It was disappointing that we couldn't see dolphins, but the snorkeling was a huge hit with the kids. They especially loved the slide and diving from the boat, which were very thrilling, and they tried it multiple times. Although it was an English tour, my family, who only speaks Japanese, had almost no problems.

Our family consisted of our youngest child, a 4-year-old girl, and two boys aged 13 and 15, along with my spouse. We had a decent time. I'm not sure if it was because it was a Monday, but there were about 30 participants in total. The breakfast pastries and fruits, as well as the ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch, were plentiful enough that there were leftovers at the end. I thought the flavors were quite American and a bit bland, but my son really enjoyed the breakfast muffins, and my wife loved the vegetables served at lunch and went back for seconds. The deck was not crowded with that number of people, which felt just right.

After about a 30-minute sail, we arrived at our destination and started snorkeling. The instructions were only in English, but I assumed that the safety information was all that mattered, so I think as long as you have some common sense, you should be fine. The only warning was that "fins should not be worn until just before entering the water," and there were no other particular issues. My 4-year-old daughter, who dislikes getting her face wet, was floating with a life jacket. The three men dove down to about 4 meters to see the fish, but unfortunately, the fish were scarce... (this might have been specific to that day?). This was the biggest downside. I don't know how Hanauma is these days, but I don't think there's much difference (the water wasn't murky like at Hanauma). There was one more thing: the man steering the boat was completely unfriendly. The other crew members were all nice (no worries there). Also, if you're prone to seasickness, it's advisable to take medication beforehand. The ham and cheese sandwiches after snorkeling might be heavy for some people... but I still felt like I wanted to participate again.

我が家は一番下の子が４歳の女の子から上は１３、１５歳の男の子、そして夫婦で参加いたしました。それなりに楽しめましたよ。月曜だったと言う事なのかよくわかりませんが、参加者は総勢３０名くらいだったかな？朝食のパン類果物類、昼のハムやチーズのサンドウィッチも最後には余る位余裕でした。味の方は私はアメリカらしい大味だな~と思っていましたが、息子は朝食のマフィンを家内は昼食で出た野菜類を痛く気に入っておかわりをしていました。デッキはその人数だと混雑していず、丁度良い感じでした。
出航後、約３０分の航海で目的地に着きシュノーケルをスタートします。案内は英語だけでしたが、安全に関する話が全てだろうと思っていたので、ある程度常識が有ればOKだと思います。注意されたのは「足ひれは海に入る直前まで着けない」の１点で後は特にありませんでした。４歳の娘も顔に水がつくのが嫌いなくせに、ライフジャケットで浮かんでいました。男たち３人は４mくらいの所まで潜って魚たちを見に行きましたが、なにせ、魚影が薄い・・・（この日に限ってのことなのかも？）これが一番の欠点でした。最近のハナウマがどうか知りませんが、大差はないと思います。（ハナウマの様に水は濁ってませんよ）後もう一つありました。船の舵を取ってるおじさんが全く愛想がない。他のクルーはいい人ばかりです（心配なく）。それから船に弱い人は薬は飲んでおいた方が良い場合が有ります。シュノーケル後のハムやチーズのサンドは人に依ってはヘビーかもしれませんから・・でも、また参加したいという気持ちが沸いてきました。

It was the best day for me, as someone who loves snorkeling. The water wasn't as cold as I expected, and the clarity was great, allowing me to see various types of fish. There are quite a few species native to the Hawaiian Islands, so I recommend it to anyone who has experienced snorkeling in other countries.

Also, when entering the water from the boat, you can use stairs, so there's no need to jump off the boat, making it easy for beginners to get into the sea. While waiting to board the boat, I saw a small green turtle swimming by the jetty, so I was hoping to see more turtles, but since the snorkeling spot at Kealakekua Bay doesn't have a beach, turtles don't come close, which was a bit disappointing.

However, I was lucky enough to casually look up while floating in the sea and saw a White-tailed Tropicbird gracefully flying by. It's a bird that you don't often get a chance to see, so this was also a precious memory.

