I decided to change to a premium seat at the last minute because I wanted to see as close as possible. I admit I was at fault for making this plan on the day I arrived, but since the hotel was on the premises and the seats were assigned, I thought it would be fine even if I was a bit late. However, when I got there, there was already a group in front of me, making it very difficult to see. Even though they advertised free drinks, they didn't come to take my order when I called out (they did go to other foreign guests), and I wasn't given a lei either. I regretted changing my seat many times. I also had a bad experience at the Hilton in Oahu, and I think this was the worst. I was really looking forward to it...

It was my first tour, and I was very satisfied. In my opinion, there were some unexpected things, so I will write down some points to note and things that were good below.

Points to note: The meeting place at the marina is very easy to find, but it can be busy with cars, so please allow extra time for travel. The captain and staff speak English, but even if you don't speak English, they provide a Japanese instruction manual, so you don't need to worry. The boat goes fast and bounces a lot, so please prepare bags that can be closed to prevent your belongings from flying away, and make sure to have hats, glasses, and sunglasses that won't be blown away by the wind. There are restrooms on the boat, but you won't stop along the way, so please use the facilities at the port. The boat sways a lot, so I recommend having breakfast early. Please keep the promises not to stand on the reef and not to climb on the Captain Cook monument. There are no showers at the port, so I cannot recommend it for those who want to shower immediately after the tour.

Good points: If you're lucky, you can swim with a pod of 20 to 30 dolphins all of a sudden. It's very moving. Even if you're not used to snorkeling or can't dive, the dolphins won't wait for you, but they will come back or another pod will arrive, so just don't rush. It's very touching to see the dolphins swimming up close. At the Captain Cook diving point, you can see the clear, beautiful sea, the reef, and many fish. Please take your time and enjoy while taking breaks.

注意点：マリーナの待ち合わせ場所はとてもわかりやすいですが、車の多い時間帯ですので時間に余裕を持って移動下さい。船長やスタッフの話は英語ですが英語が出来なくても日本語の注意書きの説明書をくれるので気にしなくても大丈夫です。ボートのスピードが速くよく跳ねるので荷物が飛んで行かないように口を締めることできる袋、帽子、メガネ、サングラスも風で飛ばないものを準備下さい。お手洗いは船内にも、途中で立寄ることもないので港で済ませてください。船がとても揺れるので朝食は早めに済ませておくことをすすめます。リーフでは立たない事、キャプテン・クックの碑には上がらないこと等の約束を守ってください。港にシャワーはないので終わってすぐシャワーを浴びたい人にはおススメできません。

良かった点：運がよければいきなり２０～３０頭のイルカの群れと泳げます。とても感動します。シュノーケルに慣れなくても潜れなくてもイルカ達は待ってくれませんがまた戻ってくるか、違う群れが来ますのでとにかく焦らないことです。間近に見るイルカの泳ぐ姿にとても感動します。キャプテン・クックのダイビングポイントでは澄んだ美しい海が広がりリーフと多くの魚たちを見ることができます。休憩を挟みながらじっくり時間を使い楽しんでください。
途中、サンドイッチとフルーツ、スナック、飲み物が出ます。景色とランチを楽しめます。
港に戻る途中海岸の地層を見たりイルカの群れに多く遭遇したりジャンプして遊ぶイルカやウミガメも見れ楽しみは尽きることはありませんでした。

We participated as a couple aged 60 and 59. There were six of us on the boat: two foreign women and two Japanese couples. At first, the two foreigners were nervous, but watching their preparations, even we, who only understand a little English, were able to fly without any issues.

We were able to see the boat look like a tiny dot from high up, and we could clearly see the beautiful differences in the colors of the sea. It was a 10-minute flight, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. I was initially anxious about participating due to my fear of heights, but I was able to join without any particular problems.

I had signed up to participate on May 12, but my friend who was accompanying me canceled at the last minute due to health issues. My husband and two sisters participated, and they said it was great because dolphins came very close to them both on the way to and from the snorkeling point. They also mentioned that the boat was large and comfortable, but it was a problem that all the explanations were in English, so you need to understand at least some English. It seems there were no other Japanese participants.

Let's arrive a little before the scheduled time! The lines can be longer than expected, so it's recommended to come early.

We were looking forward to this as the best part of our vacation, but we're very disappointed. We arrived at the dock area, and out guide told us it might be a little cold and windy out but that it would not affect our tour of we still wanted to go out. We decided to go, and kayaked a mile and a half through very choppy waters. Exhausted by the time we reached the sea caves, our guide turns to us and tells us it is too rough to do any other part of the tour and we have to turn back. We ate the snacks they had packed and paddled back. No refund offered and no one let us know before hand that we would not get to do half the tour. The guide was very nice, but there should be some sort of refund policy if only a partial refund....

