The staff were very knowledgeable about the dolphins and spoke Japanese very well. They explained how to behave to see the dolphins better, and I was able to see many of them. Had a great time! The crew (Bill and Sam) were so friendly and informative. We really enjoyed the tour of the coastline we were given between sites and all local history tidbits along the way. The captain was always certain to take us to a spot with calm waters and good visibility. Saw so many green sea turtles. Highly recommend Sea quest.

The captain and staff were both women. They were very kind to us.

There were many dolphins, even more than in Oahu, and we were able to swim with mother and baby dolphins.

There were four participants in total: my family and a woman from Europe or America. It felt very private.

The snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay was also amazing.

I hope we can preserve this nature forever.

We participated with our elementary school-aged children. My wife and kids were a bit unsure about snorkeling in the open ocean for the first time, but thanks to our Japanese guide Daisuke, the whole family was able to enjoy it. We are very grateful. Although there were no prescription masks for the kids, we were still able to see dolphins without glasses (they were that close). When I asked the kids about their favorite memory in Hawaii, they said it was meeting the dolphins on this tour. We would love to use this service again if we have the opportunity.

I came to Hawaii Island from Japan, excited for a vacation! This was my first trip to Hawaii, and I spent a full week on the island. Living in nature was incredibly refreshing.

We stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village condominium. Since there was no shuttle service to the tour destination, we headed to Honokohau Marina with the rental car we had. We drove south on Highway 19, turned right onto Kealakehe Parkway, and quickly spotted the blue-roofed mall, so we didn't get lost.

We arrived a bit early, so we explored the area and found it to be a charming port town, which heightened our excitement! Upon entering the building, we were greeted by an elderly man with white hair. Since I hardly speak any English, I managed to say "Good morning," and he responded with a smile. When I conveyed that I didn't understand English, he handed me a notice and consent form written in Japanese, along with an explanation of the tour and the sights.

There were about 14 participants in total, including two groups from Japan and three family groups from America (among them were four children in elementary school).

As we boarded the boat, we spotted rays in the harbor, which heightened our anticipation! Just 1-2 minutes after departing, wild dolphins appeared, and everyone was thrilled! It was amazing to see wild dolphins swimming alongside the boat and jumping, as if welcoming us!

Our destination was the site of Captain Cook's memorial! We sped across the sea, feeling the wind, but it was quite bumpy and sunny. Sunscreen and rash guards are essential.

The snorkeling point was in a calm cove with excellent visibility, and there were plenty of fish! My companion, who isn't a strong swimmer, was initially scared, but once we got into the water, they became engrossed and enjoyed snorkeling.

After about an hour of snorkeling, we returned to the boat, where homemade sandwiches were served. They were delicious! During several breaks, we also enjoyed snacks, juice, and pineapple! Eating on the water was an extraordinary experience, and the pineapple cut fresh by the captain was especially tasty! Break times were flexible, so even those without much stamina can participate comfortably.

After snorkeling, we were able to rinse off our hair and bodies with a shower! After that, we were guided to the sights. The guidance was all in English, which I couldn't fully understand, but I could grasp the general idea.

On the way back, we saw dolphins again, and when we returned to the harbor, we spotted a sea turtle, making the tour very satisfying!

However, since the captain's guidance was entirely in English, I think it would have been even more enjoyable if I understood English. If I could wish for something, having a Japanese guide would be ideal.

Overall, I was very satisfied, so I highly recommend it!

For those participating, I would like to share a few tips:
1. Be sure to bring sunscreen.
2. A rash guard or long sleeves; women should wear half pants over their swimsuits.
3. If you don't want to rent a mask and snorkel, bring your own.
4. A waterproof camera.

I think these items would be helpful!

