I participated in this for my honeymoon! The reviews were very good, so my expectations were quite high, but it easily exceeded them. The guide was always sharing various information and was very kind throughout the tour! They also provided warm clothing, so I was able to enjoy the sunset at the cold mountaintop, and the stargazing along the way was fantastic, with clear explanations that were interesting and enjoyable. It was a great tour that I would love to join again if I have the chance! Thank you very much!

Until boarding the submarine waiting at sea, we will travel by boat from the pier. During the journey, the crew members talk about something, but I couldn't understand because I don't speak English...

Inside the submarine, you can listen to explanations in Japanese through headphones.

海で待機している潜水艦に乗るまでは、桟橋から船で移動します。移動中は乗組員さんが何か話してくれるのですが、英語が分からないため理解できず……。

潜水艦の中では、ヘッドフォンで日本語の解説が聞けます。

The view from the ground was a breathtaking sight unlike anything I had ever seen before. The sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea was like something you would see from an airplane, with the sun sinking into a sea of clouds. It was grand and stunningly beautiful!

At 4,200 meters, the summit is higher than Mount Fuji, and I was very worried about altitude sickness. However, the tour operator's careful consideration ensured that I was safe. I could feel my body acclimating during a dinner break at the Onizuka Visitor Center, which is at an elevation of 2,800 meters. We were well-prepared for the cold. Everyone borrowed orange ski wear, and it made for quite a striking photo. Regular visitors can only drive to the Onizuka Center, and it seems that only a few tour companies can take you to the summit from there.

After the sunset, it was finally time for stargazing! With high expectations, we descended 200 meters and looked up at the night sky from a 4,000-meter point... but the moonlight was a bit of a hindrance, and I thought, "Is this it?" The moon was quite bright, being slightly fuller than a first quarter moon.

Even so, the sky was filled with countless stars, with Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Polaris shining brightly, and we could see the Milky Way. The constellation explanations were quite detailed, making it clear why this is a nature school, and it was genuinely interesting. I was told that if I wanted to see only the stars in complete darkness, I should come back on a new moon day, and I understood why many people return for a "revenge" trip.

What was wonderful about Masashi Nature School was their concern for the participants' health, the delicious bento and miso soup, the thoughtful service of warm coffee, tea, and cookies during our cold and tiring breaks, and their photography skills, along with the service of allowing us to download the photos later... perhaps I'm praising them too much?

In any case, it was a thoroughly satisfying tour!

地上からは今までに見た事のない絶景でした。マウナケアの山頂からのサンセットは飛行機から見る様なもので、雲海に日が沈んでいくのです。壮大で息をのむような美しさでした！
4200mの山頂は富士山よりも高く私は高山病がとても心配でした。でも、催行者さんのしっかりとした配慮があり無事でした。標高2800mのオニズカビジターセンターで夕食を兼ねた休息で体が慣れていくのがわかりました。寒さ対策も万全でした。全員オレンジ色のスキーウェアを借りて写真を撮るとちょっと迫力がありました。一般の人がレンタカーで行けるのはこのオニズカセンター迄でここから先の山頂迄は数社のツアー会社しか行けないそうです。
サンセットの後はいよいよ満天の星空観測！と、期待満々で200m下山、4000mのポイントで夜空を見
上げてみると‥‥月明かりが邪魔をしてえっ？こんなモノ？くらいの星だったのです。この日は上弦の月よりも少し膨らんだ月で相当明るい月明かりでした。
それでも空には数えきれない星で金星、土星、火星、北極星は凄く明るく光っていて、天の川も見えました。星座はかなり詳しい解説でネイチャースクールの所以はこれかと言う程本格的で面白かったですね。真っ暗闇で星だけを見たかったら新月の日にリベンジして下さいと言われ納得しました。現にリベンジのリピーターは多いそうです。
マサシネイチャースクールさんの素晴らしかった所は、先ず参加者の体調を気にかけてくれた点、お弁当やお味噌汁がかなり美味しかった点、寒くて疲れた休息に温かいコーヒーや紅茶、クッキーを出してくれる心憎いサービス、そして写真を撮る技術、後で写真をダウンロードさせて貰えるサービス‥‥などなど褒めすぎかな?

