Floating in the night sea for 45 minutes while being tossed by the waves, even while holding onto something, takes quite a bit of stamina. I wondered if I really needed to wear a life jacket. The day we went, the waves might have been a bit rough.

I took motion sickness medication, but the waves were so rough that I got seasick and returned to the boat a little earlier than others. At the very least, it's a good idea to remember some English like "I wanna go back to the boat. I'm tired." The staff will help you when returning, but for the few meters until you grab the rope, you'll have to swim on your own in open water, which could be tough if you're not a strong swimmer... I think it's better to return with a bit of energy left. It was a more demanding activity than I expected.

The manta rays came quite close, which was great. Since seaweed and debris can get tangled in your hair while floating, wearing a swim cap helps prevent that and also makes the mask straps more comfortable. The English explanations weren't difficult, so you'll be fine.

マンタそのものは、すぐ近くまで来てくれて良かったです。海に浮いている藻や屑が髪に絡まるため、水泳用の帽子をかぶっておくと、引っ掛かりにくいし、マスクのゴムも痛くないです。英語の説明は、難しい事は言っていないので、大丈夫です。

I had some anxiety about the announcements being in English only, but on that day, there happened to be a Japanese group with us, and the guide translated for us, so there were no problems at all.

Kealakekua Bay was amazing. The sea was so beautiful that my 7-year-old and 4-year-old said it was the most fun they’ve ever had. Even my husband, who isn’t very comfortable in the water, really enjoyed it. The slide was quite high and not suitable for small children, but my older child took on the challenge. I tried it too, but... young guys were sliding down like crazy.

The hamburgers for lunch were delicious, and the boat didn’t rock too much, which was great. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any dolphins, but we will definitely go again next time. I highly recommend it.

英語のアナウンスのみと言うことで多少の不安がありましたがこの日はたまたま日本の団体が一緒でガイドさんが通訳してくれたので何の問題もありませんでした。

ケアラクア湾は最高でした。
とにかく海が綺麗で７歳と４歳の子供達も一番楽しかったと言ってます。
あまり海が得意でない夫もとっても楽しんでました。
滑り台は結構な高さがあり、小さい子には不向きですが上の子はチャレンジしてました。私もやりましたが・・・・
若い男子がガンガンすべってました。
お昼のハンバーガーもおいしくて船もあまり揺れず、よかったです。
残念ながらイルカには会えなかったけど次もまた絶対行きます。お勧めです。

I went with my 6-year-old and 4-year-old, and both of them enjoyed floating in the sea. The activities were enjoyable for the kids as well. We were the only Japanese people there, but it wasn't a problem at all. Grandpa just watched, but the boat was large enough to provide shade, so waiting was comfortable.

We were looking forward to our first adventure in Hawaii... an official Luau. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed the history of the story telling. However, one downside was that we were instructed and confirmed to go to one hotel and when we arrived early to check in were told there was no show there that night... after going through channels we were told to go to another hotel and we checked in without issue. The evening was pleasant, we met other families and enjoyed the fun. The food was good but nothing too special but the atmosphere was pleasant, the breeze warm and the mai tai's cold! We enjoyed the experience overall.

My first time on the Big Island. It's a tropical island just a half-hour flight from Oahu. I was amazed by the island that looked like it was covered in chocolate from the airplane. Once there, it was all about relaxing and taking it easy. The marina with the Zodiac tour was a continuous source of excitement for someone like me who loves machines and mechanics. I was captivated by the moving lathes and milling machines in the repair shop. A round of applause for the behind-the-scenes workers at the resort. The American workers in their uniforms looked cool too.

Now, the rafting on the boat was a blast, zooming over the waves with a cheerful captain and staff. It was simply fun. Not only did we speed along, but we were also gentle with the dolphins and whales we spotted in the waves. The staff mentioned that it's rare to see whales so close. (The timing was so perfect, it felt like they were kept in the Zodiac.) The snorkeling was incredible, probably due to the clear waters around the lava coast. The bay had little current, making it enjoyable for both kids and adults. On the way back, there was no time to get seasick as we sped back. Thank you for a wonderful day. Mahalo.

I participated with my husband and son. I had done rafting in a river before, but I had never done it in the ocean, so I was excited to see what it would be like. Since it was my first time going to the meeting point, I was a bit anxious, but I was able to find it right away as directed. The captain only spoke English, but we received detailed printed information in advance, so I didn't have any issues. However, I thought it would have been more fun if I understood the language better.

