I participated in a helicopter tour from Hilo 20 years ago. At that time, I got motion sickness and remember feeling pale when I got off the helicopter. So this time, I recommended my daughter take motion sickness medication before we joined. However, the helicopters nowadays don't shake at all! Or maybe this particular helicopter was just superior. In any case, it was incredibly comfortable. Our pilot was Mr. Mochizuki, who is Japanese. The amount of information we could understand compared to an English-speaking pilot was completely different! It seems that it's not always possible to have a Japanese-speaking pilot, but we were lucky. By the way, applying through Mr. Mochizuki's homepage seems to increase your chances. Mr. Mochizuki, who has lived in Hawaii for a long time, impressively conveys the true state of volcanic activity. The highlight was the Kohala Falls. It felt like I had become a drone myself... However, it is an experience that far exceeds its value, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Lastly, please prepare a tip for the pilot. You might think, "Isn't the tour price high enough without a tip?" But when you get off, you'll want to give one. Especially if the pilot, like Mr. Mochizuki, makes sure that all passengers can enjoy the wonderful views by circling around.

The day before, I was so excited that I had trouble falling asleep, and I took a bus in the middle of the night to set off (laughs). After arriving, I received an explanation about skydiving. They also offered instructions in Japanese, which was reassuring! Then, I watched the sunrise and waited for my name to be called before heading to the jet! As we ascended to a higher altitude, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, and the moment I stood in front of the door was the peak of my tension! Once I jumped, it was over in an instant, and the view of the horizon and the ocean from above the clouds was incredibly beautiful and moving!! After the parachute opened, we descended slowly, but the instructor kept the energy up, so I just relaxed and enjoyed it♪ This thrill has become addictive, and I want to try it again!! The guide mentioned that if the timing is right, we might be able to see whales?!

The flight departed at 7:00 AM, allowing us to see the sunrise. I was seated next to American passengers, but our Japanese pilot, Toshi, passionately spoke about the nature of the Big Island in both English and Japanese. Since it was the day after we arrived on the island and I didn't know much about it yet, it was great to see the overall landscape from the air! Toshi not only had a lighthearted way of speaking but was also an excellent pilot, making the flight very stable, so I could enjoy the scenery without feeling nauseous. We saw valleys and waterfalls that can only be accessed by helicopter, making it a very satisfying flight! The price is high, but I believe it was worth it! Thank you very much, Toshi!

The parent-child diving experience was amazing. The staff were cheerful and really got everyone excited. The weather was great, and the views were stunning, but I ended up with a sore throat, probably from all the noise in the low humidity. A throat spray is a must. For those with sensitive throats, flying with your mouth open could really aggravate it.

Sarah was the Most informative pilot ever out of our 6 helicopter experiences in Hawaii. The views of the craters at Volcano National Park we’re amazing and the number and size of the waterfalls at the end was unexpected and spectacular. All in 45 minutes! We drove the saddle road from Waikoloa for an hour and forty minutes to take the helicopter out of Hilo for a much lower cost than from the Kona side.

In the morning, while I was writing documents on the bus, I got car sick and felt unwell during the skydiving. After jumping, I lay down for a bit, and they were very concerned about me. However, the experience in the sky was, of course, amazing. It was cold, and I wanted to wear a jacket, but I was opposed to it. Some people were wearing jackets, so I wasn't quite sure what the standard was. I can't help but think it might have been okay to wear one...

I was a bit anxious about leaving my belongings just lying around, but everything was fine. However, I thought it might not be a good idea to bring too many valuables or cash, so I went with the bare minimum, which made my tip a bit smaller than I intended, and I apologize for that. The tipping system involved putting money in a box for the person who jumped with us.

I was able to return to the hotel earlier than planned, so I had plenty of time to enjoy the afternoon as well.

Waking up early was a bit tough, but once I arrived, I was able to see a beautiful sunrise! The instructor was incredibly cheerful, and the moment I took to the sky was truly beyond words—it was the best experience! Seeing the stunning views of Hawaii from above has become a memory I will never forget. ^_^

This is one of the most epic things I have ever done! Steve (the owner) really does an amazing job getting you ready to make the jump and making the whole experience something you will never forget! The helicopter flight was awesome and the diving was perfect. I couldn't possibly recommend anyone other than Trident Adventures for an incredible, one of a kind dive experience! Also, The dive gear they provide is top end, brand new SCUBAPRO equipement. No sketchy, under-maintained gear with these guys. It doesnt matter how deep or shallow you go, that new, quality gear makes a huge difference in comfort and safety.