とにかく大満足のツアーでした！

It was really great to join a tour to reach the summit of Mauna Kea, as it's difficult to go there on your own. The sunset from the summit was a truly magical sight. As for stargazing, instead of the usual observation from the Onizuka Visitor Center, they took us to the best spot of the day and provided explanations in Japanese, making it very enjoyable and easy to understand.

マウナケア山頂へは個人では行きにくいので、ツアーに参加して本当に良かったです。
山頂からのサンセットはとても幻想的に光景でした。
星空観測についても、よくあるオニヅカビジターセンターからの観測ではなく、その日のベストスポットに連れて行ってくれ、日本語で説明をしてくれるので、とても楽しくわかりやすかったです。

The sunset was amazing!! The view of the sea of clouds spreading out and turning a beautiful orange was truly wonderful. I don't think you can see such a beautiful landscape anywhere else. Also, on this tour, I was moved to see the Subaru Observatory, which Japan takes pride in. After watching the sunset, we did some stargazing!! The moon was out, but it was still very beautiful, and I could see quite a few stars, so I was very satisfied. I definitely recommend everyone to join this experience.

これだけ綺麗な景色は他では見れないと思います。また、このツアーでは日本が誇るすばる展望台も見ことができ感動しました。

The guide was friendly and the explanations were easy to understand. Since we had extra time, we were able to visit a beautiful local beach as well. The sunset at Mauna Kea and the starry sky were truly amazing. I don't have any climbing experience, but it was easy since we could drive to the top. They also lent us warm clothing, which made it comfortable. The lunch was very delicious. I participated alone, but the guide was considerate and took photos for me, and I was able to talk with others on the same tour, which was nice.

I tried upgrading my seat. It was in the center of the second row, making it easy to see. I was able to get my food quickly. The variety of dances from Polynesia, Tahiti, and Fiji was wonderful! (*^^*)

This was by far the best tour we had done in Hawaii. Marcus the tour guide was top notch. Marcus knew so much about the area, the culture, plants, animals and was just a funny great person to be around. You ride in style in the plush Mercedes van. He took you to many different area's and we even got to see lava flowing, served lunch and to end the night a 5 star restaurant. Everything was included in your price of your tour. By far a MUST do while in Hawaii. You will not be disappointed in this tour or Marcus.

I participated in the tour on October 1st. I heard that the chances of seeing the starry sky are only about 10% throughout the year, which raised my expectations quite a bit. I reached the summit of Mauna Kea without suffering from altitude sickness, but there were quite a few clouds, making me wonder if I would fall into that 10%.

The sunset at the summit was blocked by clouds, so it wasn't a particularly moving experience, but the landscape with many observatories was satisfying enough. After that, we moved to a lower area where the chances of seeing stars were higher. As we were moving, the beautiful starry sky began to appear, raising my hopes once again.

The excitement I felt when we moved to a place where we could see the stars and looked up at the sky is something I still can't forget now that I'm back home. Since childhood, I've had a hobby of stargazing (although as an adult, I hardly had time to look at the stars), and I remembered quite a few names of stars and constellations. However, the starry sky I looked up at was completely different from the skies in Japan, with the sheer number of stars and the Milky Way clearly visible.

My wife and I were very satisfied with the dazzling starry sky, where the names of stars and constellations were hard to distinguish. The guide's explanations were also wonderful, and I was impressed by how well they had studied. I was told that if I participated from May to July, I might see the Northern Cross of Cygnus and the Southern Cross, which can only be seen in the Southern Hemisphere, and I thought I would like to participate again as I headed home. Thank you for the wonderful experience of the starry sky.

