The meeting place was changed the day before the tour. It was quite far from Kailua, which was a hassle. Also, the whales didn't show up; they just floated in the sea. This time, I decided to stay a bit longer on the Big Island of Hawaii. My goal is to relax as much as possible, but just staying cooped up in a condominium would be boring. I searched for a special tour and finally decided on a helicopter tour! The thought of seeing the Big Island from the sky made my heart race, but there were several challenges to consider.

Therefore, I recommend incorporating this into your travel budget from the start. Of course, this goes without saying for those who are wealthy. Please do experience it.

Regarding point 2: There is no such thing as zero risk in anything, but I believe the probability of a helicopter accident is significantly lower compared to the risks of driving a rental car in unfamiliar territory. In reality, the helicopter was stylish, had a wide view, and provided a smooth, refreshing flight. The noise disappears when you wear headphones, and everyone, including the pilot, can converse. This also made for a fun time, and I ended up making friends with the couple I flew with. The decision to operate the flight is made based on the weather conditions of the flight route for that day, and in fact, flights after ours were canceled. Naturally, dangerous flights are never conducted.

①料金が高め ②ヘリコプターは危険ではないか ③何もヘリでなくとも車で十分ではないか ④実施が天候に左右される ⑤日本語パイロットのヘリに乗れるか(英語がダメなので) ⑥ツアーのパターンはどれを選べば良いのか ⑦そもそもキラウエアの噴火は大丈夫か 、などなど。これらを何とかクリアして素晴らしい時間を手にした報告です。

①について:ハワイ島の魅力はなんと言っても多彩な自然です。地球は生きていて今も進化し続けていることを実感するにはヘリコプターしかない！と、清水の舞台から飛び降りる気持ちで予約しました(涙) 実際に飛んでみるとそれはもう期待以上でした。他のツアーと比較すると確かに高いです。しかし時間単価ではなくて、「感動単価」で考えると安い！というのが体験しての実感です。ハワイ島では高価な買い物などできませんし、する必要もありません。ですから、最初から旅行費用に組み入れて準備することをお勧めします。もちろんお金持ちの方には言わずもがなです。ぜひ体験して下さい。
②について:何事も危険ゼロは無いですが、ヘリ事故の確率は、レンタカーで慣れない運転にチャレンジするのに比べたら比較にならないくらい低いと思います。実際、機体もかっこよくて、視界も広く、揺れもなく、とても爽快なフライトを楽しめました。騒音はヘッドホンを着けると消えますし、パイロットを含め乗員全員で会話ができます。これも楽しい時間となり、同乗したご夫妻とお友達になってしまいました。運行の可否は、フライト時刻毎にその日の飛行ルートの気象状況を見て決められ、実際に、私たちの次の時間以降のフライトは中止になりました。当たり前ですが危険なフライトは決してしません。

The pilot was handsome!
I was able to learn about the magnificence of Kilauea Volcano and the volcanic island of Hawaii.
Also, seeing the waterfalls in the Waikoloa area from the sea was incredible!
We actually landed right under the waterfall, and experiencing its grandeur and the healing it brings was the best. My wife, who accompanied me, was the most moved!

I signed up for this tour because I wanted to see the lava and ocean entry from the sky, but unfortunately, I couldn't see them. Still, I was able to witness the crater and the areas where lava spread after the eruption, feeling the power of nature.

The tour takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to leisurely circle the island, allowing you to fully enjoy the shape of the island, its terrain, the greenery, and the blue sea. Among the highlights, the Kohala Coast, Waipi'o Valley, and Waimauna Valley were breathtaking and truly moving. I regretted not adding the landing option at the waterfall, as it would have been amazing to land in that valley. Next time I participate, I want to try landing as well.

