Our family of 4 loved the variety of this tour! We have 2 older teenage boys (17 and 19) and our family loves to travel! The hike was a great way to start the trip! It was so beautiful going up and WOW, the view at the top is spectacular! The next stop was a food truck that had malasadas….don’t miss this! Yumm, my boys LOVED them! The rest of the tour was fantastic and the guide offered so much history detail and information! All the stops were great and we especially loved the north shore!

At Kualoa Ranch, there are many activities, and at my husband's request, we decided to go horseback riding. This was my husband's third time, while it was my first experience. Although I was nervous, I got to ride a horse and slowly lined up, swaying gently on the calm and smart horses. We enjoyed beautiful views of the mountains, movie filming locations, and the stunning contrast between the sky and the sea. Initially, I was very anxious, but in the end, I was extremely satisfied with choosing horseback riding and participating in this course. I still remember various scenes vividly. Since it was the season, there were only English instructors, but there was no problem as we watched Japanese videos on how to drive in a Japanese group! Driving the Raptor on rough roads felt like an attraction and was fun, and the scenery was beautiful. There were stops at key points where we could get off and take photos, making it a very good experience! Since we drove on muddy roads and it might rain along the way, it's better to put any belongings you don't want to get dirty in a locker or in a bag!

時期的にも英語のインストラクターのみだったのですが、運転の仕方などは日本語の映像を日本人グループで見たので問題なしでした！

As advice for those who will go in the future, I recommend bringing a waist pouch. There are few places to secure valuables on the horse, so it's convenient to have.

This is our second trip up the mountain with Mauna Kea Stargazing Tour & Sunset Adventure. We were so awed in 2015, we wanted to take it all in again. Of course, we never expected it to be even better than our first experience. Our host/driver/guide, Kea, was excellent! His knowledge of the land, the people, and the culture was extensive and well-delivered. We wanted to listen to him for hours more! Kea's respect and request, in Hawaiian, to visit the mountain was moving. It reminded us we were guests, and to honor those before us and where we were. Stepping out of the van for stargazing took our breath away. The stars are so brilliant. Kea had so much information to share on each of the selections he chose to show us through the mighty telescope. We saw Polaris, the Southern Cross, and the Milky Way all in the same sky. Quit searching and choose Kea with Mauna Kea Stargazing! Best in Class!

It was my first time ziplining, and I had a great time. Since there was no pickup service, I rented a car and easily made my way to Coral Crater Adventure Park. I booked the morning plan, and afterward, since Waikele Outlet is not far away, I was able to make the most of my day. It would have been even better if it were a bit more affordable, but I was satisfied because I could enjoy it safely and fun. There was also a plan with seven lines, but three lines were enough for us.

I had been curious about the horseback riding experience at Kualoa Ranch for a long time. It was great to have such a unique experience in nature.

It was my first time riding a horse, and I was scared, but I managed to get on. It was a bit tough since I had to put some strength into my legs. (I did end up with sore muscles the next day, haha.)

I'm not sure if there are several courses, but on this day, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't see the Jurassic Park signs or bones, but I still had a lot of fun. If I could have spoken English, I might have been able to ask about it...

The path we walked was quite narrow, which was a bit nerve-wracking, but it was also fun. We enjoyed views of the ocean, walked along narrow paths, and passed right next to a herd of cows.

Since you can't carry any bags while riding, I put everything in a locker. I only took my smartphone, secured it with a strap to my belt, and kept it in a pocket where I could easily access it, but you have to hold the reins with both hands to avoid dropping it, so it's at your own risk. If you want to take photos, it's best to attach a strap to your smartphone or something similar to ensure it doesn't fall. Your own safety comes first.

The instructor kindly took some photos for us, which was nice.

Wearing long pants is a good idea. The horse can get a bit messy, so it's best to wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, haha.

写真を撮りたい方は、スマートフォンなどにストラップを付けて、絶対に落ちないようにした方がいいです。自分が落ちないのが最優先ですが。

インストラクターの方がご好意で写真を撮ってくれていたので良かったです。

長ズボンが良いです。馬が勢いよくもよおすので、汚れます笑 汚れてもいい服装がベストです。

可愛いお土産も買えて満足でした。軽食もありますが、ワイキキとかに帰ってからの方が美味しいかも？

本当はバギー体験もしたかったですが、この日は無く。空いた時間は園内にいる動物を見たりしていました。

The hotel pickup location was ready earlier than the scheduled time. After checking IDs, we boarded the bus (it was a large bus that day) and headed to Kualoa. Upon arrival, our names were called, and we received our tickets. At this point, Japanese guests can receive their tickets from Japanese staff, who provide explanations about the facilities in Japanese, so there’s no problem for those who don’t speak English at all.

The tickets indicate the start time of the activities and the return bus schedule. For those riding horses, since you can't bring luggage, you can store your belongings in a locker for $5, which you can access in and out. They lend you a pouch that can be attached to the saddle, so you can bring water or a camera.

Before the activities, we watched an explanatory video (they ask what language you prefer), and they help you choose a horse that seems compatible with you, and then it’s time to ride. You don’t really need to control the reins because the horses are so smart and capable; as long as you ride quietly without burdening them, the horses will navigate the path on their own. If they suddenly stop, it’s usually for a bathroom break. (Laughs) But it’s still important to hold the reins properly for safety.

