My husband & I are in Oahu in our honeymoon and we saw this and had to book it. The staff is so friendly and helpful! We sat on the nets, which going there was fun and what you would expect, but after snorkeling they take you sailing for a unique look at the island, but beware if you are sitting on the net..you WILL get soaked...but it truly is so much fun! They take you to the reef where turtles go to go their backs cleaned by fish. My recommendation when you swim to watch the turtles is to hang out on the side of the group. Most people will huddle over the turtles, but the have to come up for air, so if you are not in the chunk of people you will get a closer look because they will head your way for air! We saw lots of them and even some baby turtles! The fish in the water are beautiful as well and will swim all around you. I think it is definitely worth the $51! Book today and don't forget your underwater camera like I did!

I participated in the tour on the afternoon of March 20. The wind was strong and it was a bit chilly. At the shallowest point, it was about knee-deep.

It was indeed a very beautiful view, and the seawater was clear. I was very impressed when we got off the boat and walked to the sandbar. However, once we reached the sandbar, there wasn't much to do. It might be good to bring a beach ball or something, but walking from the boat to the sandbar is quite challenging, so it might be better not to bring anything...

As for activities at the sandbar, the only things to do are taking photos of the guests (for a fee) and filming a DVD (for a fee). So, until that is finished, we couldn't return to the boat, leaving us with nothing to do. Since it's shallow, we couldn't swim either. Most people were just wading in the water (since it gets cold when you get out), almost like taking a bath.

There were many beginners in snorkeling, and with so many people, it was more about following the staff's instructions and just swimming forward rather than enjoying it slowly. I think it would be better to do snorkeling at a different location.

I was a bit disappointed, especially since my expectations were high.

ボートから降りて、サンドバーまで歩く時はとても感激しました。

サンドバーですることといえば、お客さんの写真（有料）をとることと、DVD（有料）を撮ること。
なので、それが終わるまでボートに帰ることもできず、何もすることがない状態です。
浅いので泳ぐこともできません。
ほとんどの方が海につかって（出ると寒いので）お風呂状態？？という感じ。

シュノーケリングも初心者が多く、人数も多いこともあって、ゆっくり楽しむというより、スタッフのかたの指示通り、とにかく泳いで進む！
シュノーケリングは別の場所でやる方が良いと思いました。

期待が大きかっただけに、少し残念でした。

The weather was perfect, and it was the long-awaited paradise of the sea. We walked in the sea (sandbar) that was about 40 centimeters deep, taking photos the whole time. I attended this with my husband and son. They are both strong swimmers, but I am not. I've never snorkeled before, and this is not where I should have tried it for the first time. I had a life jacket on, so I knew I was safe, but the water was very deep, and the water had 4-6 foot swells. We had to swim against the current to get to the turtles. The waves were too much for me, I got tired quickly, I was uncomfortable with it being so deep, and the waves so high, so I got back in the boat. My husband and son enjoyed it though, and got up close to the turtles. At one point some spinner dolphins approached the group, but because everyone is looking down, only a few of the swimmers saw them. The leader stayed with the group, and I felt the staff were excellent. After the snorkeling they put up the sail and we took off past Diamond Head, looking for whales. We didnt see any, but we spotted some bottle nose dolphins in the distance. And the ride was fun. The lunch was very basic

First, let me say it was a fun trip. The crew was awesome; they knew the area and did a great job of explaining everything we saw. The lunch was great. We got to see whales, turtles and dolphins. But when you book a snorkeling cruise because that's what we wanted to do and there's no snorkeling and no explanation as to why, that's why I'd say this is a rip-off.

Captain Cook Express 2.5-Hour Ocean Raft Adventure - Snorkel at Kealakekua Bay

Great Service and a Great Time

My family had a wonderful time on this snorkel adventure! Even though only 3 of us were signed up for the afternoon activity, the staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and flexible.

We had a wonderful ride out to Captain Cook's monument, with stops along the way to explain some of the history for that part of the island. The snorkeling equipment was in very nice shape and fit well. The reef was very nice, with a wide variety of fish, and plenty of time to see everything. There were plenty of refreshments and snacks, including fresh pineapple and guava waiting for us when we finished snorkeling. On the ride back, out guide took us further out into the ocean to see if we might see any whales or dolphins.

All in all, this was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon of our last day on the island.