私たちはワイコロアにあるヒルトンキンクスランドのコンドミニアムに宿泊。
今回はツアー先まで送迎なしだったので借りていたレンタルカーで現地ホノコハウ・マリーナへ向かいました。
19号線をひたすら南下し、Kealakehe Pkwyを右折、すぐに目印の青い屋根のモールが見えたので迷いませんでした。

少し早めに着いたので周りを散策するととても雰囲気のある港町で楽しみが増して来ました！
建物に入ると白髪の老父がお出迎え！英語がほとんど話せない私はなんとか「グットモーニング」と話仕掛けると笑顔で対応してくれましたが英語はわかりませんと伝えると日本語の書いてある注意事項と同意書、そして今回のツアーの内容と名所の説明書きを渡されました。
実際に参加したのは私たちを含め日本から二組、アメリカから来ていたご家族グループ三組と14人位が参加(中には小学生低学年程のお子様も4人いました)

ボートに乗り込む時港にはエイが現れ、ワクワクが高まります！港を出港して1〜2分で野生のイルカが現れみんなで興奮しました！
まさかいきなり野生のイルカが現れてボートと並行して泳いだり、ジャンプしたりとまるで歓迎してくれているようでした！

目的地はキャプテン・クックの慰霊碑がある場所へ！海上を物凄いスピードで進み、風を感じられますが、激しい揺れと強い陽射しでした。
日焼け止めとラッシュガードは必需品です。

シュノーケリングポイントは波のない入江の小湾のような場所で透明度抜群で魚もたくさんいました！
泳ぐのが苦手な連れは最初は怖がっていましたが、いざ海に入ると夢中になって普通にシュノーケリングして楽しんでいました。

小一時間くらいシュノーケリングを楽しみ一度ボートに戻るとお手製のサンドイッチが振舞われました。それがとても美味しかったです！他にも数回の休憩中にスナックやジュース、パイナップルも！海上で食べる非日常の体験とても良かったです！キャプテンがその場で切ってくれたパイナップルもても美味しかったです！休憩は時間などは自分たち次第なので体力のない方でも安心して行えます。

シュノーケリングが終わるとシャワーで髪や青を洗わせてくれます！
シュノーケリング後に名所へ案内してくれました。ガイダンスは全て英語で理解できませんでしたが、なんとなくニュアンスでわかる？感じでした。

帰る途中もイルカが現れたり、港に戻るとウミガメが現れたりツアーとしては大満足出来ました！

ただキャプテンのガイドが全て英語だったので英語が理解できていればもっと楽しいと思います。贅沢を言えば日本語ガイドが付いていれば最高です。

トータル的にすごく満足できたのでオススメです！

参加する方にお伝えしたいことは
1.必ず日焼け止めを持っていく
2.ラッシュガード、もしくは長袖、女性は水着の上に履くハーフパンツ
3.マスク、シュノーケルのレンタルが嫌な方は自前の物を
4.水中用カメラ

We were really surprised by how many dolphins we encountered right from the beginning. There are many dolphin tours available, but I'm really glad I participated in this one. If you want to swim with dolphins on the Big Island, I definitely recommend this tour. I want to join again, so I will work hard to save money and go back once I can dive.

Seeing dozens of dolphins under the blue sky... this tour became a lifelong memory. I would love to participate again if I go to the Big Island.

Even if you're not confident in swimming, you can easily join alone. The members when I participated were a group of three women on a trip, a newlywed couple, a husband and wife, and a solo foreign traveler. Everyone was full of energy, and while we were on the water, they would smile and ask, "Did you see the dolphins? There was a baby dolphin too!" It made me really happy to share the excitement even as a solo traveler.

And the guide was wonderful. They loved dolphins and seemed happier than anyone else on the tour, which made it so much fun to be around. It was truly an enjoyable tour. I highly recommend it. Thank you so much to the guide, the staff, and all the members.

I can speak English (intermediate level), but my husband cannot at all. However, after seeing some experiences, it seemed like we could enjoy it to some extent, so I decided to sign up to see Hawaii Island from the sea.

I thought my husband would feel more at ease if there was at least one other Japanese person in our group, but unfortunately, all five other groups were American. When we gathered at the shop and saw the others, my husband started saying, "Oh no..." While we did receive a paper with points of interest and precautions written in Japanese beforehand, to be honest, even if I tried to read the explanations of some highlights in advance, I couldn't retain the information, and if I couldn't catch what was being said, I had no idea which explanation corresponded to which sight.

