First off, big thanks to Jeff for being an entertaining and super knowledgeable guide. Great customer service as well. They called us early on in the morning to let us know, to our dismay, that we wouldn’t be able to get up to the summit for our particular trip (due to many weather related circumstances that were out of their control). It was a huge bummer, but like I said, still 100% worth it to attend the abbreviated version of this excursion. I’m more of a street smarts kinda guy if you know what I mean, Jeff made everything so easy to understand and so interesting to everyone attending the trip. He was able to answer every single question we had. I swear the guys a living encyclopedia. Long story short there should be no hesitation on your part to take this once in a lifetime trip. Set aside the funds you need to experience this NO. MATTER. WHAT.

This is my second time (the first time I applied directly).
It's difficult to get there on your own, but we go all the way down to Waipi'o Valley.
The horses are well-trained, and you can enjoy horseback riding with a simple lecture.
(They walk on their own without you having to do anything. Haha.)
Since they are living creatures, they stop along the way to eat grass as they please,
and they also take bathroom breaks while walking (which is another memory).
We even crossed a river. It was swollen from the rain a few hours earlier, but the horses moved forward without hesitation.
They also take commemorative photos for you.

Please enjoy the lush green trees, flowers, and horses of Waipi'o.
If you visit the Big Island, I highly recommend it!

歩きながら大小トイレ（苦笑　それもまた思い出）
川も横断。数時間前の雨で増水していましたが馬も躊躇なく進みます。
記念撮影もしてくれます。

We went to Umauma Falls Zipline last week and had a blast! Although it nearly rained the entire time, the crew were nothing but the best! Always laughing, making us laugh, and allowing us enjoy the amazing beauty of the falls. You have to do the 9-line to get the best experience! Definitely recommend for anyone on the Hilo side!

We participated as a family of four. Our family was the only group on the tour, and we had one female guide with us. After preparing the saddles, we received instructions on how to ride and handle the horses. Everything was in English, but as long as you closely follow the guide's movements, you'll be fine! The handling instructions were just four basic commands: "go," "stop," "right," and "left," so it wasn't difficult.

And finally, we set off! Along the way, we even challenged ourselves to a canter while climbing up the vast ranch towards the mountains, and when we looked back, the stunning view of the Kohala Coast came into sight. It was a wonderful view, and I'm sure you can enjoy a refreshing feeling.

All the horses are well-trained and safe, but each horse has its own personality. The horse I rode seemed to dislike mud and chose to walk on dry ground, even if it meant staying away from the other horses. In contrast, the horse my wife rode seemed to love water and splashed right into the puddles. While we experienced a bit of the difficulty in controlling the horses, it was a fun time. I highly recommend that everyone try this experience!

[Additional Note]
The wind from the mountains felt cold, so even if it's sunny, I think it's better to borrow a jacket. Also, the horses will walk through puddles and muddy areas, so your shoes might get wet or dirty, so it's advisable to borrow boots as well. Both are available for free.

家族4人で参加しました。ツアー参加者は私たち家族のみ。ガイド役の女性が一人付いてくれました。鞍の装着などの準備が整い、次に馬の乗り方や扱い方の説明を受けました。全て英語ですが、ガイドさんの動きをよく見てその通りにすれば大丈夫！　馬の扱い方といっても『進め』『止まれ』『右に』『左に』という４つの基本的な動きの伝え方だけなので難しくありませんでした。
そしていよいよ出発です。途中、駆け足にも挑戦しながら広大な牧場を山の方に向かってどんどん登っていき、振り返るとコハラコーストの絶景が目に飛び込んできました。素晴らしい眺めです。爽快な気分が味わえるはずです。
どの馬もよく調教されていて危なくはありませんが、各々の馬に個性があります。私が乗った馬は「ぬかるみ」が嫌いらしく、他の馬から離れてでも乾いたところを選んで歩きました。と思えば妻が乗った馬は水に入るのが好きなようで水たまりにジャブジャブと入ります。思い通りに動かす難しさを少々味わいながらも楽しい時間でした。皆さんもぜひ体験してください！