We participated as a family. Thank you for preparing prescription goggles for my nearsighted son. We had the precious experience of being surrounded by dolphins. It was an indescribable emotion. The staff were very kind and their work was professional! When I called the day before, they properly informed me about the meeting place and precautions, which was very helpful. Not only did we see dolphins, but we also spotted manta rays and whales. I felt the beauty of nature on the Big Island, as well as the warmth of the people. The other families who participated were also very friendly, making it a fun time. I absolutely recommend this tour!

I drove to the location with a rental car. The parking lot was far from the office and hard to find, so having a map in advance would be helpful.

The boat was fairly large, and I didn't feel seasick at all. We encountered dolphins along the way. There were light snacks and drinks available on board.

The sea was incredibly beautiful, and I was able to see many fish, coral reefs, and sea urchins. There was also a slide, which was fun.

I was surprised to see an elderly woman, who looked to be over 80 years old and bent over, entering the water! Of course, she had someone accompanying her.

Since it wasn't summer, it was cold when we got out of the water.

WOW! From the moment we arrived at the pier (we drove as we had a toddler with us) Jenner was playful and set a great mood. Everyone was excited for a day on the water, even though the weather didn't look too great. The Sandbar was fantastic, it's a unique experience being in the middle of the ocean, walking around. My husband had NEVER snorkeled before and found it hard to put the experience into words; he saw fish he'd only ever seen in documentaries and he was fascinated by the colours and the way they would swim around him... he's now officially addicted. Lunch was really good; well organised, quick and tasty. Our little one kinda freaked out on the boat and the staff were great with cheering him up. Jenner played his guitar while we ate and I've never felt more relaxed and like I was "in Hawaii". I was able to take pictures with friendly sea turtles. I highly recommend snorkeling. The guide was attentive, so I felt safe enjoying the underwater experience. The meals were sufficient, and there were baked goods that were delicious. I'm glad the tour had more time than I expected. It can get quite cold, so it's better to have a jacket.

Unfortunately, my son was in a bad mood and we couldn't go into the sea, but the scenery was beautiful, and the food we had on the boat (sandwiches and salads) was delicious, so we were very satisfied! There were sea turtles that often come to play swimming around the boat, and they were so cute. The staff also noticed that we were staying on the boat and talked to us. I was worried about the weather, but we were blessed with good weather, and the sandbar had very nice conditions with water up to my ankles. The staff's response was wonderful, and I was able to have a great time. Since it can be quite cold on the water during this season, I recommend bringing long sleeves in addition to a towel. I also encountered a sea turtle, and it was a very good activity. I definitely want to participate again.

We just took this trip last week and had a great time. This was our first time snorkeling and the staff was so helpful in getting our gear ready and giving us pointers on what to do to make the most of our snorkeling adventure. This time in Hawaii, we weren't blessed with good weather, as there was a storm with rain and wind right up until the day before the tour. On the day of the tour, when we left Honolulu, the weather was still bad, and I was worried. However, when we arrived at the location, it was cloudy but slightly sunny. Yay! The sandbar was a place I had wanted to visit for a long time, and I was really glad I finally got to go. It was a wonderful place.

Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to our driver, Frankie Sakai, who was very kind on the way there, and to Yumi, who was also very helpful on the way back. Our guide on the boat, Yuta, was full of energy and made the experience enjoyable.

My son and his wife haven't been to the sandbar, so I will definitely recommend it to them.

The ocean is beautiful, anyway. Unlike Waikiki Beach, you definitely should visit the white sandbar. However, it was windy and quite cold that day, so I refrained from snorkeling. But a sea turtle came really close, approaching the people who were snorkeling, as if it were swimming alongside them. I captured that moment from the boat, and it was an incredibly valuable experience that left me very impressed.

The day started with heavy rain from the previous day, and it was still raining quite a bit on the day of the tour. The tour company even called to ask if we wanted to cancel, but we believed it would clear up and decided to go, and that was the right choice! As we were on the boat heading to the sandbar, the rain stopped, and for a brief moment, we even saw some sunshine! Many people canceled that day, so the tour had a small number of participants, which made it feel like a private experience, and we really enjoyed it. Standing in the middle of the ocean at the sandbar felt very strange and magical!

The barbecue on the boat was delicious, we spotted some turtles, and even though I was nervous about snorkeling for the first time, it was a lot of fun! The staff were all really nice and amazing! I highly recommend this tour!

