Ricki was very patient and helpful in making our (my wife & my) first time snorkeling experience so good. My wife didn't know swimming but Ricki's tips helped put her at ease and she enjoyed it as well. Due to the small group nature of the tour, fortunately there was only 2 of us and we had lots of fun. Saw lots of fishes and reef. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for beginner lessons.

I have to admit that this being my first time snorkeling, I had never been so scared and nervous in my WHOLE life!!

Zola, our instructor, was extremely patient and caring throughout the entire experience. Even through I had to concentrate extremely hard with breathing and using my flippers, I was SO proud of myself and I couldn't have done it without him.

Ask for Zola for the snorkeling tour, you wont' be sorry. You will be in terrific hands!

This was so fun! We were totally new to snorkeling and a bit intimidated!
Dan, our guide, was patient and kind. He encouraged us and told us we had all day if needed.
After 10 minutes or so, we felt confident and ready. We saw two turtles, a moray eel, a tuna “tornado”,
And more fish than you can imagine. We snorkeled til we were too tired to go on! We are hooked.

Dan was our instructor. Awesome!! Cyndi was a first-timer; in fact, can not swim. Dan taught her how to be comfortable in the water, took her hand, guided her around the Bay. She loved it, sparked us on to additional snorkel trips on this vacation. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this excursion for all qualities of snorkelers.

I was worried about snorkeling with my child, but I felt quite reassured and satisfied with the activity because the guide stayed with us the whole time! At one point, my child started saying they were cold and wanted to get out, but I appreciated how kindly the guide handled it without any negative reactions. The shuttle car was nice, and we had a comfortable drive. They took photos with a GoPro, so we have great quality memories! Data download was also available! Thank you!

This was my second time snorkeling, and I participated in the tour feeling anxious about the deep water, as I could only do the crawl by myself. I decided to join after seeing everyone having fun in the reviews. I dislike cold water and am not a strong swimmer, so I was filled with the desire to back out until the last minute. However, the guide was incredibly thorough in teaching us how to breathe, and with the rental of the bodysuit, I was able to swim happily!

Once I got used to it, we went out to look for turtles, and by then, I was able to swim smoothly! Hanauma Bay is the best place; both snorkeling and the beach are amazing, and the guide is fantastic too! I highly recommend it! I will definitely join again when I go to Hawaii!

I went snorkeling for the first time! The female guide was very kind and not only sent me the photos she took of me but also pictures of the sea fish, since I didn't bring a camera. It was completely my first time snorkeling, and I felt like I was holding back the group of four, but I was fortunate to be with such a great group, and it turned out to be a fun time. However, I did feel a bit sorry for the others since the guide focused so much on me. But everyone was really nice, and I had a great time. "I want to swim if I go to Hawaii!" After receiving this request, I was looking for a tour that my mother (66 years old) could join. I was about to give up due to the age restriction (only up to 65 years old) when I found this tour.

This tour alleviated all my concerns (transportation, managing valuables, where to swim to avoid fatigue, snorkeling instructions, etc.). The transportation to the hotel eased my worries about meeting up on the way there, and it was appreciated on the way back since we were tired.

Swimming was made easier with life jackets, allowing us to float even in deep water. By swimming with the current, we could conserve our energy. Even if you don't know how to use the equipment, our guide Dan explained everything in simple Japanese.

Depending on the weather and climate, it might be better to rent a wetsuit. I swam on January 31, 2020. The weather was cloudy, and the seawater was cold (not freezing, but it felt "cold... If the weather was nice, it would feel good"). I wore a rash guard over my swimsuit and shorts. Towards the end of the swim, I felt cold. I bought the rash guard locally for about $50. My mother wore a full rash guard as well, but she still said, "It feels a bit chilly towards the end." It was a good decision to bring a bath towel borrowed from the hotel.

Things I was glad I brought from Japan included candy and powdered Pocari Sweat, which I mixed with water. I wished I had brought hot water on the day.

Seeing the photos and comments in the reviews here helped me know what to prepare in advance, so I wrote this as a way to give back! I hope it helps someone!

天候や気候によっては、ウェットスーツを借りた方がいいかも知れないです。
私が泳いだのは、2020年1月31日。
天候は曇りでした。
海水は、冷たかったです。（水風呂まではいかないけど、「冷たい…。…お天気なら、気持ちよさそう」な体感でした。）
服装は、水着の上からラッシュガードを着て、下は短パンを履いていました。
泳いでいる最後の方は、寒く感じました。
ラッシュガードは、現地で$50くらいで買いました。
母は上下ラッシュガード着てました。
それでも、「最後の方は肌寒いなぁ」って言ってました。
ホテルで借りたバスタオルを持って行って正解でした。

日本から持って行って良かったものは、飴、ポカリスエットの粉。水に溶かして持って行きました。
当日持って行ったら良かったと思ったものは、白湯でした。

This was my second time participating. The free time was long, and the explanations on-site were easy to understand, which was reassuring. Having lockers and changing rooms was really helpful. I was happy to eat the pizza again, which was very delicious last time. I had planned to ride my bike to the city, but I was caught in heavy rain, so I gave up on renting a bike this time. However, I would like to try biking next time!

Just before the tour, I was worried because the meeting place and time changed frequently. However, I learned that many more people than expected were visiting during the year-end period, and the guide adjusted accordingly. The meeting time changed from 7:15 to 7:00, and then to 6:45 three days prior. When I actually went, there were already a lot of cars parked at that time, and more kept arriving. We entered without waiting in line for tickets, received a video briefing inside, and then started the tour. I borrowed a suit, which was great. I didn't feel too cold and was able to enjoy snorkeling. On that day, the wind was strong and the waves were high, so we didn't see any turtles, but the guide did his best to search for them. I am very grateful for the time they took, as I was already satisfied. The snorkeling lecture was simple yet easy to understand. I had a very enjoyable time and can confidently recommend it to others. (The bad weather and sea conditions on the day were not the tour's fault, so that's just luck.) On the way back, around 9:30, there was a long line at the ticket counter (it looked like it would take a while to get in), so I thought that if you come during this time, you either need to join a tour or leave Waikiki by 7:00 to avoid waiting in line.

It was the best sea! You can rent bodyboards, snorkeling gear, and mats for free. The sand is fine and the waves are strong, so snorkeling is difficult. I got hooked on bodyboarding! The pizza for lunch was big and very delicious. The kids finished it all! There is a Japanese staff member who provides thorough explanations, which is reassuring. There are also bicycle rentals, but since it's for ages 13 and up, we couldn't do that and enjoyed the sea the whole time. Thank you very much.

最高の海でした！ボディボード、シュノーケル道具、ゴザを無料でレンタルできます。砂が細かく波が強いのでシュノーケルは難しいです。ボディボードにはまりました！昼食のピザも大きいですがとてもおいしかったです。子どもたちも完食でした！スタッフの方に日本人がおられますし、丁寧に説明してくださるので安心できます。自転車レンタルもありますが13歳以上だということでうちは無理でしたのでずっと海を満喫しました。ありがとうございました。

For snorkeling, it was our family's first time, but the practice made us feel safe and we enjoyed it. Most importantly, we were guided to the best spots to see fish, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful sea, including a surprise greeting from an eel.

The transportation was also great, with a cheerful guide who spoke fluent Japanese, providing sightseeing information and recommendations for delicious places, making for a fun and engaging time. I was initially unsure about joining a guided tour, but I definitely recommend it.

Additionally, after participating, you can get commemorative photos taken underwater, which you can upload to social media, making it a truly comprehensive experience with excellent cost performance.