【追記】
山からの風は冷たく感じましたので晴れていてもジャケットは借りたほうがいいと思います。また、水たまりやぬかるんだところを馬が進みます。靴が濡れたり汚れたりすることもあるかもしれませんのでブーツも借りたほうがいいと思います。いずれも無料でお借りできます。

We enjoyed it a lot. We wish we had gone earlier in our trip so we would’ve had the opportunity to build other activities around what we saw on this trip. James runs this business on his own and he does a lot of research and individualizes each trip to the current conditions of the atmosphere and weather. The photos he took of us were amazing. I could see couples booking this for engagement, honeymoon or anniversary photos. The star gazing was the highlight. We see stars from our house very well but it doesn’t even compare to the clarity of the sky at that altitude. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

Let me start off by saying I had a pretty low expectation for the meals when I saw they were included. The food was really great—chef made lunch and delicious beef ribs at dinner. I’m still dreaming about them. That alone provides so much value for the price.

Now, onto the tour—Keith was an amazing tour guide! He started off by learning and continually speaking to each of us individually by name. He had the greatest stories at AND between each tour stop. We really enjoyed the tour from start to finish and almost forgot how long of a day it was! And for the stargazing, we lucked out with a beautiful clear sky and Keith was knowledgeable about not only the stars we were seeing, but so much beyond that!

This is one of the few zip lines that can be participated in by preschoolers. There were courses where children can slide alone and courses for tandem sliding. I think even beginners can participate with peace of mind. There was also one Japanese staff member present.

子供一人で滑れるコースと、タンデムで滑るコースがありました。初心者でも安心して参加できると思います。

On December 30, we participated as a family of four. Two of us are children aged 9 and 11.
It was almost our first time riding horses, but the horses were well-trained, so we had no worries.
We took a walk in the valley floor of Waipi'o Valley, swaying on the backs of the horses. It was a place filled with rich water and greenery, exuding tranquility.

For your reference:
- We traveled to and from the valley floor by 4WD from the meeting point. This took quite a bit of time. The approximate schedule was: gather at 1:30 PM, move to the valley floor, start horseback riding at 2:15 PM, finish riding at 3:45 PM, and disperse at the meeting point at 4:15 PM.
- We were the only Japanese participants; everyone else was from the mainland United States.
- We planned to rent a car to get to the meeting point, but when we tried to make a reservation at the hotel after arriving on the Big Island, we were told there were no rental cars available until January 3.
We had no choice but to use a round-trip taxi, which cost over $400 from Kailua-Kona. We should have reserved a rental car from Japan.

・私たちはレンタカーを借りて集合場所まで行くつもりでしたが、ハワイ島へ着いてからホテルで予約しようとしたら、1月3日までハワイ島ではレンタカーが1台もないと言われました。
仕方なく往復タクシーを使い、カイルア・コナから400ドル強かかりました。
レンタカーは日本から予約して行くべきでした。

Super friendly staff and we had a wonderful time! Would recommend to anyone and everyone and would definitely go back when I have the chance! Despite the fact that it was raining the day we went (which actually made the experience more exhilarating, as the rain made us go even faster than normal) , the views were still incredible. The staff was patient and their energy made the experience more fun for everyone. By the end of the zipline I was ready to do it all over again!

The horseback riding in the jungle at the bottom of the valley, which would be very difficult for us to visit on our own, was amazing. The horses were all very gentle and listened well. There were plenty of wild fruits, and we splashed around in the river, making it a unique and enjoyable horseback riding experience.

自分たちではとても訪れるのは大変だろうという谷底のジャングルでの乗馬は最高でした。

This is THE zipline tour you want!!