シュノーケルの大好きな私にとって最高の一日でした。
思っていた程水が冷たくありませんでしたし、水の透明度もよくて、色々な種類の魚が見られました。ハワイ諸島固有の魚が結構いるので、他の国でシュノーケルを経験した人にもお勧めです。
また、船から海に入るときは階段を利用できるのでボートから飛び降りる事もなく、初心者も簡単に海に入れます。
ボートへの乗船を待っている間、ジェッティで小さなグリーンタートルが泳いでいましたので、もっとカメを見られるかと期待していたのですが、シュノーケルをするケアラケクア湾はビーチがないので近くにカメはこないという事で、海の中ではカメにあえなかったのがちょっと残念でした。
ただ、ラッキーな事に、海でプカプカしながら何気なく上を見たら、シラオネッタイチョウ（White-tailed Tropicbird）が優雅に飛んで行くのが見えました。なかなか見るチャンスのない鳥なのでこれも貴重な思い出の一つです。

After being picked up at the hotel lobby at 7:30 AM, we headed to Hanauma Bay. We smoothly watched a movie without having to wait in line, and then it was time to prepare for snorkeling. It was my first time snorkeling, but after a simple practice in the shallow water, we enjoyed the nature of Hanauma Bay for about an hour. I struggled to kick properly and couldn't move forward easily, but Alan kindly pulled me out into the deeper water, for which I am very grateful. It was great to have a commemorative T-shirt and to have photos taken. Since it was just my daughter and me, and we went out without carrying any bags, we couldn't take photos ourselves, but Alan took some for us, which I really appreciate. My daughter actually dislikes having her picture taken, and whenever I hold up the camera, she either looks away or only lets me take pictures of her back. However, this time, Alan managed to capture her swimming, and I am extremely thankful for that. I quickly saved the photos on my PC when I got home, and now my screen is displaying the picture of us together with Hanauma Bay in the background. Thank you very much.

朝７時３０分にホテルロビーでピックアップ後、ハナウマ湾へ。列ぶこともなくスイスイと映画を観て、いざシュノーケリングの準備へ。初めてのシュノーケリングでしたが、浅瀬で簡単な練習後、１時間程度ハナウマ湾の自然を楽しみました。足のキックが下手なせいか、なかなか前に進めない私の手を引いて、ぐんぐん沖の方へ運んでくださったアランさん、感謝です。記念のＴシャツと写真を撮って貰えたことがすごくよかったです。娘と２人での参加、荷物を持たずに出かけたため、写真を撮ることができなかったけど、アランさんに撮って貰えたので、大感謝。実は娘が写真嫌いで、、、私がカメラを構えると必ずよそ見てるか、背中しか撮らせないのです。それが、今回、アランさんに泳いでる姿まで撮って貰えて、すご~く感謝してます。帰って早速ＰＣに保存、今スクリーンはハナウマ湾をバックに並んで映った写真に替わってます。ありがとうございました。

I had always wanted to visit Molokini Island, which I had only seen in photos, but I was a bit anxious about the English tours, so I quickly signed up for this tour with a Japanese guide that I found through Alan. This was my second time on Maui, and once again, driving in a foreign country was tough, so I requested a pickup service. They arrived on time in a van, and we arrived at Maalaea Harbor while rubbing our sleepy eyes. Despite the early morning, I was surprised by the number of boats and tourists. There were already about a dozen people waiting in line, and aside from my group and two other Japanese newlywed couples, everyone else was foreign.

It was quite chilly in the early morning, so it might be a good idea to bring a jacket. Fortunately, the Japanese guide gave explanations on the first floor of the boat, so I wasn't cold. (The English tours were all conducted on the second floor. The view is nice, but it's cold!) A friendly local Japanese person provided detailed explanations, so even someone like me with little snorkeling experience felt completely at ease. Molokini Island is incredibly beautiful! I had the best time playing with various types of tropical fish. It seems to be a super popular spot, as there were many other boats, but we felt like we arrived relatively early. It felt like a race to see who could get there first! (laughs)

After that, we made our own sandwiches and moved to a spot where we could see sea turtles. Personally, I enjoyed this spot more because there was no one else around, allowing me to snorkel at a leisurely pace. Overall, I had a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and it became a great memory. On the way back, we even spotted a manta ray near Maalaea Harbor! I was lucky. I want to come back again.

