Everyone has to do this. I couldn't imagine going to Hawaii and not getting a tour of the beautiful island. We also did the Ranch landing which brought us down this this beautiful valley where they filmed lost, godzilla, and jurassic park. I for sure recommend the landing it was so beautiful :) The operation is a family run business and they are all so friendly and the pilot was very informative and quite funny. He told us all about the island and made sure every side of the helicopter got a chance to see each sight. It is somethign you should do right at the beginning of the trip to get familiar with the island. It is worth the money!!! I booked it as a surprise for my finance and he couldn't stop talking about it :) I recommend surprising your travel partner with the tour, it was incredible. If you don't book this every time you see a helicopter flying around the isalnd you will regret not doing this so just do it :) Best part of the trip.

A place you should definitely visit! 一度は行くべき！

I went at the end of August!

However, the summit and the place where we observed the stars were really, really cold!

On the morning of the tour, we were playing at the hotel beach, but the cold was unbelievable.

I brought a face towel to wipe off sweat, but instead, it turned into my wife's scarf! Even so, it was still cold!

My wife said, "I should have brought my UGG boots!" (laughs).

It rained a bit along the way, and the clouds looked suspicious, but we were able to see a beautiful sunset at the summit!

The moonlight was so bright that the starry sky was somewhat lacking in impact...

Still, we had a great time. We could even see the Milky Way faintly.

It's truly surreal to be able to drive up a mountain higher than Mount Fuji; it feels like a dream!

My wife got very sleepy in the car on the way down. I heard that sleeping can make you more susceptible to altitude sickness, so I desperately tried to keep her awake.

The guide mentioned that chocolate and water are effective in preventing altitude sickness.

We are not fans of American chocolate bars (with marshmallows or peanut butter), so I wish we had been informed about that before the tour...

I heard that you can buy chocolate at the "Onizuka~" shop during the meal break, so when we went, only chocolate bars were available. (tears) I wish we had prepared chocolate in advance...

For those who dislike American chocolate bars, I think it would be good to bring your favorite chocolate☆

Those who felt unwell due to altitude sickness were using oxygen.

If you're worried, I think it's a good idea to bring sports oxygen from Japan. (Just pack it in your suitcase)

The bento was delicious!

Honestly, I can't say the ride in the van was comfortable.

I think it was partly due to the bad roads, but I hit my head on the window several times.

Even so, I was attacked by intense sleepiness! (laughs)

Lastly!

If you come to the Big Island, you should definitely participate in this tour at least once!!

8月末に行ってきました！

…が、山頂＆星を観測した場所は本当に本当に寒かった！

ツアーに参加する日の午前中はホテルのビーチで遊んでいたのですが、嘘のような寒さでした。

汗拭き用に持っていったフェイスタオルでしたが、汗どころか妻のマフラーに変身！それでもまだ寒かったです！

妻は「UGG（ムートンブーツ）を持参すれば良かった！」と言っていました。笑。

途中で雨が降ったり、雲行きが怪しかったけど、山頂ではキレイなサンセットが見られました！

月の光が眩しくて、星空はやや感動に欠けちゃいました…。

それでも十分楽しめました。
うっすら天の川も見えました。

富士山より高い山に車で登れちゃうなんて、
本当に非現実的な空間で夢のようです！

妻は下山中、車の中でとても眠たくなりました。
眠ると高山病になりやすくなるそうなので、必死で起こしました。

ガイドさんが言っておりましたが、
チョコレートとお水が高山病予防に効くそうです。

私たちはアメリカンなチョコバー（マシュマロとかピーナッツバター入り）が苦手なので、
その情報は是非ツアー前に教えて欲しかったです。。。

食事休憩をする「オニヅカ~」の売店でチョコが買えると聞いたので行ってみると、
見事にチョコバーのみが販売されていました。涙。
事前にチョコを用意して行けば良かったなぁ。。。

アメリカンなチョコバーが苦手な方は
お好きなチョコを持参されると良いと思います☆

高山病？で体調を崩された方は
酸素吸入などしていました。

心配な方は日本からスポーツ用の酸素を
持って行くのもアリだと思います。
（スーツケースに入れてね）

お弁当、美味しかったです！

正直、車（バン）の乗り心地は良いとは言えませんでした。

道が悪いせいもあると思いますが、
何度も頭を窓に打ちました。

それでも強烈な睡魔に襲われます！笑！

最後に！

ハワイ島に来たならば、
一度はこのツアーに参加すべきっ！！

Skydiving was a lot of fun. I also appreciated the pickup with a Japanese guide to the hotel in the morning.