If you're planning on ziplining, or have any remote interest in it, do this tour it's so worth it! I had never been ziplining before, and I'm glad this was my first experience. It was a decently long excursion and had 9 separate lines which all offered unique and breathtaking views. Each line felt different, and our guides even taught us how to do tricks like going upside down. You start with tandem lines so you're going with a buddy, plus the guides are great at keeping everyone calm. Our zipline guides Scot, Ian, Maccai (sorry for any misspelling) really kept the party going. Literally, they brought radios with them and danced with us. Honestly they were as entertaining as the ziplining. They even prepared some fresh guava and citrus for us (which tasted AMAZING). We asked them for some local grub recommendations which were all great. Overall amazing experience!

As an aside, the property is so beautiful that alone is worth the money- take some time to walk around and stroll through the gardens after your tour. I also bought the video from them at the end, totally worth. Thanks for keeping us safe and showing us a fantastic time guys!

Highly recommend this excursion. Great way to see the entire island from lava rock to waterfalls to Japanese gardens to a lave tube cave, it was all amazing. But the best part is the stargazing on Mauna Kea. Its like nothing you have experienced before. To see the sky in this way was simply inspirational. James from Epic Tours gave us a amazing tour and having pictures taken all along the way was the icing on the cake. Definitely a must do on the Big Island.

I participated in the morning session.
If you have a rental car with navigation, you can easily find the reception area.
I attended in November, but it got hot while riding, so water is essential.
If you can't get supplies at a supermarket, I recommend buying water at the shop at the reception area, which also sells it.
(I also recommend using the restroom here.)
You can borrow a helmet, but you can also bring your own hat.

Before riding, the English guide explained the basic movements.
Since it was in English, there were parts I didn't understand, but they explained the important points using some Japanese words as well.
During the ride, there were guides at the front and back of the line to lead the horses, so the horses rarely strayed off the course.
(I almost went off course because I miscommunicated with my horse...)
There were times when the horse didn't respond to the "stop" signal, but the guide stopped us when it was dangerous, so it was fine.

It was fun to take pictures while riding in the great outdoors and to hear explanations about the plants from the guide.
It was quite amusing to see the horse walking through the water.
(I recommend wearing pants that you don't mind getting dirty.)

It was my first time riding a horse, but I was able to do it safely, making it a very good experience.

If you understand English, you would grasp the explanations about handling the horse better, which would reduce any anxiety about riding, and you would also understand the explanations about the plants during the ride more clearly, making it even more interesting.
For those who are anxious, the Japanese plan might be a better option.

午前の部に参加しました。
受付場所は、ナビつきのレンタカーなら難なく辿り着けます。
11月の参加でしたが、馬に乗っている間に暑くなったので、水は必須です。
スーパーなどで調達できなければ、受付場所の売店にも販売があったので買うことをお勧めします。
(ここでトイレを済ませておくこともお勧めします。)
ヘルメットは借りれますが、自前で帽子を持っていくこともできます。

乗馬前に、英語ガイドさんから基本的な動作について説明がありました。
英語なので分からないところもありますが、重要なところは日本語の単語も交えて説明してもらえました。
乗馬中は列の先頭と最後尾にガイドさんがいて馬を誘導してくれるので、馬がコースを外れることはほぼありませんでした。
(私は馬へのサインを間違えてしまったので外れそうになりましたが。。)
"止まれ"のサインを馬がなかなか聞いてくれないこともありましたが、危ないときはガイドさんが止めてくれたので大丈夫でした。

大自然の中、馬に乗りながら写真を撮ることができたり、ガイドさんから生えている植物の説明を聞けたりして楽しかったです。
水の中をじゃぶじゃぶ馬が歩いていくのもなかなか面白いです。
(汚れてもいいズボンで行くといいですよ)

馬に乗るのは初めてでしたが、無事に乗ることができたのでとてもいい経験になりました。

英語が分かったら、馬の扱いの説明がよく分かるので乗馬への不安がもっと少なくなったと思いますし、乗馬中の植物の説明などもよく分かってもっと面白いだろうなと思います。
不安な方は日本語のプランのほうがいいかもしれません。

