We went to Hawaii again as a couple during Silver Week. This time, I wanted to include snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, so I booked this tour. To be honest, I initially applied for the tour "Hanauma Bay with a Certified Veteran Guide," which had many reviews and experiences, but it was not available, so I chose this tour instead. Unfortunately, it rained from the morning. During snorkeling, there was heavy rain and waves, and the sand was stirred up, making it difficult to see the fish clearly. Moreover, the approximately one hour of snorkeling was cold, and I was shivering after getting back on land.

However, I can't go against nature, so I hope to try again on a sunny day next time. I have snorkeled at several places in Honolulu, but when it comes to seeing fish, it can't compare to Guam, Saipan, or Southeast Asia's Cebu and Phuket.

Nonetheless, I think the tour was very good because the guide explained everything earnestly and assisted us well. Another highlight was that we unexpectedly got to see a honu (sea turtle).

シルバーウィークに夫婦でまたハワイに行ってきました。今回は念願のハナウマ湾のシュノーケリングを入れたかったのでこのツアーを予約しました。正直に言いまして、最初は評価も体験談も多い、「公認ベテランガイドといくハナウマ湾」のツアーを申し込みましたがリクエストＮＧでしたので、このツアーにしました。当時は、あいにく朝から雨。シュノーケリングの時も大雨で波もあり、砂が舞い上がっており、きれいに魚は見えませんでした。しかも約1時間のシュノーケリングは寒く、陸に上がった後は寒さで震えていました。　　
でも自然には逆らえないので、今度は晴れた時に再チャレンジできたらと思います。
ホノルルでは何か所かでシュノーケリングしましたが、やはり魚を見るならば、グァム、サイパンや東南アジアのセブ島やプーケットなどには かないませんね。
でもガイドさんが一生懸命説明してアシストしてくださり、ツアーとしてはとてもよかったと思います。
また期待していなかったホヌと会えたのがよかったポイントです。

We participated as a family of four (with a 2nd-year middle schooler and a 5th grader). The hotel pick-up was smooth, and we felt reassured that the American husband spoke Japanese without any issues. The two women were snorkeling for the first time, but they were kindly taught and had no problems enjoying it at all! The masks and snorkels were also the latest models and very clean. It was a bit disappointing that we didn't get to see any turtles and that the time at Hanauma Bay felt a bit rushed.

女性2人は初シュノーケリングでしたが、親切に教えてもらいまったく問題なく楽しめました！

亀に会えなかったのと、少し時間が短くﾊﾅｳﾏ湾でばたばた感があったのが残念でした。

This was a great beach day at Kailua Beach! We were picked up by mini van right at our hotel and taken to a small plaza containing the water sports store sponsoring the activity. The people in the store were pleasant and showed us the lockers and gave us our vouchers for the included lunch. Also included was the use of boogie boards and beach chairs. The beach is a short walk from the plaza so keep in mind that you will need to carry things with you. Towels not included so be sure to bring your own! The beach itself is gorgeous and clean with that beautiful blue iridescent water! We set up shop under a tree and were happy there all day. There are facilities at the beach. While the food places were open at 10:00 AM, we chose to wait until 12:30 to eat. We opted for the pizza and drink. The pizza was the closest to true NY style we had in Hawaii...we were very impressed! It says one slice however the slice is actually a quarter of a very large pie and they cut it in two for you so it is two good sized slices! At the end of the day we headed back to the store and turned in our beach things we had borrowed and browsed the gift shop. A great day!

This is a cozy tour guided by the friendly couple, Dan and Chieko. We participated as a group of five, from my 64-year-old mother-in-law down to our 7-year-old son. There was also another family of four, making a total of nine people on the tour. From the moment we were picked up to the time we were dropped off, we felt their constant care and attention. During the main snorkeling activity, the experienced guides ensured that everyone in the group had a great time, and they especially stayed close to my mother-in-law, allowing her to enjoy snorkeling with peace of mind. Although we didn't encounter any turtles, the hospitality we experienced made this tour feel worth more than the price we paid. I believe that snorkeling can vary depending on the weather and time of day, so you might not see everything you hope for, but I think it's worth participating.

They also manage valuables securely, which is reassuring. As others have mentioned in their experiences, they upload photos taken during the tour to Facebook, so you can get pictures without needing to bring an underwater camera.

