Our tour guide Jason was great. Just wished the seats was more comfortable for the long journey. We were able to feel every bump and crack on the road going to PCC, that part i didn't enjoy, even heading back to Waikiki was miserable and rough.

I participated because I wanted to have a new experience in Hawaii. West Oahu feels like the original landscape of Hawaii, where myths and legends remain, as it is still underdeveloped. At Kaneana Cave, being a power spot, I felt something mysterious just by being nearby. It was great to have a Japanese guide, which allowed me to ask various questions. Thank you, Akima. I was also surprised by many things at the drive-in and restrooms we stopped at, which left a strong impression. I was lucky to encounter a Hawaiian monk seal lounging on the rocks and was able to observe it slowly. During snorkeling, we also saw a sea turtle resting on the ocean floor, which made the kids very happy. The weather was good, everything went smoothly, and I was very satisfied. The photos taken by the guide were also very nice.

ハワイで新しい体験がしたくて参加しました。西オアフは開発が進んでいないので神話と伝説が残っているハワイの原風景という感じでした。カネアナ洞窟ではパワースポットというだけあって近くにいくだけで不思議な何かを感じました。日本人のガイドさんだったので色々質問でき非常によかったです。あきまさんありがとうございました。途中で寄ったドライブインやトイレなどでも驚くことも多く印象に残りました。また絶滅危惧種のハワイアンモンクシールが岩の上で寝転んでいるところに出会いゆっくり観察できラッキーでした。シュノーケリングではウミガメが海底で休んでいるところも見れて子供達も喜んでました。天気もよく、すべてうまくいきとても満足でした。ガイドさんに撮ってもらった写真もとてもよかったです。

I participated because I had already explored everything on Oahu except the west side. There were many points to see with a small group, and the explanations were thorough, which increased my knowledge in various areas. I was able to see many turtles while snorkeling. The only downside was the weather; it was mostly rainy, which was disappointing. Next time, I would like to participate during the dry season.

A Great, Informative Tour!

This tour was great. I learned so much about Oahu and Hawaiian culture, and loved getting to visit the island's highlights. Our guide, Ed, was an absolute highlight. He was so knowledgeable and funny, sharing endless facts and not allowing the full day tour to get boring.

The bus was comfortable, so even though driving for most of the day, it was relaxing and enjoyable. The buffet lunch at Kualoa Ranch was tasty, with a beautiful view.

My favorite sight was probably the Byodo-In Temple. Such a serene setting..

I highly recommend this tour for anyone without a car rental, wanting to get out of Waikiki for the day and interested in learning about the island.

Waikiki Beach and Hanauma Bay are crowded, so I was looking for other snorkeling tours when I found this West Oahu tour. In my case, it was almost a private tour, which was a great deal and a satisfying experience.

The vehicle (which was a new car at the time, haha) was driven by the guide, so it wasn't a shared bus, allowing for a comfortable ride even over long distances. We stopped at many points, including places I wanted to visit and some I learned about for the first time, and the guide provided detailed information about Hawaii's history, making the journey very enjoyable.

The best part is that there were no people at any of the points we visited! Most tourist tours are filled with other tourists. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to fully enjoy the private natural beauty of Hawaii. The snorkeling was also incredibly mystical and private since there were no people in the water. Beginners will have no problems at all; they provide excellent support.

何といってもどのポイントも人がいないのが魅力です‼どの観光ツアーも行く先は観光客ばかりですよね。プライベートなハワイの大自然を満喫したい方に是非おすすめしたいです。
シュノーケルも海に人がいないのですごく神秘的でプライベートなシュノーケルを楽しめました。初心者の方も全く問題ありません。しっかりサポートしてくれます。

I traveled to Hawaii with my older mother and sister. I signed up for the tour because I heard that the West Coast tour was rare. We were supposed to meet at 7:30 AM, but the three of us woke up at 7:20 and were late. We finally got in touch with Akima-san after 9 AM, but they had already moved quite a bit along the West Coast. We took a taxi to Makaha Beach and joined the tour. It’s a funny story now, but everyone, please make sure to set your alarms properly.

My 78-year-old mother tried snorkeling for the first time. She gave up partway through, but she looked happy to finally get into the ocean. I made Akima-san use a lot of energy.

The beautiful scenery and Akima-san's smile were wonderful. When there was trash on the beach, people picked it up, and it felt very natural and normal. It made me realize that visitors should also keep this in mind.

Although it was a short tour, I got to hear a lot of interesting stories. As plant lovers, we found it very fascinating and took many photos.

I participated in a tour on February 2nd. It turned out to be a private tour just for me and my friend. Our guide, Akima, shared various insights about the origins of Hawaiian language and island myths during our travels, which was enjoyable and something I wouldn't have learned on my own. During snorkeling, we got to see incredibly beautiful waters and even spotted a sea turtle, which was very satisfying. My friend, who can't swim at all, was even taught how to swim, making it a very fulfilling day that exceeded the tour's content. Thank you for the ride back to the hotel. I hope to have the opportunity again.

