Fortunately, all the participants were Japanese, so the Japanese guide provided detailed explanations and took beautiful photos. I was able to enjoy Mauna Kea, which I had wanted to visit once in a lifetime. The weather was bad on the ground, and I was worried, but as the guide said, once we got above the clouds, the new moon allowed us to see the stars clearly, and the wind was gentle, making for a comfortable tour without needing to wear pants.

The only disappointing thing was that I was told the snacks for a member who couldn't participate due to health issues were lost somewhere, so we couldn't hand them out.

幸運にも全員日本人参加者だった為、日本語ガイドさんが、詳しく説明してくれ、写真も綺麗に撮ってくれた。一生に一度行きたかった、マウナ・ケアを堪能できました。地上は天気が悪く、心配してましたがガイドさんのいう通り、雲の上に出れば新月で星も良く見えて、風も弱かったので、ズボンを履かないで快適なツアーでした。
一つだけ残念だったのは、体調不良で参加できなかったメンバーの軽食がどこかで無くなったのでお渡し出来ないと言われたのが残念です。

This was a great hike with our guide Jennifer. She adjusted it to match my kids’ level of interest. She was well prepared with all the supplies including backpacks, snacks, rain gear and jackets. On our visit we got sun and rain and sun and rain. My kids’ were tired so we cut our hike short but it was just enough to have great introduction to the park, and the plants and history around it.

I had a great time horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch on Oahu, so I decided to try it again this time. Kualoa is quite touristy, and I felt comfortable using their services even though I don't understand English, but there was no one who spoke Japanese here, which made me a bit anxious and dizzy on the horse. However, the staff were enthusiastic and warm, so I was able to get through safely.

The horses are smart, so I mostly just had to sit there, but going downhill was a bit scary, and I tensed up, resulting in knee pain by the end. During the ride, we were told to put our water and phones in a special bag for safety. Also, since the wind was chilly, it was necessary to wear something over our clothes. I participated in a windbreaker, long pants, and sneakers.

It seemed that wearing a helmet was at my own risk, but I borrowed one. Hats can get blown away by the wind, startling both me and the horse, so wearing a helmet was the right choice. This time, I couldn't fully enjoy the magnificent scenery due to my nervousness and not understanding the instructions, but I definitely want to participate again. The photos taken by the staff along the way were wonderful and became great memories.

クアロアは観光化されていて英語がわからなくても安心して利用できましたが、こちらは日本語が話せる方はいなかったので不安のあまり馬の上でくらくらしました。しかしスタッフの方が熱心で温かくフォローしてくださったのでなんとか安全に過ごすことができました。
馬が賢いのでほとんど乗っているだけで大丈夫でしたが、下りは少し怖くて力が入り、終了時は膝が痛かったです。
乗馬時は危険防止のため、水と携帯は専用のバッグにいれるように言われました。また、風がつめたいので、羽織るものも必要です。ウインドブレーカーに長ズボン、スニーカーで参加しました。
ヘルメットは自己責任らしかったでが、私はお借りしました。帽子は風で飛ばされて自分も馬もおどろくので、ヘルメットで正解でした。今回は説明がわからず、緊張したため雄大な景色を堪能できませんでしたが、もう一度ぜひ参加したいです。途中でスタッフの方が撮ってくださった写真は素晴らしく、とてもよい思い出になりました。

OMG not even sure how to translate to words the experience on this tour

everything went smooth since the pick up, the tour guide assigned to us has so much knowledge about the culture, and the places.

you get a meal which is delicious to start the day, the the views from the sunset never in my life had experience something like that

then the cherry on top the stars, this was a life experience like never before you can see even the space station crusing the skies.

do not hesitate on talking this tour you wont regret it

In late May, I participated in a sunset and stargazing tour at the summit of Mauna Kea, which was an incredibly valuable experience. Since there were many Japanese participants, our perfect bilingual guide, Sue, navigated in Japanese.

The local information that isn't found in guidebooks, the mysterious and magnificent scenery along the way, the unexpected cold despite being in a tropical location (and the warmth of the borrowed jackets), the delicious sandwiches we had at the summit, the breathtaking sunset, the ever-changing colors of the sky and clouds, the opening of the observatory and the start of the observations, and the view of the star-filled sky and constellations—all of these were truly wonderful and exceeded my expectations, providing a surprising and moving experience.

During the stargazing, when Sue pointed out the constellations and we were all gazing at them, a huge shooting star passed by, and everyone cheered together. That became an unforgettable memory.

Thank you so much, Sue (Stephan). The photos you took with professional skill are a wonderful record, and I am grateful.

５月下旬、マウナケア山頂サンセットと星空観測ツアーに参加し、大変貴重な体験をさせてもらいました。
日本人参加者が多い回だったので、完璧なバイリンガルガイドのスーさんが、日本語でナビゲートしてくださいました。

At first, I told my son, "There aren't as many stars as I thought," but as it got completely dark, the sky was filled with stars! The guides were very animated and well versed with history. My husband was so impressed with the Honda machinery. We even saw wild pigs which was a favorite impromptu thing that happened. Well organized and seemed very safe. We got dustier than I expected but that was me being naive. Follow their instruction on what to bring and no worries. You will get dirty. We didn't get muddy but maybe if it was wetter we would have. We loved it and highly recommend this group.