　ダンさんちえこさんの仲良し夫婦が案内してくれるアットホームなツアーです。
　上は６４歳の妻の母から下は７歳の息子まで５人で参加しました。他には家族４人で参加しているグループと計９人でのツアーでした。迎えの車の中から帰りの送迎の間まで常に私たちに心遣いをしてくれていることが感じられるツアーでした。メインのシュノーケリングではベテランガイドらしくグループのすべての人たちが楽しめるよう気遣っていただき、特に妻の母にはほぼつきっきりでいてくださり安心してシュノーケリングを楽しむことができました。カメに合うことはできませんでしたが、おもてなしの心遣いが感じられることで、値段以上の価値を感じられるツアーです。シュノーケリングは天候や時間帯により見えるものは違うので思ったものが見えない可能性はあると、思いますが参加して損はないと思います。
　貴重品管理もしっかりしていて安心できます。他の人も体験談で書いておられる通り現地で撮った写真をfacebookでアップしてくれるので水中カメラを持参しなくても写真を入手できます。

Such a great experience Dan was an awesome, he took the time in explaining everything and helping me out. This was the best experience ever!

Amazing experience! Dan is very funny and nice, a great guide. Everything was perfectly organized, in every detail. Hanauma Bay is truly spectacular, Dan guided us in a long route in the bay. It was great, we saw a lot of fishes, and Dan took plenty of pics (much better than mine!). He was most helpful also during the trip to Hanauma Bay! A must-do when in Honolulu!

You can rent a safety box at the rental shop, so you can go to the beach hands-free. We took out pizza and had lunch on the beach. I heard there’s also BBQ on weekdays.

レンタルショップでセーフティボックスが借りられるので手ぶらでビーチに行けます。ピザをテイクアウトして海岸でランチしました。平日はBBQもあるそうです。

Amazing service! The transportation serbice providers were always on time. They call you a day before to remind you of your reservation.

Exactly what was expected. Very Very Helpful, warm couple as guides and instructors.
This was a great experience ... plenty of time to accomplish the instruction portion and allow the participants to enjoy the experience. Swimming was fun and a real experience to interact with beauty of the Pacific Ocean and its inhabitants.
Look forward to scheduling with this company again.

Hanauma Bay was very beautiful! Dan and Chieko were friendly and easy to talk to, and they provided very thorough explanations for snorkeling! The equipment we borrowed was also clean, which made us feel safe. The fish were colorful and we could see them up close; although we didn't see any turtles, we did get to see a very large moray eel, which was fun! I didn't bring an underwater camera, but I was very happy to receive the photos Dan took from Facebook as a nice service! When I go to Hawaii again, I want to visit Hanauma Bay! I would love to join your tour again at that time! Thank you so much, Dan and Chieko!

ダンさんもチエコさんも気さくな方で話しやすく、シュノーケルをするにあたっての説明も、とても丁寧にしてくれました！
貸していただいた物も、綺麗なもので安心できました。
お魚も色鮮やかで、すぐ近くで見れたり、カメは見れなかったですが、とっても大きいウツボが見れて楽しかったです！
水中カメラを持って行かなかったのですが、ダンさんが撮ってくださった写真のデーターをFBからいただけたのも、とても嬉しいサービスでした！
またHawaiiに行く時は、ハナウマ湾に行きたいです！その時はまた、お二人のツアーに参加したいです！

It was a reassuring tour with guidance in Japanese.

We had a fun snorkeling experience with a British family, an Indian family, a Japanese family, and our couple.

Unfortunately, on that day, due to low tide, the turtles couldn't come into the bay, so we didn't get to see any sea turtles.

To be honest, my expectation was a bit too high, and I felt like saying, "Hmm, is this it...?"
As for the fish... well, I could see them, but just barely.

However, I am very satisfied to say, "I went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay in Hawaii!" (laughs)

This is something that depends on the tides and conditions.

It had quite an international atmosphere, but I enjoyed the tour with solid guidance in Japanese.

I was fine, but he seemed to experience symptoms like motion sickness while snorkeling. Also, although the weather was great, the water temperature felt unexpectedly low, and it was quite cold.
I recommend that those going take precautions.

Next time, I definitely want to join your diving tour.

I'll be going to Hawaii again!