I had always wanted to try skydiving at least once before I die, but as someone who is extremely afraid of thrill rides, I was tense until just a few minutes before the jump.

After arriving at Pacific Skydiving, I signed a scary waiver and learned the positions for jumping and landing from the instructor. After waiting a few minutes...

When my name was called, my whole family smoothly boarded the Cessna. The tension increased as we ascended! I thought, "There's no turning back now..." and my throat became dry (laughs). Before I knew it, we reached an altitude of 14,000 feet (4,260 meters), and the door of the Cessna opened.

I watched my family being sucked into the sky right in front of me... it was scary. But before I knew it, it was my turn, and I found myself diving into the open sky!!

During the free fall, I surprisingly had enough composure to pose for the cameraman! After the parachute opened, it was a leisurely stroll in the air. I was able to see the breathtaking views of Hawaii in 360 degrees. I even spotted a round rainbow in the clouds!

Without a doubt, it was the best experience of my life!!

The feeling of flying through the sky with views I had never seen before was the ultimate thrill, and honestly, I can't put it into words!

After the parachute opened, many people got motion sickness from the turbulence, so motion sickness medication is a must. (laughs)

I’m really glad that my whole family could have such a wonderful experience together!

From the time you walk up to the building, these people at Pacific Skydiving are the most helpful and fun people. I was Amazed at how they were able to make me feel so comfortable about this thrill seekers dream jump! Misha was my jump partner and he explained everything to me and taught me everything he could not only about sky diving, but about the island of Oahu as well. He quickly found that we had very similar interest's, so he made sure to let me know where to visit so I could enjoy my trip. My cameraman stayed out of my field of view to maximize my experience which was awesome! I want to thank everyone at Pacific skydiving for the best Birthday gift I could imagine.....The gift of freedom!!!!

When we were heading up in the helicopter, I started to feel my legs tremble, wondering if we were still going higher, but there was no time to hesitate as the diver jumped in with me! I had planned to strike various poses, but the resistance while falling made it hard to move, and I ended up flailing like a crab... haha.
The view was breathtaking!!!! The beautiful sea, mountains, windmills, and colorful buildings were all so stunning.
Once we were in the air, it was beautiful! Fun! The best!

ヘリで上へ向かう時にはまだ上がるのか、と足が震えてきましたが、飛び込むのを躊躇う余地もなくダイバーが一緒に飛んでくれました！いろんなポーズをしようと思っていましたが、落ちる時の抵抗で身動きがとりにくくカニがバタバタしてるようになりました、、、笑

Magnum Doors-Off Helicopter Tour - Oahu Island Scenic Flight from Honolulu

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!

I loved this experience. Location was easier to find. Check in was simple and easy. I liked the safety video. The real star was the helicopter ride. I highly recommend seeing Oahu from a helicopter and with the doors off!! I was able to take so many amazing pictures. I have been to Oahu many times and seen some of the sights from ground level, but it is nothing like seeing it from the air! Breathtaking!! The ground crew was fabulous, so helpful! I sat in the back on the right side. That was the only thing that was a bummer. I didn't get to a good view of Waikiki and some of the other sights on the left. The pilot, Steve, did do some circles to allow the right side riders to see, but many times, it was enough time to see and take photos. It is windy in the back, so I had to purse my lips throughout most of the flight to keep my lips and cheeks from flapping everywhere! I did wear a sweatshirt because there was a slight chill from the higher altitude. Overall, I give this experience a 10 out of 10!! If I every get back to Hawaii, I will take this helicopter ride again!!

Our pilot Ken Jones was great. He made us all feel very safe and he was very knowledgeable about the entire island. The pre-flight was very thorough and covered all of our concerns before we boarded the helicopter. We were very lucky with the weather and we saw canyons and peaks that are often inaccessible due to low cloud cover. Highly recommend this company.

