Due to traffic (not indicated by Google Maps) we were running late. I called the boat office and they would not hold the boat for me for 7 minutes, as that is all we needed after the traffic picked up to get to the pier. Extremely disappointed! It was our last night in Hawaii so we couldn't make it up. $450 in the air. Hopefully Veltra will understand and issue a refund.

We have been coming here for quite a while and have attended more luaus than I can count. The island breeze luau is the best. What makes this one great is the history of the island that is part of the program. Plus the buffet is the best one around. And just like in real estate, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!!!!
We recently moved here so a luau is always on the agenda when friends come. We still get as excited now as the first one we ever saw.

This was my first stay at Hilton. Since I wanted to see a traditional show during this trip, I experienced the Luau & Hula Hawaiian Show. I reserved a premium seat, and I had the best position right in the middle of the front row! The show included traditional performances, unique acts, and fire dancing, and I was very satisfied with the content. The food was delicious too. I definitely recommend it if you're staying at Hilton.

After reading everyone's reviews, we decided not to upgrade our seats and lined up in front of the reception about 30 minutes early to wait for it to open. Naturally, there weren't many people lining up that early, so we were first in line. As a result, we were guided to the best seats in the general area, which had a great view. The food was just okay.

This might be true for shows everywhere, but even though this is Hawaii, I was a bit disappointed that there were more revealing Tahitian dances than elegant Hawaiian hula. However, the final fire knife dance is always a highlight, no matter how many times you see it.

This cruise is just as advertised, a nicely narrated cruise down the southern coast from Kailua-Kona to Capt. Cook's monument. We had amazing visits from the spinner dolphins, had drinks and appetizers on the way out to the cove, and a local guitarist playing for us throughout the trip. The dinner was good, there was plenty to eat for everybody. The sunset was also very beautiful.

I had reserved standard seats, so I checked in early and waited for the opening at 5:30 PM. As a result, I was guided to standard seats close to the stage.
Looking around, I noticed there were few Japanese people, which made me feel like I was abroad.
The buffet line started with the premium seats, so I had to wait quite a bit. The buffet offered a variety of dishes, including Hawaiian cuisine, and the portions were generous.
The hula dance and fire dance shows were impressive. The engaging female host guided the show, and the Western audience was really into her talk. I realized I need to improve my English skills.
Overall, I had a very satisfying time with the show, the food, and the atmosphere around me.

　周りを見ても日本人は少なく、海外に来たなと感じました。

I decided to change to a premium seat at the last minute because I wanted to see as close as possible. I admit I was at fault for making this plan on the day I arrived, but since the hotel was on the premises and the seats were assigned, I thought it would be fine even if I was a bit late. However, when I got there, there was already a group in front of me, making it very difficult to see. Even though they advertised free drinks, they didn't come to take my order when I called out (they did go to other foreign guests), and I wasn't given a lei either. I regretted changing my seat many times. I also had a bad experience at the Hilton in Oahu, and I think this was the worst. I was really looking forward to it...

I had signed up to participate on May 12, but my friend who was accompanying me canceled at the last minute due to health issues. My husband and two sisters participated, and they said it was great because dolphins came very close to them both on the way to and from the snorkeling point. They also mentioned that the boat was large and comfortable, but it was a problem that all the explanations were in English, so you need to understand at least some English. It seems there were no other Japanese participants.

Let's arrive a little before the scheduled time! The lines can be longer than expected, so it's recommended to come early.

You'll line up neatly until the time, and then you'll be guided to your seat with a drink in hand. They will ask if you prefer to sit side by side or facing each other, so choose according to your preference!

Although we had regular seats, if possible, I recommend splurging a bit for the premium seating. It seems to come with snacks and better service. Also, there will be an early signal for the meal.

The dining is buffet style, but initially, the order is determined by your seating, so if you're at the back, just wait for your turn!

The whole roasted pig is exciting when it comes out, but the aroma is a bit strong and might be more than expected... it varies by person.

It was a genuinely enjoyable show. You can see the sunset from the left side of the stage, so be sure to have your camera ready and time it right! It's a must-see.

The voucher stated to meet at Kamehameha Court, but the map indicated the main entrance. Initially, I waited at the entrance, but something felt off, so I went directly to the luau venue, which turned out to be Kamehameha Court. I should have ignored the map.

When I checked in, the staff member put a lei around my neck and took a photo. I later purchased this photo at the hotel's photo corner.

The venue opened at 5:30 PM, and we were guided to our seats. We were seated in the middle row, and since there were two people in the front row, we took the next row. Looking around, there were only a few people who seemed to be Japanese, while most of the surrounding guests appeared to be American.

Since we had premium seats, we were given priority to go get food first, and if we wanted drinks, we could just tell the butler, and they would bring them to us. The meal included Hawaiian dishes, which I prioritized trying, and they were decent in taste. The kalua pig was delicious, and the ahi poke tasted as I expected, but the ube didn’t quite suit my palate. There was a bit of heavy rain during the meal, but by the time we finished eating, the rain had stopped.

After we settled down with our meals, the show began. It combined hula and fire dancing, and the emcee guided the proceedings. Being close to the stage made it quite thrilling. At one point, I was chosen by a dancer to go up on stage and dance hula with them. I could only move my body somewhat awkwardly, but I managed to get through it by mimicking what I saw.

Personally, I think it would have been better if the show started a bit earlier during the meal to shorten the overall time, but I believe it was an enjoyable show. By the end, I found myself humming the phrase, "There's no place like Hawaii."

食事にはハワイの料理などもあり、そちらを優先的に食べてみましたが、そこそこの味でした。
カイルアピッグは美味しかったし、アヒポキも予想していた味でしたが、ウベはちょっと口に合いませんでした。
食事中に少し雨が強くなることもありましたが、食事が終わるころには雨は止みました。

食事も一段落したころ、ショーが始まりました。
ショーはフラとファイアーダンスを組み合わせたもので、司会の進行で進められていきます。ステージに近いので、迫力があります。
途中、ダンサーに指名されてステージに上がり、一緒にフラを踊ることになりました。適当に体を動かすしかできなかったですが、見よう見真似でなんとか乗り切りました。

個人的には、食事の途中からショーが始まるようにしてもう少し全体を時間を短くしてもらったほうが良かったとは思いますが、楽しめるショーではないかと思います。終わるころには、「There's no place like Hawaii」のフレーズを口ずさんでいました。

I wasn't very satisfied with the show itself since I do hula dancing, but the location was outstanding, and I enjoyed the atmosphere at the venue with the beautiful sunset. I recommend arriving early as there is quite a line before the doors open.

I found out about this activity by chance at the hotel where I was staying and signed up on-site. There were few Japanese tourists, and the host was speaking in English, but I think you can have a great time just dancing!