When we set off, I thought it was a rafting and snorkeling tour, but we encountered a whale once and dolphins two times. It was very exciting since I hadn't expected it. The dolphins jumped while spinning their bodies several times. They were very playful. Seeing a whale in person was also a first-time experience for me, and it was very moving. We enjoyed rafting both to and from the location, and we had plenty of time for snorkeling, about an hour and a half, with lots of fish around. It's rare to find a tour that offers such experiences. I think the cost performance is good as well. I highly recommend it.

However, the boat stops at certain points, and the waves can make you feel a bit nauseous. It moves quickly, so it's okay, but since you spend five hours on the boat or in the sea, if you're worried, it's a good idea to take motion sickness medication. We participated with our children who are in the second and third grades. Although we couldn't communicate in Japanese, we managed just fine. Thanks to taking motion sickness medication before boarding, we didn't get seasick and arrived at the snorkeling spot. When they asked for our fin sizes, it was hard to communicate in centimeters, so I recommend checking the sizes in inches beforehand. They also provided floaties and other floating devices. The cheeseburger for lunch was delicious.

On the way back, we were accompanied by a lot of dolphins, and they were even right under the boat, which really impressed the kids. As parents, we felt like kids again and enjoyed jumping into the sea from the boat's slide, taking our time to relax.

We were quite tired, so we ended up taking a nap at the hotel in the afternoon. I think it's better not to schedule anything after that.

When I first boarded the Zodiac rubber boat, I was a bit shaky and squealed, but gradually I started to feel exhilarated no matter how fast we went or how much we bounced. I knew I couldn't keep my hat on, but even the hood of my rash guard came off.

We jumped into the deep blue sea, far from land. The water was crystal clear up to my feet, but beyond that, it turned a deep navy blue. I wondered just how deep it was. The water felt so soothing that when I relaxed, my body floated effortlessly. It was an incredible sense of liberation.

Snorkeling around the Captain Cook Monument was also fantastic. It felt like being thrown into a tropical fish tank. However, for us Japanese, it might have been a bit too long. Watching families from Russia and the mainland continue to jump in and have fun made me wonder how much longer we would be there. (Sorry if I seem a bit out of sync.)

The captain kept speaking in English, but I couldn't see his face and the wind made it hard to understand. It wasn't a problem, though. I thought it might be fun to understand and respond like a native, but I don't really do that even in Japanese.

Towards the end, we encountered a pod of dolphins. They seemed so free. I was very satisfied.

Despite being careful about sunburn, my thighs and knees (from sitting) ended up getting sunburned bright red. For those who will participate in the future, wearing a long dress that is easy to put on and take off over your swimsuit might be safer. If you're concerned about getting tanned, this activity might not be for you.

ゴムボートのゾディアック号に最初乗った時は少々揺れてもキャーキャーしていましたがだんだんスピードがどんなに出ても飛び跳ねても爽快に感じるようになりました。帽子はかぶっていられないことはわかっていましたがラッシュガードのフードも脱げてしまいます。

陸地から遠く離れ海のど真ん中でただただ碧い海に飛び込みました。足もとまでくっきり透き通って見えるのにその先は濃紺、いったいどれほどの深さなのでしょう。とろりと感じるぐらいの水、脱力すると簡単に体は浮きます。ものすごい解放感。


キャプテンクック記念碑の周りでのスノーケリングもすばらしかった。まるで熱帯魚の水槽の中に放り込まれたようでした。でも我々日本人には冗長すぎる時間かもしれません。いつまでもはしゃいで飛び込んだりし続けるロシアやメインランドからの家族を船の上から見ながらいつまでここにいるのかなと思うようになります。（ノリが悪いのかすみません）

キャプテンがしゃべりつづけてる英語は顔も見ていないし風にも吹かれているしまるで理解できませんね~。それで困ることはありません。理解できてネイティブ並みに反応できたら楽しいかとも思いますが（もともと日本語でもそういう乗り突っ込みはしないですからね）

最後のころにイルカの群れに会えました。自由を感じるイルカたちでした。大満足でしたね。

日焼けに気をつけていたにもかかわらず腿がひざが（座っているから）真っ赤に火傷してしまいました。これから参加される方は水着の上に簡単に脱ぎ着できるなが~いワンピを着て参加すると安全かもしれません。美白を気にする人は参加無理です。

Due to the sunset, we gathered at the office in the shopping center at 6:30 PM and set sail at 7 PM. After checking in at the office in the shopping center and renting wetsuits, we moved to the boat ramp at Keauhou Bay individually. The water was quite cold, but the beautiful and powerful swimming of the manta rays made it worth it. It was a good decision to stay at the Sheraton within walking distance since we disbanded while still wet. We were the only Japanese participants.

