Overall the tour was very good with visits to many points of interest around Honolulu in the morning and then tour the PCC in the afternoon. Dinner was quite nice and the "breath of life" show as wonderful!
However, we wish that the driver would let us know that there would not be any time for lunch once inside the PCC as the activities inside the PCC would be jam packed. The bus driver should gave us 15 to 30 more minutes inside the Dole Plantation Center so that we could get a light lunch before we head off to the PCC.

Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful time at PCC however our guide kept leaving us behind, she moved so quickly thru the crowds that my husband had a hard time keeping up, pushing me in a wheelchair. She would just go on without us. We did not get to experience everything we paid for, the food was medicore, our guide could have cared less but the parade of floats was amazing and the HA breath of life show was an experience of a lifetime.

I participated in a luau workshop with a friend, and we had a variety of experiences! At that time, there were only three of us participants, including a man who joined alone, so it felt very private.
A student named Junya, who was really upbeat, guided us and responded well to our requests for things we wanted to do! Thanks to him, during the mini-show in Tahiti, we got to dance the Tahitian dance on stage with a cool male dancer, and we received a lot of applause from the audience, which made us really happy!
At Ali'i Luau, thanks to the man who participated with us, we were able to experience making poke, which wasn't part of our original tour plan, and it was super delicious and fun!
The show was truly wonderful, and the hour and a half flew by with a break in between! The fire dance was really amazing! My excitement was through the roof.
Since the time was long, I honestly had some concerns about whether it would be enjoyable in Hawaii, but I'm really glad I participated! I had a fantastic time!

Initially, it was explained that the tour, which usually takes two days, would be completed in one day, and I truly had a fulfilling day. Our guide, Kerina, was very entertaining, and we were able to learn about Hawaii's history and culture as well. I believe there are many Oahu tours available, but I highly recommend this one. Moreover, our driver, Minoru, who has lived in Hawaii for 28 years, was very kind and easy to communicate with, which made us feel at ease. For us, who are new to Hawaii, it became a wonderful memory. They even held a craft class during our lunch break and took us to Pearl Harbor, which was not originally planned, and I was very moved by that. I was surprised and touched to hear the story from the novel "Eternal Zero" presented as a true story. This tour of "Oahu" was so fulfilling that I think it would be worthwhile just to meet the guides. Thank you very much.

I highly recommend the Golden Circle Premier seats. You don't need to arrive early at the meeting place, but if you go ahead of time when heading to the venue after gathering, you will definitely get good seats.
This time, I was able to fully enjoy the "Waikiki Starlight Show" from the very front row, close to the stage! While listening to live music, there was delicious food (a buffet full of Hawaiian dishes) and a welcome event (lei, photo opportunities, ring toss, tattoos, conch shell contest, hula lessons) before the show, and I was completely satisfied and full without getting bored at all.

I was a passenger on the NCL Pride of America and the reviews for that luau were not good and I hate nasty food. So I chose Smith's for myself and my party and let me tell you, we were not dissapointed. First of all and probably the best thing was it was not as expensive as the other luau, next the food was great everything was very good (except the purple sweet potato, it was too dry and tasteless). The staff was great, they kept coming around asking if everything was okay. Also, there was a large crowd there, maybe 500 people maybe more, but everything ran smooth and efficiently. When we arrived we were escorted to a tram that took us for a narrated tour of the plantation and it was beautiful. Then we went into the large lanai to be seated for eating. I was able to experience the cultures of various Polynesian countries. On the deluxe tour, we explored the park in a small group. The female tour guide was very dedicated and left a good impression. We watched shows from Hawaii, New Zealand, Samoa, and Tonga, but the show from Tonga was particularly interesting. The post-dinner show, "Ha: Breath of Life," was breathtaking. It was a powerful performance that you wouldn't believe was put on by amateurs (students). The story allowed us to reaffirm the cultures of the countries we learned about during the day, and it made me want to visit the attractions we couldn't get to. The fire dance was also impressive. We were even able to visit the backstage where the students were preparing for the show, which was very moving. The dinner was delicious, and the ice cream we received during the show was also tasty, making it a great value for the cost. There are more highlights than I expected, so if you're renting a car, I recommend taking your time to explore from the opening. However, even spending a whole day, it's quite challenging to see all the village shows. It would be good to prioritize the villages you're interested in or the shows recommended by the tour guide when planning your schedule. The tickets are valid for three days (with paid parking), so for those staying longer, it might be a good idea to split the visit over two days. Through this tour, I became interested in Polynesian countries other than Hawaii. I immediately started looking up how to get to Tonga. I want to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center again.