The captain and the staff girl who accompanied us were kind. They paid attention to us properly. However, the chatter while on the boat was hard to hear due to the loud motor noise, and I couldn't even catch what the captain or staff were explaining to nearby people or the casual conversations they were having. I couldn't enjoy conversing with others. It seemed like the people around us sensed that it might be better not to talk to us, as we were quite alone during the snorkeling point, and my husband especially didn't seem to enjoy it that much. It might be more suited for those who don't mind their surroundings or for children.

It probably depends on the members of the group, but during our time, there were only adults, so the captain skillfully maneuvered the boat, which tilted quite a bit, making it a thrilling ride. 周りを気にしない人や子供の方が向いているかもしれないです。

その時のメンバーによるのでしょうが、
私達の時は、大人ばかりでしたので
キャプテンがボートを自由自在に操って、ボートがかなり傾いて
スリルのある楽しい乗り物でした。
ただ進む際でも、片手ではしっかりロープを握って
いなければはじき飛ばされそうで、
せめて小学校高学年位でないと無理だろうなと思います。

シュノーケリングポイントは、正直普通でした。
残念ながら、イルカと一緒には泳ぐことはできませんでしたが、
イルカを見つけようと常に探してくれて、お陰で２度ボートの上から
違う種類のイルカを観察することができました。

ショップまではタクシーで行き、
事前に帰りはタクシーを呼んでねとお願いしていたら
私達のホテルの近所に桟橋があったせいか、
タクシー代節約してねと帰りはそこに寄って先に降ろしてくれたので助かりました。


海は楽しめましたが、周りを気にするような人には向いていないかもしれません。
あと、日焼けには注意してください。
私はがっつり日焼け止めを塗っていたつもりでしたが、
シュノーケルのマスクからはみ出した髪の毛の生え際部分が焼けてしまいました。
そして髪の毛の分け目も…。
キャップは飛ばされるので、外してねと言われます。
フードのついたパーカーがおすすめです。

Sleeping dolphins, dolphins on the move, and I was very lucky to encounter dolphins every time I entered the water. The snorkeling afterward was also fantastic, with many fish to see, and they introduced us to sightseeing spots along the way, allowing us to see places we wouldn't have been able to visit on our own. It was amazing!

Elvis and the crew are great fun, they really seem to enjoy there jobs. You would think taking boat loads of tourist out everyday they would get old, if it does they hide it well. They are a safe group and care for the island they are sharing with you. On the way back he turned the boat around to get us a better look at a beautiful Manta Ray. Well worth the time and money!!

The office staff is also great, they will call you to confirm, give you directions, answer questions. Really a great group, not a "sketchy tourist trap"!

It was very convenient to walk from the hotel to the meeting place, so there was no time loss. However, the meeting place was vague and there were no specific instructions, so I was quite anxious until the guide arrived. Since it was a small group, there were only four of us from our family, along with the pilot, a female guide, and a female guide-in-training.

We boarded the boat and started looking for dolphins, but the dolphins today were not very friendly, and the groups were small. We jumped off the boat several times after spotting them, but we couldn't meet them easily. The pilot suggested several times, "Let's go towards the pier," but the female guide stubbornly refused, saying, "The visibility is poor over there..." When called back to the boat, they had prepared fruits and warm tea for us. The grapes and pineapple were very delicious. They also gave us potato chips, and we ate while heading back.