写真でしか見たことのなかったモロキニ島に前々から行きたいと思っていたのですが、英語ツアーではちょっと不安だったので、日本人ガイド付きのこのツアーをアランさんで見つけて早速参加することに。　マウイ島は二回目の今回も、やはり外国での運転はきつかったので送迎付きを頼みました。　時間通りにバンで迎えに来てくれ、眠い目を擦りながらマアラエア港に到着。　早朝にも関わらずボートと観光客の数にびっくり。　すでに十数人ほど列で待っており、自分のグループと他の日本人の新婚カップル二組以外は全員外国の方。　
結構早朝は冷えたので上着は持ってきたほうがいいかも。でもラッキーにも日本人は船の一階で説明があったので寒くなくてよかったです。　（英語ツアーは全て二階で行われてました。景色はいいけど寒い！）　気さくなローカルの日本人の方が丁寧に説明してくれたので、シュノーケル経験の浅い自分も全然平気でした。　モロキニ島は超きれい！　色々な種類の熱帯魚と戯れて最高でした。　さすがに超人気スポットらしく、他の船もずらずらいましたが、割合最初の方に着いた感じです。　誰が一番早く着けるかレースしてるみたいですね。（笑）
その後サンドイッチを自分で作って、海亀がいるスポットへ移動。　個人的にはこっちの方が周りに誰も居なかったのでゆっくりとスノーケルできました。
全体的にゆったりと楽しめ、いい思い出になりました。　帰りにはマアラエア港付近でマンタレイも目撃！　ラッキーでした。　又来たいと思います。

Every time I visit Maui, I've participated in one of the Trilogy tours. Among them, my family and I love this tour the most. It's simply wonderful.

This is the tour I would highly recommend for fully enjoying the beautiful waters of Maui. I'm a woman in my 50s and not a great swimmer, but I still join in. They provide life jackets, after all. Also, even though I'm relatively prone to motion sickness, I've never felt nauseous on this boat. I've heard that no one gets seasick on this vessel.

I've always participated with my family—my husband and two daughters. This year, it's just my husband and our younger daughter (a college student) joining me. I made the reservation through this site. I'm looking forward to it.

There's no greater luxury than forgetting the daily grind of work and spending leisurely time with loved ones.

Delicious snacks and drinks, encounters with sea turtles... I have so many unforgettable memories. I even sent postcards to my parents and friends in Japan from the boat. The crew prepared the postcards and mailed them for us. My husband sent one to himself. During our last visit, we had a video taken, which was sent to our home later. It captured moments of me and my family snorkeling, as well as people we met on the boat, making it a cherished keepsake.

This year, I'm looking forward to seeing the familiar crew again and am working on my diet to aim for a beautiful swimsuit look, even as an older lady.

美味しい軽食や飲み物、海カメさんとの出会い・・。忘れられない思い出が、いっぱいです。船の中から、日本にいる両親や友人に絵葉書を出したり・・。クルーが、ハガキを用意してくれて、投函もしてくれました。夫は、自分宛てに出していました。前々回は、ビデオ撮影もしてもらい、後日、自宅に送っていただきました。シュノーケルをしている自分や家族、船上で知り合った人々が写っていて、良い思いでの品になっています。

今年も、また懐かしいクルーの皆さんに合えるのを楽しみに、少しでも美しい水着姿のオバチャン目指してダイエットに励んでいます。

Snorkeling at Molokini Island is a major activity in Maui, and for those returning, I highly recommend this option. It's a small boat, so the service is attentive with fewer people, and the snacks and lunch are delicious! Of course, compared to larger boats like the Princess Kahiwa, it can be a bit bumpy, so if you're prone to seasickness, please take motion sickness medication before boarding. However, this allows for a fun, homey experience. There was no Japanese guide available. If it's your second time at Molokini, it shouldn't be a problem to have only an English-speaking guide, even if you're not confident in English. Just make sure you don't mix up your boarding number! I encourage those who can only speak a little English to give it a try.