8月初めに参加し、その日は3匹のマンタが、ぶつかるかな？・・というくらい近くで見えました。
日没の関係と思いますが、18時半ショッピングセンター内の事務所集合、19時出航でした。
ショッピングセンター内事務所でチェックインをして、ウエットスーツを借りた後は、
各自でケアウホウ湾のボートランプへ移動しました。
水中は、かなり寒かったですが、マンタの泳ぐ美しい姿と迫力は、それ以上のものがありました。
濡れたまま解散なので、ホテルを徒歩圏内のシェラトンにして、正解でした。
日本人参加者は、私たちだけでした。

The snorkeling tour we usually join involves a large boat that takes us to the location, where we enjoy ourselves, but this tour felt like the attractions began as soon as we boarded the boat. The boat was thrilling, and during the hour of bouncing over the waves, I had to hold on tightly or I felt like I might be thrown off. Once we arrived at the Captain Cook Memorial, it was truly a snorkeling paradise. The water was very clear, allowing us to see deep down to the ocean floor, so anyone can expect to see at least 15 different types of tropical fish. It's a tour that the kids can enjoy as well.

今回は家族４人で参加しました。いつも参加するシュノーケリングツアーは大きな船でポイントまで移動して、その場で楽しんでいるんですが、このツアーはボートに乗り込んだ時から既にアトラクションが始まっているという感じです。ボートは迫力満点で、波間をすり抜けて１時間くらい揺られている間ずっとしっかり捕まっていないと振り落とされそうになります。また、キャプテンクック記念碑の所に到着したらまさにシュノーケルバラダイスです。透明度は高く海底の深くまで見渡せますので、誰でも最低１５種類くらいの熱帯魚を観ることが出来ます。子供達にも十分楽しめるツアーです。

On July 23, I participated with my two children. Since they are elementary school students, we were looking for a tour where Japanese was spoken, and we ended up here.

As everyone had said, Kevin and Noni were very kind and attentive, and they seemed very experienced in handling children. We enjoyed both kayaking and snorkeling.

Especially for snorkeling, it was the first time for my children to be in 6 to 7 meters deep water. At first, they looked very nervous, but within five minutes, they were floating on their own. I believe this was not only due to the clear sea, corals, and small fish, but also because of Kevin and Noni's excellent guidance.

Additionally, while regular beaches tend to have sand that stirs up and clouds the water, being near the lava coast meant there was none of that, and the visibility was great. Joining the tour was definitely the right choice.

When going as just a family, there can be various concerns, but with a tour, I felt reassured, so I would like to participate again.

特にシュノーケリングは6m、7mの海の深さに初めてだった子供たちは、最初とても緊張した様子でしたが、5分も経たないうちに一人でプカプカしてました。
これも澄んだ海とサンゴと小魚たちはもちろんですが、ケビンさん、ノニさんの誘導が良かったのではと感じました。

また、普通の浜辺では砂が撒きあがって濁る傾向ですが、溶岩の海岸近くであればそれもなく、良く見えるとのことで、ツアーに参加して大正解でした。

家族だけで行くと、何かと不安ですが、ツアーだと安心できるので、また、参加したいと思います。

Guides fun and helpful. Snoring was great...lots of colorful fish. Kayaking was tiring and tough for a beginner, but it was doable. Wear water shoes and a waterproof camera and cash for a tip.

I had a great time. I thought it would be rafting, but I stayed completely dry and had a comfortable ride. We set out with three boats, and thanks to the captain's unique judgment, we were able to explore various courses. Of course, at certain points, all three boats came together, so it felt safe. The guides communicated entirely in English, but printed materials in Japanese were distributed beforehand, so even if you're not good at conversation, you'll be fine. The boat's speed was full throttle, so it was quite fast. Moreover, with the rolling, it was thrilling. You might worry about seasickness, but while moving, you can feel the wind all over your body, so you completely forget about it. Still, for those who are anxious, taking medication beforehand would be perfect. I thought snorkeling would be the same no matter where you swim, but the underwater world in places without people was completely different. After swimming here, the ocean in Waikiki felt just like Japan's Enoshima, and I didn't feel like diving. Please make sure to enter the waters of Kealakekua Bay.

