You can enjoy a horseback riding experience in the wonderfully beautiful nature shown in the photos. The horses are all gentle and well-trained, and even as a beginner, I had a great time riding.
There are Japanese versions of the notices and forms available on-site.
The guide speaks only in English, but they talk very slowly and clearly.
Wearing a helmet while riding is optional, but it's best to wear one.
The ranch is located at an altitude of about 1000 meters, and it can get quite cold when the wind blows or it rains. They can lend you a jacket, but make sure to prepare for the cold as well.

This was my second helicopter tour, but it was my first time sitting next to the pilot. The view was wide and I highly recommend it. You can see down very well, so this tour offered great views of the waterfalls and canyons. I think 50 minutes is just the right length.

The pilot was very kind and cheerful. He seemed to be a former military pilot, so his skills were definitely impressive. All the staff were also very friendly. There are many wonderful views on the Big Island that you can't see from a car or land, so I think taking a helicopter tour to see them from the sky is a great experience. I've heard that during periods of volcanic eruptions, reservations fill up quickly and it's hard to get a spot. Definitely give it a try!

I think Japanese visitors might get confused during the initial check-in. This is because the parking gate is closed, and you have to open it yourself and close it again. There is no guidance for this.

初心者でもレベルに合わせ、他の参加者と一緒に体験できます。1時間以上、コハラ山・丘を海を見ながら、そして馬と話しながらゆっくりと乗馬します。本当に楽しいです。

For the tour departing at 10:30, we needed to arrive at the heliport an hour in advance. The heliport is located near Waikoloa. We arrived at 9:30, checked in, and then watched a video. When the time came, we took a tour of the Big Island, flying counterclockwise. It was about a two-hour helicopter tour. The pilot, who is from Massachusetts, provided guidance in a mix of Japanese and English. There were a total of seven of us on board: four Japanese, the pilot, and two Americans. It was very helpful that the guide spoke Japanese.

We participated as a family of four with our 9-year-old and 11-year-old elementary school children! It was everyone's first time riding horses, so we were quite nervous, but we were able to enjoy a relaxing horseback ride on well-behaved horses without any major troubles.

The instructions were mainly in English, so the kids participated with almost no understanding, asking, "What are they saying?" But it was manageable. There was a Japanese explanation at the reception that outlined the basic rules, so those who are not confident in English might feel a bit more at ease after reading it. Additionally, if the horses don’t listen, the staff members accompanying us quickly help to correct the situation, which is reassuring.

They also take photos of each group along the way (don’t forget to bring your own camera or smartphone!). The 1.5-hour ride was quite fulfilling. The beautiful scenery of the vast grounds made it a great memory. I recommend this activity as a way to experience the great nature of the Big Island of Hawaii.

1.5時間でかなり乗りごたえがありました。広大な敷地の景色の良さもあっていい思い出になりました、ハワイ島の大自然を感じられるアクティビティとしてオススメです。

We were very lucky to sail on a lovely evening with lots of whales surrounding us and they were quite active. The crew were great, we enjoyed the snacks and drinks. I previously participated in whale watching on Oahu, but I hardly saw any whales at that time. This time, however, I was able to see them one after another from early on. On the way back, dolphins came around the boat and even showed us some jumps, making it the best whale watching experience ever.

I was worried that it might be too cold at such a high altitude and that my winter gear wouldn't be sufficient, but they provided parkas and warm jackets, allowing for a comfortable horseback riding experience. This was my third time horseback riding on the Big Island of Hawaii, and the scenery was beautiful, the horses were all well-behaved, and although the staff spoke only English, they spoke clearly and slowly, making it easy to understand. I feel that this horseback riding experience was the best one yet.

We experienced this with four friends. Our friends sat in the front row next to the pilot, while my husband and I were in the back right side. Shortly after takeoff, we headed north from above the coastline of Waikoloa towards the Kohala Mountains. We were amazed by the beauty of Waikoloa where we were staying, and the view of Maui from the sea was also deeply moving. It was all of our first time on a helicopter, and I thought the fear would be overwhelming, but as we ascended along the mountain slopes, we were able to enjoy it with a moderate sense of tension. The beauty of Waipi'o Valley was stunning, and I wanted to land and explore, but since it was a short course this time, we just circled without landing. (Next time, I would like to have lunch there.) Lastly, the staff were kind, friendly, and we had a great time. (One of the female staff members looked just like my mother when she was younger, which made me laugh.)

I participated in a 2.5-hour tour in the morning session. There were 12 participants from various countries, and we were the only Japanese attendees. The guides were two women.

I was anxious because I hardly speak English, but the guide, Jackie, was kind and spoke slowly using gestures, occasionally mixing in some Japanese to check on us. There was also a Japanese version of the consent form.

Based on our riding experience, we were able to choose a horse that suited us well. I rode Stormy, who has also been ridden by Jun Hasegawa! We started with a briefing, gave the horse some water, and then set off!

The horseback riding took place on a vast area where we walked and ran, and along the way, we saw Japanese wagyu and cedar trees, with the guide providing information. The weather and scenery were great, and it felt wonderful. Although the land was really expansive, the 2.5 hours flew by. If you're afraid of running, you can also go at a slow walk. There are spots along the way where you can take group photos with beautiful scenery.

When running, you kick the horse, and when stopping, you pull the reins. As long as you keep your heels down while riding, you should be fine.

It was truly a fulfilling 2.5 hours, an amazing experience that you can only have in a vast place like Hawaii Island. I definitely want to do it again.

乗馬は、とても広大な土地で歩いたり、走ったり、途中和牛がいたり、杉の木があったりガイドもして貰えました。天気も景色も良くて、とても気持ちが良かったです。本当に広い土地でしたが、2.5時間があっという間でした。走るのが怖ければ、ゆっくり歩くこともできます。途中景色が良いスポットでグループ単位で写真撮影もして貰えます。

走らせる時は馬を蹴り、止まる時はロープを引っ張り、馬に乗っている時に踵を下にすることを気をつければ、ある程度大丈夫だと思います。

本当に充実した2.5時間で、ハワイ島のような広大な場所でしか体験できないような素晴らしい体験でした。また絶対にやりたいです。

ガイドのお二人と参加者の方とお馬に感謝です。ありがとうございました。

I had my first horseback riding experience. Since all the explanations were in English and the other participants were also foreigners, I couldn't catch everything and felt a bit anxious, but I had a great time.

Riding the horse through the grasslands, running at times, and climbing hills was thrilling and very enjoyable. While walking beside the ranch and watching the cows and horses, I even spotted wild pigs in the distance. The weather was nice, and the scenery was beautiful. At the end, I was able to take pictures with the sea and mountains in the background, which made for great memories. The contrast between the sky and the grasslands was stunning (just be careful of sunburn!).

When I checked in a little before 9 AM, I was a bit confused because the parking gate was closed, but after checking in, I smoothly rented a helmet, boots, and a jacket, and it didn't take long for the guide to help me choose a horse and get mounted.

Riding along with the guide across the vast grounds during lunch was very refreshing. My horse was Oliver, who had stylish striped hair, and my wife rode Vodka, a chestnut horse; both were great horses.
