I signed up to enjoy the sunset and stargazing from the mountaintop. Since we traveled by car, it was easy to head to the summit, but in reality, reaching an altitude of 4,200 meters involved a 20-minute journey on a gravel road, along with battling the invisible threat of altitude sickness, which was quite the challenge! After enduring headaches and slight breathlessness, a breathtaking view awaited us at the top!

Fortunately, we were blessed with good weather and were able to enjoy the most beautiful sunset and a sky full of stars, making it a perfect 120-point tour experience! Lastly, I experienced mild altitude sickness for the first time, but I found that listening to the staff's advice helped alleviate the symptoms. However, I recommend not overexerting yourself and moving around too much.

We were blessed with great weather and were able to see a sunset like no other.

Just after the sun set, the weather seemed to turn bad, and it looked like we wouldn't be able to do any stargazing. However, thanks to the guides who didn't give up and persevered, we were able to see a beautiful starry sky! It definitely ranks among the top three starry skies I've seen in various places.

ビジターセンターで体を高地に慣らした後、車で山頂を目指すのですが、眼下に広がる雲海、そしてマウナロアの大きさに驚きます。山頂では各国の天文台を見た後に、本番の夕陽鑑賞です。たくさんの観光客がいる場所から少々離れた静かな場所で、沈みゆく夕陽を見ました。地上で見る以上の雄大な夕陽でした。その後、若干下った場所で星空観測。３６０度に広がる空に天の川をはじめ、様々な星座、北極星に土星など、地上では見えない星がはっきりと見えました。
ツアーガイドの方が行き帰りともに、パーフェクトなガイド、写真もたくさんとって頂き、快適に過ごさせて頂きました。
