I stayed at the King Kamehameha Hotel right in front of Kailua Pier, so it was easy to walk there for the 7:30 AM meeting. Once on the boat, there was a buffet area with bread and fruit, and coffee and water were also available for free.

After about 40 to 50 minutes of traveling along the bay, they provided explanations about various buildings and scenery, all in English. I just enjoyed the atmosphere. There are quite a few fish, but the water is cold! They seem to rent out wetsuits for a fee, so if you're not confident, it might be a good idea to borrow one. I gave up after about 20 minutes of swimming due to the cold and the waves, and returned to the boat early. The boat stays here for about an hour, and it might be tough for those who are sensitive to motion.

For lunch, the staff grilled hamburgers and vegetables on the spot, and you can make your own cheeseburger at the buffet. It was quite delicious! If you're not feeling seasick, definitely give it a try (laughs).

On the way back, it takes about another hour to return to Kailua Pier.

The boat is large and has a flushing toilet, which someone mentioned is much cleaner than many public restrooms. There’s a bar area, and soft drinks seem to be free. The staff comes around to each table to ask if you need any drinks. Smoothies and cocktails appear to be for a fee.

Among the participants, we were the only Japanese, but the handsome and beautiful staff frequently checked on us, so we were able to relax without worry. The sea water is cold, but the wind on the way back is also quite chilly. If you're in a wet swimsuit, you're bound to catch a cold. I recommend bringing something to wear over it, like a windbreaker.

カイルア桟橋の目の前のキングカメハメハホテルに泊まっていたので、朝7時半の集合も何の苦もなく歩いて行けました。
船に乗り込むと、ビュッフェコーナーにパンとフルーツが置いてあり、コーヒーやお水も含め、取り放題です。

カノアII号は大きな双頭船ですが、外洋の揺れはかなり大きく、乗客は40名ほどいたでしょうか、そのうち2割ほどはグロッキーになっていたように見えました。乗船する1時間ほど前には酔い止めをしっかり飲んで参加されることをお勧めします。

シュノーケリングポイントに着くと、乗客全員が1階に集められ、注意事項の説明が10分ほどあります。これもすべて英語です。
緊急の時はホーンを5回鳴らすからすぐに船に戻ってね、サンゴの上には立たないでね、船からあまり離れないでね、後いろいろ言ってたと思うのですが、まぁ周りの人とあまり異なる行動をしなければOKかと思います。
シュノーケリングポイントは、深さ15メートルぐらいあるでしょうか。さすがに澄んでいてとてもキレイです。お魚もそこそこいます。ただ、水が冷たい！！
有料でウェットスーツも貸し出しているようなので、自信のない方は借りた方がいいかも。私も20分ほど泳いで寒さと波の高さにギブアップです。早々に船に引き上げました。
船はここで1時間ほど停泊しています。ずっと揺れてますのでつらい人にはつらいかも。

ランチはスタッフがその場で焼いてくれたハンバーグや野菜がビュッフェコーナーに並び、自分でチーズバーガーを作って食べます。かなり美味しかったですよ！酔ってなければぜひ召し上がってください（笑）。

そして帰りはまた小一時間ほどかけてカイルア桟橋に戻る感じです。

船は大きくてトイレも水洗、どなたかが書いていましたがそんじょそこらのトイレよりよっぽどキレイです。
バーコーナーがあって、ソフトドリンクは無料のようです。スタッフが各テーブルを回って飲み物いらないか？と聞きに来てくれます。スムージーやカクテルは有料のようです。

参加者のうち、日本人は私達だけでしたが、美男美女のスタッフがしょっちゅう様子を見に来てくれるので、気にせず過ごせました。
海の水も冷たいですが、行き帰りの風もかなり寒いです。濡れたままの水着だと漏れなく風邪をひきそうです。ウィンドブレーカーなど、上に羽織るものを持参される事をお勧めします。

I made a reservation a week before the participation date, and it was for my second choice of time. The 9 AM slot is quite popular, so we participated at 7 AM. However, departing during the dim light of dawn allowed us to be moved by the changing scenery of the Big Island of Hawaii!

If you're staying at the Waikoloa Resort and have rented a car, I think it's better to go directly rather than waiting for the hotel pickup. It saves time and is smoother.

Fortunately, our guide was Toshi, a Japanese staff member, who was very friendly and, despite the early hour, guided us with high energy. (According to another guide in Hawaii, this person's helicopter tour is the most luxurious Japanese-language tour on the Big Island...) He provided guidance in English for the American couple we rode with and in Japanese for us, showing great consideration, even offering cool air to me when I felt nauseous. When there are foreign participants, the main guidance will be in English, so having a basic understanding of English can make the tour more enjoyable.