とても楽しかったです。ラフティングと思ってましたが、身体は全く濡れることなく、快適なライディングでした。３隻での出港となりましたが、キャプテンの独自の判断でいろんなコースを巡ることが出来ました。もちろん、ポイントポイントでは３隻そろうのですから安心です。ガイドは全て英語でなされますが、事前に日本語で書かれたプリントが配布されますので、会話が不得意でも大丈夫です。ボートの速度はアクセル全開なので相当速いです。しかも、ローリング付きなのでスリル満点です。船酔いの心配があるかもしれませんが、走行中は全身で風を感じることができるので完全に忘れてしまいます。それでも不安な人は薬を飲んでおけば完璧でしょう。シュノーケリングはどこで泳いでも変わらないと思っていましたが、人が入らないところの水中は全く別世界でした。ここで泳いだら、ワイキキの海は日本の江ノ島と同じで、潜る気にはなりません。ぜひともケアラケクア湾の海には入って下さい。

I never expected it to be so thrilling when we set off from the bay. The boat moved slowly at first, and I was excited to see dolphins up close. I participated in a tour on July 24, 2011. My husband and I had done kayaking once during our honeymoon in Cairns, but it was the first time for our children. We had Kevin, who speaks fluent Japanese and has lived in Japan for 30 years, and Noni, teaching us one-on-one, so we had no worries at all! When I thought the kids might be a little hesitant, Kevin was considerate and took their hands to change the experience into snorkeling, which they enjoyed. I appreciate the thoughtful attention, possibly from his experience in Japan. During break time, there were plenty of snacks and pineapple juice, so we were all full! This tour is enjoyable for beginners, repeat visitors, families, and friends alike! Also, even if you're a beginner in English conversation, Kevin is there to help. Our family has become repeat participants in this tour and we want to join again.

As someone who has visited Hawaii 30 times, I highly recommend it! If you read this comment, please consider joining!

My friend and I participated in an underwater cave exploration plan. On that day, there were only four participants: the two of us and one couple. The instructors were Kevin and his wife (who is Japanese), and both were fluent in Japanese, so there were no language barriers at all. They provided us with very attentive support.

After we set off, we found ourselves surrounded by a completely empty, deep blue sea. It felt like we had the ocean all to ourselves. It was a truly wonderful experience.

However, be careful when jumping off the cliffs! We had a light-hearted attitude about wanting to jump, but... if you underestimate it, you might end up in pain. The view from up high was beautiful, but standing on the edge of the cliff, it was higher than I expected, and it took a bit of courage to jump... It was a serious jump, for sure (laughs). If you don't jump straight in, you might get hurt. I lost my balance and landed on my rear—ouch! It really hurt (tears). Only those who are confident should give it a try!

Overall, it was a lot of fun, so I highly recommend it! Next time, I think I’ll participate without jumping.

この日の参加者は、私たち２名とカップル１組、合計４名のみでした。
インストラクターはケビンとその奥様（日本人）で、どちらも日本語ＯＫです。なので言葉の壁はまったく問題なし。
お二人には、とても丁寧にサポートしていただきました。
出発して少し経つと誰もいない真っ青な海が広がっていました。まるで私たちだけの貸切の海のようでした。
とっても素敵な体験ができました。

ただ、崖からの飛び込みは要注意！！
軽~い気持ちでジャンプを希望した私たちでしたが・・・。
甘く見ていると痛い目にあいます。
高いところからの景色はとってもきれいだったのですが、いざ崖の上に立ってみると思ったより高く、飛び込むにはちょっと勇気が・・・。かなり真剣ジャンプですよ（笑）。
まっすぐに飛び込まないと痛い目にあいます。
私は、バランスを崩しおしりからドボ~ン！かなり痛かったです（涙）。
自信のある人のみチャレンジしてね！！

でも、総合的にはとっても楽しかったのでお勧めです☆
次回は、飛び込みなしで参加したいと思います♪

Liked how this was in a bay...not in come choppy ocean with tons of waves and where I feel like I am having to fight just to stay upright...no way, this was nothing like that. It felt almost like I was back home at the lake and really peacefully just gliding through the waters.

And the bay itself is really pretty. Then the snorkel section of the trip was really fun too. To get in and see fish and wildlife I had never seen before was exciting.

Overall it was a really wonderful time in Hawaii and made a highlight of my vacation. Mahalo.

I chose this plan because I wanted to do both kayaking and snorkeling. It was a casual half-day course. Since it was my first time on the Big Island and I was moving around by rental car, I was a bit anxious about joining a tour without transportation included, but this was the only one with a Japanese-speaking guide.