日本語で案内していただけて、安心なツアーでした。

イギリス人親子、インド系ご家族、日本人ご家族、私達カップルのツアーで、楽しくシュノーケリングしました。

この日はあいにく引潮でカメさんが湾に入って来れず、海亀さんには会えませんでした。

期待が大き過ぎた分、「うーん、こんなものか〜…。。。」というのが正直な感想。
お魚も…あ〜見えた見えた、くらいかな？

でも「私、Hawaiiのハナウマ湾でシュノーケリングをしたよ！」ということで大満足です（笑）

こればっかりは潮の満ち引きやら条件がありますものね。

なかなかインターナショナルな雰囲気で、でもしっかり日本語で案内していただき、楽しかったです。

私は平気だったのですが、彼がシュノーケリングで乗り物酔いのような症状になったようです。
あと、すごくお天気は良かったのですが、思いの外水温が低く感じられて、すごく寒かったです。
行かれる方は対策をしていく事をお勧めします。

今度はご夫妻のダイビングツアーに是非参加したいです。

またHawaii行きますね〜！

Taking the shuttle was the only way to go. They had all the gear we needed
However the long line to get in ate up a lot of our time. then the mandatory movie was really way to long and a lot of unnecessary info in it.

We had a great time it was the highlight of my trip.

I participated in the morning course. The instructors are very attentive, so even beginners can feel at ease. I don't have much stamina, so I got tired early on, but thanks to our guide Dan, who helped me and encouraged me multiple times, I was able to stay with the other participants until the end. Hanauma Bay has a lot of fish swimming around, and you can see them up close. I was able to see three sea turtles, which was very moving. Since it had been a while since I swam, I was completely exhausted by the time I returned to the hotel, and I regret not being able to properly thank Dan. I would definitely like to participate again when I go to Hawaii. Thank you, Dan!

丁寧に教えてくれるので、初心者でも安心です。
体力のない私は早い段階で疲れてしまいましたが、
ガイドのダンさんが手を引いてくださったり、
何回も励ましてくださったおかげで、参加者のみなさんと一緒に最後まで参加することができました。
ハナウマ湾は魚がたくさん泳いでいて、間近で見ることができます。
ウミガメは3匹も見ることができ、とても感動しました。
久しぶりに泳いだので、ホテルに帰宅するときには疲れきっており、
ダンさんにちゃんとお礼をすることができなかったのが心残りです。
またハワイに行く時はぜひ参加したいです。

Very great tour, picked up on time, friendly conversation. This was my first time snorkeling, and Dan, our guide, was terrific. I and my 11 year old are non-swimmer and Dan was very patient and worked to insure we had a great experience. We actually went pretty far out and Dan was besides us and checking on us to make sure we were ok. He was prepared with good equipment, got us through the Haunauma Bay entry easily, and took us on a wonderful swim with loads of fish to see. I would do this snorkeling tour again.

This was our first time snorkeling - and it was amazing! Dan was our guide and was absolutely the BEST! A must-do while visiting the Islands.

In late December, I participated in a snorkeling tour at Hanauma Bay. It was my first time snorkeling, and since my 7-year-old son was with me, I felt like I might have been a bit of a hassle for the instructor, but thanks to them, we were able to enjoy snorkeling. That day, I was suffering from severe jet lag and was incredibly sleepy, so in the end, I didn't join the tour and played in the sand with my child on the beach. I think it's better to go after you've adjusted to the time difference, as it requires quite a bit of physical energy. On the way back on the trolley, I spoke with the person sitting next to me, and they mentioned that around December, if the weather is good, it's not too hot, making it perfect for snorkeling. However, the instructor said that during that time, the weather can be unpredictable, and just last week, they were shivering while getting into the water. We were fortunate to have good weather.

12月下旬、ハナウマ湾シュノーケルツアーに参加しました。シュノーケルも初めてで、7歳の息子も一緒だったため、インストラクターの方には迷惑をお掛けしたかと思いますが、おかげでシュノーケルを楽しむことができました。その日は、時差ボケがひどく、眠くてしょうがなかったため、最後はツアーには行かず、浜で子供と砂遊びをしていました。かなり体力を使うので、到着して時差にも慣れた頃に行ったほうがいいと思います。帰りのトローリーで、となりに座った方と話しましたが、12月ごろは天気が良ければ、暑すぎないのでシュノーケル日和だとのことでした。ただ、その時期は天候に恵まれないこともあって、先週は震えながら水に入っていましたよとインストラクターの方はおしゃってました。天候に恵まれて、良かったです。

As expected from Hanauma Bay, where regulations are well established, the number of fish was incredible. I've snorkeled several times in the beautiful waters of Okinawa, but it doesn't compare. Hanauma Bay is full of colorful fish whose names I don't know, including the Yagara. Unfortunately, I didn't encounter any sea turtles, but it's definitely a place I want to visit again. I hope to go before I get too old. Since I'm not very good at English, I really appreciated the guidance in Japanese. It allowed me to focus on observing the fish with peace of mind.