The knowledgeable guide provided detailed explanations at each sightseeing point and took many photos. During snorkeling, they greatly supported me, a senior, which allowed me to comfortably encounter two turtles. I was also able to see many beautiful fish, which was wonderful. I want to go snorkeling again. The driver was handsome, and it was nice that he played Hawaiian music in the car. Thank you, Bob and Akima!

Thanks Jason for making our day a memorable one. The places we visited, the spots we stopped at and the information imparted by you was great.
The Polynesian Cultural Centre was worth this visit and more as we couldn't fit everything into 1/2 day. The students from the university were very grateful to their visitors but we were grateful to them for sharing their various cultures with us.
Dinner was great and the Breath of life show was superb.

Even though I am not a tourist and have lived in Honolulu for almost three years, the circle island tour with Polynesian Adventure Tours was amazing to say the least. I had already been to most of the places we visited on the tour, but on that day I saw the island in a different light. Nothing like learning about Hawaii from a native Hawaiian guide! He was a human encyclopedia of information and facts. Culture, history, flora, fauna, movie set locations—he knew it all.

What specifically impressed me is when our guide talked about Captain Cook’s death. Many sources say that this European sailor might have been eaten by the natives. Our guide shared, however, that Hawaiian people never practices cannibalism. After Cook’s death his body was treated the same way a body of a local chief would be treated—the flesh was burnt but the bones remained intact for further burial. So, upon requesting their captain’s body, Cook’s team was issued a bag of bones, which made them automatically assume he had been eaten.

I would highly recommend the circle island tour to anyone wanting to see Oahu’s beautiful nature and also learn more about its history and culture. This tour will definitely broaden your horizons. I am thankful I had the opportunity to go!

This was my sixth trip to Hawaii, and I was drawn to the west side of Oahu, which I had never visited before, so my husband and I joined a tour.

We were surprised to find that we were the only two participants, but our tour guide Akima made it a wonderful experience with fun conversations and stories about Hawaii's history and legends. At Kaneana Cave, we were able to feel the mystical atmosphere, and in Makua Valley, we experienced the sacred mana in our bodies. It was a very strange sensation.

During snorkeling, I felt a bit nauseous due to the waves, but swimming with the turtles was a great experience.

We opted for the photo package. They took some lovely pictures of us, which was fantastic. The photo below is one I took, but it's a bit blurry.

Thank you, Akima, for the enjoyable guidance.

I definitely recommend visiting the west side of Oahu, where there are hardly any tourists, to recharge your energy!

For my husband and me, who have pretty much visited all the typical tourist spots, the opportunity to be taken to the uncharted territory of West Oahu caught our attention, so we signed up for this tour.

West Oahu was quite different from the scenery we had seen in other areas of Oahu; it had a strong local flavor and was a very interesting place.

There were no crowds, and we didn't see any Japanese people at all (laughs).

Since there was no need to cross mountains like when going to the North Shore, the views were mostly of the ocean, and I think we could enjoy the drive back and forth without getting bored.

During snorkeling, we saw many beautifully colored fish like those in a guidebook, and we were able to swim alongside a sea turtle that appeared by chance, which was very moving...

The guide is also an underwater photographer, so I think even those who are snorkeling for the first time can feel at ease as they receive careful instruction. (It was also fun in a different way when he dove down to show us a sea urchin!!)

I visit Hawaii twice a year, and next time, I would love to request this guide's private tour to hear more fun stories!

☆ As mentioned in the notes, during snorkeling, you leave everything in the car, so I think it's best not to bring valuables. A little cash for lunch and a towel should be enough. ☆

人がごった返していることもなく、日本人もまったく見かけません（笑）

ノースショアに行くときのように山を越えることもないので、景色も海が多く、飽きることなくドライブ感覚で行って帰って来られたと思います。

シュノーケリングでは、図鑑で見るような綺麗な色の魚をたくさん見れたり、偶然現れたウミガメと一緒に泳ぐことができ、非常に感動的でした。。。

ガイドさんは水中カメラマンもしているので、シュノーケリングが初めての方も丁寧に教えてもらえるので安心できると思います。
(潜ってウニをとって見せてくれたり別の意味でも楽しかったです！！)

年に２回訪れるハワイ、次回は楽しいお話が聞ける、このガイドさんのプライベートツアーをお願いしたいくらいです！

☆注意事項に書かれているとおり、シュノーケリング中は車にすべてを置いて行くので、貴重品は持参しないほうがよいと思います。ランチを購入するための多少の現金とタオルがあれば十分かと☆

Somewhat Boring

First part of the trip was informative and somewhat interesting. Half way through we stopped for lunch at the Kualoa Ranch ,food was not bad. Then after the lunch break the trip became very boring. Drove along the north shore of the island for well over an hour without stopping to view anything. We then turned inland heading to the Dole Plantation which took another 1/2 an hour plus. Stopped at the plantation for 15 minutes to buy gifts or have a Dole ice cream??. Then it was off to home sweet home. Our Driver Leo was very cordial and informative and generally helpful with the boredom. This tour should at best last the first part of the trip and head back. Sorry
