What an amazing evening! The Makani was fabulous and fun, and the staff fantastic. Hawai'i Events were incredibly helpful and professional and it was so worth every penny.

We were the closest boat to the fireworks and had the very best seat in the house...well, ocean.

Thank you for an excellent experience, and for all my friends and family who come visit- this will be a "must do" activity!!

The cruise was filled with Japanese people, so it didn't feel like I was in Hawaii. When I watched the countdown fireworks from the deck, there were a lot of people, and everyone counted down together, which was very exciting. The food wasn't particularly delicious, but the atmosphere on the deck was nice. The fireworks viewed from the deck were better than those seen from the beach in Honolulu.

The crew also joined in the fun, making it a very enjoyable event. I participated in the romance dinner, and the jazz performance was wonderful, with all the food being delicious, which made my family happy as well. The only disappointment was the bus transportation; I understand it was New Year's Eve, but the waiting time for both the outbound and return trips was quite long, and I hope for improvements in that area.

I wanted to ride the Star of Honolulu again after my last trip to Hawaii, and while searching, I discovered a fireworks viewing and countdown course on December 31. Since it was a special countdown, I decided to sign up for a more extravagant and memorable experience.

The Star of Honolulu is not just a simple dinner cruise where you enjoy a meal and the night view; it’s a meaningful experience where you sing and dance with the staff. We welcomed the countdown on the deck, and we were able to see fireworks from both the Ala Moana area and the Kahala area, as well as fireworks from various other districts, making for a truly luxurious time.

I also ordered champagne, but when I requested to change it to a non-alcoholic option (Shanmeri) on-site, they handled it without any complaints, and the staff was very kind and helpful. I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

前回の渡ハの時に乗船したスターオブホノルルに再度乗りたく思い、探していると12月31日の花火観賞＆カウントダウンってコースがあるのを発見。
折角のカウントダウンなので、ちょっと豪勢に、そして記憶に残るカウントダウンにしたくて申し込みました。
このスターオブホノルル、ただ食事をして夜景を見て楽しむ単純なディナークルーズではなく、スタッフと一緒に歌って踊ってこそ意味のあるコースです。
カウントダウンは、デッキで迎えた訳ですが、アラモアナ地区であがる花火とカハラ地区？であがる花火を両方（その他色々な地区の花火も見える）見ることができ、とても贅沢な時間を迎えることが出来ました。
追加で、シャンパンを頼んでいたのですが、現地でノンアルコール（シャンメリー）に変更をお願いしたのですが嫌な顔ひとつせず対応してくれましたし、スタッフも親切で助かりました。
また機会があったら参加したいと思います。

My husband and I went on this sail last year in Hawaii, and it was by far the best time I had while I was there. The catamaran is really beautiful and I loved just chilling out on the nets at the front of the boat. The hubby and I just snuggled and sipped our drinks while watching the fireworks and the skyline. All of Waikiki was sparkling and being on the water was the BEST way to see the fireworks. I know that back at home, it can get really crowded on the shoreline so not having to deal with the mess of people was a fantastic perk. A great big thank you to the captain and crew and we will see you again soon!

OK, there was a pod of 200 dolphins swimming all around our boat - which was a trip, sunset views were awesome - you won't see a sunset like this one in Waikiki, believe me I went one TWO sailing trips in Waikiki last week, which were great too ... but on this trip we actually saw the sun slip away behind the ocean horizon. The crew was so friendly and chill and accommodating ... no pressure ... no trying to shamelessly sell you stuff, actually, Captain Patrick shared all the free stuff to do along the coast, we saw the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean and the new Disney hotel too. The snorkeling was great! The food was simple and healthy and tasty! Yum! I understand that this is a newer tour so we only had about 18 people on a 49 capacity boat .... so lots of room to stretch out and get some tanning done. Thank you all at the Ocean Joy for such an amazing experience! We will be back the Kai oli oli again!!

My wife and I took this cruise and had a great time!

Being new to the area, we asked for some suggestions and several people mentioned the Star of Honolulu to us. So we gave it a shot, and we are so glad we did.

It was easy to get to the pickup point right from our hotel, we actually walked! And then the dinner was great. I am a big eater, and a self-professed food snob, but that lobster and five-course meal was truly amazing. Fireworks capped off the night with a bang, and it was just wonderful.

This time, we added a window-side seat with a bottle of champagne as an option. Since the surrounding guests were mostly couples, it seemed unusual to have two women, but I recommend a couple's seat since you will be seated at a round table. The meal was luxurious, featuring a whole lobster! We were able to enjoy a wonderful countdown while watching fireworks rising towards Waikiki. Additionally, the hula dance show was impressive, and I wished I could have watched more. Alan.1 offers tours at lower prices compared to other tour companies. They accommodated us at a lower price this time as well due to such circumstances. I have posted an article about the cruise on my blog. I hope it conveys some of the fun we had. It started with a sunset while enjoying dinner, and I had the main dish of lobster. My hands got a bit messy, but it was delicious. I wish there had been a special spoon for crab so I could have eaten everything. It would have also been nice to have extra napkins. I thought a finger bowl would have been even better. The steak was a reasonable size and very tasty. I reserved a window-side seat, but during the fireworks, everyone gathered on the right side, and only a couple of groups were seated to watch. Luckily, I was able to join one of those groups. I enjoyed the night view of Honolulu and was able to watch the spectacular fireworks while seated, making it the best night ever. The entertainment until we returned to port included Hawaiian and jazz performances, and we all got excited dancing together at the end. The traffic on the way back to the hotel was as expected and took a while, but compared to the traffic in Tokyo, it wasn't too bad. The fare was nearly double what it was on the way there, but I was able to get some great information from the taxi driver during our conversation.