さすが規制がきちっと整っているハナウマ湾なだけあってお魚の数がはんぱではなかった。
沖縄の海もきれいなので何度かシュノーケルをしましたが、比になりません。
ハナウマ湾は名前のわからないカラフルな魚・ヤガラなどなど、とにかく多いです。残念ながらウミガメに遭遇することはできませんでしたが、是非また行ってみたい場所です。そんなに歳とらないうちに行きたいな。
英語があまり得意ではない私は、日本語での案内がとても良かったです。安心して魚観察に夢中になれました。

We loved snorkeling at Hanauma Bay! We could see fish all around us in waist-deep water, and even though it was busy, there was plenty of space to have our own experience. The food in the snack bar was good (although a little pricey), and I liked that we could rent life jackets and stoppers for our snorkels from the company once we got there. Just make sure you bring extra money for the entrance fee, tram (it saves a lot of uphill walking), equipment rental, and food. You can also bring food on the beach, so pack some snacks and water to save some cash.

Our snorkel guide Dan was amazing. I can't swim and he was able to take me out to the deep! He was very patient. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed his tour of hanauma bay, it was definitely a highlight of our trip and even fulfilled one of my bucket list things to do. I will never forget the experience and recommend it highly. Also a huge bonus is Dan takes underwater pics of you snorkeling and post them up on his Facebook - free of charge!

Dan and his wife were great! We had two cars because we were a party of 7. Dan was my driver and he was very good at giving us a mini tour as we were driving to Haunama Bay. Once we arrived, we didn't have to stand in line at all. We went into a mini theater to watch a 9 min video orientation. Then we were off. We went down to Hanauma Bay via a trolly. He and his wife explained how to use our gear and made sure it was all on properly. We all had a great time. This was definitely a fun activity to do as a family. The underwater views were amazing. If you don't have a waterproof camera, its fine. Dan takes a bunch of pictures and uploads them on to his website/facebook page and gives you the link, so you can view them. Don't worry if you don't know how to swim, we had a couple people in our party who didn't know how to and they were just fine. Dan, thank you. We will definitely choose you again! :) -Mahalo!

Best experience ever. I don't swim great and have a fear of being in deep water. But Dan made the adventure comfortable. Kids loved it.

Dan from BlueHawaiiaDivers was great. He got us right in to the park had everything organized and ready to along with some great snorkeling tips. We got headed out and got to see a lot of sea life with great views and pictures. This made a great experience for me and my kids.

My wife and I had never been snorkeling and one of the things that my wife had wanted to do for years was to swim with the dolphins. We wanted to learn how to snorkel and found this tour on Veltra. The tour was scheduled the day after we arrived in Hawaii and we received a courtesy call reminding us of the time and place for pickup. Dan was right on time and met us at the pickup place. He was cordial and interesting to talk to. Everything was arranged for us at the Bay. His instructions were easy to understand and we headed into the water. We were later joined by Dan's wife Chieko and they stayed with us the whole time. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful, colorful fish as well as the turtle swimming in the bay!

We had a very enjoyable time and recommend this tour very highly! Dan and Chieko were wonderful hosts. We are grateful for the time they spent with us (as well as others that were with the tour) as we were able to go to other beaches and snorkel.

We had never snorkeled before, but Dan and his wife were awesome! We will never forget this. We are waiting for the pictures that we took with our disposable cameras. Lots of fish. I do not like putting my head under water, but they were soooo reassuring and made you feel very comfortable. Very organized. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Unfortunately we did not see any turtles, but it was still wonderful.

This was our favorite part of our trip to Hawaii. Dan and his wife were awesome guides and made us feel comfortable the whole time.

This was my first time ever for snorkeling and I was a bit nervous. Dan, my guide, was so patient and easy going. Made it so easy to relax and learn... He helped hold my hand and guide me through the bay, saw a lot of cool water life. This was an excellent tour, I didn't have to think about anything. Was picked up at the hotel, they brought the gear, snacks, and a trunk to lock up small belongings during the snorkeling. Our guide has an excellent camera and took pictures during the tour and posted it to facebook for me to see and share. Dan is well known at the bay and knows it inside and out. Had a blast and will definitely rebook with Dan, if I ever get a chance to come back to Oahu.