この日は前日から激しい雨が降っていて当日もかなり雨が降っていてツアーの会社からもキャンセルするかの電話があったのですが、晴れることを信じてツアーに望んだんですが正解でした！船に乗ってサンドバーに向かっていると雨がやんで一瞬だったけど日差しも見えました！この日はキャンセルした人が多く、少数人数でのツアーだったので貸切状態でとっても満喫できました。サンドバーは海の中心に立っているみたいですごく不思議な感じがしますよ！

I really wanted to preserve those important memories, so it's quite regrettable. While the weather is beyond anyone's control, I hope they can improve the quality of the photos. Overall, it was a very enjoyable tour.

曇り空で気温も低めの日に参加しました。
前日の雨で海の透明度がやや悪かったです。
晴れた日と比べてしまうと良さはかなり下がると思います。
それでもウミガメや水中の魚を見ることが出来たりと楽しい内容になっています。

追加料金を出してまで頼んだのにこんなものかとすごく嫌な気分です。
大切な思い出をちゃんと残したかったのに残念でしかたありません。
天候はどうしようもできませんが写真はもう少しがんばって欲しいと思います。
全体的にはとても楽しいツアーでした。

On March 4, 2012, I participated in a tour with Aloha Kona Tours for my honeymoon. During this time, if you're lucky, you can see not only dolphins but also whales.

We were fortunate enough to encounter whales. Moreover, we were much closer than typical whale watching experiences (within 10 meters). In fact, they were swimming right under the boat. On our way back after swimming with the dolphins, a whale jumped right in front of us. I was so excited that I couldn't say anything other than "Wow!" (It was the same for Mr. Nawata from Aloha Kona Tours, right? lol)

There are various discussions about Japan's whaling practices, but I think this experience is one that everyone should have if possible. It had a significant impact on my personal perspective.

There were also plenty of dolphins. I was able to swim while dolphins were right in front of me. Experiencing "swimming with a pod of dolphins" is something you definitely can't do in Japan. Dolphins are just so cute, and there were even mother and baby pairs. I was able to swim multiple times by anticipating the movement of the pod. I got so excited that I swam too much.

As for what to bring, in addition to swimwear, it's a good idea to have a waterproof digital camera. I'll post some photos as well.

Thanks to Mr. Nawata and Ms. Tsuyako from Aloha Kona Tours, I had a safe and incredibly fun experience. (In fact, they were enjoying it with us, too! lol) Honestly, if you're going to the Big Island, you should definitely join this tour.

この時期は運が良ければイルカだけでなく、クジラも見ることが出来ます。

私たちは正にそれで、クジラと遭遇できました。

というかボートの下を通ってました。
また、イルカと泳いだ帰りにも目の前でクジラがジャンプしました。
興奮しすぎて「すげぇ！」以外の言葉が出てこなかったです。

日本人は調査捕鯨の話などでいろいろありますが、この体験は出来ればした方がいいと思いました。
私個人の考え方にとてもインパクトを与えました。

イルカもたくさん居ました。
目の前にイルカが居る状態で泳げました。
「イルカの群れと泳ぐ」なんて体験は絶対に日本では出来ません。
イルカはとにかくカワイイです。親子連れとかも居ました。
群れの移動に先回りして何回も泳ぐことが出来ました。
テンション上がり過ぎて泳ぎ過ぎました。

持ち物としては水着等以外にも防水タイプのデジカメがあった方がいいです。
写真も投稿しておきます。

Aloha Kona Tours縄田さん・つやこさんのおかげで、安全にとても楽しい体験が出来ました。
(むしろ一緒になって楽しんでましたね(笑)）
お世辞抜きにハワイ島へ行くならこのツアーに参加すべきです。

Since I am into diving, I went for snorkeling in the bay without expecting too much. It was beautiful.
There were plenty of fish, the reef was stunning, and the water clarity was high.
I think the clarity was comparable to that of the remote islands in Okinawa.
Drinks, snacks, and pineapples were all-you-can-eat.

On the way back, we encountered a pod of dolphins, and further away, there were whales.
It was fun on the large boat without any seasickness.

ダイビングやってるので湾でのシュノーケル、まぁそこまで期待しすぎず行きました。美しかったです。
魚も豊富リーフも美しい、透明度も高い。
透明度は沖縄の離島クラスかと思います
ドリンク、お菓子、パイナップルが食べ放題でした。

帰りにイルカの群れに遭遇、さらに遠くにはクジラ。
大きな船で船酔いも無く楽しかったです。