DINNERを楽しみながらのSUNSETから始まり、MAIN DISHのROBSTOR少し手は汚れましたが美味しくいただきました。蟹専用のスプーンがあれば全てを食べつくせたのに残念でした。またナプキンが余分に置いてあれば良いのですが？フィンガーボウルがあればさらに良かったと思いました。ステーキも手ごろな大きさで美味しくいただきました。WINDOW SAIDEの席を予約いたしましたが花火のときは右舷に全員が集まり座席で座って見ているのは2.3のGROOPのみで運良くそのGROOPに入ることが出来ました。HONOLULUの夜景を楽しみさらに盛大な花火を座って見ることが出来最高の夜をすごすことが出来ました。帰港するまでのENTERTAINMENTもHAWAIAN & JAZZの演奏最後は全員参加での踊りで盛り上がりました。帰りのHOTELまでの渋滞は予想通りでしばらくかかりましたが東京での渋滞に比較すればさほどではありませんでした。行きの倍近くの料金になりましたがTAXI DRIVERとの会話でとっておきの情報をGETすることが出来ました。

Dishes were served on plates at the tables, and although I dislike meat, the lobster dish was more than enough for me. After a fun time with a dance segment for newlywed couples, the hula dance began. As various hula dances concluded, the countdown started, and fireworks and sounds echoed from Ko Olina and other places. Finally, a grand fireworks display began from the ship in front of Aloha Tower. Overwhelmed by the magnificence of the fireworks up close, I offered words of gratitude for the past year and prayed for a good year ahead for myself and my family, enjoying a wonderful moment. I sincerely thank everyone who made this amazing experience possible.

First, it was quite challenging to get on the bus to the port. The staff made a mistake with the passenger list, so we couldn't board right away. There were mostly Japanese people gathered, but there was someone who could speak English, which was helpful for conversation.

Since it was a one-star experience, my wife and I had our meal at a shared table, reminiscent of a school trip. The food was simple, but I wasn't concerned since I didn't have high expectations for the meal from the start. The waiter was the same person who made the mistake with the bus list. Overall, the service felt a bit casual, or you could say it had a homey atmosphere.

During the meal, a show and live performances started, but with the sunset, about half of the guests got up to take pictures outside or enjoy the view from the ship.

Since it was a large ship, it didn't sway much, which was nice.

As night fell, the Independence Day fireworks began. The ship docked right in front of the launch site. I had heard from locals that the fireworks were smaller compared to those in Japan, but perhaps because it was the 50th anniversary, they were quite satisfying.

In higher classes, there might be a dress code, allowing for a more relaxed dining experience while watching the fireworks.

On the way back, there was a tremendous traffic jam. It usually takes about ten minutes to get back to the Marriott Hotel, but it took over an hour. If you are in a group, it might be nice to walk back while enjoying the scenery.

まず、港までいくバスに乗るまでが大変でした。
スタッフのかたが乗車名簿を間違えてしまい、すぐに乗ることができませんでした。日本人ばかりで集まっていましたが、英語を話せる方がいたのでいろいろと話をしていただいて助かりました。

ワンスターだったので、まるで修学旅行のような、相席のテーブルで妻と食事をとりました。
食事はシンプルなものでしたが、最初から食事に関して期待していなかったため気になりませんでした。
担当ウェイターはバスの名簿を間違えた人でした。接客は全体的になぁなぁな感じで、よくいえばアットホームなとでも言えましょうか。

食事中にショーやライブが始まりましたが、サンセットも重なり半分くらいの人が席を立って外で写真撮影や船上からの景色を眺めたりしていました。

大きな船ということもあり、さほど揺れもきになりませんでした。

いよいよ夜になり、独立記念日の花火大会が始まりました。船は打ち上げ場所の目の前で停泊。花火は日本と比べて小規模だと現地の方から伺っていましたが、５０周年記念ということもあってか、結構満足のいったものでした。

もっと上のクラスではドレスコードもあり、ゆったりとクルージングディナーをして座りながら花火を観ることができたのですかね。

帰りがものすごく渋滞して、マリオットホテルまで帰るのに普段１０分くらいなのですが1時間以上かかりました。複数でいたら散歩しながら帰るのもいいかもしれません。

Great boat, wonderful crew and a delicous meal just the icing on the cake to the most beautiful sunset we have ever seen. Hawaii sunsets are pretty sitting on the beach but you can't beat the beauty of seeing it out on the water. This tour is out in west Oahu (Koolina) far away from waikiki which is exactly what we were looking for!

I participated in 2007.
I recommend it for those staying in Hawaii on Independence Day.

I think it would be nice to go a little early, have a meal at Hooters in the Aloha Tower Marketplace, and then join the event.

On the way back, there is a tremendous traffic jam, so if you take a taxi back to the hotel, the meter will go up quickly, so you should be careful.

Since it was my first New Year's in Hawaii, I looked for a memorable way to celebrate and signed up for this tour, and I was deeply moved. (I even shed a tear.)

The reasons are:

1. The food was incredibly delicious, and the presentation was good.
