Mount Waialeale Rainforest Hike (Easy to Moderate)
Overall Rating
4.67Rainforest Hike
Reviewed by: Ron, 2014/08/05Great trip and very informative. Paul was very knowledgeable and entertaining and it was great to see the top of Mt. Waialeale as it is not visible very often. The hike was very casual and not at all taxing. This was a nice way to spend half a day.

Kauai Rainforest Hike
Reviewed by: Michelle W., 2014/02/22This was a beautiful hike once we arrived! We were bouncing up and down in our seats for at least 30 minutes on our way to begin the hike. The rode was very rocky and full of huge holes. This tour is not for people who get motion sick or car sick.
The tour guide was friendly, smart, and fun.

Wonderful Hike, Great Guide!
Reviewed by: Mr. Tufts, 2012/11/27We had a hike with Tour Guide Nick who was absolutely wonderful. Nick was super knowledgeable about Kauai, Hawaiian History, and the various plants and animals found in the rainforest. He showed us which plants were edible, which were not, and gave us tons of information about everything in the jungle. He truly made the hike all the more enjoyable for my family.
The actual hike itself was very fun too. We had wished that it had gone a little farther into the Wai'ale'ale caldera, but the hike ends where it would get much more difficult to continue walking. Hikers are still able to see some of the massive waterfalls in the distance at the end of the hike. It is a fairly easy hike, too, just bring decent sneakers and be prepared to get them muddy.
We will try and get Nick for a kayak tour when we return to Kauai next time!

Kauai Hiking Tour - Rainforest Adv.
Reviewed by: Peggy - World Traveler, 2012/08/11Now this one was different.
Pros: The guide picked us up at our hotel. He was a modern day "flower-child" no doubt and that made it a bit more interesting and actually more fun that it would have been. I have no doubt he could survive in Kauai and never shop for food; never eat at a restaurant :). The road up is REALLY BUMPY and that's fun for kids. If you have a bad back, pregnant, motion sickness, small bladder or other health issues this is NOT for you. If you like to hike and are adventurous, this is the tour for you. Our guide munched on the local plants ALL the way up and back. He was VERY knowledgeable about the plants, berries etc. He was also very funny. He suddenly at a red berry and then said hey take this berry and leat and if I get sick give that to the doctor :) (He was joking and it was funny) He showed us all sorts of medicinal plants, tasty berries - what to eat; what not to eat. He knows his birds as well. At the end was a wonderful area river c

Reviewed by: Charlie S, 2012/07/07The rain forest tour was so much better than we thought it would be when we signed up - our guide, Paul (who we also had on our snorkeling activity), had a great personality and had so much knowledge of the local flora and fauna - he is a true value for your staff - he made us feel welcome and provided tidbits of local knowledge that were amazing - the scenery was beautiful and we had an excellent time thanks to Paul - the interior of the island of Kauai is awesome - towering cliffs and beautiful waterfalls - a great activity overall!

Hiking Tour - Kauai Rainforest
Reviewed by: The Early family, 2011/05/03Aloha,
My husband and I really recommend this tour. Our guide taught us everything from the history of Hawai'i to the plants and animals that we came across during the hike. I learned so much and had a great time! He even taught me about my flower crown that I was wearing. I learned that my Haku Hawaiian flower crown/ lei were made from the official flower of Kaua'i which is the color purple.
This tour is a must!!!
