Hawaii
We had a great time on this tour, our driver was fantastic, Keao made everyone feel like they were a friend. We had young children in our group and he entertained them a lot of the way, along with the rest of us. Very informative and wonderful way to see the island. Only negative, would have liked to have just a little more time at the Dole Plantation.
It was an awesome experience. i was hesitating to get this tour, but i'm glad i decided to do it.
My husband and I went to Oahu for the first time. We booked several tours through Robert Hawaii. The service staffs were excellence. Everyone is very funny, friendly, and helpful to us. We enjoyed our time at the Sunset Cruise, I recommended for all couples out there to try it out. We also get to do several luaus during our stays: Sea Life Park Luau and Polynesian Cultural Center Luau. They both were excellence. Food were delicious, and the show is fantastic! Although we like PPC a lot, our guide for that particular tour was not helpful and not knowledgeable. It was not as much fun as we would like it to be. I rather spend time on my own and explore the place. You definitely need a whole day to see all the cultures in this center. Regardless, we have lots of fun and enjoyed our time there. Definitely we will come for another trip and look to use Robert Hawaii service again. Thanks for your service.
This was the best tour of the whole trip. It was probably made that way by the tour guide that we had. Garfield was our guide and he was very informative and well liked. We learned more on this tour even though we had lived on the island before.
We really enjoyed this event. It was a great history lesson and a wonderful tribute to those who lost their lives.
We found the experience a total refreshment. From the loading on the ship to the disembarking, the personal attention to our needs was delightful. We found the food to be excellent. The only down side we found was their taste in music, but to each his/her own.
We found the Vow Renewal part not as exciting as anticipated but well worth the expense.
It was a dance show and fire dance performed by Polynesian people. There was a person cracking coconuts, and between the shows, the host introduced the upcoming show, but since I don't understand English, it was all gibberish to me. However, I was able to enjoy the show itself regardless of the language barrier. As for the food, my impression was, "Is this all there is?" By the way, the day we saw it was sunny, so it was outdoors, but it seems that the next day it was rainy and held indoors. I wonder if they can't do the fire dance indoors?
We loved it!
I decided to take a trip to hawaii and include this lovely romantic cruise ship for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. If was very intimate and romantic. We absolutely loved the experience and the staff. Kalani and Joe were such a joy. I would strongly recommend the 5 star honolulu dinner cruise to any couple celebrating a special or intimate event.
Very educational and at the same time interesting. Every American needs to experience this at least once. Gives you a different perspective than most other tours. There was a Scenic drive around the city, too, but the driver didn't stop for us to get out and explore the sights along the way: Iolani Palace, State Capitol, etc. I wanted to go in and see the inside or at least walk around the outside, but it was just a disappointing point and drive show that lasted 3 minutes. You are better off saving your money on this tour and renting a car to go see these places.
On the day we participated, the weather was bad, and our guide Shinya told us that we didn't know what would happen. However, as we drove higher, it was clear above the clouds, and we were able to see a sky full of stars! I thought we would just be watching, but he used a laser pointer to explain things, which made me very satisfied. Also, the moment the sun was setting was truly moving.
The photos taken by Shinya, who has a hobby of photography, were all great, and I felt glad that I chose this tour.
I was worried about altitude sickness, but I was fine, only experiencing a slight headache on the way back.
We loved this tour. The ride up the river was informative and absolutely beautiful. Walking the Grotto was amazing. So many types of plants. You will be amazed. Be sure to walk through slowly. Look at every flower and in between leaves so you don't miss the giant bumble bees or the beautiful birds. Some people walked too quickly and missed these wonders of nature.
The ride back was pleasant with the staff playing music and dancing. They were great guides and great people. One of the guides walked slowly with us and told us all about the different plants and what the natives used these plants for. Super informative. I felt sorry for those who didn't take the time to listen to his wealth of knowledge.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The Driver (from Samoa) was very knowledgeable and entertaining about the Islands and the Arizone /Missouri. He made it well worth the time and money.
I really enjoyed this trip, we didn't rent a car in Oahu and this was a great way to see the North Shore. We learned a great deal of Hawaiian history on the way up. And the town and Waimeia Beach are incredible. We snorkeled and swam in the waterfall at waimeia (?), it was a cool day but the water was temperate and so fresh - if you go to the waterfall swim in the lake surrounding it - its really wonderful. Bonzai Pipeline had no waves though so I'll have to go back in the winter.
The Oahu Dinner Sunset Cruise was very nice; the service was great and the food was excellent.
The trip was listed as a short, rugged walk, but is handicap accessible. I would have liked this information ahead of time, as walking on concrete is very painful for me, and I would have taken my scooter if I had known there was a paved walk way. I would like to go again sometime, when the ferns have recovered from the damage of the 2006 Hurricane. Cruise was informative, entertaining and fun!
Gave us a chance to spend more time at the North Shore (we stayed at Waikiki).
I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting the island for the first time. As long as the pick-up bus gets started, the tour is a fun and enjoyable one while learning a great deal about the history of Pearl Harbor. Tour guide was excellent.
An outstanding tour. We did the "Explorers' Tour" which was fascinating and John, our guide, was brilliant. A once in a lifetime opportunity to see the workings of a battleship and see what our brave men had to endure with 'life on board'.
