I had a great time doing the tubing activity! It was definitely relaxing and fun and I'd highly recommend it..The only issue I would have is that it's not a very long tour (mainly cause I could have kept floating for hours on end or at least done it twice). The guides were excellent and fun. They were genuinely nice and kept us entertained with stories, history, jokes..they made an effort to get to know the guests on the tour and were good at remembering names. I had Ian and Mike(?) I think thats his name, as they really were very genuinely friendly. You'll get wet on this activity but its not strenuous by any means and its something different to do. It was my first visit to Kauai and I had been hearing about this tour from other friends for quite some time so I am so glad I did it! I only wish I had also signed up for the ziplining too! Its a bit steep price wise as the tour really doesn't last that long but that being said I would do this again in a heartbeat because it was so relax

Don't forget to bring a towel; I forgot mine and had to buy one at a nearby supermarket. It's not a thrilling attraction; rather, it's a leisurely float down a waterway. There are a few tunnels along the way, which adds a bit of excitement. It's definitely worth a visit!

This was a fantastic tour! While we did not get to go hike and see an ancient Hawaiian village, it was still a very enjoyable tour. The staff knows their stuff and their tidbits were great to have on the tour. I loved how manueverable the boat was, allowing us to go more places than just a regular boat, including inside a sea cave, which was awesome. The snorkeling was fun too but the fish were not very active where we were. The vistas they provided us and the information within were great... I would go back on this again.

From start to finish, this was one of the best experiences we had on the island. The trip out to the start was comfortable, informative and entertaining. Having a sound system that allowed the guide to talk normally and permit even those in the back of the van to hear was absolutely perfect. Our guides (unfortunately we don't remember them all) were just a fun bunch of guys! They enjoyed their jobs and it showed!
We were never bored because we never had a chance to get bored. The guys told us what to expect and allayed any fears anyone in the group had. Riding the tubes through the canals and caves was easy and very enjoyable. This is not an "adrenaline rush" activity but don't let that deter you. It was a relaxing but fun event for all in our group from the ten year old out to grandpop! A wonderful activity for all ages and physical levels.
The food and entertainment the guys put on was perfect. They obviously like what they do, with the guests and themselves. We didn

We were contacted for an "upgraded" tour at no additional cost and accepted. We were slated for a catamaran but the upgrade got us a zodiac boat. We were supposed to have 1 hour of snorkeling with the tour and with the upgrade to recieve a nicer lunch.
The trip out was bouncy but tolerable. Saw the coastline, caves and spinner dolphins which was a treat. Got the tour of the old Hawaiian and the lunch was very good.
Things deteriorated when there weren't enough snorkles for all the people! (They were two short) We were told we'd have only 30 minutes to snorkle the reef which just wasn't enough time (no explanation for the shortened snorkeling time). The trip back was brutal in the zodiac once past Barking Sands. High chop, winds and bouncing on the edge of the zodiac was particularly rough (understatement). The driver did the best he could to minimize the bouncing but we found out that the afternoon winds made the trip we expereinced very typical. It was very, very unplea

This was amazing !!!
The Smith family really know how to put on a show!
Pros: Great food, awesome gardens, great fun time, plenty of time to have fun and take pictures. Easy fun experience. Great for ANYONE! Lots of peacocks to take photos with. Great staff. The after show was AMAZING cultural world tour far beyond my experiences at othe Luau's. It could easily compete with a Lav Vegas show!! You have to see to believe! Iwon't share more to avoid giving too much away. Smith's is one of the best Luau in Kauai. Even my teenager had a ball ! She was grinning ear to ear. PRICELESS!
Con: Its a really BIG CROWD becauses they seat so many, there's lots of people you eat with etc but not overwhelming. Just alot.
What to take with you. SunGlasses, mosquito spray, camera of course, easy dress (Where something comfy, pretty or fun). Hawaii dress or whatever. Its easy and nice.

This was our first vacation to Hawaii. The Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau was our first luau (and let me say the only luau we will ever go to). This place is amazing. The greeting with the shell lei's by the staff in their outfits felt very welcoming. The tram ride around the grounds was short, but very sweet. The food was excellent and authentic. The music during dinner was fun and entertaining, BUT the music and dancing during the luau ceremony was awesome! I went out and bought a book on the Fire Goddess Pele because of it. Would suggest this to anyone!!

