There were three adults and three children (ages 7, 5, and 1). We were able to check in without any crowding, and the crew's service was good, just like last time. However, the main attraction, the whales, were only spotted about three times from a distance, with just their spouts and backs visible. It seemed that the children didn't find it very interesting. The adults might be satisfied with the views of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the sea, but it seems the children would have preferred something more engaging. However, I think they would have been excited if we could have seen the whales up close.

As forecasted, it was cloudy and very windy. Since light rain was also expected, I requested a schedule change if possible, but I received no response as the tour was confirmed to proceed on the day.

We headed towards the mountain while gradually acclimatizing to the high altitude, and we received some great souvenir information along the way. However, when we reached the gate, it was past 5 PM, and since there were no staff present, each driver had to process the entrance fee (toll) with a credit card, which caused a traffic jam.

In the end, we couldn't see the sunset, and the viewpoint of the crater was dark, so we missed the scenery of Haleakalā, which was disappointing. If we had known about this traffic situation in advance, we might have planned to pass through the gate before 5 PM. Especially since it was clear even to amateurs that the starry sky wouldn't be visible that day, seeing the crater while it was still light would have provided a different kind of excitement.

The guide's personality was impeccable, and their stories were captivating. However, despite the implication that we would be able to see the sunset, there was no mention of it at all...??

小雨も予想されたので、できることなら日程変更をお願いしたのですが、
当日は催行とのことでお返事はありませんでした。
　ゆっくり高地にならしながらいきますとのことで、お得なお土産情報もいただきながら、山に向かいました。
ゲートのところで、5時を過ぎていたので、係員不在の時は、各車のドライバーが、クレカで入山料（通行料）の手続きをしなければならず、渋滞となっていました。
結局、日没も見れず、火口の展望台も暗くなって見れず、でハレアカラの風景は見れずじまいだったのが残念でした。
もしこの渋滞事情が事前にわかっているのなら、五時までにゲートを通過する計画もあったのでは、と思います。
特に、その日は星空も期待できないのは素人でもわかっておりましたので、明るいうちに火口でも見れたら、また違った感動があったと思います。
　ガイドさんのお人柄は申し分ありませんし、お話も魅力的でした。
ただ、日没は見れるような口ぶりだったのに、そのことについては何も触れられず・・？？でした。

I woke up early, but it's disappointing that I couldn't see any whales. When you can't see them, you can get a re-boarding ticket, but the period is too short. Since I went on the last day of my trip, it ended up being a waste of money. My kids were also disappointed, which made me sad. I wonder if it's really true that there's a 95% chance of seeing them. If I ended up in that remaining 5%, that's just too unlucky.

We gathered at Aloha Tower in the morning. The shuttle costs $14, so we took THE BUS, which was fine. A whale seemed to appear for a moment, but we couldn't see it due to the boat's location. Still, we enjoyed the beautiful views of Diamond Head and the hotels. It was a bit disappointing, though...

I have used the Star of Honolulu countdown before, and I recommend the Polynesian Show version. The jazz performance I attended previously had a nice, calm atmosphere, but the countdown really needs to be lively! The fireworks were beautifully visible right in front of us. However, the dinner with tough and flavorless steak and an incredibly chewy lobster was quite disappointing, so let's just say that was part of the experience...

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see any whales. The day before my participation, there was record heavy rain, so I was worried about the weather, but fortunately, we were blessed with good weather. I decided to enjoy the cruise around Waikiki instead of focusing on whale watching.

I think the cruise duration was about an hour and a half. If whales can be seen from that distance, it seems they come quite close to the Waikiki area.

I signed up for a course without breakfast, but I thought at least drinks would be provided, so it might be a good idea to bring water or bottled drinks.

Also, I heard that if you don't see any whales, you can get a ticket for the next cruise, but I didn't hear anything about that. Where should I inquire about this?

残念ながらクジラは見れませんでした。参加前々日が記録的な大雨だったので、天気が心配でしたが、幸いに好天に恵まれ、クジラウォッチングではなくクルーズと割り切ることにして、ワイキキ周辺を楽しみました。
クルーズ乗船時間は賞味1時間半程度かと思います。あれくらいの距離の移動でクジラが見られるのでしたら、ワイキキ周辺近くまで近づいてくるのだなと思いました。

朝食なしのコースで申し込みましたが、飲み物くらいは出されると思っていたので、お水やペットボトルのﾄﾞﾘﾝｸを持ち込んだ方がいいかもしれません。

それから、クジラを見られなかったときの次回乗船券をいただけるということでしたが、そういったお話しはなく、これはどこで聞いたらいいのでしょう？

There aren't many places to walk, so you can bring elderly people along. On the way up the mountain, we enjoyed a fun car ride where we were introduced to inexpensive souvenirs at a local supermarket and heard local stories about Maui. The sunset from the summit was a breathtaking view from another world. It was wonderful. The stargazing included easy-to-understand explanations using a telescope and a laser pointer. Unfortunately, we were affected by the moonlight, but it seems that if it were a new moon, the starry sky would be amazing. I'm really glad I brought my mother and children along.