I participated with a friend on May 1, 2008!!
I had only been to the Big Island once as a child, so I was a bit anxious, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience.
My friend had just arrived from Japan and was tired, but thanks to our guide's lively talk, we had an enriching time right from the first day.
The sunset at Mauna Kea was truly spectacular. After taking a break for lunch, we positioned ourselves above the clouds. At that moment, I was so moved that my eyes became teary. At the summit, the beauty of the sunset left me speechless. How can I describe it... it felt like being close to God...
While other tours left one after another, our tour stayed a while longer, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful gradient of the sky after the sun had set. Even though it was May, there was still snow on the mountainside, and it was cold, but thanks to the incredibly warm overalls I borrowed, no one returned to the car for warmth, and we could fully enjoy the wonders of nature. I felt a bit sad to leave after spending so much time there.
As for the starry sky, our guide mentioned that the conditions weren't great due to clouds, but he tried to read the wind flow and move us to a better spot. For someone like me, who only knows the sky over Nagoya, it was a breathtaking sight filled with stars that made me unable to hold back my tears.
I became completely absorbed in the guide's explanations of the stars, even though I had no knowledge of constellations. As I followed the stars he pointed out with my eyes, it was truly magical!! My favorite was Canis Major. It was adorable.
This tour would be romantic for couples, fun and educational for families with children, and enjoyable for friends like us.
Above all, our guide Shinya's stories, enthusiasm, and tone of voice were fantastic. He was easy to understand and entertaining, while also being very professional. I would love to use this tour again with another friend next time.
I was really happy that he kindly answered questions about the Big Island beyond the tour. Thank you, Shinya!! Take care until we meet again~^−^☆
It was colder than I expected, but the starry sky was more amazing than I thought. I'm glad I participated.
We had a great time at Island Breeze. The location is excellent and the weather was perfect when we were there (April). The Mai Tai's were perfect and so was the food. Gotta try the poi!! Before the show started there was several interactive demonstrations that were fun. The show itself explained well the history and varied cultural influences of the Hawaiian islands. Overall a great evening.
It was a fun time for the family.
Smith's River Cruise was well done. Unfortunately the Fern Grotto sust
ained damage which no longer allows people to go inside.
I participated on April 16th. I considered other companies for the Mauna Kea summit tour, but I think choosing Nature School was the right decision.
Positive points: The guide, Mr. Yamamoto, was friendly and very knowledgeable. His explanations were very easy to understand.
The driving was safe, allowing us to feel secure throughout the ride.
They took us to more locations than any other tour, and we had plenty of opportunities for commemorative photos. (They took us all around Mauna Kea.)
They were the last to descend from Mauna Kea compared to other tours. (It seems there’s a rule from the observatory that we must descend within 30 minutes after sunset, but they stayed with us until the very end. It’s cold, and watching the sunset outside can be tough, but we could relax and enjoy it from inside the vehicle.)
The warm clothing provided seemed to be the best among other tours. (They had jackets and two types of full-body suits for women. The jackets were long enough to keep our feet warm.)
Stargazing was possible at the highest elevation compared to other tours. (Other tour companies had already descended, so there were no distracting car lights. We could see from a paved area, minimizing dust. Depending on the day, they might need to go lower due to wind conditions.)
I strongly recommend checking the moon phase before going. If the moon phase doesn’t align, it might be worth adjusting your travel dates for this tour in Hawaii. If you plan to take this tour, it’s quickest to ask on the Nature School website which day would be best for your visit to the Big Island.
It was amazing!!!!
We had a great time on this tour. We saw a little bit of everything. Rongo, our guide, was so much fun, and so knowledgable. He had so much personal knowledge of the island we often felt like we were somehow being driven around by an old friend who wanted to 'show us around'. Rongo was just a great, great guide. We had fun. We had time to take pictures anywhere we stopped, never felt rushed or hurried. Loved everything we saw and felt like we got a very complete 'view' of the island as well as it's history and all of the things that made 'Oahu'....Oahu. We took this tour our second day in Oahu in case we stumbled across something we would want to spend more time investigating later. We're glad we did. Rongo was also willing to give us tips on great places to eat, or grab a drink. We really had fun!
I just want to say this was one of the most enjoyable, educational tours we've taken. 'Mr. Bill' our guide was very informative and had a sense of humor. I would recommend the full Explorer tour to everyone, you learn so much. As my father was on the USS Colorado for twenty years and I always wanted to know what life was really like during the war on one of these beautiful ships. It is really hard to imagine what our boys went through during WWII and have great admiration for all those that served.
The tour can't be called fun, but i can say "don't miss it". It's very informative, quite solemn (the Arizona portion) and something i think every visitor should take in. It was well organized, good timing, and did everything we hoped it would.
We were very happy with our experience and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
we absolutely had a great time on the cruise we saw whale activity just as promised. The only two things that I would suggest in the future is that you may want to utilize more of the boats space with the activities you provided, people were too crowded. the buffet needed to be held open longer and have food available in supple amounts those of us who were told we could watch the whales longer and that the buffet would be there came back to limited food and a quick clean up.