Here are some tips for those who will be joining the tour soon:
1. There is only one Japanese pilot, so it's better to assume that you will have a foreign pilot even if you request one. (I also made a request and inquired beforehand, but all three helicopters that flew at the same time that day had foreign pilots.)
2. Passengers can ask the pilot questions during the flight, but if you don't speak English, you might feel stressed as you won't be able to ask about things you're curious about or don't understand in the explanations. It’s a good idea to be able to express your requests in English.
3. There is a note advising to wear black clothing for better photos, but I recommend wearing long sleeves and long pants. Skin color on your arms and legs can reflect on the window, making it difficult to take nice pictures.
4. You can purchase a USB data of the video from your helicopter for about $42 (credit card accepted). It includes the music that was playing in the helicopter, which changes according to the scenery, making it very effective. 3．綺麗に写真を撮るために黒い服を着ていくよう注意書きがありますが、長そで長ズボンにすることをお勧めします。腕や足の肌色が窓に映ってしまい綺麗に撮れません。
4．自身の乗ったヘリの中の様子や見た景色の動画USBデータを＄42程度で購入ができます（クレカ使用可）。ヘリ内でかかっていた音楽（見えている景色に合わせて音楽も変えられていて非常に効果的です）と共に自身が見た綺麗な映像が残せるので非常にお薦めです。

I was really glad to have Mr. Mochizuki as my guide. Initially, my goal was to see Kilauea from above, but the views from the mountainside in the latter half were even more amazing than I had imagined. Entering the valley and looking down at the waterfall flowing into the sea from directly above is a sight you can only see from a helicopter. At first, I wondered why it was cheaper from Hilo, but after inquiring, I was convinced by the response that the experience was longer and richer in content, so I went ahead and booked it. In the end, I never felt that the price was too high. If you're hesitating, I think you can feel assured about that. As Mr. Mochizuki mentioned, it was a wonderful experience that I would recommend everyone to try at least once.

望月さんにガイドしてもらえたのが本当に良かったです。
当初はキラウェアを上から見たいと思ったのが目的でしたが、後半の山側が想像以上に素晴らしかったです。
谷の中に入って行ったり、海に流れ落ちる滝を真上から見下ろすのはヘリからでしか見ることのない景色ですね。

Fortunately, the weather was great, and I could see the lava well, but what moved me even more than the lava was the Kohala Falls. Seeing multiple waterfalls with a drop of about 900 meters made me tear up at the beauty of the Earth. I thought I would like to bring my family next time. I highly recommend everyone to experience this at least once. I was so moved that I forgot to take pictures of Kohala.

I was looking forward to seeing the lava of Kilauea on the Big Island from an angle that can't be seen from the ground, but I was a bit disappointed as it was just smoke. However, when we entered Waipi'o Valley, it was breathtaking. I was very moved.

The pilot was also very nice.

As others in the group mentioned, we were hoping for a Japanese or Japanese-speaking pilot, but we had an English speaker instead. I think they should contact us in advance if they can't meet our request. If I had known, I would have chosen another company. It was a very good flight and the staff were great, so it was a bit disappointing to see that lack of transparency. Because of that, I am deducting one star.

地上からでは見られない角度からのハワイ島、ｷﾗｳｪｱの溶岩が楽しみだったのですが煙のみで少しがっかりでした。
でも、ﾜｲﾋﾟｵ渓谷に入って行ったときには圧巻。とても感激でした。
ﾊﾟｲﾛｯﾄの方もとても感じが良かったです。

The helicopter tour was wonderful and moving, with great weather. However, I had requested a Japanese guide, and that was not the case. I understood that it wasn't guaranteed, but I thought my request should have been communicated to the operating company, so it would have been nice to receive an explanation that "there is no Japanese guide." Perhaps I was expecting too much since I have always had enjoyable experiences with VELTRA, but I was really looking forward to having a Japanese guide, so it was disappointing.

One thing that was a bit disappointing was that I couldn't see any lava. Even though I was looking down into the crater, it was just a big hole because it had calmed down. I thought I would be able to see the lava entering the sea, but it seems that either there was never a plan for that, or it was no longer possible due to the calm.