モロキニ島へのシュノーケルは、マウイではメジャーなアクティビティですが、リピートの方は、是非、こちらをどうぞ。
小型の船なので、少人数で対応が行き届いているのと、軽食やランチが美味しい！！
もちろん、プリンセスクヒオなどの大型船とくらべて、揺れやすいので、船酔いしやすい方は、酔い止めを飲んでから乗船ください。
その分、アットホームな楽しい時間を過ごせます。日本人ガイドはいませんでした。英語が苦手でも、２度目以降のモロキニでしたら、英語ガイドオンリーでも、問題ないでしょ。
乗船番号さえ、間違えなければ！片言の英語しか話せない方も是非チャレンジしてみてください。

It was a wonderful tour that met my expectations. The clarity of the ocean was amazing, I got to see many fish, and the food was delicious. There were no Japanese staff, but they accommodated us without any issues. I would like to participate again. For those who dislike being around too many Japanese people in Hawaii, I recommend this tour as there were only a few Japanese participants.

I participated in the morning tour on May 22nd. The Fair Wind boat is located about 15-20 minutes south by car from downtown Kona at Keauhou Bay. The morning in Kona is incredibly pleasant, and driving while overlooking the Pacific Ocean is the best. After parking in the designated lot, I checked in. After showing my voucher and signing the waiver, I received my boarding pass and went to get my snorkel. There was a brief explanation before boarding, and then we set sail. Be sure to grab a seat on the second floor and soak up the sun. The sun in Kona is no joke, so make sure to apply sunscreen to avoid getting burned. I spotted a wild dolphin, but it seems that whales can be seen during the season. While enjoying a light breakfast of muffins, cake, Hawaiian juice, and coffee, we arrived at Kealakekua Bay in about 30 minutes. In the morning, the winds are light, so we mostly use the engine, but on windy afternoon tours, we can enjoy quiet sailing with the sails up. Once we arrived, the captain gave us safety instructions and explained how to use the snorkel before we entered the water. The sun was hot, so getting into the water felt like heaven. I was first amazed by the coral reef forest. Since it's a marine life conservation area, the water clarity is outstanding, and you can see the fish very well. What's particularly impressive is that the depth suddenly increases to about 10-20 meters from the coral reef to the inner bay, so when you go out, you can't see the bottom. The sensation of sunlight pouring down to the deep blue bottom is unforgettable. Kealakekua Bay is the famous place where Captain Cook landed, and it's a historically significant bay where white people "discovered" Hawaii in the 18th century. It is said that Captain Cook's ship was surrounded by 1,000 to 1,500 Hawaiian canoes upon landing. The season when they landed was just the time of "peace and restoration," and fortunately, they received a warm welcome. ５月２２日の午前ツアーに参加してきました。　コナのダウンタウンから車で１５~２０分南に下った所にあるケアホウ湾にフェアウィンド号はあります。　コナの朝は超気持ちいいし、太平洋を見下ろしながらのドライブは最高。　指定された駐車場に車を止めたら、チェックイン。　バウチャー見せてウェイバーにサインしたら、乗船券を渡されて自分のスノーケルを取りに行きます。　乗船前に簡単な説明があり、いよいよ出港。　ぜひ２階に席をとって太陽をガンガンに浴びましょう。　コナの日差しは洒落にならないので日焼け止めは必ず塗りって火傷しない様に。　野生のイルカを一匹見られましたが、季節にはクジラが見えるみたいです。　マフィン、ケーキ、ハワイアンジュース、コーヒーなどの軽い朝食を食べながら、ケアラケクア湾には大体３０分位で着きます。　午前中は風が弱いので大体はエンジンを使って行きますが、風の強い午後のツアーは帆を張って静かなセーリングを楽しめます。　いよいよ着いたらキャプテンから注意事項、スノーケルの使用法等の説明を受けて、水に入ります。　日差しが暑かったので水に入ると天国の気分。　まずは珊瑚礁の森に驚かされます。　海洋生物保護区なので水の透明度は超抜群で、魚達もよく見えます。　特に凄いのは珊瑚礁から内湾にかけて１０−２０m程は急に深くなっているので沖に出ると底が見えない事です。　太陽の光がディープブルーの底に注いでる感覚は頭に焼き付きます。　ケアラケクア湾はかの有名なキャプテンクックが上陸した場所で、１８世紀に白人がハワイを「発見」した歴史的な湾です。　キャプテンクックの船は上陸時、１０００~１５００ものハワイアンカヌーに囲まれたそうです。　彼らが上陸した季節は丁度「平和と回復」の時期で、幸運にも大変なもてなしを受けたそうですが、　３ヶ月後ハワイを離れ様とし荒海のため再びケアラケクア湾に戻った時は、ハワイは既に季節は変わっていて、３０００人もの戦士に迎えられたそうです。　彼らはアリイ（酋長ランクの王族）を誘拐しようとして失敗し、無惨にも殺害されました。　残念ながらキャプテンクックのモニュメントには上陸できません。一通りスノーケルを済ました後は、バーベキューを船上で頬張りながらくつろぎます。　ウォータースライダーやダイビング等を楽しめ、ハワイらしく遊べます。　大体お昼過ぎに出港し２０分位かけてケアホウ