It was my first time skydiving, but there was a brief explanation beforehand, and I was able to dive without any issues. Just before jumping out of the Cessna, I felt a little nervous, but diving into the bright blue sky was an amazing experience. At first, it was a bit cold in short sleeves, but by the time the parachute opened, the temperature had risen, and I was able to enjoy the view of the ground as I landed slowly. I would love to try it again if I have the chance.

I was very excited for my first skydiving experience. First, in the car that picked us up, we had to read and sign a consent form, which was quite lengthy and made me feel a bit car sick. I thought it would be fine to take motion sickness medication before skydiving, but I recommend taking it before getting in the car for those who are prone to motion sickness.

Upon arriving at Pacific Skydiving, we received a briefing about the fees in a room, but since it was all in English, we were a bit confused as we don't speak English well. However, we managed somehow (laughs). We showed our voucher and selected photos and videos.

Then, when our names were called, we were fitted with harnesses and received explanations from the instructor in broken Japanese. It felt like a very brief explanation, and before we knew it, we were boarding the plane (laughs).

Once we were on the plane, it all happened so quickly. For a moment after jumping, I couldn't breathe and honestly thought it might be tough to continue in that situation, but I quickly got used to it, and after that, it was just amazing.

I was completely hooked. I definitely want to experience it again when I go to Hawaii!

そして名前を呼ばれ、ハーネスをつけられ、インストラクターからカタコトの日本語で説明を受けます。これだけ？って感じの説明でもう飛行機に乗り込みます（笑）
乗ってからはあっとゆうまでした。
飛び降りてからしばらくは息が出来ず、こんな状況が続くのか、正直辛いかもと思いましたが、すぐに慣れて、そのあとはもう最高としか言えないものでした。
見事にハマりました。またハワイに行ったらぜひ体験したいです！

I signed up on the same day I arrived in Hawaii, and I couldn't make it in time, so I took a taxi from the airport, which cost just over $100. I participated alone, but there were several others who were also participating solo, so I didn't feel out of place at all. Right after jumping out of the Cessna, I was really scared, but the beautiful scenery of Hawaii spread out before me made me forget my fear. I'm really glad I took on this challenge.

During free fall, it felt more like flying than falling, and it was amazing. With a photographer, you can get beautiful shots during free fall, but they can't take photos while the parachute is deployed. With an instructor, they can take photos until the very end, so I felt there are pros and cons to both options.

Jumping from a Cessna at an altitude higher than the clouds!

I thought it would be a straight free fall, but I was instructed to hold hands with the instructor and descend while spinning, and even got to steer after the parachute opened... I came down sideways and while rotating. It was quite thrilling.

My wife, perhaps a bit nervous, enjoyed the descent while listening to the explanations of the scenery and taking in the breathtaking views. She mentioned it was even more fun than she expected.

I will definitely repeat this experience on my next visit.

P.S. The ground guide, Masa, is also fun and kind. I hope to see him again.

まっすぐの自由落下かと思いきや、
インストラクターさんに手を組まされて回転しながらの降下や、パラシュートが開いてからの操縦までさせてもらい…横向きになったり回転しながら降下してきました。
なかなかのスリルでした。

…妻は多少ビビりながらだったためか、景色の説明を聞きながら、絶景を楽しみながら降下したらしいのですが。
思っていた以上に楽しかった、と話していました。

次回も訪れたら必ずリピートします。

I could see the magnificent history of volcanoes from the past known only to the creator of the Earth up to today, June 27, 2019. The overlapping rivers created by the old and new lava flows from Kilauea, swallowing everything—human activities, roads, and fields—what incredible power. I could see how the lava flows that poured into the sea expanded this island. The awe of nature's power is evident. And the black sand beach that formed is perhaps a joke-filled gift from the gods to humanity. Next, at Kobaruyama, time transformed the lava into fertile soil that nurtures lush trees, and erosion created breathtaking canyons and waterfalls that drop 400 meters—these stunning views were experienced by the helicopter guests. Finally, the awareness and proactivity of the island's people in coexisting with the volcanoes, as shared by pilot Mochizuki, will likely stay with me for life, as I lead a rather ordinary existence. Moreover, this first helicopter tour of my life allowed me to witness the Earth's activities from a bird's-eye view. It may sound a bit exaggerated, but it changed my perspective on life.
