The tour tour was as described. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and presented various flowers and other botanical specimens common to the island. The lunch was also very good.

this tour is not for the faint of heart, The road lives up to its' reputation! It is a bit long but worth every minute. The guide was knowledgeable and an excellent driver. The lunch provided was not very good and we recommended that be changed in the near future.

The helicopter ride was amazing! Absolutely unbelievable and breathtaking. The motorcoach bus tour was a bit longer than we expected it to be plus you can only see so much volcanic rock in one sitting before you feel like you've seen it all. But the views were unforgettable. The guides for both the helicopter and bus tour were informative, knowledgeable and made the trip fun. I highly recommend it!!

check the weather first

Overall the tour was well organised and professional. However due to low visibility from low cloud and rain, the helicopter part of the tour was cancelled and refunded. Since the hotel pick up was 6am, we had already flown to the big island before that decision was made, therefore the package became just an expensive day trip bus ride. We would have preferred to cancel the whole trip if we had known the helicopter portion was not gonig ahead, althought that is the decison of the pilots.
The bus tour and guide was very good and knowleldgeable and could not fault what we did experience.

I have been to Oahu, Hawaii Island, and Maui many times, but I had never been to Kauai because I had a strong image of it being rural! However, I was surprised when I went! It was the most mystical island! There are many wonderful places to visit, but the breathtaking views of Waimea Canyon truly overwhelmed me! The guide provided detailed information, so I think even first-time solo travelers can enjoy it with peace of mind!

The tour itself was really good, interesting and informing. All of the employees that took care of us were helpful and kind. The problem was the scheduling from Oahu to Kauai. We had to be picked up at 4:30 a.m. At our hotel. The plane left at 6:00 a.m. We got to Kauai at 6:40 a.m. And had to wait until picked up by tour guide at 8:40 a.m.. There were others that left our hotel at 7:00 and arrived to have guide pick them up on time. We also were told (on the tour guide was told) the wrong place at the airport to pick us up. All of that was very stressful. If they could correct the scheduling then it is a worthwhile tour.

Great Fun in a Joint Family on the Road to Hana Adventure

Really nice to have Larry -- a knowledgeable, eloquent, humorous and considerate buddy-- as our group's driver and tour guide. We all enjoyed a great deal on the road to Hana and all the way along the breathtaking Pacific Ocean!

I personally had a specially great time in this tiny and yet magic band, I should say. You know I was a solo traveller, but when we got together at breakfast time that day I was lucky enough to join a " Shanghai Family", which endowed me with much love and care on the Road to Hana Adventure!

When I got back to Waikiki that night, the gala of Halloween had just started. What a wonderful continuation of the wondeful day trip! Warmest mahalo! :-)

Very well run tour. In and out of the airports very smoothly. Our helicopter pilot, Brant, was excellent and took us in quite close. Jane, the tour bus driver was terrific. Full of information and kept us all on time. Would certainly recommend this tour.

I participated in this tour because I wanted to experience the great outdoors! It exceeded the description in the tour details, and I was truly satisfied with the many breathtaking views I enjoyed. The pickup and the explanations at the airport were all provided in Japanese, which made me feel at ease. The guide was a Japanese woman (or possibly of Japanese descent) who has lived in the area for a long time. She was very interesting and kind, sharing many stories unique to the locals. The driver sang with a ukulele during our break, creating wonderful memories!

大自然を体感したい！との思いから参加しました。ツアー内容に記載されている以上の内容で、たくさんの絶景を楽しむことができ本当に大満足でした。送迎、空港での説明ともに日本語でしっかりとした案内があり、安心でした。ガイドさんは現地に長く在住されている日本人(日系人？)のおばちゃんでした。とても面白く親切で、現地の方ならではのお話をたくさんして頂きました。運転手さんは休憩時間にウクレレで歌ってくれ、素敵な思い出になりました！

I visited Kauai after going to Maui and Hawaii Island. My main purpose was to see Waimea Canyon. I participated in a tour thinking I could experience the same excitement I felt when I visited the Grand Canyon last September. It was unfortunate that I couldn't go to the Na Pali Coast due to time constraints. It was nice to leisurely explore Kauai by bus. Waimea Canyon was very beautiful and clearly visible since the weather was nice. The guide, an energetic lady who didn't seem to show her age, talked non-stop throughout the day, which I found impressive. I learned for the first time that there is Blue Mountain Coffee in Kauai, and I bought some immediately. The sample I tried was very delicious, so I'm looking forward to drinking it in Japan.

It was a truly wonderful place. The untouched nature was incredible. The road to HANA was winding and very narrow, especially when encountering oncoming cars. However, the views from the car along the way were absolutely breathtaking.

In the tour, we were the only Japanese participants. Honestly, I understood only about half of the English, but I managed (laughs). Moreover, during the East Maui tour, we didn't encounter any other Japanese people at all. It's a completely different experience compared to Honolulu, even though it's the same Hawaii. The banana bread we bought along the way was warm and delicious too. However, I was surprised that we passed right by Hasegawa General Store. I wanted to check it out a bit...

I highly recommend experiencing the untouched nature and power of East Maui!

でも途中の車中から見える景色は絶景ばかり。

ツアー自体日本人は私たちのみ。英語のヒアリングは正直半分くらいしかわからなかったけど、なんとかなりました(笑)。しかも、東マウイツアー中、全く日本人に会いませんでした。同じハワイでもホノルルとは大違い。
途中寄って購入したバナナブレッドもホカホカで美味しかったし。
ただ、ハセガワ雑貨店は目の前をスルーだったのはビックリ。ちょっと見てみたかった。。

A bit of a rocky start as we were to meet group picked up at Waikiki at airport. Group was late and no contact with Veltra guide had us nervous for a while. Once settled and arrived at Hilo, 'Captain' Bob took over as our guide. Our group of 10 toured all sites as mentioned and Bob was an excellent guide throughout. He made the tour much more interesting with his extensive knowledge of the island history, geography, plant and animal life, food, climate, etc. He also shared quite a bit science knowledge related to the volcanoes. All was delivered with humor and was very enjoyable. Keep in mind Hilo is known for the amount of rain received - you are advised to bring appropriate clothing.

I was overwhelmed by the majestic nature that served as the backdrop for Jurassic Park. The scenery was breathtaking, and I was taken to Waimea Canyon and waterfalls. Seeing Waimea Falls up close was truly impressive, and I was moved to see a double rainbow as well. I'm glad I participated! It was my first time on Kauai, and although I joined a day tour, I felt like I wanted to explore more places. Next time, I would like to stay overnight and take my time exploring.

I've traveled to Hawaii many times, but I had never been to any island other than Oahu. This time, I experienced sightseeing on Kauai for the first time, and I was able to feel a different side of Hawaii. The lush, calming landscapes that spread out before me are definitely worth seeing at least once. Also, the coffee is delicious and can be purchased at a low price.