１０月１日のツアーに参加しました。途中星空が見えないのは、年間１０%程度との話もあり、期待度はかなりUPしました。
高山病にかかることもなく、マウナケアの頂上に着きましたが、かなり雲が多く、１０%に入ってしまうのかと思えました。
頂上での夕日は、雲にさえぎられ、それほど感動する状況ではありませんでしたが、多くの天文台がある風景は、それなりに満足できるものでした。
その後、下の方が星が見える確率が高いということで移動しました。
移動中にきれいな星空が見え出し、ひょっとしたらと、またまた期待度UPです。
星空が見える場所に移動し、空を見上げた時の感動は、帰国した今でも忘れられません。
子供のころから、天体観測が趣味で(成人してからは、ほとんど星を見る時間もありませんでしたが)、星や星座の名前はそれなりに覚えていました。
しかし、見上げた星空は、星の数の多さ、天の川がはっきりと見えること等、日本の星空とはまったく異っていました。
星や、星座名もはっきりしないくらい、星々が光り輝く星空に、女房ともども大満足でした。
また、ガイドの方の解説もすばらしく、よく勉強されているなと感心させられました。
５月から７月ごろ参加すると、白鳥座の北十字星と、南半球しか見えない南十字星が見えるかもと言う解説もあり、また参加したいと思い帰路につきました。
星空の感動、ありがとうございました。

I was deeply moved by the sunset, the star-filled sky afterward, and the Milky Way. Lying on my back in the darkness, listening to the guide's easy-to-understand explanations was so pleasant that I could have listened forever. The snapshot photos taken against the starry sky, which you can't normally capture, are also a precious memory. Please note that there are no restrooms at the stargazing location, so it's best to limit your intake of fluids like coffee beforehand. I personally wanted to go to the restroom towards the end because it got cold...

夕日と、そのあとの満点の星と天の川から大きな感動をもらいました。暗闇に仰向けに寝転んで聞くガイドさんのわかりやすい解説は、いつまでも聞いていたい心地よさがありました。普通では撮影できない星空をバックにしたスナップ写真も大切な記念です。なお、星空観測地点にはトイレがないので事前にコーヒーなどの水分を控えめにしておくこと。私自身、最後のほうは寒くてトイレに行きたかったので…。

The guide was entertaining and it was a lot of fun. The weather was nice, and I was very satisfied to see a beautiful starry sky.

I organized my itinerary to see the Subaru Telescope and the beautiful Milky Way during this time, but at first, I was worried because it was cloudy. However, thanks to the guide's energetic power, the clouds disappeared, and I was able to enjoy a truly wonderful night sky. I was also very impressed that we could have such a fantastic bento and miso soup, along with warm drinks at the Onizuka Center and the summit. It was a fulfilling half-day, and I was able to see Saturn's rings after a long time. I'm looking forward to the photos you took. I felt the thin air at 4,000 meters, and with the guide's appropriate instructions, I was able to enjoy the experience without feeling unwell. I hope to have another opportunity.

天文台すばると美しい天の川を見たくて、この時期にエントリーできるように旅程を組みましたが、最初曇りでどうなることかと気をもみました。しかし、最後はガイドさんの元気なパワーで雲がどこかに飛んで行ってしまってとても素晴らしい夜空を堪能できました。途中のオニズカセンターと山頂で、であんな素晴らしいお弁当とお味噌汁、暖かい飲み物がいただけるなんて大感激です。土星の輪も久しぶりに見ることができてとても充実した半日でした。撮っていただいた写真も楽しみにしています。４０００ｍの空気の薄さを実感でき、ガイドさんに適切なご指導で、気分が悪くなることもなく楽しめました。また、機会があればと思います。

Last year, when I participated in a stargazing tour on Oahu, my guide told me, "If you want to see stars, Hawaii Island is the best." So this time, I joined a stargazing tour on Hawaii Island. The sky was clear, and I was able to see a wonderful starry sky. I also saw a shooting star for the first time. I was worried about altitude sickness, but our guide, Matsuzaki, provided very interesting and accurate advice, so I was able to enjoy the experience without feeling unwell. We took a break for a bento lunch, which was satisfying in both taste and portion size. There were various tour companies available, but I am grateful to have participated in this company's tour. I believe it is due to the high quality of the guide. I received pleasant service that showed care for each individual customer. I highly recommend it. I was informed that it would be good to consider sunset and sunrise tours, taking into account the full moon period, so I wanted to share that as a reference.