Of course, the volcano is a must-see, but I highly recommend the canyon as well. It's difficult to access the canyon on ground tours, so seeing it from the air in this tour really changes your image of the Big Island.

I tend to get seasick, and I forgot about that when I joined the tour, which significantly affected my enjoyment due to helicopter motion sickness... The volcano and canyon involve several turns and significant shaking, so I recommend taking motion sickness medication if you're prone to it. They sell motion sickness medication at the reception, but since you might not know if it suits you, it's best to bring your own. They do provide etiquette bags and wet tissues inside the helicopter. There is a break at Hilo Airport, so you won't be on the helicopter for two hours straight.

スタッフは運良く日本人スタッフのToshiさんで、非常に気さくで早朝にもかかわらずハイテンションでガイドしてしていただきました。（別のハワイのガイドさん曰くこの人のヘリコプターツアーがハワイ島で一番贅沢な日本語ツアーだとか…）一緒に乗ったアメリカ人夫婦には英語、私達には日本語でガイドしてくださり、酔ってしまった私にも冷風を当ててくれたりと気遣いがとてもよかったです。外国人参加者と同席になると当たり前ですか、英語がメインのガイドになりますので多少の英語が理解できるとより楽しいツアーになるかと思います。
火山はもちろんのことおすすめは渓谷です。渓谷は地上のツアーでは入ることが入ることが難しいので空から見られるこのツアーで、ハワイ島のイメージがかなり変わります。
私は船酔いが激しくそのことを忘れてツアーに参加してしまったためかなりヘリコプター酔いに楽しい時間が邪魔されてしまいました…火山と渓谷は旋回が何回も揺れも大きいので船酔いが激しい方は酔い止めを飲んで参加することをおすすめします。受付で酔い止めも販売されていますが体に合うかわからないので持参した酔い止めがおすすめです。一応エチケット袋とウエットティシュはヘリコプター内に常備されています。ヒロ空港で休憩がありますので2時間乗りっぱなしということではないです。
乗り物酔いでかなりグロッキーになってしまいましたが、そんな私でも今回のツアーはかなり満足できるものになりました！

I was invited multiple times by Tori-chan to participate, but I only joined as an observer, which I really regret. My daughter and son had the best experience, seeing manta rays up close for 45 minutes, including one manta that was injured and another that swam in circles four times. Next time, I plan to go to the Big Island to see the manta rays up close and meet Tori-chan again! (^O^)

This was my second time on the Big Island of Hawaii, and I finally got to ride in a helicopter. The pilot was Japanese and navigated kindly and carefully, which was very impressive. I also got to see waterfalls and landscapes that can only be viewed from the helicopter, and I was able to see three whales! I highly recommend it to everyone!

First, we went whale watching (we saw several whales, including pairs and mother-calf combinations. A baby whale even came right up next to the boat). Then we experienced rafting on a military boat that holds 18 people (it was thrilling with a sense of speed, including moments where we sped towards the coastal cliffs and made U-turns at the last second). Lastly, we went snorkeling (we saw beautiful corals and small fish, and the water clarity was high).

There are three attractions: whale watching, rafting, and snorkeling, and any one of them is worth participating in. Some elderly participants chose not to snorkel.

My rating is primarily due to the poor weather, but the content of the attractions was thoroughly satisfying.

Around 5 PM, we left the harbor and watched the sunset over the ocean. There were about four to five boats offshore. The wind was a bit strong, and the waves crashed violently against the Sheraton Hotel's pier. Feeling a little cold, I tightened my wetsuit up to my neck. I wanted to swim with dolphins and was looking into various tours, but I hesitated because I was scared of floating in deep water with just a life jacket and snorkel. That's when I found this tour! With this option, I could keep my feet on the ground the whole time, which made me feel safe, and I could definitely interact with the dolphins, so I decided right away! They also took a lot of photos, and although there was an extra charge, I think it was great to have those moments of interacting with the dolphins captured in pictures.

After reading experiences about the smartphone tour and knowing it was a boat departing from Keauhou Bay, I thought it would be perfect for me since I easily get seasick and feel cold, so I made a reservation. However, on February 16, the day I made the reservation, I received an email via VELTRA at 9 AM notifying me that the tour was canceled due to bad weather. The message stated that I would receive a full refund, and there was a link below for rescheduling the reservation.

I quickly made a reservation for the following day, February 17, and soon received a confirmation reply through VELTRA. However, the next day, there were zero manta rays. When disembarking, I was told, "The office opens at 8 AM tomorrow, so please call." But the next day, I had a tour with Kona Brewing where I would be drinking, so I couldn't drive afterward, and I had to return home the following day.

