The course has changed since I experienced it a year ago, and we couldn't get close to the movie filming locations. The scenery was amazing, but I preferred the previous course. Although there was a shuttle service, the gap between the bus arrival/departure times and the experience was too long. It seems that for the 11:30 start time, the bus leaves just before that. I took a stroll on a nearby beach, but even then, I felt a bit at a loss for what to do.

First of all, it was really helpful that there were staff members who could speak Japanese. There were several people at the reception, but one of them spoke Japanese, and even the Hawaiian staff provided explanations about paddling and how to hold the canoe in broken Japanese, which made it easy to understand and gave me a sense of reassurance. That aspect was quite significant.

As for the experience, it was truly memorable and one that I will cherish for a lifetime. We paddled out a little from the shore and then returned, and it reminded me of a scene from a Disney movie, like Moana, which made me smile.
