Amazing kayak and snorkel

We went as a family of four with two girls, 10 and 8,neither of whom had ever snorkelled. (but both had kayaked). We did the afternoon tour and were really lucky to see the spinner dolphins on the way to and from the snorkeling. The ethos of the tour was amazing. Once spotted, we stopped paddling and let them come to us, no chasing, no interference and Deanna and her colleague (sorry, forgot his name), clearly care so much about the reef and local wildlife, very much respecting it and observing rather than chasing it down. Once on the reef they showed us local plants, and got all our goggles ready for snorkeling. As my kids hadn't snorkelled before they were botha bit scared, but Deanna was super helpful, and got in with them. Once they looked down they were off, and didn't want to come in. Snacks and drinks were provided, as was a history of the Captain Cook monument. Would highly highly recommend.... No guarantees you will get dolphins, but incredibly safe and clear snorkeling, best I have seen and clearly run by people who care most about maintaining the reef and wildlife for future generations.

We are family of four and did two tandem kayaks, guides were great and friendly. Also very knowledgeable with safety first in mind. Loved the snorkeling part once got to our tie off spot. I would definitely recommend booking with these guys.

When I checked the meeting place on Google Maps, it ended up being along H1, so I confirmed it at the hotel front desk and headed there cautiously. First, we drove to check the parking and location, and in the end, we walked from the Sheraton where we were staying to Keauhou Bay. It was about the size of a private beach, and we could easily reach it from the opposite side.

It was our first time kayaking, and as expected, we didn't make much progress at first, but the weather was really nice that day, and we were able to reach the cave safely! As mentioned in other comments, it's better to have sandals that won't come off or trekking shoes. Depending on the weather, there may be times when you can't reach the land, so it's best to bring them just in case. We only had beach sandals, but the guide said, "They float in water, so if you drop them, you can just pick them up, so it's not a problem."

I recommend getting a waterproof disposable camera sold on-site, as it allows you to take photos without worry. Also, my husband only got sunburned on the inside of his feet. It's best to be fully prepared for sun protection.

あと、主人は足の内側だけ焼けてました。日焼け対策は万全にしておいたほうが良いです。

King Kayak Hawaii - Keauhou Bay Kayaking & Snorkeling Tour

Perfect day on the sea.

My husband and I had a great time snorkeling and kayaking with Kevin. He was very patient with us and is a wealth of knowledge about the Big Island and its history. We even saw dolphins, though I don't think that's guaranteed.

I highly recommend this tour and would book it again if I go back!

Great way to spend a morning on the big island

If you like kayaking and snorkeling, this is a great trip! The tour guide was very informative and actually took pictures for everyone on the trip. It was a smaller size group which was perfect for this kind of excursion. The snorkeling stops were great. The only thing is it is hard to get on and off kayaks when on the water! I fell off once when trying to take off my shorts. I want to do this one again when I go back.

We challenged ourselves to kayaking for the first time as a group of four, and it was great to set off in a tandem kayak. However, it felt like we had to paddle hard to avoid being pushed back by the waves, so I'm glad we weren't in single kayaks. One person did get seasick and had to take a break at the snorkeling point, and after that, they had to give up halfway! Everyone, don't forget to take motion sickness medication! Even though I took it beforehand, if you're not feeling well, please don't push yourself.

Short, I'll blame it on the hurricane

It was a very short trip and we only saw 1 cave and a very small one. The guide was great, however due to the approaching hurricane he said that it was not save going further. I'm not an expert on weather, but the waters/wind did not change for the entire time we were there. If I would've known what it was going to be, I would've prefer they had cancelled the trip and we would have either planned for another day or received our refund.

Devon was great, informative, fun, and adventurous. The caves and snorkeling were amazing. The remote location was fantastic, Devon added to the trip with his exciting and friendly personality teaching us about the land formations, the sea, and Hawaiian folklore. A must see, will be booking again next year with Devon for my whole family.