ジュラシックパークの撮影場所は通過するだけで、停まったり写真タイム等はありません。他のバギーや自転車で周るツアーは降りて写真撮影自由にしていました。

2時間乗馬が終わったら、40分ぐらい時間があります。お土産屋を見たり食事をしたり出来ます。
乗馬して直ぐにカメラマンの方に写真を一人一人撮ってくれますが、その写真は1枚$20でお土産屋の入口で買えます。

帰りのバスは行き先毎に異なりますが、列に並んで名前を確認されてバスに乗り込みます。

かなり無駄無くテキパキと動けるので良いなと思いました。
森の中を乗馬で歩きますが、日当たりがいい開けた場所も行くので、日焼け対策は大事だと思います。また、水はもらう事は出来ず売店でも500が1本$3.5ぐらいしていたので、持参が良いです。

トイレも綺麗で、仮設トイレっぽいトイレも中は日本と違って広く、臭く無く、綺麗です。

今回私は脚が悪い母と乗馬しましたが、スタッフの方が、その人に合う馬を選んでくれ、何より賢
い馬ばかりなので、少し心配でしたが、全く大丈夫でした。。。ただ2時間も馬に乗るので、お尻は痛いです。笑

My husband and I had a great time! The views from the top of the mountain trails were spectacular. Our guides were very helpful and made sure we had a fun and safe ride. We ended up being 2 hours early for our reservation and Maui Mountain were able to fit us in with the earlier tour. They were so nice and this was a highlight of out trip. My advice to anyone planning to ride is be prepared to get dirty and covered in red dirt, but it’s worth it. Also follow the instructions on how to get back to the main road when your ride is finished. We took a wrong turn and ended up lost for a bit on a one lane road. Had to back our way out.

Wailua River Kayak & Secret Falls Hike - Guided Kauai Adventure

If you are down for a decent workout plus an absolutely exceptional experience go on this excursion.

The kayak trip is breathtaking. You are paddling along more or less the Kauai jungle. Once you complete your paddle up it’s off to a beginner level hike.

The hike consists of a couple of water crossings and then being immersed in open cane like fields and then into dense rain forest. Then you begin to get peaks of the waterfall ahead.

The arrival at the waterfall is phenomenal. For us it was our first time to a Hawaiian waterfall and all the hype and what you expect to experience, well, it’s true! Bask in the beauty of the falls, go enjoy the water and feel it crashing about you, you won’t be disappointed. It was a bit chilly at first but once in it’s comfortable.

This is where you get lunch, the sandwiches were great, the cookies, those were delicious!

Once you get to spend the 45 or so minutes at the falls it’s time for the hike back. Take in the scenery, it’s truly breathtaking.

Once back at the kayaks it’s time for the 2 mile paddle back to the marina. Here’s our advice on the paddle, go easy heading out to save your energy for the paddle back. It seems there is always a head wind for the return trip, we’ve heard this from friends who did it in the Spring and we did it late June. Just expect a harder return paddle then out.

Our guide was Steve, so I can’t speak for the other guides. But he was a top notch guide. Shared great info on what we were seeing, the horticultural significance of the area and some Kauai history, you are traveling through where the Hawaiian Kings/Queens lived.

Couple of tips, if you are a mosquito attraction like my wife, bring some bug spray. Absolutely make sure you have a refillable water container, it’s hot and you are working. And, go do this excursion, hands down the most fun thing we’ve done on the islands.

It was a wonderful sunset. I was also able to see Subaru in Japan. However, there was too much moonlight, and the stars were not very visible. But later, I received photos via email, which became a wonderful memory. Mahalo! I recommend it.

On the day I participated, we were divided into a group of only Japanese participants and another group from other countries, so I was able to have a guide in Japanese. Even as a woman participating alone, I had a great time. Our driver and guide, Stefan, was fluent in Japanese and provided an enjoyable tour while also taking wonderful photos. Thank you, Sue.

The temperature, weather, and wind were all perfect that day, but since this is all dependent on nature, it's just luck. However, I've heard that there can be differences in weather stability depending on the season, so it would be good to research that before planning. Stargazing is not suitable when the moon is bright, so if you can choose your dates, I recommend planning around the moon phase.

We only observed a few stars through the telescope (just Venus on that day), so you might want to consider that as a bonus. However, there were plenty of explanations using a pointer, and I believe the beauty of the stars here is something you can't see anywhere else. It felt like a dream to be able to go up to 4,205 meters by car without experiencing altitude sickness. I'm glad I participated!

星空観測は月が明るいと不向きなので、日程を選べる場合は、月齢を見て計画されると良いと思います。
望遠鏡で星を観るのは、ほんの一部（この日は金星のみ）でした。なので、これは おまけと考えた方がいいかも知れません。
でも、ポインターを使っての説明は沢山してくださるし、ここの星の美しさは他では見られないものだと思います。
こんな風に高山病になることなく、車で4205メートルまで行けることが夢のようでした。

Had an amazing time at Kualoa! The ATV experience was awesome, the crew was amazing, very informative & humorous, would definitely recommend! Side note: it does get VERY dusty so dont wear white or schedule anything after this. We had to go back to our hotel to shower and get a change of clothes. Besides that, 10/10!

Unique Experience!

This ATV experience was unlike any I’ve had before. It’s located on a farm, so you get to see the farm animals, feed them, and pet them, which is pretty cool. You can enjoy the farm life before or after you ride. I HIGHLY recommend using their goggles. Sunglasses do diddly squat when you’re out there riding; it gets very dusty. You ride to a track, do many laps on the track, and then ride to scenic areas where they will take pictures of you. The track got boring after a while; I recommend that they utilize more space or a different area for ATV rides to change it up. They took a video of us on the track, and wanted $10 for one minute-long video that included my family and people I didn’t know that were in and out of the frame in a flash. Needless to say, we did not buy the video. Despite this, they were kind-hearted and led us to see the beautiful scenery where we could get the best pictures. I enjoyed the experience!