Once we arrived at the location, it might be good to be prepared for the waiting time until it’s your turn after the explanations and signing are completed.

After skydiving, the shuttle to the hotel left without any notice, which left us anxious about when we would be able to return. This was the only disappointing point.

もよかったとおもいました。

We participated as a couple. The sunset was more beautiful than we imagined, and we were very impressed. It was quite cold, but we were lent warm coats, which allowed us to enjoy it to the fullest. We really appreciated being able to participate since we wouldn't have been able to go on our own. It became our best memory!

This was my first time on an ATV and I had a pretty good time. Usually I am not one for getting dirty and riding on an ATV but I didn't mind.

The guide was very knowledgeable and showed us how to maneuver the ATV's well. There were parts of the tour that were difficult and wouldn't recommend it for kids.

I participated in the Maui Syndrome infection patient tour on August 19. This was my 12th visit to Maui in 24 years of marriage. Among the 12 visits, I think this tour was the best one for climbing Haleakalā.

Regarding the content, I was very satisfied, just as "Luna" described in her post from June 3.

On the day of the tour, there were many clouds due to a typhoon passing nearby, so we couldn't see a sky full of stars, but I definitely want to participate in this tour again next time. It must be the charm of our guide, Mr. Yamauchi!

　８月１９日に参加したマウイ症候群感染患者です。結婚生活の２４年間で、今回が１２回目のマウイ島訪問でした。１２回の中で色々な形でハレアカラ山に登りましたが、今回のツアーが最高に良かったと思います。

　内容については、６月３日投稿の「るなさん」の記述の通りで、大満足でした。

　参加当日は近くを通過する台風の影響で雲が多く、満天の星ではなかったけれど、それでも次回も必ず参加したいツアーです。

The tour guide was friendly and informative. We recommend the 2 hour tour so you can go further back in the mountains. You don't have to have any ATV experience. We really recommend this tour.

Keone we think and Jay were wonderful guides and added greatly to the beautiful experience of riding in Waipio Valley. Their friendlyness and helpfullness really made the ride from great to an amazing experience. It was fun to ride through water and learn about the valley. I would recommend it to anyone interested in horseback riding. The horses were easy to ride but also had some personality which is always fun and the guides did a good job of teaching the basics and what to do to stay safe.

If you go to Maui, participating in this activity is essential for a complete trip. It starts with Krispy Kreme, and you can buy delicious jams and tea at Kula Lodge, and then finally head to Haleakalā. You drive up the 3,000-meter mountain, so there’s absolutely no stress. When you reach the summit, a breathtaking view awaits you. The colors are incredible. At the end, there’s also a heartwarming story from the guide, Mr. Yamauchi. As a side note, it gets quite cold at the top, so especially for women, it’s best to dress warmly to protect against the cold.

マウイに行ったら、これに参加しなければマウイの旅行は完結しないでしょう、という位有意義なアクティビティでした。
クリスピー＆ドーナツに始まり、クラロッジで旨いジャムや紅茶を買う事が出来、いよいよハレアカラへ。
3000メートルの山の登るのですが、車ですぅーと行くので、まったくストレスがありません。
山頂まで着くと、息を飲む光景が待っています。
色が凄いんです。
最後はガイドの山内さんの心温まるお話も付いています。
余談ですが、頂上は相当寒いので得に女性は足などしっかり防寒していったほうがいいです。

This was my second time at Mauna Kea. This time, I participated with a family of seven, including my 83-year-old grandmother, who was very energetic! Last time, I felt sick and couldn't enjoy the beautiful view at the summit, so I was worried about this visit as well. I did feel a bit nauseous at the summit, but I managed to stay there until the end without having to go down.

I was also amazed by the sheer number of stars, even more than last time! The Milky Way was visible, and lying on the ground looking up at the sky, I felt a strange sensation of being alone in the universe because everything around me was dark, which made me forget the cold. The explanations about the stars were enjoyable and easy to understand, making it the best experience. I highly recommend it, even for those who aren't interested in stars or celestial bodies! It was fantastic.