我在計畫大島旅行前，從網站搜尋到其他人的分享，其中有許多人推薦從www.hawaiiactivies.com訂購行程，在大島的第一天抬頭看見星星已經吸引了我，我決定找一個可以看星星的行程。我們不打算租車，因此以有接送的行程為優先考量，11/08 我們試著在網上訂 Big island Twilight Volcano Tour & Stargazing with Dinner 的行程，這個行程包含接送,午晚餐!另外的優惠就是在行程後發文分享，可以有一位的50%退款反回! 當我們試著在網上訂這個行程，因為沒有找到小孩的訂購選項，而直接打電話由Ms. Nunia 協助，她在跟技術 部門溝通也確定多恩的年紀可以參加後，她打電話回覆我們，協助我們訂購2大一小(3Y5M) 的全日遊，謝謝她的幫助！第一次與這個公司交涉留下很好的印象!
11/10 我們的司機Chris 準時來接我們，在去接第二組客人時，他為我們講解沿路火山與海灘的景色，他是在這出生有少部分夏威夷原住民的血統，能遇到當地長大的居民做為我們的導遊，真是幸運！他從開始到行程結束始終掛著笑容為我們服務!
第一站是Kona 咖啡園: 在這裡我們繞了一圈咖啡園,可惜的是因為是周末,只有兩個烘培機器運轉著,途中還看見了Lava Tube,就是熔岩管,它是熔岩洞的一種,從這開始了對火山的認識。在這裡有各式免費咖啡的試飲,我試了Kona coffee medium roast 與有夏威夷豆口味所混合夏威夷咖啡,各有不同的風味!Chris 為我們在桌上準備了午餐,是亞洲式午餐有日本紫薯,魚片,雞肉與白飯,配上Kona的各式果汁! 是亞洲人喜歡的口味!
第二站到了黑沙灘看海龜:Chris 雖然不能保證是否看到海龜,一下車往海灘的方向,但我們非常期待,拉著兒子的小手往沙灘前進,踩在黑沙灘上是很特別的經驗,黑沙灘的沙是冷卻的岩漿經過風力與海水沖刷而成的,沙的顆粒很小摸起來很舒服,不過一會兒就看見一隻烏龜在沙灘上休息著,大家太过興奮靠近時,被在沙灘上的救生員喊ˇ著說”請給烏龜足夠的空間"! 在這地方有標示牌請大家給他們至少30ft 的空間,不可餵食也不可觸摸!在這片黑沙灘上是開著荷花的池塘,和諧地與海邊的景色共存著,非常美麗的景色.雖然只看見一隻海龜,還是非常值得.
第三站: 一連串的火山探險之旅,首先來到火山國家公園,Chris 分享著他在前幾個夜間所拍的照片,火紅的岩漿從洞口發出,非常驚人的景色,目前能見到的是火山停止噴發後不斷地發出的煙,這時候已經來到熱帶雨林區,天氣涼爽許多,再加上小雨落下,景色非常的特別,從海邊到山上,溫度驟降,但是貼心的Chris為大家準備了外套與雨衣,不需要擔心沒有帶外套,唯一的建議是要穿包腳的鞋子!
再來去看了crater lookout, steam vests,sea Arch 還有Chains of Craters Road.分別是火山口,蒸氣口,海邊拱門,最後在僅存的舊道路上欣賞熔岩經過的歷史痕跡! 如此接近因火山活動而產生變化的自然奇景,是來到大島時一定要參加的行程! 當我們站在舊有的道路上轉身往後一看在高處則是近期因火山活動留下的黑色的痕跡,在這Chris 找出各式不一樣型態的殘留物,仔細講解著,真的是更認識了大島!
第四站:在最後一站觀星之前,我們到了Lava Cafe享用晚餐,當魚補獲的魚排餐,牛仔骨分別配上土豆尼與白飯,兒子吃的是炒粉,免費的飲料,大家都吃得很飽! 估計是全車的亞洲客人而特別預備的餐點,接著到了Mauna Kea State Park 觀星,
一下車就已經能清楚看見滿天的星斗,透過Chris 架設的高倍望遠鏡看到了火星,邱比特星跟月球.同行有人看見了流星!
我真心推薦大家參加這個行程,不論你是一個人,兩人或親子行,都能享受從行程中帶來的樂趣與各樣的驚喜!