This was one to remember.
We had a ball. The coast line scenery was breathtaking, just wonderful. Remarkable side of Kauai that you can not see any other way as there are no coastal roads on that side of the island. When you go on this trip you will see why.
This one I would recommend for sure.
Planning for this trip - you will want, flip flops (because you won't wear them on the boat so something light you can take off and leave in their storage locker), camera, sunglasses, and ready for a fun time. The boat is a catamaran and built perfect for this. The Captain and crew were awesome.
They serve dinner as per the tour and its a nice but very informal meal, sit where you can. So, if you are expecting 4 or 5 star and want to sit down and eat on china this you will not get that. But its fine food - teenagers loved it so you get the idea. They have a bar so just watch how much you drink becuase the ride can and does get bouncy.
Great guide. Very informative

It is GOREGOUS scenery between the five tunnels.
Why? Where else can you go tubing INSIDE TUNNELS in the dark (you have helmet with lights so don't worry).
It was fantastic and fun. The guides rocked and catered to every person and small children needs as well. They were responsive, helpful and funny.
Would do this again and again.

20 years ago this was a really great trip as you were able to go inside the cave and the water fall there was more than a trickle. Since the Iniki Hurricane in the 90's that is no longer possible. The landslide that happened ended the cave tour part and ended the waterfall being as it was.
I would recommend this to any one who has just landed in Kauai, older couples perhaps, who have never seen a fern grotto of any kind. For kids it is boring. Heard that a few times :)
As for a wedding... I would honestly not recommend this particular trip as it is average or just okay. The boat trip up and back in the boat was the best part. For wedding parties I would honestly recommend arranging something with the Smith Family or one of the local Resorts and doing it as part of a Luau. That would be better. Hawaii Activities can help you find many other events that would be better for a wedding. They rock!
This is a nice easy trip and okay to see. But if you have limited

I was generous with my stars considering our unseasonably bad weather day on the seas. This was certainly not any fault of the team, but be mindful that weather can play a factor in the enjoyment. Biggest negatives of the weather:
choppy seas prevent some of the potential exploration
cloudy skies prevents the sun from heating you up as you get wet/cold from splashing water
We're pretty adventurous and rugged so the weather only notched down the enjoyment 1 level, but one person got sea sick on our trip and I am sure their enjoyment was a ZERO.
Weather aside, a great way to see the wonders of the Napali Coast and of course do some snorkeling. My wife was a first time snorkeler and she had a great time swimming with the fish and TURTLEs. Sadly no dolphins during the dive but we saw some on the boat trip.
If you've done a tour of the coast, this is not the best time spent for snorkeling, but a great combination tour and snorkeling adventure...so good value for your precious

My husband and I took Na Pali Coast Snorkel Cruise June 29th and had such a wonderful time! The scenes are breathtaking and we do not have enough great things to say about the Na Pali explorer staff. We were given incorrect info by the concierge at our hotel and the staff worked with us so that we were still able to experience the tour we signed up for. The boat staff was wonderful and friendly which made the whole experience very enjoyable and entertaining. We learned some Hawaiian history from the staff and we were able see dolphins and sea turtles during our cruise. Overall the cruise exceeded our expectations and I would definitely recommend the Na Pali Explorer snorkel cruises to anyone!

First it's a beautiful place. They start you off by giving you a tram ride which is a speed contest among the drivers. They tell you about the plants in super speed mode. Your head is going so quickly from left to right by the time the ride is over you can't remember a plant or tree.
They say there is plenty of food but don't sit in the middle because by the time you get in line your picking the bottom of the bowls unless you want Poi which there is a plentiful supply. The show was good but you had better bring a pair of binoculars because for the majority of it you see it across a lake. Occasionally the performers were in front of you but not often enough. Felt weird is the word for it. Were used to having the performers a lot closer then what they give you.
For paying top dollar for the Best on Kauai I preferred the one with the railroad.

Before the luau show, we took a tram tour around the park, which featured various themed gardens and was quite spacious.
As for the food, I would say it was just average.
The main show included not only Hawaiian performances but also dances representing Polynesia, China, and Japan, which added a unique twist. However, for those who are repeat visitors to Hawaii and have seen other luau shows around Waikiki, it might feel a bit lacking. I was expecting Hawaiian and Tahitian hula, so I found it somewhat unsatisfying.
That said, the fire dance was definitely exciting, and if you're visiting Kauai, I think it's worth seeing this luau at least once. It's one of the few nighttime entertainment options in Kauai.
After the show, there are opportunities to take photos with the dancers, but I didn't have a chance to do that here. I ended up buying the photo they took when we entered for $20.

This was a great attraction to take! I was told the best way to see Kauai was by air, but was not crazy about taking a helicopter ride, so this was a great alternative. The pilot, Paul, was great and very informative! The weather wasn't the best (rained some), but we still got to see alot and Paul made sure that if it was raining in one area, we went around it to see it from the back side or another angle. It was great! There was six in my group and we all said we would do it again!