A beautiful boat, American-style breakfast and lunch, and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters! Most participants were Westerners, and we were the only Japanese, but it was actually fun to communicate in broken English. However, I was quite disappointed that we didn't see the dolphins we were hoping for... The captain did his best to find them, but it's just luck, so there's nothing we can do about it. Since I do scuba diving, just being on the surface isn't quite enough for me (laughs).

きれいな船、アメリカンな朝食＆昼食、そして透明度抜群な海でのシュノーケリング！参加者は欧米人がほとんどで、日本人は私たちだけでしたが、かえって片言英語でのコミュニケーションが楽しかったです。ただ、目当てだったイルカが見れなかったのでかなりがっかり・・・。船長さんは一生懸命探してくれたんですけどね。これは運だから仕方が無いです。私はスキューバダイビングをやるんで、やはり水面だけでは物足りないですね（苦笑）

When I participated in a tour on Oahu before, I first heard about Niihau Island from the guide's talk, and it stuck with me. So, this time I joined a cruise that goes there. When I think of cruising in Hawaii, I usually imagine sunset or whale watching, but having it in the morning was very refreshing and quite nice. Since I don't usually work out, I didn't snorkel too much (though the underwater scenery was enough to cleanse my soul), and I soaked in the unique, refreshing air above the sea for a while. Still, the taste of beer and wine can feel so much better depending on where you drink them.

以前オアフでのツアーに参加したとき、ガイドさんの話のなかでニイハウ島というのを初めて知り耳にのこっていたので、今回そこに行くクルージングというので参加しました。ハワイでクルージングといえばサンセットかホエールウォッチングというイメージがあったのですが、午前中がメインというのも、とてもさわやかな感じで、またとてもいいものです。普段体をきたえていないということもあって、スノーケルはそこそこにして（といっても海中の光景には十分心洗われましたが）、時間の止まった、海の上独特のすがすがしい空気にしばらく浸っていました。それにしてもビールとワインの味は、飲む場所によってこんなにもおいしく感じるものなんですね。。

I experienced snorkeling, and it was amazing!

I found out about this tour after arriving on Maui. I decided to participate because I heard there was Japanese staff on this trilogy and the departure time was just right.

What impressed me the most was seeing sea turtles swimming right in front of me and the numerous fish! It was my first time snorkeling, but thanks to the staff's attentive support, I was able to enjoy it without any worries.

Also, the "cinnamon rolls" served for breakfast were warm and the variety of food was delicious, with exceptional service. I felt like a "queen"! So moving!

On the way back, the yacht sailing with the trade winds filling its sails was truly wonderful. I highly recommend participating with your family; I'm sure the kids will love it too.

If you decide to join the tour, I recommend bringing an underwater camera. Taking commemorative photos with the sea turtles would be fantastic!