Amazing adventurous experience viewing much of the Big Island treasures!

What an amazing experience!!  Not only are you able to see the beauty in a fun adventurous manner but there is time and places to capture pictures in between some of the ziplines. The views are stunning and you’ll see waterfalls, rainforest, the ocean and so much more. The staff does a great job of getting everyone to open up and have a great time. They take the time to give you tips on how to do things so you get the most out of your experience. You are sure to laugh the entire time! It was great to also see so many kids on our tour who had an amazing time!
There is a little store before you start where you can get some things like souvenirs, treats, and bug spray.  If you go on a rainy day I would note you could get some mud onto yourself but it is minimal. It may also be helpful to consider the equipment when dressing.  Many on our tour thought it would be cooler because of the rain to start but the equipment keeps you a bit warm so many had rain coats they didn’t want. They do have some video and picture packages you are able to purchase of your tour and I recommend waiting to purchase these extras until the end of your tour to see if you like them.  If you go with the GoPro camera option then you will want that ahead of time.

Tour guides were really experienced, friendly and we felt absolutely safe during the entire tour. If I were ever in Big Island, would definitely book the same tour.

The meeting place is at the souvenir shop, which also sells drinks, snacks, and ice cream. You can also use the clean restrooms. However, the helmet smelled, so I wore it over my hat. It was no problem at all not speaking English, and there was plenty of time for horseback riding. I was very satisfied as I could see the waterfall.

