celebration of my 60th birthday.
I attended with my wife.
It was my first time horseback riding, and I was a bit anxious, but once I started, the horse was very intelligent, and I felt a sense of unity and reassurance, which made me very happy and comfortable.

My first skydiving experience was wonderful. The weather was great, and it felt good. I was impressed by the beautiful scenery from the Cessna as we flew up high. It felt natural to jump out, and before I knew it, I was on my journey through the sky. I made a mistake with the PC operation at the local reception, but a kind female staff member helped me with the process, which was a relief. However, I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I could speak English.

With the guidance of the instructor pilot through complex controlled airspace and radio communication, we reached the east coast of Oahu after flying over Waikiki. The sight of the sunset was truly divine. Whether to fly over the east coast or the west coast is up to the instructor pilot's judgment, but flying over the east coast allows you to see the valley of the famous tourist spot Kualoa Ranch from the sky. I believe this is a privilege granted to those who conquer the skies. My wife, who was on her second flight with me, was able to enjoy the experience comfortably.