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Kona! Our guide Nate gave us lots of great information on the history of the island, the places we were visiting, and general Hawaiin activities. We kayaked in the ocean for about 1.5 hours total, so this tour is definitely for active people. We explored some sea caves, did some cliff diving, and snorkeled in a cove, and met the local eel as well.

We had a great time on this excursion. The ride on the raft to the snorkeling sites was exhilarating and relaxing as we took in the beauty of the Kona landscape. We chose this excursion because we were able to snorkel at two different bays ( including Captain Cook's monument). The only disappointment was not seeing more different types of fishes (saw about 5-7 different types per area) and more fishes overall. Our captain and shipmate took good care of our group of 9. The Captain gave us a history of the many caves and cliffs that we visited. They also provided us with fresh fruit, soda, chips, and cookies during the rides. Bonus was seeing a couple of dolphins and mountain goats. A fun afternoon snorkeling made this trip memorable.

The voucher stated to meet at Kamehameha Court, but the map indicated the main entrance. Initially, I waited at the entrance, but something felt off, so I went directly to the luau venue, which turned out to be Kamehameha Court. I should have ignored the map.

When I checked in, the staff member put a lei around my neck and took a photo. I later purchased this photo at the hotel's photo corner.

The venue opened at 5:30 PM, and we were guided to our seats. We were seated in the middle row, and since there were two people in the front row, we took the next row. Looking around, there were only a few people who seemed to be Japanese, while most of the surrounding guests appeared to be American.

Since we had premium seats, we were given priority to go get food first, and if we wanted drinks, we could just tell the butler, and they would bring them to us. The meal included Hawaiian dishes, which I prioritized trying, and they were decent in taste. The kalua pig was delicious, and the ahi poke tasted as I expected, but the ube didn’t quite suit my palate. There was a bit of heavy rain during the meal, but by the time we finished eating, the rain had stopped.

After we settled down with our meals, the show began. It combined hula and fire dancing, and the emcee guided the proceedings. Being close to the stage made it quite thrilling. At one point, I was chosen by a dancer to go up on stage and dance hula with them. I could only move my body somewhat awkwardly, but I managed to get through it by mimicking what I saw.

Personally, I think it would have been better if the show started a bit earlier during the meal to shorten the overall time, but I believe it was an enjoyable show. By the end, I found myself humming the phrase, "There's no place like Hawaii."

食事にはハワイの料理などもあり、そちらを優先的に食べてみましたが、そこそこの味でした。
カイルアピッグは美味しかったし、アヒポキも予想していた味でしたが、ウベはちょっと口に合いませんでした。
食事中に少し雨が強くなることもありましたが、食事が終わるころには雨は止みました。

食事も一段落したころ、ショーが始まりました。
ショーはフラとファイアーダンスを組み合わせたもので、司会の進行で進められていきます。ステージに近いので、迫力があります。
途中、ダンサーに指名されてステージに上がり、一緒にフラを踊ることになりました。適当に体を動かすしかできなかったですが、見よう見真似でなんとか乗り切りました。

個人的には、食事の途中からショーが始まるようにしてもう少し全体を時間を短くしてもらったほうが良かったとは思いますが、楽しめるショーではないかと思います。終わるころには、「There's no place like Hawaii」のフレーズを口ずさんでいました。

I was very moved because I wanted to see the dinner and Hawaiian show. Since I stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, it was convenient to move around the property. I received a lei, and there was all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat. The luau and hula were impressive and wonderful!

I wasn't very satisfied with the show itself since I do hula dancing, but the location was outstanding, and I enjoyed the atmosphere at the venue with the beautiful sunset. I recommend arriving early as there is quite a line before the doors open.

A 9-year-old child participated. I chose this program because it was safe with shallow interactions for kids and I thought it would also help with English learning. However, in the first half, there was a long quiz about aquatic creatures while showing pictures indoors, and my child, who doesn't understand English well, seemed to dislike being mixed in with native children. On the other hand, the time spent in the dolphin pool was somewhat longer, and in the end, my child said it was fun. However, it seems that in other programs, groups with many children were also having shallow interactions, so perhaps those programs would have been better.

