In the evening, I had a little time, so I spontaneously hopped on a bus to see the sunset. The sunset in Hawaii is very beautiful, and there was a bride taking photos on the beach, which I thought made for a lovely background. The bus stopped near the beach and stayed parked until the sun went down. It was great to be able to go right to the spot without wasting time, making it a meaningful experience.

I chose the LeaLea Trolley for the comparison of East Oahu lines. I also used it for the early morning Black Friday trip to Ala Moana and to the Honolulu Museum of Art. Compared to the bus, it’s easier to understand, but I feel the price is a bit high. I purchased a four-day pass, but since continuous use is a condition, there were some wasted days. There is a free service between Waikiki and Ala Moana, so I think it’s necessary to choose based on the places you want to go. For the Haleiwa area, there are only buses or optional tours, so it would be nice if you could go by trolley.

I found a fulfilling tour that required a reservation and was difficult to access early in the morning for the Diamond Head hike, along with sightseeing on the East Coast and the North Shore, and booked it immediately.

Although I couldn't make it to the summit of Diamond Head in the early morning, I was able to see the sunrise along the way, and the view from the top was beautiful. I also visited Blowhole for the first time and coincidentally saw a whale jump. Our guide, Jonah, not only provided explanations but also took photos for us at various spots. He even took us to a place with a malasada food truck and Makapu'u Point, which wasn't on the original itinerary, making me feel like I got a great deal.

I've been to the North Shore a few times, but it was my first time at the lunch spot, Kahuku Sugar Mill, which was enjoyable. Overall, it was a packed day of hiking and sightseeing, and I highly recommend this tour. Although the time from early morning to evening was long, there were only two groups (four people total), so we were able to return to Waikiki 30 minutes early, right on schedule.

I was able to enjoy a fulfilling sightseeing experience as we visited each destination at a good pace! The guide provided valuable knowledge about the places we were passing while driving. The guide also took photos at each destination, creating wonderful memories. The most impressive moment was at the blowhole, where I was very lucky to see a whale jumping in the distance.

I was a bit anxious since it was an English-speaking driver. It seemed like the meeting point was different, and even after 10 minutes, the driver hadn't arrived. When I tried to contact them, the line was busy. Just when I was starting to think they might not come, the driver called my name loudly, and I was able to get on safely. During the ride, I couldn't understand the announcements at all, and since we were the only Japanese people, I felt a bit isolated, haha. We also received two bottles of mineral water for the round trip! Since it was just a plan to climb, I didn't feel rushed and was able to fully enjoy the scenery and nature. However, I later found out that taking the bus would have been significantly cheaper, which was a good lesson learned.

Waking up early was tough, but it was definitely worth it! At Diamond Head, they lend you hand lights, so you don't need to bring anything. The view from the top was amazing! I also got to see many beautiful sights at the beach and in nature. Jonah shared the scenery, delicious restaurants, and information about Hawaii while driving, making the journey very enjoyable. Haleiwa Town on the North Shore was a great place for shopping at famous stores like Patagonia and enjoying acai bowls, which left me very satisfied! The nuts from the macadamia nut farm were delicious, and before I knew it, I had bought a lot of souvenirs (laughs). At the coffee farm I was aiming for, there were so many coffee beans to choose from that time flew by!

I highly recommend joining the tour for anyone who is considering it!

At the beginning of the tour, there were some irregularities due to minor troubles with transportation, but overall, I was quite satisfied with the tour!

Especially, I think I was able to enjoy the trip comfortably thanks to the excellent hospitality of the tour guide.

Regarding the content, it goes without saying that Diamond Head and Haleiwa were quite crowded...

If there are things you want to eat or buy, I think it's a good idea to do some research beforehand!

During this tour, there were no other people in our group, so although the guide mentioned the meeting times at each point, we were allowed to explore freely without worrying about time, which made it very relaxing and enjoyable!

Finally, I would like to share my impressions from climbing Diamond Head.

First of all, the earlier you go, the better. If you can enter early, you can secure the best spot at the top.

As for clothing during the climb, if it's sunny, a T-shirt and shorts might be a bit too warm. Even if it's cloudy, I think a long-sleeve shirt should be sufficient.

Now, here's a little tip regarding the climbing method towards the summit at the end of the Diamond Head hike (after passing through the tunnel). There are two paths: one is the hiking trail, and the other is a staircase (which is quite steep and has over 100 steps).

Basically, the guide recommends the easier hiking trail, which about 97% of people use, but if you are confident in your physical fitness or are younger and have no health issues, I think taking the stairs is a good option.

The reason for this is that the stairs provide a significant shortcut, and since there are usually no people on that route, you can reach the summit much faster. As a result, it becomes easier to secure a good spot at the top. If you are worried about being late or want to secure a good spot at the summit, I recommend using the stairs.