Once we arrived at the meeting point without any issues, we received instructions on how to paddle a kayak and then headed out to sea. The guides were a couple, and both of them (the wife is Japanese) spoke fluent Japanese, so I felt completely at ease. I was satisfied that we could paddle for a long time. Although the snorkeling experience didn't have as many fish as I encountered in Palau, I was more than comforted by the personalities of the two guides, the color of the sea, and the surrounding scenery.

The kayaking was comfortable, and I was able to experience getting in and out of the kayak on the water for the first time. Since it was just the two of us participating this time (they usually accommodate small groups), it felt less like joining a tour and more like receiving warm hospitality from acquaintances, allowing us to have a very relaxing time. I highly recommend this tour!

恵まれませんでしたが、それ以上にガイドさんお二人の
お人柄や海の色、周りの景色に癒されました。

カヤックも乗り心地？すわり心地がよかったです。
はじめて海の上で乗り降りも体験できました。
今回は私達二人だけの参加だったので（いつも少人数対応とのこと）、
なんだかツアーに参加したというより
知り合いに温かいもてなしを受けたような感じで、

The perfect choice for our family of four! My husband and I weren't too sure at first if our kids would behave for this trip, but we were so glad we went. Not only did the kids behave....they loved it! They couldn't get enough of the colorful fish and sea critters. And the time was perfect...enough to see alot, yet not too long for the kids to get too restless or bored at all. A great choice for us.

Snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay had very high visibility and was quite satisfying. In Hawaii, Hanauma Bay on Oahu is famous for snorkeling, and I have experienced it several times, but the visibility at Kealakekua Bay surpassed my experiences at Hanauma.
Ocean rafting is quite bumpy and fast, so it's almost impossible to wear a hat on the boat. Don't forget facial sunscreen. Especially after snorkeling, the sunscreen washes off, which can lead to serious sunburn.

The cave was a bit disappointing. It was so small that we only paddled in 3 feet and turned around.
We actually snorkeled in a bay with cliffs. You were able to climb up and jump off a 30 foot cliff.

They had great snacks up on the cliff: fresh pinapple, cookies, chocolate, cheese and drinks.

The staff was very laid back. We had 3 tour guides for our trip that seemed to not stress about anything. We had one couple in our group that paddled away from the main group and the staff didn't seem concerned about it.

The kayak/snorkeling adventure was a lot of fun. I was prepared to kayak, but it was still a LOT of work. In total, you end up kayaking for close to two hours. Then we snorkeled for close to an hour or more. Would NOT recommend if you cannot kayak for that long or if you have small kids that cannot help paddle. Just be prepared.

The guides were nice and kept pace in the front with the leaders and in the rear with the slowest of the group. No one was left behind, which was nice. However, at the front of the group, we did do a lot of waiting for others. We went to a few sea caves and then went to a spot to snorkel and have snacks. The snacks were nice, the fresh pineapple was the best by far!

I did not find anything unique about this tour though. I felt like the tour guides have given the same "WOW you guys seem adventerous, should we take them here....or not?" talk a thousand times. Was kind of corny. But the activity was exactly as described and both my husband and I

I had a very enjoyable time.
They also speak Japanese (one of the two staff members is Japanese, and the other is fluent in Japanese), and the staff's service was excellent.
If you're going to do sea kayaking in Hawaii, I highly recommend it.

The weather was clear on the day of the tour, and I was really excited. It was a tour fitting for our 20th wedding anniversary. About five minutes after departure, we encountered a large group of dolphins, which was amazing! They seemed to be jumping around the boat as if they were waiting for us.

After arriving at the snorkeling point, we had lunchtime on the boat. I was a bit confused since it was my first time snorkeling, but with the staff's advice, I was able to enter the water with confidence. Underwater, it was mystical with coral reefs and schools of tropical fish. On the way back, we also encountered a whale, making the tour absolutely fantastic. Since the boat had no roof, make sure to take precautions against sunburn!

当日は天気も快晴でとってもワクワクしていきました。
結婚２０年の記念にふさわしいツアーでした。
出発して５分位した所でイルカの大群に遭遇して感動！ツアーの船を待って居たかのように船の周りでジャンプを繰り返していました。
シュノーケリングポイントに到着後船上でランチタイム
初めてのシュノーケリングで戸惑いも有りましたがスタッフのアドバイスで安心して海に入ることが出来ました。
水中では珊瑚礁や熱帯魚の群れで神秘的でした。
帰りの道中クジラにも遭遇してツアーは最高でした。
船には屋根が無いので日焼け対策は万全に！