It rained half the way the pickup spot to the valley so we were worried that we weren't going to get to go. But as it turned out 15 minutes after we got there the sun came out the clouds went away and it turned out to be a beautiful day in the valley we had a great ride. We got to cross rivers and streams and see beautiful waterfalls. Our horses were well-mannered and everyone in our group had a wonderful ride. Our guides were very knowledgeable about valley and the history. This is my second trip riding in this Valley and I would do it again

Other than my spouse and I, everyone was American, and it was a bit difficult to understand the conversation, which was disappointing. However, the captain drove the boat like a roller coaster, and it was thrilling and fun. We saw a lot of dolphins, and I was happy to see a whale as well. While searching for a snorkeling tour on the Big Island, I discovered this tour. The tagline "Thrilling Rafting Adventure" caught my attention, and I checked the details, which seemed quite intense! I decided to participate, looking forward to ocean rafting more than snorkeling. After arriving on the Big Island, I had the hotel’s travel desk call to confirm my participation and get detailed meeting location information. On the day of the tour, I drove to Honokohau Marina, which was easier to find than I expected, and I arrived without getting lost. Once all the participants gathered, it was time to board. Before that, the captain asked me, "Where are you from? Do you speak English?" I replied, "A little." The entire tour was in English, and it seemed like the captain and staff were not particularly inclined to communicate more than necessary with participants who were not native English speakers. By the way, the introduction mentioned that "the captain would provide a written translation of the spot descriptions in Japanese before boarding, so you can enjoy the activities without a language barrier!" However, nothing was provided, and the tour started. As we set off, the boat gradually picked up speed, and the bouncing over the waves became more pronounced. I was excited to see how fast we would go. There was a rope stretched across the floor to prevent anyone from falling through, and I sat on the edge of the boat, holding onto the rope, feeling the wind, sunlight, and the blue sea directly—it was incredibly liberating! I wanted to keep going like this forever! But my backside was hurting! (laughs) A note for women: the shorts worn over a bikini sit right under your backside when you sit on the edge of the boat, and with each bounce, the back of your thighs rub against it. I recommend wearing knee-length pants. Also, they advised us to remove hats and towels to prevent them from flying away, so be sure to apply sunscreen thoroughly. At the snorkeling point, snacks, juice, and sandwiches were provided, and you could relax and eat on the boat or quickly eat and float in the sea. The coastal cliffs were breathtakingly spectacular. There might be a stronger sense of being out of place due to the few Japanese participants, but those who don’t mind can enjoy themselves thoroughly.

ハワイ島でのシュノーケリングツアーを探していると、このツアーを発見。「スリル満点のラフティングアドベンチャー」のうたい文句に引かれて詳細を確認、結構激しいらしい♪シュノーケリングよりもオーシャンラフティングに期待を膨らませて参加することに。ハワイ島に到着後、参加確認の電話をホテルの旅行会社のデスクからかけてもらい、詳しい集合位置を教えてもらう。当日はレンタカーでホノコハウ・マリーナへ。思ったよりわかりやすい場所で迷うことなく到着。ツアー参加者が揃うといよいよ乗船。その前に船長から「どこから来た？英語できる？」と聞かれ「少しね」と答える。ツアー中は全て英語、船長やスタッフにゆっくり話したり、英語が母国語ではない参加者と必要以上のコミュニケーションを取ろうという気はなさそう。ちなみに「キャプテンが英語で語るスポットの説明などを日本語に翻訳した文章を乗船前に渡してくれるので、言葉の壁なくアクティビティをお楽しみいただけます！」と紹介文にあったが、特に何もないままツアースタート。出港すると徐々にボートの速度が上がり、波を越える際のバウンドも大きくなる。どこまで速くなるのかワクワク。足元の床にロープが張ってあり、足の指を通して落ちないようにする。ボートの淵に腰かけて、ロープにつかまっているだけなので、風も、陽の光も、海の青も全てダイレクトに感じて解放感抜群！ずーっとこのまま進んで行きたい！！けどお尻が痛い！！(笑)女性の方への注意事項としては、ビキニの上に履く短パン、ボートの淵に腰かけた時にちょうどお尻の下にきて、バウンドする度に太ももの裏が擦れます。膝丈くらいのパンツを履くことをおススメします。あと、帽子やタオルは飛ばないように外してと言われるので、日焼け止めは厳重に。シュノーケリングポイントではスナックやジュース、サンドイッチが配られて、ボート上でのんびり食べてもいいし、さっさと食べてひたすら海に浮いていてもよし。断崖絶壁の海岸線は迫力満点の絶景。参加者に日本人が少ないとアウェイ感は強めかもしれないけど、気にしない人は十分に楽しめるかと。

In 2013, I became hooked on horseback riding at Mendes Ranch on Maui, and I took lessons in Japan (about 110 rides) and obtained a level 4 certification. This was my second attempt at trail riding in Hawaii! There were eight people in the group, but I was the only Japanese. Even though I couldn't speak the language, I had a great time. A white woman from the mainland U.S. complimented me in broken Japanese, saying, "You're good at horseback riding," which really surprised me. I had an amazing time cantering across the grasslands.

This was my third snorkeling trip with the Fair Wind to Kealakekua Bay. Once again, another flawlessly executed experience! The crew is very friendly and accommodating, the food and drinks are consistently good, and the snorkeling and Snuba experiences are top-notch.