I climbed at a light jog, so it took me less than three minutes from the tunnel to the summit area. (However, I don't recommend running as it can be dangerous, but it was quite satisfying to pass by those using the hiking trail.)

Lastly, it gets quite crowded near the summit. When I went, there weren't any major issues, but there were some individuals from a certain Asian country (I'll leave it to your imagination) and an influencer (who was Japanese) behaving selfishly, which was a bit bothersome. Given the location and the crowd, I encourage everyone to maintain decorum and enjoy the sunrise together!

Even if you can't secure a spot near the summit, it will clear up after a while, so you can take plenty of photos, so don't worry! The view towards Waikiki is also spectacular, so I think it's worth capturing that as well!

ツアー序盤、送迎等で少しトラブルが起こった影響でイレギュラーな点も少しありましたが、ツアー全体としての感想は概ね満足できました！！

特にツアーガイドの方のおもてなしが良かった為、心地よく旅をできたと思います。


内容についてですが、言わずもがなダイヤモンドヘッドとハレイワの方はかなり混んでいたという印象です。。。

もし、食べたいものや買いたいものがあればリサーチしておくのがいいかと思います！

今回のツアーにおいては、同グループに他の方はおらず、自分たちだけであったため、各ポイントにおいて集合時間等をガイドさんから言われるものの、時間を気にすることなく自由に散策しても良いとのことでしたので、とても気楽に楽しむことができました！


最後にダイヤモンドヘッド登山時の所感を述べさせてもらえればと思います。

まず、早く行くに越したことはありません。早く入山することができれば頂上のベストスポットを確保できます。

登山時の服装については晴れていればTシャツ短パンでも暑いぐらいです。曇っていても長袖1枚ほどで大丈夫かと思います。

ここからは裏技ですが、ダイヤモンドヘッド登山終盤(トンネル通過後)の山頂への登山方法についてです。
そこには2つの道があり、ハイキングコースを使って山頂に行く方法と階段(かなり急でおおよそ100段以上あり)を使って登る方法があります。

基本的にガイドの方も楽なハイキングコースをお勧めされ、約97%の方がそちらを利用されますが、もし体力に自信がある方、年齢が若くて身体に問題のない方は階段から行くのが良いかと思います。

その理由に関しましては、階段の方がかなりショートカットができるということと、人が誰もいないためとても早く山頂方面に向かうことができるからです。
その結果、山頂にてかなり良いスポットを確保しやすくなります。
もし、登山に出遅れた方や山頂で良いスポットを確保されたい方がいらっしゃいましたら、階段を使われれるのがいいかと思われます。

自分は小走りぐらいで登ったため、トンネルから山頂付近まで3分もかかりませんでした。
(しかしながら、走るのは危険ですのでオススメはしませんが、ハイキングコースを利用されている方をごぼう抜きできるので、それなりの達成感はありました)

最後に山頂付近になりますとかなり混雑します。
自分が行った際には基本的に問題はなかったのですが、一部某アジア系の外国の人の方(どこの国かはご想像にお任せします)やインフルエンサー？的な方(日本人でした)が身勝手な行動をされており少し迷惑にもなっておりました。
場所も場所であり混雑もしているので、行かれる方は節度を守ってみんなで楽しくサンライズを堪能しましょう！

仮に山頂付近を確保できなくとも、少し時間が経てば山頂付近は空くようになる為、写真は十分に取れますので安心してください！
特にサンライズだけではなく、ワイキキ方面の景色も絶景ですので、そちらも撮るのがいいかと思います！

First, we took a tour to explore Diamond Head and the Haleiwa area!

While our exploration of Haleiwa was on our own, the Diamond Head tour was shared with other foreign guests (two groups). Therefore, after hiking at Diamond Head, we returned to Waikiki to drop off the participants who were only joining for Diamond Head. This made us feel like we took quite a detour since we were planning to head to Haleiwa afterward.

However, we were satisfied because we were taken to the places we wanted to visit.

If there are places you want to stop by or visit along the way, I think you can let the guide know, and they will take you there. Conversely, if you don’t communicate the places you want to stop at in advance, there’s a high possibility they might skip them, so it’s best to keep that in mind.

Overall, I was satisfied with the tour because they listened to our various requests, and the guide's hospitality was great!

