My husband and I and our two kids (ages 8 & 6) rode in the 4-seater and it was great fun! Driving through the mud was slippery and exciting and while we all got a bit muddy and wet the UTV protects you from most of the splash. Our favourite bit was swimming in the waterfall. We took the tour on 12/24/2024. It was a full car but very friendly and nice guests together! The eruption was very stunning and the star gaze - wow! Our guide James is very helpful patient and good at photo shooting as well. He can also speak a little Japanese. Parka jackets saved our lives for sure. The overall trip experience was excellent. The sandwich was surprisingly good as well.

We loved the Waipio valley tour and our guide was awesome! He grew up and lives in the valley and we learned so much! We are glad we did the tour down into the valley instead of just visiting the lookout.