このトリロジーに日本語スタッフが就任していると言うことと
出発時間が調度良かったので、参加しました。

We participated as a couple on our honeymoon. On the day of the tour, there happened to be no other customers, so we had two instructors guiding us to areas rich in fish. The day before, we had been to Waikiki Beach, but the clarity of the water was incomparable; Hanauma Bay was truly beautiful. There were many fish, and we swam alongside them, and we also saw sea turtles. According to the instructors, about 80% of the tours see sea turtles. If I have the chance to go to Hawaii again, I would love to participate again.

I participated in the morning tour on August 19. Boarding started at 9 AM. As soon as we boarded and looked down at the sea, we saw a large school of fish. Chased by five big fish, we observed how the school changed shape, which heightened our expectations for this tour. After leaving the school of fish behind, the boat set sail and arrived at our destination in about an hour. The water clarity was outstanding! Even from the surface, we could see the shadows of many fish. Here, the crew provided explanations about snorkeling in English. And then, it was finally time to go into the water. Because the Fair Wind boat is large, the nearby water temperature was cold. However, it was warm in the shallows when we swam with fins, so it was fine. There were many tropical fish in yellow and black, and the coral was incredibly beautiful. I even found an eel hiding in the coral. After swimming for a while, when I started to feel tired, I noticed smoke coming from the boat. Yes, it was the smoke from grilling cheeseburger patties. Tempted by the delicious smell, I returned to the boat and enjoyed a burger before heading back into the water again. Alternatively, you could play on the boat's slide. Adults were jumping in with the kids too. The boat set sail around 12:20 PM for the return trip, but there was still fun to be had on the way back. Most people didn’t notice them. We probably saw them for about a minute. If you're lucky, you might see them, so be sure to bring your camera wherever you go. It was truly a highly satisfying tour. In Kona, the wind picks up in the afternoon, and the waves can get a bit rough, so I recommend the morning tour. The crew only speaks English. Besides us, there were two groups of Japanese families spanning three generations and two girls traveling together. Most participants were from Western countries. If you're concerned about sunburn and want to sit on the first floor during the boat ride, make sure to check in by 8:30 AM and line up.

8月19日の午前のツアーに参加しました。乗船開始時間９時。乗船早々に船から海を見下ろすと大きな魚の群れが見えました。大きな魚５匹に追っかけられて、群れがいろんな形に変化する様子が観察でき､がぜんこのツアーへの期待度が高まります。魚の群れを跡に船は出港し、１時間ほどで目的地に到着。海の透明度は抜群!！。海面からも濃い魚影がみえます。ここで船のクルーから英語にてシュノーケル等の説明があります。そして、いよいよ海の中へ。フェアウインドの船は大きいせいか、付近の海水温度は冷たいです。でも、フィンで浅瀬まで泳いでいくとぬくいので大丈夫。黄色とか黒の熱帯魚がたくさんいて､なんといっても珊瑚が大変美しかったです。私は珊瑚の隙間にうつぼもみつけましたよ。ひとしきり泳いで、疲れたなと思ったころに、なにやら船から煙がでています。そう、チーズバーガーのお肉を焼いてる煙なんです。いい匂いにつられて、船に戻り、バーガーをひとしきり食べたら､私たちはもう１度海に戻りましたが､そのまま船のスライダーで遊んでもいいかもしれません。大人も子供と一緒になって飛び込んでましたよ。12時20分頃船は出港。帰路につきますが､この帰路にも楽しみはありました。船から４本ほど魚を釣る竿をおろしているのですが、それに魚がかかりました。けっこう大物みたいで、俄然周囲は盛り上がりましたが､あがってきたのはいがいとしょぼいカマスの大きいバージョンみたいなスリムな魚でした。そして、船の１階で当日みんなを撮影したビデオの撮影会がありました。それが終了して、港も近くなったころ､船の作る波間を遊ぶように５頭の野生のイルカを発見！。が、カメラは船の２階におきっぱでカメラに収めることはできませんでした。ほどなく港につき、波が消えたため､イルカも去っていってしまいました。ほとんどの人が気付いてませんでした。時間にして１分ぐらい見れたでしょうか。運がよければみれるので、どこに行くにもぜひカメラをお供にすることをお忘れなく。ほんと満足度の高いツアーでした。コナは午後は風が吹き、波が少し荒くなるので､午前のツアーをお勧めします。船のクルーは英語のみです。私達のほかに日本人は３世代ファミリーが２組と、女の子同士２人が来ていました。参加者は欧米人が大半です。日焼けが気になり､船の移動中１階に座りたい人は8時30分には受付を済ませ､並びましょう。