The optional trip down to the base of the waterfall was amazing. I can't really gauge the true scale, but it felt like being at the bottom of Kegon Falls, looking up from below. There was no one else around, so it felt like a private waterfall. There's only enough space for one helicopter to land, and I don't think you can get there by car. I highly recommend this optional tour.

The helicopter guide and pilot was a Japanese person. It seems that the group I happened to be with had booked through the guide's website, which is why a Japanese guide was assigned. Requesting a Japanese guide might not be very effective.

Lastly, it was my first time on a helicopter, and if you're prone to motion sickness, it might be a good idea to take some medication. The vibrations from the helicopter can make you feel queasy. The flight itself wasn't scary, and even though it was my first time, I didn't feel particularly moved by it (laughs).

少しガッカリしたことは溶岩が見れなかったこと。火口を上から見てるのに、沈静化したためにただの大きな穴でした。溶岩が海に入っていくところが見れるのかと思っていたら、もともとそんな予定がなかったのか、沈静化したことでなくなったなのか、見れませんでした。
オプショナルの滝の麓に降りるやつは凄かったです。本当の規模はわかりませんが、華厳の滝の滝つぼ付近に降りたってしたから上を見るような感じです。私たち以外誰もいませんのでプライベート滝？です。ヘリコプター1台が降り立つスペースしかないし、車では来れないと思います。このオプショナルはオススメです。
ヘリコプターのガイド兼操縦士さんは日本人の方でした。どうやらたまたま一緒に乗り合わせたグループの方がガイドさんのホームページから予約されたため、日本人の方がガイドに着いたようです。日本語ガイドの希望を出しても、あまり意味が無いかもです。
最後に、ヘリコプターに初めて乗りましたが、酔いやすい人は酔い止め飲んだ方がいいかもです。ヘリコプターの振動が酔いそうになります。飛行自体は怖くもなく、初めて乗ったのですが、あまり感動はなかったです(笑)

We participated as a family of four with our 8-year-old and 10-year-old sons. I was a bit worried about whether it would be okay for my 8-year-old, but they lent us helmets, and the cowgirl explained how to handle the horses clearly and slowly. Perhaps because it was after a typhoon, the wind was strong, but we enjoyed the vast ranch spreading out in all directions, the beautiful coastline, and many sheep and cows, fully experiencing nature. There were cowgirls at the front and back who kept a close eye on the children, and they helped us choose friendly horses for my husband and kids, making it feel like they were always by our side. This is truly amazing; it's an experience that is unimaginable in Japan. We thoroughly enjoyed the two-hour course.

8歳、10歳の息子達と家族4人で参加しました。8歳で本当に大丈夫かとやや不安もありましたが、ヘルメットも貸してくださり、カウガールのお姉さんがはっきりゆっくり馬の扱い方をを説明してくれました。台風の後だったせいか風は強かったですが、360度一面に広がる牧場と、美しい海岸線と沢山の羊に牛に、大自然を満喫。先頭と後方にカウガールがついてくれてしっかり子供を見てくれたし、馬も主人と子供とで仲の良い馬を選んでくれていつもそばにいるような感じでした。
これは本当にすごいです、日本では到底考えられない体験です。2時間コースで満喫しました。

I participated with my high school daughter and husband. This was our third time riding, following the Grand Canyon and Parker Ranch on the Big Island, and we are still beginners. Before we rode, they explained how to ride and safety precautions very slowly and clearly in English. During the ride, they also talked about the ranch and the Big Island, engaging us in conversation, and they guided us in a very friendly and safe manner. We participated in a tour from Kona with two adults and three children (6th grade, 3rd grade, and kindergarten) that included a visit to Waipi'o Valley and Kīlauea Volcano with a waterfall landing option. Our pilot was Toshi, a Japanese pilot (Mochizuki). We had informed them during the booking process that we preferred a Japanese pilot. There were two American couples and our family of five, making a total of seven people, so Toshi kindly explained everything in both English and Japanese. Since the children understood English, he switched to primarily English explanations partway through. Toshi is usually off on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