昨年オアフ島で星空ツアーに参加した時のガイドさんから「星を見るならハワイ島が良いですよ」と教えていただき、今回ハワイ島の星空ツアーに参加しました。空は良く晴れていて素晴らしい星空を見ることができました。流れ星も初めて見られました。高山病が心配だったのですが、ガイドの松崎さんがとても面白く的確なアドバイスをしてくれたので、体調を崩すことなく最高の思い出ができました。体を慣らすためにお弁当タイムをとったのですが、味も量も満足でした。いろいろなツアー会社がありましたが私はこの会社のツアーに参加できたことに感謝しています。それはガイドさんのクオリティーの高さだと思います。お客一人一人に気配りができた気持ちの良いサービスを受けることができました。ぜひおすすめです。満月の時期を考慮してサンセットとサンライズツアーを考慮すると良いといわれましたので、参考までにお知らせします。

Last year, I participated in late August, but unfortunately, the weather was affected by a hurricane. This time, however, we were blessed with good weather. We had a great time with everyone, enjoying the sunset from 4,200 meters. After soaking in the atmosphere, we descended a bit for stargazing, and observing from the roadside was also wonderful; it had been a long time since I could see the Milky Way clearly with the naked eye. Additionally, we were able to see Saturn through a telescope, along with artificial satellites, shooting stars, and the red flames of Kilauea. I thought I could lie there forever just watching. Amidst all this excitement, the guide's explanations of the constellations were delivered promptly, which deepened the experience even more. I'm glad I participated. Thank you very much. I would like to join again in a different season next time.

昨年は，8月下旬に参加しましたがハリケーンの影響で生憎の天候でしたが今回は天候に恵まれした。4200mからのサンセットをバックに私たちも皆さんと一緒にはしゃいぎました。余韻を残しながら星空観測のために少し下り、路肩での観測はこれまたすばらしく、天の川が肉眼ではっきりと見えるなんて久しぶりのことです。また、望遠鏡で土星がみられ人工衛星、流れ星、キラウエアの赤い炎、このまま寝転んでいつまでも観ていたいおもいました。そして、この感動の中、なんといってもガイドの星座の説明がテキパキとなされ一層深まりました。参加して良かったです。ありがとうございました。次回は季節を変えて参加したいと思います。

Unlike the hotel luau in Honolulu, this one is more intimate. As a result of upgrading my seat, I ended up in a front-row seat near the stage. I was able to enjoy a powerful performance. However, even without the upgrade, the scale is sufficient to have a great time. Before the show started, there were activities in the plaza such as tattoo printing services, hula dance lessons, and a whole roasted pig, which were all fun to participate in. The food was decent, but the drinks were all-you-can-drink. Whenever I go to Hawaii, I participate in a luau, and I really enjoyed this hotel's luau. The hotel luau in Honolulu has many performers and is quite impressive, but this one offers a local atmosphere of the Big Island. I highly recommend it.

ホノルルのホテルルアウと違い、こじんまりとしています。アップグレードの席にした結果、ステージの前の席になりました。迫力あるステージを楽しめました。ただアップグレードしなくてもじゅぶん楽しめる規模です。ショーが始まる前の広場ではタトゥーのプリントサービスやフラダンスのレクチャー、豚の丸焼きなど参加できるものがあり楽しかったです。食事はまあまあですが、飲み物は飲み放題でした。私はハワイに行ったときはルアウに参加するのですが、このホテルのルアウは楽しめました。ホノルルのホテルルアウは出演者も多くそれなりに迫力があり楽しめますが、ハワイ島のローカルな雰囲気が楽しめます。ぜひおすすめです。

Great tour with Jim Cary as guild very funny and knows his history of the town and events.

Fantastic trip, great crew, and the food was delicious!! We were lucky enough to have great weather as well, resulting in smooth sailing and an awesome sunset!!

I was able to fully enjoy the dynamic sunset.
I had special photos taken using the sunset (like making the sunset shine with my fingertips, posing like Kamehameha, jumping, etc.), and I was able to download them as well.
I also enjoyed the starry sky. I was very satisfied to confirm my zodiac sign, Scorpio.
The stargazing seminar was also fantastic!

The tour started with two vans guided by Matsuzaki and Konno. The Subaru Telescope was amazing, and I felt the greatness of Japanese technology through the guide's explanations. The summit was cloudy, and we could occasionally observe stars (since we were at the mercy of nature), but the guide worked hard to find a viewpoint where the Milky Way looked like a sky full of stars. I was very satisfied!