Since I participated with my parents in their 60s and my elementary school son, the small group size (which ended up being a private tour) was very helpful. One disappointing thing was that I had requested prescription masks, but they were not prepared (the wetsuits I requested at the same time were properly provided). At the site, I was shown something like a reservation form (which was different from the form I filled out) and was told, "It's not written here." I thought I might have forgotten to input it, but when I checked after returning, it was properly entered. I believe there was a communication issue between the VELTRA system and the local company. My father, who has poor eyesight, had brought prescription goggles just in case, so it worked out, but he looked very disappointed, saying, "I couldn't see well." ボートに乗り込み、はじめにイルカを探していきますが、今日のイルカたちはあまりフレンドリーではなく、群れも小さく、何度か見つけてボートから飛び降りますが、なかなか会えず。操縦士の方が、「ピアのほうに行こうよ」と何度か提案するのですが、ガイドの女性が「あっちは透明度が悪いから・・・」と頑なに拒否。でもなかなか見つからないので、結局「ピア」のほうへ。そこにはすでにたくさんの外国人向けのツアーボートがいて、イルカもたくさんいて、みんなで追い回しているような感じ。ガイドの女性が「イルカたちのために、追わないであげてください」と。我々も海に入ると、実際には海の透明度は大して変わらず、真下にたくさんのイルカの群れが泳いでいて、たまにこっちに向かってくる！この日のために購入した水中カメラで撮影を試みるも、焦ってうまく撮れず。ここのイルカたちもあまりフレンドリーではなかったので一緒に泳ぐ、という感じではなかったですが、たくさんのイルカには会えました。もっと早くここに来ていたら、もっとゆっくりイルカと泳げたのになあとも思うけど、イルカたちにストレスをかけたくないのもわかるし。。。複雑な気持ちでした。
あまりゆっくりしているとシュノーケルの時間がなくなってしまうので、後ろ髪引かれながら再度ボートに乗りこみ、溶岩の岸壁などを見学しながらケアラケクア湾へ。ここの透明度は本当にすばらしく、こんなにきれいな海は初めてでした。夢中で泳いでいるとあっという間に時間がたっていました。呼ばれてボートにあがると、フルーツと温かいお茶を用意していてくれました。ブドウとパイナップルがとっても美味しかった。ポテトチップスもくれて、食べながら帰りました。
60代の両親、小学生の息子を連れての参加でしたので、少人数制（結果的には貸し切り）でとても助かりました。
一つ残念だったのは、度つきマスクをリクエストしていたのに、用意されていなかったこと（同時にお願いしたウエットスーツはきちんと用意してありました）。現地では予約表のようなものを見せられて（申し込み時のフォームとはちがう形式のもの）「こちらに書いていない」と言われてしまい、私が入力しわすれたのかと思っていましたが、帰ってきて確認すると、きちんと入力されている。VELTRAのシステムから、現地の会社に伝達がうまくいっていないのだと思います。目の悪い父は念のために度つきゴーグルを持参していたのでなんとかなりましたが「あまり見えなかった」ととても残念そうにしていました。
現地の方は悪くないのではないかと思うので、きちんと伝達を徹底してほしいです。

I can hardly speak English, but I decided to join the tour anyway! It was an afternoon tour.

Keauhou Bay felt like a hidden gem and had a bit of a mystical vibe. The water was very clear, and there were plenty of fish, but I felt that the quantity and variety were not much different from Kahalu'u Beach Park. For those who are used to snorkeling, it might feel a bit lacking.

The staff were friendly and kind. Even though I didn't understand the language, I was able to enjoy myself and it became a wonderful memory.

Below, I will outline the flow of the day. For those who also struggle with English, I hope this helps!

First, upon arriving on the Big Island, I had to make a reconfirmation call, which was the biggest hurdle. You can find detailed information about reconfirmation on the VELTRA website.

Since I didn’t have a rental car that day, I walked from the Sheraton Hotel to the meeting point. It took about 5 minutes on foot.

When I handed over the voucher at the reception, there was a quick explanation in English. Looking back, I think they mentioned that the snorkeling masks would be provided before boarding, and the fins would be handed out on the boat.

There was only one other group of Japanese people besides us, which was reassuring.

We had to wait quite a while until the morning tour's boat returned and the preparations were finished. It was hot outside.

After that, the rental of snorkeling masks began. At some point, they gathered people for the SNUBA activity and had them sign a consent form, but I wasn't sure if those were people who had pre-registered or if they were recruiting on the spot. Once the English explanation before boarding was done, we got on the boat.

The view from the second floor of the boat was great, but it seemed tough in the sunny spots. The ride took over 30 minutes.

Along the way, we encountered 4 to 5 dolphins! The people in the front seats seemed to see them well, but since we were in the middle of the second floor, we only caught a glimpse of their fins.