The luau show was great because I could see various traditional dances☆
Although the seating arrangement doesn't guarantee that you'll get to sit in the front even if you line up early, it seems there's an option to arrange for seats closer to the front for an additional $20.
Since the dances are only performed on stage, sitting closer definitely makes it easier to see. It would be amazing if they could come down from the stage and perform up close at least once...
The event's schedule consists of half luau and dance shows, and the other half is a talk show with the host and performers. I think those who can speak English will enjoy it fully, but since I couldn't understand most of what was being said, I felt like I only enjoyed about half of what I paid for.
The dance portion isn't very long, so I wouldn't particularly recommend it for those who want to see hula or dance shows in depth, but experiencing it in person is a good experience, so it might be nice for first-timers. By the way, the show is dark, so it's difficult to capture footage unless you're using video.

For my kids first time in Maui I wanted them to experience a true Luau. We didn't want to pay the price that the Old Lahaina Luau charged (even though we had been to it on our honeymoon and loved it, and everyone always says its the best one on Maui) so we went to the Hyatt. I was disappointed that it was on concrete with the stage so far away, after we waited in the rain and sunny heat (yes at the same time!) in line for 45 minutes! The mai-tai's were not very strong either and we wanted to get the most bang for our buck. On the other hand, the show was entertaining enough, the staff was very friendly, and we met a lovely family from Tokyo, so we all had a great time. The fire dancers were a big hit! I thought the food was EXCELLENT, especially for such a large buffet, and my kids really enjoyed the whole thing. For the price, it was a decent deal since one of my kids was free, but I think The Old Lahaina Luau is the only way I would go if I had it to do over again.

Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau takes place on the family's 36 acre tropical paradise. Beforehand, guests are invited to stroll the gardens, see the lagoons, and pet the peacocks or can be driven around the grounds via tram with commentary on the variety of trees, flowers, and other vegetation.
Conch shells are blown, and the ceremonies commence with the uncovering of the pig, known as the "Imu Ceremony." A huge buffet with delicious shredded pork, salads, rice, breads, fruit, desserts and open full bar follow as you listen to native island songs performed by the Smith family.
An elaborate after dinner show follows at sunset in the open air theater. Hula dancers, fire dancers, and others display native island dances from as far away as New Zealand and China for your enjoyment.
Smith's Tropical Paradise Luau is not to be missed! It is a way to sample true island culture complete with the welcoming Hawaiian spirit that makes Kauai so unique!

I participated with my grandparents and my parents, making a group of five. Since the venue was the same as our hotel, the Hilton, it was very easy to join.
The explanations from the show’s host were all in English, so I was a bit confused about the buffet details and how to order drinks, but it wasn't a major issue, and I was able to enjoy myself. The show itself was enjoyable even without understanding English, and I think you can really feel the atmosphere of enjoying a show and dinner in Hawaii. The food was delicious, and although there was a line at the buffet at first, it became less crowded after everyone got their food, making it easy to go back for seconds.
I also thought it would have been better to have a bit more detailed information about the meeting place and ticket exchange upon arrival. Even when I managed to get to the designated meeting spot, there was no specific guidance for Alan1, and everyone started walking to the venue, so I just followed along and ended up lining up at the ticket exchange window... I felt a bit anxious until it all started. In the end, I was able to participate properly, so that was good.