マウナケアは2度目です。今回は83歳を含む７名のファミリーで参加、おばあちゃまはとても元気！
私は前は気持ちが悪くなり山頂の美しい様子が見れなかったので今回も心配しながらの参加、山頂で気持ち悪くなったが、下に下りることもなく最後まで山頂にいることが出来た。

It was so much fun!
I think you can't really understand how exciting it is until you try it, but I highly recommend it!!

It does cost a bit, but if you get the DVD and photos, it will be a lifelong memory.

The staff were very friendly and just so much fun; I was laughing the whole time.

I definitely plan to do it again next time I go. (^-^)

In the evening, I was worried about whether I would be able to see the stars due to the clouds, but I experienced the sunset sinking into the sea of clouds, a starry sky I had never seen before, and the rising moon. In the end, I even got to see a moonbow, making it the best experience ever. The explanations from our guide, Shinya, were also very enjoyable, and I'm really glad I participated. The scenery and sights I saw here were so moving that I will never forget them. If I ever have the chance again, I would love to show it to my children and parents. I think the attached photos won't fully convey it.

夕方は雲が出ていて星が見えるか心配でしたが、雲海に沈む夕日、見たことのない星空、そして昇る月、最後には月の虹ムーンボーまで見ることができ、最高の体験になりました。

The main event of this trip to Hawaii was horseback riding. Since we chose the 2-hour course, there were no other Japanese participants, which was perfect for us as we were trying to avoid Japanese people during our travels (even though I am very much Japanese myself). We also drove there with a rental car.

I felt completely at ease during the horseback riding, and above all, the scenery was absolutely stunning! As we rode through the valley, which is a filming location for Jurassic Park, it truly felt like a dream, and I was completely healed by nature. Since it seems that you can only visit this place on the 2-hour horseback riding course, I highly recommend it!

今回のハワイ旅行のメインイベントだった乗馬。
2時間コースにしたので、他の日本人は皆無で、旅行中日本人を避けている（自分はバリバリ日本人なんですけどね）私たちにはぴったり。現地へもレンタカーで行きました。
乗馬自体も全く不安なく、何よりも景色がすばらしすぎる！！ジュラシックパークのロケ地になっている渓谷を進んでいるときは、本当に夢のようで、大自然に完全に癒されました。
2時間コースでしか乗馬でここへは訪れないようなので、ぜひとも2時間コースをおすすめします☆

My son his friend and I took the 2 hour ATV tour with Jacob as our guide. It COULDN NOT HAVE BEEN GREATER! The scenery was absolutely incredible and the ride was like being on a roller coaster ride that you have control of. Don't get me wrong it wasn't scary, it was exciting. No I'm in my 50's and I had just as much fun as my son who is 21 and our friend who is 17. This activity just can't be beat!

At first, I thought two hours might be a long time, but once I actually tried horseback riding, it felt like no time at all. Perhaps because they are used to dealing with tourists, the staff was very accommodating, and the arrangements for watching the video about horseback riding were well organized. My family of four is quite experienced with horseback riding, but even complete beginners can enjoy it safely and comfortably. Additionally, during the ride, they provide explanations in both English and Japanese about the locations (scenery) and history, which adds to the experience. We also pass through filming locations from movies like Jurassic Park and Lost, which I think would be a delight for movie fans.

最初は2時間は時間的に長いかな、と思いましたが実際乗馬をしてみればあっという間に感じました。さすがに観光客相手に慣れている為か対応や乗馬に関してのビデオを見る段取り等、うちの家族は４人共乗馬は何度も乗っていて慣れてますが、まったくの初心者でも安全、安心に乗馬が楽しめます。また乗馬中も英語、日本語で場所（景色）や歴史について説明してくれますので楽しめますし、ジュラシック・パークやLOST等のロケ地の中を通りますので映画ファンにはたまらないと思います。

I took my 74 year old mother. We had a great time. The guides were extremely knowledgable and helpful. The food wasn't the best but that wasn't the focus of the trip. It was nice to have real metal silver ware to use while eating our of our box. I highly recommend this trip. My husband and his son will take it in two weeks.

I joined this tour based on my suggestion that horseback riding would be a great way to connect with nature, something we don't usually get to do.

My child just turned eight, which is the perfect age for horseback riding, so I hoped it would be a good experience as we headed to the ranch. It was my daughter's first time seeing a real horse, and she was quite excited. The horseback riding was relaxed and felt like a leisurely stroll, making it perfect for her, and it was really wonderful.