The guide's stories, which didn't quite match the Hawaiian atmosphere, were interesting. At the summit of the 4,000-meter mountain, I realized how thin the air was as even the slightest movement made it hard to breathe. However, that day featured a breathtaking sunset that is rarely seen, with the sun setting in a sky that burned bright red, which was truly wonderful and moving. I was very happy to have my husband take a photo with that backdrop. The stargazing tour didn't have a full sky of stars, but I was satisfied to see the Milky Way stretching long across the sky.

道中ハワイの雰囲気に合わないガイドさんの話が面白かったです。
４０００メートル山頂ではちょっとでも動作を早くしただけで呼吸が
苦しくなり、空気の薄さを実感しました。でもこの日は滅多に見れないほどの
絶景のサンセットだったそうで、真っ赤に燃えた空に太陽が沈む様は本当に
素晴らしく感動しました。それをバックに主人と写真をとって下さったのが
とても嬉しかったです。星空ツアーは満天とはいかなかったですが、天の川が
長ーく見えて満足しました。

I was able to enjoy everything from the 3 PM pickup until returning to the hotel. I had a fulfilling time with the guide's stories during the journey, the meal break at the Onizuka Center, photo opportunities along the way, the sunset, and stargazing.

It was my first time seeing such a beautiful Milky Way, and I don't think I'll have another chance like this in the future. I had an incredibly good experience.

I believe this is something everyone should do at least once.

移動中のガイドさんのお話やオニヅカセンターでの休憩食事、途中での写真タイム、サンセット、星空観測と充実した時間を過ごさせてもらいました。

あんなに綺麗な天の川を見れたのはこれが初めてで、今後もなかなかないんじゃないかとおもいます。
非常にいい経験をさせてもらいました。

My wife, her aunt, and I participated in this activity together. My wife's aunt is 75 years old and it was her first time snorkeling. The large boat was sleek and white, but we were the only Japanese among the staff and other guests, which made us a bit anxious... Although we couldn't communicate well, the staff was kind. My wife's aunt was able to safely experience snorkeling and saw yellow and blue fish. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and a bit windy, causing the boat to sway, and both my wife and her aunt got seasick before lunch, so they couldn't enjoy the delicious hamburgers. We didn't encounter a pod of dolphins, but on the way back to the port, four dolphins appeared at the stern of the boat, which made my wife's aunt very happy.

私達夫婦と妻の叔母の３人で参加しました。叔母は75歳でシュノーケリングは初めてす。真っ白でカッコイイ大型ボートでしたが、スタッフやお客さんの中で日本人は私達だけで不安･･･会話は通じなかったがスタッフは親切でした。叔母さんも無事シュノーケリングを体験し黄色や青い魚を見ました。残念ながら曇りと少し風がありボートが揺れて、昼食前に妻と叔母は船酔いで、美味しいハンバーガーを食べられませんでした。イルカの群れには遭遇できなかったが、帰港途中で船尾に4頭のイルカが現れ、叔母に喜んでもらえました。

I highly recommend this tour.

During the tour, they take photos with a DSLR camera. They capture a lot of moments, including posed shots and candid ones. This is included in the tour price. What impressed me the most was getting a photo taken with the stars! It's something I couldn't capture with my handheld digital camera, so it became a wonderful memory.

ツアー中、一眼レフで写真を撮ってくれます。ポーズしているところやオフショットまでほんとたくさん。それも料金はツアー代に含まれています。感動したのは星と一緒に撮ってもらったこと！手持ちのデジカメでは撮れないのでとても思い出になりました。

This tour was absolutely awesome. Chris and Nick, our guides, were very knowledgeable and fun. They clearly pride themselves on what they do, which makes them stand out from the average. The meals were good, especially the beautiful dinner. We had the steak which was fantastic, and the service was perfect and so friendly. We saw beautiful sights all day, ending at the volcano which gave us a good show. Would do again in a heartbeat. Thanks guys!

The moon was a thin crescent, so without being disturbed by the lights, I was able to fully enjoy the perfectly clear starry sky for the third time. My son and I said, "I wish Mom could have seen this," remembering my wife who passed away last year. I hope many people get to see this.

