I participated with two friends. It was my first time in Hawaii, and I only booked the flight and hotel, so I was looking for optional tours and found this one. They picked us up by car at the hotel and contacted us the day before for the pickup. Since it was just the two of us that day, they moved the tour time to the morning. Dan went out of his way to make sure the kids, as well as the adults, were comfortable in the water and we all had a great time because of the small group size. It was almost as if we had a personalized one on one tour. Snorkeling was great the day we went, we saw tons of fish! 結構な参加者さんがいたので、車が少し狭かった為、「助手席にどう？」と声をかけてくれたので、遠慮なく助手席に乗せてもらいました。主催者兼運転手さんは日本で仕事をしていたこともあり、簡単な英語と日本語でガイドをしながら現地まで連れていってくれました。スタッフの方も解りやすい英語で答えてくれたり、とても親切な方ばかりですので、全く英語が話せないという方も安心して参加できると思います。ビーチの方は、パウダーサンドみたいな感じでとても気持ちよく、ハワイに来たなーという気分を十分に味わえますが、シュノーケリングスポットとしては、ちょっと物足りないかなと。午後は自転車をレンタルしてカイルアタウンを散策しました。スーパーとか古本屋さんにも入って、ハワイの生活文化に触れられたりと、ガイドブックにはない楽しみ方も出来ます。また、帰りの道中にも絶景スポットで車を停めてくれて、写真を撮ったりしました。特に「これ、スゲーー！」ということはなく、あくまでのんびりビーチで泳いだり、プラプラ街を散策したり、道中のんびりドライブを楽しむことが出来るプランですが、刺激的なツアーの合間にこういうプランを入れると、良いエッセンスになると思います。

A good rule of thumb is to stay in water that’s at least six feet deep while snorkeling over coral.
Look for tropical fish including yellowtail snapper, parrotfish, angelfish, blue tang, grouper, and hogfish. We have come across with Turtle who is is not afraid to swim with us. With such a thriving and diverse ecosystem, there’s nearly as much to discover underwater in Hawaii as there is on land!

Dan brought all safety devices and snorkeling equipment. He adjusted the equipment to fit very well with each of us. As my kids were not good at swimming, Dan took much patience to train them. He brought mats and drinks to relax before getting into sea.
I saw dozens of very large angelfish, parrotfish (Blue, Queen, and Stoplight), as well as many species of damselfish and butterfly fish, Sergeant Majors, Yellowtail Snapper, and I even saw a Longspine Squirrelfish! It was an absolutely perfect day.
The water was very clear. At one point I was surrounded by hundreds of fishes all swimming calmly in one direction (schooling). All of a sudden they parted (odd, because I had been swimming with them for several minutes without them seeming to notice), and I saw the most awesome and colorful fish I've ever seen in my life swim 5 ft directly under me! I thought about was how every now and then you hear stories about HUGE catfish the size of Buicks at the bottom of deep lakes.
That being said, you can imagine my initial hesitation on the day of my snorkelling experience at I might have started out a little nervous, but I can tell you right now—it ended up being my absolute favorite experience on the trip.
I participated on 8/11 because I heard that there are fewer people on Mondays than on Sundays. That said, there were still quite a few people... but definitely fewer than at Waikiki Beach.
Upon arrival, we received about 20 minutes of explanation regarding lockers, rental equipment, and lunch, and then we were free to explore. The staff was fluent in Japanese, friendly, and had a great attitude, which made for a pleasant experience.
This time, I went with the purpose of enjoying the ocean, so I didn't go into town. (On a different day, I joined a tour to the North Shore and Kailua, where I did some shopping and had Kimo's pancakes.) If you're considering shopping in town, you might find that there's not enough time.
I thought about renting a bike to go to Lanikai Beach, but it became a bit of a hassle, so I ended up staying at Kailua Beach the whole time. However, I didn't have any trouble filling my time; I took naps on the sandy beach and walked along the coast.
For lunch, I had a meat plate lunch. It was simple, but the meat was tender and delicious!

ショップからビーチまで歩いて行く間にある、小さなマーケットで朝ごはんを買ってビーチで食べたのも、美味しかったです。

My friend and I had a great time. We biked from Kailua to Lanikai and did a little snorkeling and then back to Kailua for a little R&R on the beach.Kailua was one of the best beaches we went to, great water and sand.... wish we did the kayaks but I guess it's best to reserve something for next time!
My time at Kailua beach was probably the biggest highlight of my whole time in hawaii! It was beautiful and you are well away from the crowds that crowd the beach Waikiki. I chose snorkelling as my option and was not disappointed, the staff where you get your equipment from are so friendly and knowledgable, I was directed to the best part of the beach for snorkelling. I even swam out 1/2 a mile to the little island!! Which was good fun, easy enough swim, any average swimmer could do it. So beautiful and the water was so clear!
