This time, I couldn't see the sunset (due to the bad weather from Hurricane Kiko), but I was able to see the stars. The summit is worth visiting just to see the observatories. The guides include some who can speak Japanese, making it a good tour (even those who can't speak Japanese are studying the language). However, please be aware that the summit is over 4000 meters high. The oxygen levels are low. Mount Fuji is 3700 meters, you know!

The guide spoke English and did their best to communicate while translating in broken phrases. It was reassuring that jackets and oxygen tanks were available at all times. Meals and water were provided at my own timing, and I could eat and drink in the vehicle during transit, which was better than I expected in terms of taste. The travel time is long, but we stopped at shooting spots along the way, so it wasn't boring. The scenery is wonderful, but depending on the brightness of the moon, it can be difficult to see the stars, so checking the lunar calendar and adjusting the schedule would be best.

It doesn't take much time for the Manta rays to show up, swimming with these giant peaceful fish is amazing experience.

We have limited snorkeling experience so it is tiring to float 45 minutes. We are exhausted when returning to the boat. It worths the experience.

Tip: Bring hot drink and chocolate bar with you!

The crew are willing to help with sea sickness and exhaustion, but they only have bottled water. The nearest place to get any replenish is Longs Drugs which requires several minutes of driving.

The good: Black Sand Beach and Volcanoes National Park are as good as they can be. Halema'uma'u Crater is amazing.

The average: The Coffee Farm we visited is a small one. We saw the coffee plants, but didn't see much about how the coffee is produced as the machines are taken apart and stored. Food is ok-ish, lunch is fast-food bento, dinner is at a small restaurant.

The unfortunate: We didn't see any star due to the cloudy weather. If you want to do stargazing, join a stargazing group as they will have better planning and equipment.

My first zipline experience! There were about ten participants, and at first, we received help from the instructor to put on the necessary gear like harnesses and helmets. After that, we took a van up to the starting point on the hill. Once we arrived, we received a briefing on safety precautions for ziplining and then descended the first zipline over grass to confirm our basic movements. From there, we continued at quite a speed over a valley with three waterfalls and above the river. We took breaks along the way for hydration and fruit, enjoying the thrill of eight ziplines, including the longest one over 600 meters. (Originally there were nine, but the eighth zipline was under maintenance, so we did a total of eight.) The speed and height were a bit scary at first, but by the end, I was able to enjoy the scenery. Some experienced adults and children even went upside down while zipping, having a great time.

They picked us up from Waikoloa, and after a break at the visitor center for altitude acclimatization, we made our way to the summit of Mauna Kea. With the guide's explanations, I was able to deepen my understanding of the history of the Big Island and important points about Mauna Kea.

Although the summit was quite crowded, we found a recommended spot by the guide and enjoyed the sunset without anyone obstructing our view. During the stargazing afterward, we were able to look at the moon through a telescope while sipping hot cocoa, and the guide explained the constellations. I had heard that there were few Japanese tourists, so I was expecting an English tour, but luckily, we had a Japanese guide (Shoyo) because it was summer vacation. Not only could he speak Japanese, but he also had a wealth of knowledge, and I learned a lot of different things. He drove safely even on the rough mountain roads, making it an overall安心 tour.