Star of Honolulu Dinner Cruise - Amazing and delightful

We attended this cruise on 2017/12/24 Christmas eve and it was a wonderful evening from start to finish.The star of Honolulu is an amazing evening from the coach "Royal Star" transferring us from the hotel to the ship and back with great care. Upon arrival, the 5 star guests were ushered to the boat and boarding was separate from others. A photo, drink and canapes were offered on the top deck. We were then shown our seats - private 2 person table along the window - and drinks were served. The menu was a 7 course meal with the Beef with Foie Gras being the highlight of the dinner! Tender and melts in your mouth. Overall the dinner is a 9/10. Wait service was amazing, very helpful, explained all courses and never stopped smiling. Drinks were well made and presented nicely.
The cruise it self takes you along Waikiki beach with some great views of Diamond Head and all of Waikiki. The ambiance the sunset creates is great for all couples and a very romantic backdrop to take photos and video.
Live entertainment was a nice touch, with a Jazz show. The singer had an amazing voice along with the pianist and sax player.
This is truly an amazing dinner evening with your spouse or partner.

My only disappointment with this cruise is the actual time to spend on the deck enjoying the ocean breeze. Dinner is served shortly after leaving the dock which having a course dinner is hard to get up and leave between each course. We did manage after the salad to leave for a few minutes. The waiter kindly waited to serve us the 4th course when we got back.

Overall this cruise is an amazing romantic and wonderful cruise for couples celebrating. Make sure to pay attention during dinner to get great photos of Waikiki, Diamond Head and sunsets.
Thank you to all the staff of #The Star of Honolulu for your professionalism making our experience a wonderful night.

I participated during the waxing crescent moon in December. The starry sky was beautiful, and the explanations were interesting. There were high-performance telescopes that allowed us to see things that are hard to see with the naked eye, making it a great experience. I wish I could have seen the starry sky during the new moon. The sunset was viewed from halfway up the summit of Haleakalā. The scenery was breathtaking. During my visit, there was no option for Grigori Ice, only Krispy Kreme donuts.

Chief's Luau - Polynesian Show & Dinner Buffet with Authentic Award-Winning Fire Knife Dancing

Hilarious and spectacular luau show

I love Chief Sielu's wit, and his personality really comes out throughout the show. You can really tell he enjoys hosting the luau and loves all his guests. They also have a lot of fire knife dancers (and world champions, at that) making their fire dances probably the most impressive ones out there.

The food is good and there's a cash bar (you get a few free drink tickets based on which package you book). The only problem with this luau is that it's so far away from Waikiki and starts right after rush hour, so you might want to leave earlier (perhaps at 3pm) to beat the traffic. Alternatively you could just spend the day in Kapolei at wet n wild or Coral Crater. Parking is $5 at wet n wild.

My husband and I attended the Star of Honolulu Sunset Dinner cruise on 12/06/17. When we had First checked in we were greeted by a nice lady and apologized and told my husband he was not wearing the proper attire for the night. He was wearing khakis and flip flops. The nice thing is they were accommodating going so far as letting borrow shoes and pants for the night. I was so happy cuz we had limited time and wouldn’t be able to reschedule. And it was my fault at not looking for a dress code when I booked it. Once we got on the boat we were greeted by the captain! He was super nice and well dressed (everybody was). The dancers, entertainment and food was AMAZING! Not to mention the excellent customer service they made sure they took care of all our needs. We will definitely do this again whenever we come back! Must do!!!

ラッキーなことに客は私達夫婦＋年配のご夫婦の計4人、それにガイドのヤマピーさんの奥様がアシスタントで参加されて少人数で回ることができました。
ホテルでピックアップ後、ラハイナの街を車で通り、ラハイナのおいしいお店・まずいお店をお聞きしながら、休憩兼ねてクリスピークリームドーナツに立ち寄り、出来立てのおいしいドーナツをいただきました。
その後スーパーでお寿司のお弁当を購入し（ドーナツもお弁当もツアー代に含みます）、いよいよ目的地へ向かいます。
クラロッジでは、そこでしか買えないお土産を購入（実は空港やワイキキでも売ってたりして？と思ったけど私たちが買った物は本当にどこにもなさそうでした）、途中火口を見たり少しずつ高所に体を慣らしながら山頂に到着です。
当初向かった場所は大混雑だったため、人の少ない場所に車を止めて、サンセットを見て、車内で購入したお弁当を食べた後、星空観賞です。
その日は月明かりがほとんど無い日だったので、まさに満点の星空！
普段星になんか興味が無い私でも感動しました。
星空の下、ヤマピーさんの今までの経歴なんかもお聞かせいただきました。
とても苦労されて今がある方で、私も仕事で大きなストレスを抱えつつ今回の旅行に来たこともあり、真っ暗闇なのを良いことにこっそり泣きながら話に聞き入っていました。
5年前、ハワイ島のマウナケアに行った時は空気の薄さにヘロヘロでしたが、そんな私でも今回のツアーは全然平気でした。
初のマウイ島、最高でした！！！再訪するのは難しいですが、何とかもう一度参加したいです。
このツアーを検討中の方、防寒準備して行ってください！

※ちなみにこのツアーで立ち寄ることはありませんが、ラハイナのルースズクリスステーキは超オススメです！ガイドのヤマピーさんもオススメしてました（ワイキキにも何店舗かあります）。
個人的にはウルフギャングよりもおいしいと思います。