This was amazing! From our pick up point in Kona, our guide Kailikea (hope I spelled this right) was fantastic. He was so passionate about the trip and his home town it was so engaging. He's such a helpful, friendly and knowledgeable chap. I didn't expect to learn so much, but it was just the right level. 'Kea was clear about what to expect from the altitude and how to best manage it. We were lucky enough to see the Silversword plants by the visitor centre and then enjoyed our meal, included in the tour; veggie lasagne and chocolate brownie. It was a mixed journey up to the summit with some paved and some very bumpy roads but so worth the trip. We learned all about the different dishes and observatories and watched the beautiful sunset from the summit. We had to head lower for stargazing to avoid polluting the light by the observatories. We were awestruck by how many stars you could see, it was stunning. The powerful telescopes were set up and we were shown the visible planets and constellations/asterisms. Viewing the Edna carina nebula through the telescope was an incredible experience. I would 100% recommend this tour!

Tour was excellent, Aaron was a great host. Very informed, engaging. Had fun all along the way. We had plenty of time at all the stops to experience and enjoy. Made our 1st trip here an experience to remember. We are telling everyone if they come to the Island they need to take this tour.

In addition when we 1st booked, we were told that our location was around 90 minutes from the tour pickup. We chose to go ahead but very much appreciated the help and advice. Excellent service all around.

Ive always had a fear of horses but this activity helped get over my fear. The ladies were absolutely amazing in teaching us how to ride the horses and giving us a good laugh while on the ride. This activity gives you a different view of the land surrounding the waterfall. A must do when visiting for sure!

If you’re looking for a fun and not so hot time this is the perfect activity. The area where this is held is fresh and vibrant and does a good job in showing out the land. Being able to run wild in a ATV is great and a good way to get dirty and ready for a swim at the falls! Early is the best as it can get packed later on and you’ll get the waterfall all to yourself. They provide drinks and snacks for you and the crew is a very cheerful and knowledgeable bunch that give you tips on how to enjoy your time in the island!

Standing at the summit of Mauna Kea at an altitude of 4,200 meters, I was able to wait for the sunset without any discomfort thanks to proper altitude acclimatization. The sight of the sun setting between the various observatories from around the world was magnificent. During the stargazing, the explanations about the seasons and constellations were very clear and refreshing. The sandwiches for dinner and the hot chocolate were also very delicious.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. We booked this fantastic tour short notice and I'm so grateful there were a few time slots still available that worked with out schedule for us.

Our guide, James, is truly an expert astronomer and has a fantastic personality. To see first hand some of the astronomical wonders we've heard about and seen in books or online was breathtaking.

I would absolutely recommend the Mauna Kea Stargazing Tour Experience as a must do when on the Big Island. In fact, I would do it again because what you see one night will be different on another night!

Crew was fun and personable. They had good stories to tell. Awesome scenery. Beautiful day with rain showers. Bumpy ride. Be prepared to get wet and dirty. The dust goes thru clothes! But they will blow it off you after the tour if you want and provide wet clothes to clean your face. We saw unbranded cows, mongoose and wild pigs. Wish it was longer and slower to enjoy the scenery, but I was a passenger and not the driver lol!

12000 acres of beauty. The guides are super nice funny and allow you to trot or chill how you please. Not a boring nose to tail ride it was fun to go fast a few times and let the horses do their thing while seeing all the other animals. Definitely bring a jacket (or they have some), close toed shoes and jeans super cold and windy up there. Loved it!

I was disappointed that I couldn't fulfill my dream of coming to the Big Island, but I was happy to see the "Silversword" (Argyroxiphium sandwicense) near the visitor center, thanks to the staff's guidance. I hope to have the opportunity to visit the summit of Mauna Kea again.

Wonderful experiences with great hospitality

I joined the tour with my wife, and we were a bit nervous as we worried about altitude sickness before we joined. However, we did not need to worry too much. The guide was so professional, and he made us relax in the large van of Mercedes-Benz. In addition, the distributed dinner, hot lasagna and chocolate cake helped us get adjusted in the rest area before we were elevated to the summit. In astronomical observation, I was able to see two shooting stars. I strongly recommend this amazing tour if you come to the big island.

My first horseback riding experience was very satisfying. Unfortunately, it was drizzling, and the water dripping from the borrowed raincoat soaked my pants, but I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

There were two families from the mainland, with a total of 10 participants, and two instructors leading us. The well-trained horses sometimes didn't listen and grazed freely, and at times they picked up speed, which was a bit troublesome. However, looking back, it was all part of the charm and became a topic of conversation for family bonding.

初めての乗馬体験。とても満足なものでした。あいにくの小雨で、お借りしたレインコートから、したたる水で、パンツが濡れるほどでしたが、余りある風景を堪能させていただきました。
本土からの２組のご家族と、10名の参加者に2人のインストラクターさんが引率。慣れた馬達は、いう事を聞かずに、自由に草をはんだり、時には速足になったりで、困る事もありました。おわつてみれば、それもご愛嬌で、家族の団らんの話題になりました。

Best thing we did in Hawaii!

The tour guide was inviting and very knowledgeable. The food was actually quite decent. The views of the sunset from the top were sensational, and it was near seeing all the giant telescopes.

But the highlight for me by far was the stargazing after sunset. It was only 80% visibility and the moon was quite bright but I've never seen so many stars so clearly in my life. It was really a sight to behold. Maka (the tour guide) brought a telescope with him and we saw a number of cool things close up, such as a globular cluster, a star in portions
Orions belt, Venus, and the Moon.

Fernando was a great guide for our tour! We really enjoyed his commentaries and learned a lot from this trip. The sunset was amazing. The night sky was impressive, but cold. Bring winter clothes and layers if you can! They do provide a very warm parka. The dinner was yummy. Highly recommended!

Kohala Canopy Zipline Adventure on the Big Island - Aerial Sky Bridges and Optional Waterfall Swim

It was a wonderful time. Great hosts and a fun Zipline course near a iconic Hawaiian small town. They prioritized safety first, and then fun!