ハレイワ方面への散策については自分たちのみでありましたが、ダイヤモンドヘッドのツアーは他の外国人の方(２組)と同じでした。その為、ダイヤモンドヘッドでのハイキング後、ダイヤモンドヘッドのみの参加者を送り届ける為に一度ワイキキに戻って参りました。
その為、ダイヤモンドヘッド後にハレイワ方面に向かう予定であった我々からするとかなり遠回りをされたという感じでありました。

しかしながら、希望をした場所にはきちんと連れていっていただいたので、満足できました。

もし途中で寄りたいと考えている場所や行きたい場所がある場合、ガイドの方にお伝えすれば連れて行っていただけるかなと思います。
逆に言うと、予め寄ってほしい場所等をお伝えしておかなければスルーされる可能性が高いため、その点は注意しておいた方がいいかと思われます。



ツアー全体の感想としては、色々と希望を聞いていただいたり、ガイドさんのホスピタリティも良かった為、満足しております！

When I was wondering where to go on my first trip to Hawaii, I thought, "I want to see the sunrise at Diamond Head!" and found this great optional tour.

It turned out to be a fantastic choice!!!

They took care of all the reservations for Diamond Head, so there was absolutely no hassle.

It was super early in the morning, but we were able to see the sunrise and get some good exercise right from the start of the day.

Since it was a small group tour, there was only one other group besides us.

Our guide, Jonah, was incredibly helpful, and he took photos of us at various spots, allowing us to capture many wonderful memories.

Personally, I found the experience of cracking open macadamia nuts with a stone to be really interesting (Jonah taught us how to do it).

We were able to accomplish a lot with this optional tour, especially since it would have been difficult to get around efficiently without a rental car. It was so much fun!!!

I participated with my mother, and it was so much fun.

Our tour guide, Jonah, was very kind, funny, and helpful. During the drive, he shared a lot of local stories and recommended some great restaurants.

The Diamond Head hike was more physically demanding than I imagined, so it's better to wear workout clothes (I wanted to dress up for all the photo spots afterward, but it was definitely the right choice to go in something comfortable for exercising).

The weather was great on the day we participated, and since we were the only ones booked, the guide took a lot of photos for us. At Sunset Beach, I was really happy to see a sea turtle.

It was a tour that my mother was very satisfied with. I definitely want to recommend it to my friends.

Our driver was wonderful and funny. I appreciate that he called us to tell us he had arrived at the pick-up spot. We didn’t see the van pull up and he was parked behind us. The hike is demanding especially in the rain. It was quite slippery on the way down. We had already purchased ponchos, but our driver had some for sale. We were able to complete the hike easily within the timeframe, and had time to stop in the gift shop. Just be aware of the weather and plan accordingly. Good shoes are a must!

I found this tour while looking for a morning tour of Diamond Head. It was great that we could visit various places not only in the morning but also further east and north.

Accessing Diamond Head early in the morning is difficult for individuals, so the transportation service was very helpful. They also provided handheld lights, which made the climb much more reassuring. I was deeply moved to see the sunrise.

During the trip, we stopped at various dining spots, and I was able to discover many delicious places that would have been hard to find on my own.

I was very satisfied to see various beaches and coastlines. I was also thrilled to unexpectedly see a sea turtle.

In addition to nature, we had a reasonable amount of free time for shopping, which I enjoyed.

Along the way, we received interesting information about the scenery from the car windows, making the sightseeing experience much more enjoyable than if we had explored on our own.

朝だけでなくそのまま東や北の方まで色々な場所を回れてとても良かったです。

ダイヤモンドヘッドは朝早くからアクセスするのが個人では難しかったので、送迎もあって助かりました。手持ちライトの貸し出しもしてくださり安心して登頂できました。
日の出が見られてとても感動しました。

移動途中にも色々なご飯スポットに立ち寄ってくださり、個人ではたどり着くのが難しい美味しいお店にもたくさん巡り会えました。

またさまざまなビーチや海岸線を見ることができて大満足です。
たまたまウミガメも見ることができて嬉しかったです。

自然だけでなく、ショッピングの自由時間も程よく取ってくださり買い物も楽しめました。

道中も車窓からの景色の豆知識も教えてもらえるので、自分たちだけで観光するよりも楽しく観光することができました。

It seems that my child really wanted to do this in Hawaii, so our whole family participated! I usually don't exercise and don't ride bikes, so I was quite nervous, but the staff member was kind and taught me patiently, and I was able to ride in just five minutes! I had been to see the wall art before, but this time I joined a Segway tour because I was tired from walking. At first, I was worried about whether I could ride it properly, but even someone as uncoordinated as I am was able to master it without any issues after about 40 minutes of practice. Although the area has become much safer, it's reassuring to have a guide in the warehouse district. There were artworks that I wouldn't have found on foot, and I was able to take photos, making it a very memorable experience.

ウォールアートは見に行ったことあったけど、歩き疲れたので今回、セグウェイで廻れるツアーに参加しました。
最初、ちゃんと乗れるか心配でしたが、超運動音痴の私でも40分くらいの練習で問題なく乗りこなすことができました。
ずいぶん治安が良くなったとはいえ倉庫街ですので案内してもらえるのが安心です。