Near the counter on the first floor, there were snacks like water, tropical juice, and a mix of rice crackers and pretzels available for us to take freely. There were also restrooms.

The staff came around to distribute the fins. We had our own, so we didn’t borrow any, but the staff kindly asked us, “Do you have fins?” to check on us.

When we arrived at the snorkeling spot, we could also borrow floaties and other flotation devices, so those who are unsure about swimming can feel safe. The depth was completely beyond our feet.

In addition to snorkeling, we could enjoy diving from the boat and using a slide. I think we had about an hour of free time.

During the return trip, there was a fruit service as a signal to head back to the boat.

I didn’t see anyone giving tips, so I wasn’t sure when to give one. Those who were experienced might have discreetly tipped without others noticing.

ケアウホウ湾は秘境の地という感じがしてちょっと神秘的でした☆
水の透明度が高く魚もたくさんいましたが、カハルウビーチパークと量も種類もそんなに変わりなかったように感じます。慣れてる人だと物足りないかも？

まずハワイ島に到着したらリコンファームという到着確認の電話をしなければならず、これが一番ハードル高かったです。
リコンファームについてはVELTRAさんのサイトに詳しく書いてあります。

当日はレンタカーではなかったのでシェラトンホテルから集合場所まで歩きました。
徒歩5分です。

受付でバウチャーを渡すと英語でさらさらっと説明がありました。
後から考えるとシュノーケルマスクは乗船前、フィンは船で渡しますと言っていたと思います。

日本人は私達以外に1組だけいらっしゃったので心強かったです。

午前のツアーの船が戻って来て船内の準備が終わるまでけっこう待ちました。外なので暑いです。

その後シュノーケルマスクの貸出が始まりました。
途中でスヌーバをやる人を集めて同意書を書かせたりしていたようですが、あらかじめ申し込んでいた人なのかその場で募ったのかなわかりませんでした。
英語による乗船前の説明が済んだら乗り込みです。

船は二階だと見晴らしがいいですが日が当たる場所はキツそうでした。乗船時間は30分以上はあります。

途中でイルカ4～5頭に会いました！前の席の方たちはしっかり見れていたようですが、二階の真ん中の席だった私達は背びれが見れたくらいです。

１階のカウンター付近に水とトロピカルジュース、おかきやプレッツェルが混ざったスナックが置いてあり自由に取りに行く感じでした。トイレもあります。

フィンはスタッフの方が配りに来てくれます。
私達は自分のがあったので借りませんでしたが、スタッフさんが代わる代わる｢フィンはある？｣と気遣ってくれました。


スポットに着いたら浮き輪や体に巻く浮き具も借りられますので泳ぎが不安な方も安心です。足は全くつかない深さです。

シュノーケル以外にも、船からのダイブや滑り台で楽しむことができます。
自由時間は1時間くらいだったと思います。

終了の合図で船に戻り帰路についている間、フルーツのサービスがありました。


チップは渡している人を見かけなかったためタイミングがわからず渡していません。
慣れている方々は他の人にわからないようにスマートに渡していたのかもしれません。

Excellent tour!!!! The staffs were very helpful and kind. Everything just went well, include the cruise, the snorkeling time and the BBQ. We had everything on time and got everything we needed. Kealakelua Bay was such a fantastic place!!!! I would never forget this trip and recommended everyone to Hawaii to come here!

This is my fourth time on board. At some point, it has become a promise between my husband and me that "when we come to the Big Island, we will participate in the Fair Wind activities." As always, I'm excited to visit the beautiful bay and scenery. Actually, I tend to get seasick, so I usually struggle with boats. However, the Fair Wind catamaran has minimal rocking, which allows someone like me to feel safe while on board. I've been on it four times and have enjoyed myself without getting seasick even once. Watching the fish is fun, but sliding down the slide attached to the boat while shouting "Yay!" and "Wow!" truly brings me back to my childhood and is the best time ever. It's also nice that lunch is prepared at just the right time. The crew members are all friendly and amazing. I definitely want to go again next time.