月が細い三日月だったので、あかりに邪魔されず、正に満天のクリアーな星空を3度目の参加で堪能することがて巻きました。息子と２人「お母さんにも見せたかったね」と昨年亡くなった妻を偲んだ次第です。是非多くの人に見てもらいたいとおもいます。

We visited Hawaii for our honeymoon, wanting to enjoy nature not only on Oahu but also on the Big Island. We participated in this popular tour and were very satisfied. We also joined the sunrise tour early in the morning, participating in both the sunrise and sunset tours in one day. I was unsure if it made sense to join similar tours twice, but I’m glad we did (it was quite physically demanding, though!). During the sunrise tour, there are fewer people at the summit of Mauna Kea, allowing us to quietly enjoy the starry sky and sunrise. Although it was dark and I was sleepy, making it hard to see the scenery around Mauna Kea during the sunrise tour, the sunset tour allowed us to enjoy the views at a leisurely pace. The fact that the sun sets and rises in different places, and the starry sky looks different, made it worthwhile to see both. Personally, I was very happy to have seen the starry sky twice!

新婚旅行でハワイを訪れ、オアフ島だけでなく、ハワイ島で自然を満喫したいという思いでハワイ島を訪れました。そして人気のあるこのツアーに参加しましたが、大満足でした。私達は早朝にサンライズツアーにも参加しており、一日にサンライズとサンセット両方のツアーに参加しました。二回も同じようなツアーに参加する意味があるのか疑問でしたが、両方のツアーに参加してよかったと思います（体力的に結構ハードですが笑）。サンライズツアーの時間帯ではマウナケア山頂に行く人が少ないため、静かに星空やサンライズを見ることができます。サンライズツアーでは暗くて眠くてあまりマウナケア周辺の景色を見ることができませんでしたが、サンセットツアーではゆっくり景色を楽しむことができます。そして太陽が沈む、出てくる場所が違う、星空の顔が違うということで二度見る価値はありました。個人的には星空を二回も見れたとことが大変よかったです！！

Since we are 64 and 63 years old, we arrived on the Big Island two days ago to consider our health, and we took it easy the day before climbing Mauna Kea.

We had a guide who provided information about the history of Hawaii Island and its unique flora and fauna, and we were able to enjoy overcoming the bumpy roads.

I was worried about altitude sickness, but by following the guide's specific advice like "Don't sleep here / Let's take care of the restroom / Put on gloves and a knit hat at this point," I had no issues.

I was able to remember and record things like the "flower of connection" and "silversword," which I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't participated in the tour.

The stargazing using the reflecting telescope next to the Onizuka Center was a wonderful lecture, and I recommend this tour even for those who are not interested in astronomy. The fact that we could download the photos taken by the guide also added to the value of the experience.

"We want to strengthen our legs and aim to see the lava flowing into the sea next time," we discussed as an elderly couple. If that opportunity arises, please let us know!

64歳＆63歳ですので体調を考慮して、2日前にビッグアイランドに到着し、マウナケア登頂前日もゆっくり過ごしました。
ハワイ島の歴史や固有動植物の案内があり、凸凹道も楽しく克服できました。
不安だった高山病ですが、ガイドさんの「ここでは寝ないでください／トイレを済ませましょう／手袋とニット帽はこの時点で」等、具体的なアドバイスに従うことで問題ありませんでした。

ツアーに参加しなければ目に入ることのなかった【縁結びの花】や【銀剣草】なども記憶と記録に残すことができました。

オニヅカセンター横での反射望遠鏡を使った天体観測は素晴らしいレクチャーで、天体に興味がない人にもお勧めのツアーです。
ガイドさんが撮影して下さった写真をダウンロードできる点もお得感を倍増させます。

「足腰を鍛えて、次回は溶岩が海に流れ落ちるところを目指したいね。」

Jim Cary was our tour guide and he did a great job. He was extremely knowledgable of the Hawaiian and Polanisian culture which made the day that much better. The vehicle was not as comfortable as I expected a Mercedes to be, definitely the only downfall of the whole trip. All in all, a high 9/10

Guide was very informative. He talked about everything we were seeing and was easy to listen to. The only concern I had was that the tour company needs to adjust expected arrival times to account for other pick ups and traffic.