我在計畫大島旅行前，從網站搜尋到其他人的分享，其中有許多人推薦從www.hawaiiactivies.com訂購行程，在大島的第一天抬頭看見星星已經吸引了我，我決定找一個可以看星星的行程。我們不打算租車，因此以有接送的行程為優先考量，11/08 我們試著在網上訂 Big island Twilight Volcano Tour & Stargazing with Dinner 的行程，這個行程包含接送,午晚餐!另外的優惠就是在行程後發文分享，可以有一位的50%退款反回! 當我們試著在網上訂這個行程，因為沒有找到小孩的訂購選項，而直接打電話由Ms. Nunia 協助，她在跟技術 部門溝通也確定多恩的年紀可以參加後，她打電話回覆我們，協助我們訂購2大一小(3Y5M) 的全日遊，謝謝她的幫助！第一次與這個公司交涉留下很好的印象!
11/10 我們的司機Chris 準時來接我們，在去接第二組客人時，他為我們講解沿路火山與海灘的景色，他是在這出生有少部分夏威夷原住民的血統，能遇到當地長大的居民做為我們的導遊，真是幸運！他從開始到行程結束始終掛著笑容為我們服務!
第一站是Kona 咖啡園: 在這裡我們繞了一圈咖啡園,可惜的是因為是周末,只有兩個烘培機器運轉著,途中還看見了Lava Tube,就是熔岩管,它是熔岩洞的一種,從這開始了對火山的認識。在這裡有各式免費咖啡的試飲,我試了Kona coffee medium roast 與有夏威夷豆口味所混合夏威夷咖啡,各有不同的風味!Chris 為我們在桌上準備了午餐,是亞洲式午餐有日本紫薯,魚片,雞肉與白飯,配上Kona的各式果汁! 是亞洲人喜歡的口味!
第二站到了黑沙灘看海龜:Chris 雖然不能保證是否看到海龜,一下車往海灘的方向,但我們非常期待,拉著兒子的小手往沙灘前進,踩在黑沙灘上是很特別的經驗,黑沙灘的沙是冷卻的岩漿經過風力與海水沖刷而成的,沙的顆粒很小摸起來很舒服,不過一會兒就看見一隻烏龜在沙灘上休息著,大家太过興奮靠近時,被在沙灘上的救生員喊ˇ著說”請給烏龜足夠的空間"! 在這地方有標示牌請大家給他們至少30ft 的空間,不可餵食也不可觸摸!在這片黑沙灘上是開著荷花的池塘,和諧地與海邊的景色共存著,非常美麗的景色.雖然只看見一隻海龜,還是非常值得.
第三站: 一連串的火山探險之旅,首先來到火山國家公園,Chris 分享著他在前幾個夜間所拍的照片,火紅的岩漿從洞口發出,非常驚人的景色,目前能見到的是火山停止噴發後不斷地發出的煙,這時候已經來到熱帶雨林區,天氣涼爽許多,再加上小雨落下,景色非常的特別,從海邊到山上,溫度驟降,但是貼心的Chris為大家準備了外套與雨衣,不需要擔心沒有帶外套,唯一的建議是要穿包腳的鞋子!
再來去看了crater lookout, steam vests,sea Arch 還有Chains of Craters Road.分別是火山口,蒸氣口,海邊拱門,最後在僅存的舊道路上欣賞熔岩經過的歷史痕跡! 如此接近因火山活動而產生變化的自然奇景,是來到大島時一定要參加的行程! 當我們站在舊有的道路上轉身往後一看在高處則是近期因火山活動留下的黑色的痕跡,在這Chris 找出各式不一樣型態的殘留物,仔細講解著,真的是更認識了大島!
第四站:在最後一站觀星之前,我們到了Lava Cafe享用晚餐,當魚補獲的魚排餐,牛仔骨分別配上土豆尼與白飯,兒子吃的是炒粉,免費的飲料,大家都吃得很飽! 估計是全車的亞洲客人而特別預備的餐點,接著到了Mauna Kea State Park 觀星,
一下車就已經能清楚看見滿天的星斗,透過Chris 架設的高倍望遠鏡看到了火星,邱比特星跟月球.同行有人看見了流星!
我真心推薦大家參加這個行程,不論你是一個人,兩人或親子行,都能享受從行程中帶來的樂趣與各樣的驚喜!

This was the greatest experience ever! Our tour guide Justin was very knowledgeable and informative with every guests questions and the history of the island. We first drove to Mauna Kea Park and the weather was just perfect! Clear skies and a beautiful breeze. Once we arrived to the Volcano National Park, it was so nice to see the park reopened again. Beautiful scenery and but what took the cake was the private lava tube that only this activity provider has access to which definitely makes up for the fact that Thurston Lava Tube is still closed. The lava tube was breathtaking and the deeper you go in, the more treasure you unveil. THIS IS A MUST DO!!!

It was my first time in Waipi'o Valley, and it was also my first time horseback riding. The guide spoke only in English, but they used simple language, so I had a great time. I was able to slowly enjoy the valley's scenery from horseback, which is something you can't experience at hotels or beaches. It was so much fun!

ワイピオ渓谷も初めてなら、乗馬も初めてでした。
英語のみのガイドでしたが、簡単な英語を使ってくれたので、楽しく過ごせました。
ホテルやビーチでは体験できない渓谷の景観を、馬上からゆっくり楽しめました。
楽しかったです！

Despite the unfortunate weather with light rain, I was initially worried about the tour, but they provided us with rain gear, and the two hours flew by. I enjoyed the mystical Waipi'o Valley horseback riding!

I was happy that the guide chose horses that seemed to match well with each individual. Since I participated with six friends, it became a wonderful memory!

あいにくのお天気で小雨が降る中のツアーとなり最初は不安でしたが、雨具も貸していただき、あっという間の2時間。神秘的なワイピオ渓谷乗馬を楽しめました！

ガイドさんが個々に相性の良さそうな馬を選んでくれたのが嬉しかったです。友人6人で参加したので、とてもいい思い出になりました！