As for the tour itself, I was surprised at how stable the helicopter was; it didn't shake or make much noise. Just in case, the children took motion sickness medication, but it seemed unnecessary. In fact, the younger two got sleepy from the medication and almost fell asleep. Of course, individual experiences may vary, but I think it's much less likely to cause motion sickness than a boat. As of August, Kīlauea Volcano's activity has decreased, and we couldn't see any lava flows. However, we could see magma bubbling near the crater. More than that, the scenery around the valley was absolutely stunning. Personally, I recommend the views here even more. Additionally, we opted for the landing near the waterfall, and I highly recommend this. You can enjoy a waterfall that can only be accessed by helicopter all to yourself.

After the tour, you can purchase a video of the helicopter ride for $40, which includes footage from both inside and outside the helicopter. They save the video on a USB stick for you. The music played through the headphones during the tour matched the visuals perfectly, and I’m glad we made the purchase.

The price isn't cheap, but I believe it's worth it. Definitely enjoy the breathtaking views with the waterfall landing option.

ツアー内容ですが、まず、ヘリコプターがとても安定しており、揺れない、うるさくないことにびっくり。念のため子供達は酔い止めを飲んでいましたが、必要なかったようです。逆に下2人は酔い止めで眠くなり、ほぼ寝ていました。。もちろん個人差はあると思いますが、船よりは全然酔いにくいと思います。キラウエア火山は8月現在活動が低下しており、溶岩流は見えませんでした。火口付近にマグマがボコボコしている様子は見えました。それよりも、渓谷付近の景色が最高でした。個人的にはこちらの景色の方がおススメです。あと、滝の近くに着陸するオプションを申し込んだのですが、これは絶対おススメです。ヘリコプターでしかアプローチできない滝を独り占めできます。
ツアーが終わると、オフィスにてツアー中のヘリ内外を撮影したビデオを$40で購入できます。USBスティックにビデオを保存して渡してくれます。こちらもツアー中にヘッドホンから流れてくる音楽と映像がマッチしており、購入して良かったです。
お値段は安くはないですが、それだけの価値はあると思います。是非、滝への着陸オプションで絶景を堪能ください。

I was very satisfied, not realizing that the time spent on the helicopter was 2 hours (I thought it would be around 2 hours including orientation). In fact, I was picked up from the hotel at 11:20 and returned before 3:00.

We were able to see the northern and eastern parts of the Big Island (so many waterfalls!), flying over Hilo and all the way to the ocean entry in the southern part. I also got to see the currently erupting crater of Kilauea and the flowing lava in abundance.

I had a wonderful experience. It was my first time in a helicopter, so I was honestly a bit worried at first, but I found it to be a stable ride. The kids were so comfortable with the vibrations that they even fell asleep... haha. It seems that the number of Japanese guests is still quite low, as we were among the few on that day, but there is a Japanese pilot on staff, so I recommend it even if you're not good at English. The volcano is impressive, but the Waipi'o Valley is simply breathtaking.

We were lucky as the weather was cool and cloudy, but did not rain. Our guides were terrific. We had our "safety" talks and felt very comfortable with the safety harness and double clips used. Our party had ziplined before in Colorado and Costa Rica, so we had comparisons. Our guides were entertaining, knowledgeable and very patient. We did see wildlife - a hawk and of course, the mongoose. We did not want it to end.

When we reached the canyon I had been most looking forward to, I was moved by the guide's thoughtful gesture of lowering his voice to let us soak in the scenery quietly. Watching the pilot from behind the cockpit made me think how wonderful it is to be a pilot! It was a very rare experience to actually see the lava's gooey texture. I'm glad my mother, who was scared of helicopters, was able to ride comfortably. Above all, Toshi's love for the Big Island really came through. I want to work hard in Tokyo and return to the Big Island! Thank you very much for this experience.