４回目の乗船。いつの頃からか「ハワイ島に来たら、フェアウィンド号のアクティビティーに参加する。」というのは、私達夫婦の御約束事みたいになってしまいました。風景と美しい湾に行くのは、いつもの事ながらわくわくします。実は、私は船酔いするため船は、苦手中の苦手なのです。しかし、双胴船のフェアウィンドは揺れが少ないことから、こんな私でも安心して乗船できます。４回乗船しましたが、１度も船酔いすることなく楽しむことができました。お魚を見るのも楽しいですが、船についている滑り台を「きゃー」とか「わー」とか叫びながら滑り落ちるのは、まさに童心に戻って最高の時間です。調度よい時間に昼食が準備されるのも良いですよね。
クルーのスタッフは、みんなフレンドリーで最高です。また次回も是非行きたいと思っています。

My two teenagers (from LA) who don't like to show enthusiasm about anything had a great time on this activity. I loved seeing the Spinner Dolphins. We felt very safe and well taken care of. I highly recommend the Fair Wind.

In Keauhou Bay, I wandered around trying to find the meeting place, but right on time, Captain Taka and guide Kathy arrived with the boat and trailer, and we set off safely. It turned out to be a private tour just for the two of us!

First, we sped off in pursuit of dolphins, and when we spotted them, Taka quickly stopped the boat at the point and we jumped into the sea! If we hesitated even for a moment, we would miss them. We repeated this several times and managed to see some dolphins, but I wasn't able to take good underwater photos... I thought that was just how it would be.

Since it was just the two of us, they asked, "What do you want to do? Shall we move to snorkeling?" I expressed my hope to swim with the dolphins one last time! During that final chance, we saw many dolphins and swam with them, which was incredibly satisfying.

Next, we moved to snorkeling. On the way, we stopped by attractions like the caves and Pele's Rock, and finally arrived at Kealakekua Bay! In the bay with its high visibility, I lost track of time and was completely absorbed in the experience.

Before we knew it, we heard the call to head back! It was a wonderful half-day, and I wished we could have stayed a little longer. Thank you, Taka and Kathy!

ケアウホウベイでは集合場所が分からずウロウロしましたが、時間にはボートを引いた車と共に船長のタカさん、ガイドのキャシーさんが来てくれて無事に出発しました。なんと私たち2人だけの貸切でした❣️
先ずはイルカを追ってボートはひた走り、見つけたらタカさんがポイントで船を止めて、素早く海へ❗️
一瞬モタモタしても遅れます
何回か繰り返し、それなりにはイルカは見れましたが水中写真はうまく撮れず・・・こんなもんかなぁ〜と思っていました。
2人だけなので「どうしますか？シュノーケルに移動しますか？」と聞かれ、最後もう一回イルカと泳ぎたいと希望❣️
ラストチャンスでは、たくさんのイルカを見て、一緒に泳いで大満足でした♪
次はシュノーケルに移動。途中で洞窟やペレの岩など見所に立ち寄りながらケアラケクア湾に到着❗️
透明度の高い湾では時間を忘れて夢中でした♪
そろそろ帰ろうか〜！と声がかかるまであっという間でした。大満足の半日となりました。もう少しいたかった。タカさん、キャシーさんありがとうございました♪

It was an emotional moment as so many dolphins approached us, and in the end, Nankai even showed us a twist jump. I highly recommend it.

I was really tense on the boat, worried about seasickness, but the staff skillfully eased my feelings and lifted my spirits. At first, I struggled to get used to the water and ended up drinking seawater, but with the staff's appropriate advice, I got accustomed to it in the second half, my field of vision expanded, and I became more relaxed. I think anyone can enjoy this experience.

野生とは思えないほど、沢山のイルカが寄ってきてくれ、最後はひねりをいれたジャンプを南海も見せてくれました。感動のひと時でした。お勧めです。
私は金づちの上に、船酔いが心配で、ガチガチだったのですが、スタッフの方が上手に気持ちをほぐし、テンションをあげてくれました。初めは水の中に慣れず、海水を飲んだりと苦戦しましたがスタッフの適切なアドバイスで後半は慣れ、視野も広がり、余裕もでてきました。誰でも楽しめると思います。