In a bind, I sent a question email to the VELTRA representative who had sent me the cancellation email, but I received no reply. I had seen too many experiences on VELTRA and mistakenly thought that if I didn't see manta rays, I could try again anytime, similar to other tours. However, for this tour, the information about being able to retry within seven days if I didn't see manta rays only appeared if I opened the "View Details" section on my smartphone.

VELTRAさんでツアーの体験談をいろいろ見すぎてしまったことで、マンタが見られなかった場合は、またいつでも挑戦可能という他のツアーの体験談と勘違いしてしまい、このツアーも再挑戦はいつでもOKなのだと思い込んでしまっていました。
このツアーは、スマホだと〔詳細を見る〕というところを開けないとマンタが見れなかった場合７日以内に再挑戦可能という文面が現れません。
（Q&Aにも、マンタに会えなかった場合のことが書いてありましたが、気づくのが遅かった…）
ガイドさんは、下船時に再挑戦に際しての詳しい話もされていたのかもしれませんが、英語が堪能ではないので、理解できず。
自分のミスで、仕方ないことですが、マンタが見られず、本当に残念です。
次回は、マンタに会えなかった場合は再挑戦がいつでもOKなところを選ぼうと思います。

Snorkelling in the night with manta rays was an awesome experience.
Everything was perfectly organized: Captain and "Mermaids" were professional, nice and helpful.
We did it with our two kids (8 and 11) and they loved it.
Big mantas swam a few cm from us: in many occasions it looked like it was better to keep the breath in order to avoid touching them!!
It was super-fun and safe.
I recommend this activity to everybody!!!!
Big thanks to the crew for the amazing memories we will bring with us forever

I parked my car as collateral, and the reception was inside the house. It seemed to be a popular tour, as there was another boat besides ours. As mentioned in other comments, everything is in English, so it might be more enjoyable if you can speak a little, but even if you don't understand at all, you'll manage. (The captain shares some history with us.) Suddenly, we sped off into the ocean. Since it was my first time, I was desperately hanging on to avoid being thrown off. If you get seasick, medication is a must. The view of the Big Island from the ocean is magnificent. It was the best. It was my first experience with snorkeling. They provided life jackets, which made me feel safe. We encountered sea turtles and rays. I also saw many beautiful fish. We encountered dolphins three times. They played with us, doing twist jumps right in front of us! It was truly fun. The captain gave us snacks on the boat, and they were delicious! Hawaiian chips with green chili flavor. After that, I went around supermarkets looking for them, but unfortunately, they weren't available.

Thanks to this, I had a very enjoyable time. I would love to visit again.

I usually don't get seasick, but I started to feel queasy after floating in the water and looking down at the manta rays for a long time, so I went back up to the boat partway through. I think it's a good idea for those who are prone to motion sickness to take some medication. It gets chilly at night, so I also recommend preparing for the cold.

I would recommend this tour to any friends or acquaintances going to the Big Island!! Captain Daisuke was very friendly, and his love for the dolphins really came through!! For those who are a bit worried about seasickness, I recommend taking motion sickness medication!! I usually don’t get motion sickness, but the rocking of the boat, the waves while swimming, and the tension and excitement completely got to me (laughs). If I get to go to the Big Island again, I will take motion sickness medication and join this tour again!! It was truly the best time!!

After a few failures, I finally got the hang of it and was able to film the dolphins' graceful swimming. It was a lot of fun.

I was very worried about seasickness, but since there was a 99% chance of seeing manta rays, I decided to join this tour. Unfortunately, it seems the waves were high, and we weren't able to see them.

While waiting for the manta rays, I got really seasick, whether on the boat or being rocked in the water... Maybe because of the season, it was very cold while waiting in the water, and I was shivering a lot, so I thought I should have considered the type of swimsuit I wore. (I rented and wore a wetsuit!) Since it was cold, they mentioned bringing items like a bath towel, but it would have been nice to have some information specifically for women in that regard.

Since I couldn't see the manta rays this time, they said I could come back for free next time, so I'm looking forward to it! But I don't know how many years it will be until then (^^;;

The Japanese female staff member was very cheerful and kind, and she was amazing!!! I'm really grateful!☆

船酔いがとても心配でしたが、99%以上の確率ということでしたので、参加したこのツアー。しかし、波が高かったのか、残念ながら見ることができませんでした。
マンタを待っている間は、ボートの上でも水中で波に揺られていても、すごく酔ってしまいました…。時期が時期だったからか、水の中で待っている間は、とても寒くてガクガク震えるくらいでしたので、水着の種類を考えればよかったかなーと思いました。（スウェットスーツはレンタルして着ていました！）寒いので、持ち物にはバスタオルなどは書いてありましたが、女性のためにもそこの部分の記載もあればありがたかったです。
見られなかった分、次回行った時に無料でご案内していただけるそうですので、期待しています！が、何年後になるか分かりません(^^;;

日本人スタッフの女性の方は、とても明るく親切で、最高でした！！！本当に感謝しています☆

The staff and the dolphins were absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend it. My children, aged 6 and 10, were well taken care of by the staff, and they were able to interact with the dolphins without any issues. The kids were able to enjoy it fully, and our whole family was extremely satisfied. Thank you very much. On the way back, we even got to see a whale, which made for a perfect time.

