You take off your shoes at the dock and board the boat barefoot. Most of the passengers are Westerners, with about 10% being Asians, including Japanese. The crew spoke only English, but they were friendly and pleasant. After departing, drinks and appetizers are served. Following that, you can enjoy dishes including tacos. It gets quite rocky, so I think it's better to wear a swimsuit.

It was very busy. Good food but my gluten free meal was brought 20 minutes after I was full from the salads provided. However I ate the pork , chicken from the buffet style feast and food was well labelled so I had no reaction to the food I ate considering I am allergic to wheat. Very nice staff. Show was good. I wished there was more history and traditional dance wear. The high pitched whale noises the one lady made hurt my ears for every song. I wished the warrior dance was longer as I enjoyed the drums and seeing less women dancers hehe. The fire show was the best part. Thanks so much smith family!!

We had a good time, but if there was one thing I would change would be the ending. It felt like the beginning it had a lot of excitement but the end it all went down. Great customer service by the way except from one of the venders selling in graved rocks.

Dinner was good, hot no breeze because of how patios is positioned, show was good but because it being under a metal building kind of took the authentic in Hawaii feel away. I think having one out doors with a pretty back drop is the way to go

During the 20-minute boat ride, there are hula dances and interactive dance activities, which are enjoyable. You will stay at the site for about 30-40 minutes. The spiritual atmosphere was nice.
I participated in the 9:30 AM tour, and the timing was just right for lunch afterward.

We took off our shoes and boarded the cruiser, excited as we set sail. Before long, we encountered dolphins. They swam playfully alongside the cruiser, showing off their jumps and spins. We were also lucky enough to see sea turtles and Hawaiian monk seals.

And above all, the breathtaking view of the Na Pali Coast from the sea and the beauty of the sunset were indescribably moving!

My wife and I attended the Smith Family Luau after the cruise to the fern grotto. The entire experience was amazing. The Smith family themselves were welcoming and gracious, the staff was easy to talk to and helpful. The food was out of this world good, especially for a large buffet. Even a downpour couldn't stop us from having a fantastic time. I recommend the luau to everyone and anyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience.

We participated with our son's girlfriend. The weather was perfect, and we were on a boat that could hold about 50 people. In the past, I had a trauma from a shaky boat in Thailand, but this time it didn't rock at all, and it was very comfortable. For lunch, we could choose our favorite drinks and eat as much salad as we wanted. The staff was very kind and always attentive. I was so happy that I didn't have to give a tip, but I decided to be generous. At the bow of the boat, dolphins joyfully led the way in groups, and the cliffs of Na Pali were breathtakingly beautiful no matter where you looked. I'm really glad we went.

昔、タイで揺れたボートにトラウマでしたが、今回は全然揺れなくって、快適でした。

We participated as a couple, and it was a more exciting cruise than we had imagined. I personally had a great time, but I think those who are prone to motion sickness would have a very painful experience, as it was difficult to stand properly for about three hours. You need to be prepared for that. However, during the cruise, the captain played JD and we enjoyed some great music, which was very nice. Along the way, we encountered dolphins and turtles, and the views of the beautiful islands were stunning. We ended with a toast with champagne at sunset.

A lot of planned/guided activities on Kauai are dependent on weather. It's a beautiful island to visit but weather can make it challenging. This was one adventure we will definitely do each time we come to Kauai. It wasn't affected by weather and the guides made it a really cool day. I recommend this to anyone. Request "the evil twin ". lol.

This was a very throw back to the past type of experience. Simple fun, nice people, old fashioned hospitality. The river is in full sun, would not recommend kayak option..not enough interesting flora along the way. Hula and Hawaiian music on the boat ride fun. Fern Grotto was devastated in 1992 and a shadow of it's former glory. Guide gave good local information in an entertaining sort of presentation. I'd take grandma and grandpa or very young kids on this tour.

My wife and I both enjoyed the luau at Smiths. The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are well maintained. The friendly family service provided by the Smiths was first rate. The food at the luau was incredible and plentiful. Open bar lasted about 1 1/2 hours featuring "mai tais" and beer. The luau show had a very real feel to, not like a "Hollywood" production and was fantastic. They accepted the Veltra voucher without any question. Loved the experience. Thanks to the Smith family and Veltra.

Wow what a great time. The crew of Kauai Back Country where absolutely the best. They entertained us from our first arrival to our return. Didn't expect the tropical garden setting. Didn't expect dinner with live music and then the show.
Pleasantly surprised at the subtle differences to others I've been too. Made me sit up and actually really take notice.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything and would recommend this Luau by far.

Who could pass up a tradition of Hawaiian tourism that has been in operation since 1947?! The Smith family was awesome. They were very friendly and kind. We were fortunate to be on the first boat of the day and in a small group. The morning was cool yet very comfortable. While we waited for our tour to start, the on-board talented trio of musicians were taking requests, joking and visiting with the passengers. Once on the river, the captain gave us an overview of the points of interests along the way as we passed stand-up-paddle boarders and kayakers enjoying the quiet river too. We were treated to a beautiful hula demonstration, native music and an improv hula lesson! After a short walk to the grotto, our "guide" explained some of the history and folk lore about the grotto, afterwards, they sang the Hawaiian Wedding song to us. It would be fun to go back again!

In front of the cave of the ferns, I was able to see a Hawaiian wedding song and a solemn hula dance. On the return boat, there were five Japanese people, so they provided a service of Japanese songs and performed hula dances. At the end, everyone had a hula lesson, and we all danced together in the small boat. I was really into the song we learned! It was a satisfying tour!

Highly recommend this tubing adventure. Our guides Johnny and Kai were amazing story tellers and hosts. For a 71 year old husband and wife and family of 20 and 30 year old's this was one of the high lights of our trip on Kauai. We were also surprised and was the rest of the tour group to have witnessed the long fabled Ditch Monster. Fleeting it was but seen non the less. The picnic at the end, while short in duration was a good end to the adventure.

Fun, relaxing trip

This wasn't nearly as exciting as I had hoped. I wanted it to be more energetic and intense, but it was actually very calm and relaxing. Our guide Lucky was absolutely terrific! The staff was fun, I really enjoyed everything they told us about the island, they were very knowledgeable and helpful.