I was really anxious about participating alone, but the staff was friendly and I had a great time. The sea was beautiful and clear, and I was able to see a lot of fish, which was wonderful. There was a slide, and both adults and children had a lot of fun jumping off the second level of the boat. I think this is a place where families and couples can enjoy themselves widely.

This was my first time participating, and I was able to experience the cheerful and warm nature of the locals, as well as the beautiful underwater scenery of Hawaii Island up close. Additionally, the fact that there were few Japanese people added to the appeal. For those who are not good at English, I think they can still feel what others are saying through their intuition. Aside from our family of five, everyone else was from abroad. It was great to choose a tour with very few Japanese people. We were able to communicate in simple English with an elderly couple from America, honeymooning couples, the captain, and the crew, and the kids seemed to enjoy it too. Although not much Japanese was spoken, they provided explanations in Japanese for snorkeling precautions. The lunch sandwiches were delicious and very American. Since the age limit for children was up to 17 years old, my sons, who are 15 and 17 and quite big, could also enjoy it at a lower price. I didn't swim, but there was plenty of shade, so I wasn't troubled. The timing was just right, allowing us to enjoy our favorite activities in the afternoon as well. If I have the chance to go again, I will participate.

We boarded the Body Glove boat from the Kailua Pier in Kona. Looking around, I noticed there were no Japanese people. Aside from our family of five and a family that seemed to be from the Middle East, almost everyone else was white. I tried to communicate with the white family sitting next to us and an elderly couple, but I could only catch fragmented words I learned long ago. From what I gathered, the husband had been to Osaka for business. They were on a trip from the mainland U.S. to Hawaii on a ship anchored offshore. I reflected that I need to take English conversation classes when I return home.

Before long, we arrived at our destination, Pawai Bay. We were lent masks and fins and entered the water. Floating on the surface and peering down, I saw a variety of beautiful fish and some delicious-looking sea urchins. It was amazing, and after drifting for a while, I returned to the boat and devoured a sandwich filled with ham and salad, feeling very satisfied.

It was my first time snorkeling, and it was an experience that I could easily get addicted to. By the way, I really want that stick-like float!

われわれ家族5人と中近東の方らしい家族以外は，ほとんどが白人。隣に座った白人の家族や老夫婦とコミュニケーションを図ろうとするが,とぎれとぎれに昔習った単語が聞き取れるだけ，推測するところ，ご主人はビジネスで大阪に来たことがあるとのこと。沖合いに停泊中の船でアメリカ本土からハワイに観光に来たとのこと。帰国したら英会話を習わなければと反省。
　そうこうするうちに，目的地のパヴァイベイに到着。マスクと足ひれを貸してもらって，海中へ。フロートに身を任せて，海中を覗き込むと，色とりどりのきれいな魚，魚，魚，それにおいしそうなウニ。これはすごいとしばらく海面を漂って後，船に戻ってハム，サラダを一杯はさんだサンドウィッチをほおばり，大満足。
　はじめてのシュノーケリングでしたが，やみつきになりそうな体験でした。それにしても，あの棒状のフロート，欲しい。

Since I went a bit out of season, there were relatively few guests participating, and I was able to relax comfortably on the boat. The boat was also clean, and having a shower was a nice touch. 少し時期はずれに行ったので参加してるお客さんも割と少なく船の中快適に寛げました。船もきれいでシャワーもついてるのがありがたかったです。この日は海が穏やかで一日中シュノーケリングと船の上でボーっとすごせて日ごろのせわしない日本の生活を忘れてのんびりできました。