The sunset was also amazing‼️ After arriving at the spot and getting ready, we entered the water~. We saw a manta ray❣️ It was so impressive. I’m glad we got to see it several times.

In January, for night manta diving, you need to prepare for the cold. I think renting a wetsuit is necessary. However, since it's a spring suit, which is short-sleeved and short-legged, those who are sensitive to the cold should definitely wear long sleeves and long pants (rash guard).

I felt colder than I expected. There were two manta rays swimming around. I was happy to see them, but if I could wish for more, I would have liked them to come closer. I wanted to see more of them.

I was glad to receive snacks and water after getting back on the boat, but it was cold, so it would have been even better if we could have had hot drinks.

This was my second Manta experience and I was disappointed not to see a manta. There were a lot of boats out looking, I counted 15 at one time and it was just before dusk. On a previous Manta experience it was later so I wonder if they prefer to feed later when it's completely dark? I felt like I got to the party early and the cool kids showed up after I left. There was no lack of plankton however, so we were amused by the fish that gathered; an entire school under our light. I've gotten used to the 'entertainment' boat staff provides which makes an excursion more fun. This excursion was rather perfunctory. Go out, hop in the water, no manta, ok, go back. Everyone was rather disappointed not to see Mantas, so I'm not sure if that made going back seem rather glum. I realize these are wild creatures but my last excursion (with another company) there were quite a few Manta, like 6-8? It was an incredible experience that I wanted to repeat with my husband and was disappointed.

I had seen it on TV before and really wanted to experience it, and finally, it came true this time. The boat left the harbor and after about 30 minutes, we arrived. As the tension increased, I relaxed by talking with the Japanese female guide and some locals. Then, as it got dark, the main event began. The captain called out and everyone went to the sea.

After waiting for a while, I heard a boy next to me shout, "They've come!" Sure enough, when I looked over, there was a manta ray, and I joined in the cheers. The manta rays were dancing around with incredible energy. There’s no other way to describe it; it was amazing. After a few minutes of screaming, everyone got back on the boat, looking satisfied and chatting for a while.

When I asked the guide, she said it was the best experience she had had recently. Even now, I can vividly recall that wonderful sight. I am grateful to all the staff for this amazing experience.

However, the beautiful sea and sky that unfolded before me quickly blew away my worries.

Fortunately, I encountered dolphins at a reef where they only play when they're in a good mood. It was a wonderful experience. It was truly a playful interaction with the dolphins. They didn't just swim past me; I was surrounded by dozens of dolphins from all sides, even at my feet—it felt like a dream.

I dove three times. Even in the deep sea, I felt no fear when jumping in. I was surprisingly filled with excitement and anticipation.

I was also drawn to the personality of our guide, realizing that there are people who can live such wonderful lives. It made me reflect on the importance of being mindful of everything I choose to engage with. I expressed to my husband, who joined me, that I want to avoid things that harm nature or animals as much as possible. I decided to study nature more and see it up close.

Ah, if only I could swim better…! I definitely want to come back someday.

海に入るのは小学生ぶり。自分が泳げるかどうかも分からない状態で、取り敢えず水着だけ買って参加しました。
ボートに乗る前に、酔い止めを飲み、日焼け止めを塗り、不安を抱えながらも出港。
目の前に広がった美しい海と空に、不安は一気に吹き飛びました。

運良く、イルカさんがご機嫌な時しか遊ばないというリーフでイルカさんに遭遇。
素晴らしい体験をしてきました。
言葉通りイルカさんとの戯れ。群れが自分の周りを通り過ぎるなんてものではなかったです。
前後左右、足元にも数十頭のイルカさんに囲まれて、夢のようでした。
ダイブは3回。深い海でも、飛び込む際の怖さは一切なかったです。自分でもびっくりするくらいワクワクドキドキしかなかった。

ガイドさんの人間性にも惹かれ、こんなにステキな生き方ができる人もいるのだなぁと。
もっと、自分の手に取るもの一つ一つに意思を持たなくてはならないと考えさせられました。
自然を侵すものや、どうぶつへ痛みを与えるもの、なるべく避けて暮らしていきたいなと、まずは自然のことをもっと勉強してみよう、もっと間近に見に行ってみよう、と一緒に参加した主人と話をしました。

ああ、それにしてももっと、泳げたらなぁ…！
いつかまた、かならず戻ってきたいです。