So much fun!

The guides were lovely and we saw dolphins! It could not have been more fun. We went as a family with my 60-year old parents and my 7-year old son. All had fun. There was snorkeling in a lovely cove, along with cliff diving and fresh pineapple. The only thing I wished I'd known was that we don't actually take the boats on shore for picnic time. My mom wasn't wanting to swim so ended up hanging out in the kayak. She still had fun watching the dolphins and cliff diving, though. I highly recommend the experience.

My family visits the Hawaiian islands every summer and we've been on many tours. This particular event was very personalized and was one of the best we've been on over the years. The guide was very personable, he took us off track when dolphins showed up so we could snorkel near them. It was clear the guide was thoroughly enjoying himself, which made the trip enjoyable for all who were there. The guide even gave up his own shoes to a person who didn't bring a pair. Highly recommend this trip!

Kevin and Noni at King Kayak did a fabulous job of getting us out on the water. We had a group of four, ranging from 10 to 80 years old, and they kept the trip interesting, and low-impact. We got to see some spinner dolpins, enter a sea cave, snorkel in a pristine location, and jump off of cliffs into the crystal-blue waters of the bay. They took photos of us free of charge. It was a great adventure for all!

A fantastic adventure! We rowed down the coast--explored and rolled into a couple of caves. Snorkeling and cliff jumping into clear waters--everything we could ask for. Our guide-(Kayla)-sorry--I know that's wrong---was great. Good instructions on kayaking basics---knowledgable about the area---she knew her stuff. My wife and I--both 50-ish--were blown away. We would highly recommend this trip and this company. Thanks for a great day!

Absolutely fantastic. Our two guides were extremely knowledgeable about the Island and told us things that you would only get on a tour. The kayaking was a blast and we had visibility to 100 feet. We went kayaking into a sea cave and were also able to snorkel there as well. We saw many fish, urchins, and even an eel in a tidal pond that our guide took us to. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to cross off their bucket list, kayaking across the bay/ocean, seeing ancient tombs, and being face to face with God's wonderful creation of the Island. It was such an amazing experience, my husband and I decided to buy a kayak, at some point. The guides were also awesome and they told us some history, as well as helped us found objects that we dropped out of they kayak. One guide actually found my husbands wedding ring that fell off his hand when he jumped off one of the cliffs. It was truly amazing and such a fun time with the group!

Kayaking with Kevin (owner and our guide that day) was a lot of fun! Kev was very nice and friendly. He did a quick briefing on how to use the kayak and the paddles. And we were on our way exploring bay after bay and caves after caves. There were plenty of locations to snorkel. Kev took great photos, too! He brought us fresh tropical fruits for our snack and they tasted soooo good, especially after the snorkeling and paddling! King Kayak Hawaii is definitely the company to book this adventure with! We loved the day out. Our guide was super friendly, informative and easy going. He handled the group of non english speakers with us really well. And he gave us great local info. We kayaked, snorkeled, cliff dove, snorkeled again, ate and it didn't feel rushed at all. Had an intense moment staring into the clear blue water while snorkeling - most memorable moments of my trip. Our group took the morning tour and it was great to have the place to ourselves for a fair amount of time. The snorkeling was best before all the other boats arrived. The kayaking was fun and not too difficult. We had two people in our group that had never kayaked before and they enjoyed themselves.

Sea kayaking and nothing else

We were looking forward to this as the best part of our vacation, but we're very disappointed. We arrived at the dock area, and out guide told us it might be a little cold and windy out but that it would not affect our tour of we still wanted to go out. We decided to go, and kayaked a mile and a half through very choppy waters. Exhausted by the time we reached the sea caves, our guide turns to us and tells us it is too rough to do any other part of the tour and we have to turn back. We ate the snacks they had packed and paddled back. No refund offered and no one let us know before hand that we would not get to do half the tour. The guide was very nice, but there should be some sort of refund policy if only a partial refund....
