The breakdown of the tour time included about 30 minutes of travel to the Fern Cave, and around 30 minutes spent around the cave, totaling a tour duration of one and a half hours. Since our children were 4 years old and 1 year and 9 months, it was great that both the parents and kids could enjoy it without getting too tired. Of course, you can fully enjoy nature while on the boat as you navigate the river and at the Fern Cave. Additionally, there is a good place for children to play nearby called Kamalani Playground, which was another positive aspect.

Kauai Na Pali Coast Snorkeling Tour & Sea Cave Adventure by Makana Charters

Wonderful trip!

Went on the afternoon trip with my best friend, we went as a birthday outing for him. The trip was SPECTACULAR, the cliffs and the water were gorgeous, we saw a a whale, the captain regaled us with facts of the coastline, and saw one of the sea caves. It was a little rough and we did not go in but it was still just as amazing all the same. We did not do any snorkeling (as it would be a little late in the day to do so) but we were permitted to jump out of the boat to swim around. It was fun, had a nice little meal. I will definitely go with this tour again if given the chance. A+.

Staff was friendly from first walking into the warehouse to our tour guide, Bubu, who was very knowledgeable and informative of the histories of Hawai'i as well as great places to visit while on Kaua'i.
Our tube instructors Keoni & Doza? were great at making sure no one strayed from the path and made everyone comfortable within our group. Which is really great because you can't control your tubes.. you WILL be bumping into each other.
The water is also very brisk & most of the ride is underground (in tunnels) so a rashguard is probably a good idea unless you like the cold.
Definitely something fun to do with friends, family, your other half, etc. We want to do their ziplining tour on our next trip!

Great way to spent the day! Perfect for couples, everyone uses a double kayak. The included lunch was nice at the waterfall. Easy hike after the kayak route to the waterfall, any type of shoes or no shoes are doable. Our tour guide Izzy was super friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you !!

This boat ride was amazing. The entertainment was very good with Hawaiian hula dancing and singing. When we got to the grotto it was a short easy walk and once again we were entertained at the grotto where Elvis sang in the movie Blue Hawaii. On the trip back down river one of our guides gave us lots of history of the area including places where movies had been filmed.
It was a very pleasant morning and would recommend Smith’s Fern Grotto tours to everyone.

Scenic Kauai Airplane Tour to Na Pali Coast, Waimea Canyon, and Jurassic Falls

It was our first time in such a tiny plane. The flight was full of incredible views over almost whole Kauai with interesting information from the pilot including the music from movies filmed on this island. He used more different angles during the flight over the main spots - for example Napali Coast so we could really enjoy the splendor of nature. Can highly recommend this company for a flight.
