This was my first time boarding the "Catamaran" with my wife and our 25-year-old daughter. To put it mildly, it was "the best." Every time I walk along Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, which I have visited many times, I would see the "Mai Tai Catamaran" but would pass by without paying much attention. When a friend who is well-versed in Hawaii asked me, "Have you ever been on the Catamaran?" and I replied, "I know about it, but I haven't," he exclaimed, "What are you doing in Hawaii? You can't start your Hawaii experience without riding the Catamaran! It would be pointless to go to Hawaii!" I thought he was being a bit dramatic, but his enthusiasm piqued my interest, and I attempted to board once, but that year (2019, before the pandemic), it was fully booked every day. I resolved that the next time I went to Hawaii, I would definitely ride the Catamaran, and I made my reservation around the same time I booked my flight tickets.

On the day of my reservation in early August 2022, we went to the check-in area on the beach in front of the Sheraton at the designated time, confirmed our reservation with the voucher, and then walked barefoot along the shoreline to board the "Catamaran," being careful not to bring sand onto the boat. Two capable crew members skillfully prepared for departure, and as the boat smoothly pulled away from the beach and floated into the sea, an extraordinary feeling and excitement washed over me. I understood what my friend meant. The Catamaran proceeded slowly offshore, paying attention to the surfers near the beach, and after a while, it raised its sails and picked up speed. I was moved by the view of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the ocean, a perspective I had never seen before. The crew announced that drinks were ready, and we toasted as a family on board. The blue sea, blue sky, the scent of Hawaii, the sound of the ocean breeze, upbeat background music, and the sound of the sails fluttering all combined to create an indescribably exquisite moment that my vocabulary cannot capture.

After a while, we were delighted to see dolphins playing alongside the Catamaran. As the sun approached the horizon, I felt a twinge of regret as the boat drew closer to the beach. The cruise ended as we returned to Waikiki Beach around sunset. If I have the opportunity to go to Hawaii again, I will definitely board the Catamaran. 今回初めて、私、妻、25歳の娘の家族３名で「カタマラン号」に乗船しました。控えめに申し上げても「最高」でした。幾度となく訪れているハワイ、ワイキキビーチを散歩するたび毎回のように見掛けていた「マイタイ・カタマラン号」、あまり気も留めずに船の前を素通りしていました。ハワイ通の友人から「カタマラン号に乗った事ある？」と尋ねられ「知っているけど無い」と答えると、「何しにハワイに行ってるの！カタマラン号に乗らないとハワイは始まらないよ！ハワイに行った意味がないよ！」と友人、まぁまぁ大袈裟な話と思っていましたが、やけに熱く語っていたのが気になり一度乗船を試みるのですが、その年(コロナ禍前の2019年)は連日予約完売で乗船出来ずでした。次回ハワイに行く事ができれば、絶対にカタマラン号に乗る！と決意し、今回は航空券の予約とほぼ同時期に予約をしました。

2022年8月上旬予約当日、集合時刻にシェラトン前のビーチにある受付に行き
バウチャーで予約確認、その後、砂浜に乗り上げた形で留っている「カタマラン号」へ裸足で波打ち際を歩き船に砂を載せないよう注意深く乗船します。2人の頼もしい操船スタッフが手際よく出航させるのですが、船が砂浜から「すーっ」と離れ船が完全に海に「ふわー」と浮いた瞬間から非日常的な感覚とワクワク感が襲ってきます。これがハワイ通の友人が言っていた事なのかと納得。カタマラ号はビーチ付近のサーファー達に気を配りながらゆっくりと沖合へ進み、しばらくすると帆を上げスピードアップ、ワイキキの街並みやダイヤモンドヘッドを今まで見ていた逆の目線、海からの景色に感動します。操船スタッフからドリンクが用意できていますとアナウンス、そして船上で家族で乾杯。青色の海、青色の空、ハワイの香り、潮風の音、アップテンポなBGM、帆がなびく音、それぞれが相まって私の語彙力では表現出来ない何とも言えない極上の時間です。
暫くするとイルカ達がカタマラン号と一緒に遊ぶ姿を見せてくれました。
太陽が水平線近づき、次第に船が沖合からビーチが近くになるのが残念に思えます。サンセット、日没と同時ぐらいにワイキキビーチへ戻りカタマラン号のクルーズは終わりとなります。次回またハワイに行く事が出来れば必ずカタマラン号に乗船します。

A must do! This was the highlight of our family trip to Hawaii. The crew was amazing and the weather was perfect. We were able to see so many turtles up close it was awesome!

I signed up for a 150m course at the request of my 13-year-old niece. I was initially worried since it was about the height of a five-story building, but the wind was stable, so it wasn't as scary as I thought. The view was, of course, amazing! The guide made jokes and interacted with us, making the time on the boat enjoyable. You can fly while holding a selfie stick.

I thought the meeting place was a bit hard to find, but they sent a Google Maps link in the final instructions, so I was able to arrive without getting lost.

It's a unique experience, and I'm glad I did it! Highly recommended!

13歳の姪っ子の希望で150mのコースを申し込みました。ビルの5階くらいの高さということで最初は不安でしたが、風が安定していたのもあり思ったより怖くなかったです。景色はもちろん最高！！ガイドさんは冗談言って絡んできて、船の上も楽しめました。自撮り棒を持って飛べます。

集合場所が分かりづらいなと思っていましたが、最終案内にGoogle mapのリンクを送ってきてくれたので、迷うことなく到着できました。

なかなかできない経験だし、やって良かったです！オススメ！

If you’re thinking about doing this cruise, don’t think about it, just do it!!! We had such amazing time and their hospitality was off the charts! They went above and beyond! The views were awesome and to top it off, you can bring your own food and drinks!

The Captain was Knowledgeable, the views were outstanding. The Sashimi II was very accomodating, Great fun for all ages. We didn't catch anything, but we made some great memories!

Great drinks, great views, great company. We absolutely loved it. Lasting memories were made. 10/10 would go again and would recommend.

It was awesome experience!But ladies room is not clean and stinky and lock is broken, and different selections in alcohol which they advised in their website.

After three years, I participated in a sunset cruise on a catamaran in Hawaii. It was so much fun. Seeing Waikiki and Diamond Head from the sea, the sunset, and the sky turning pink afterward was breathtaking. There was a rainbow over Waikiki. We laughed out loud while getting splashed by the waves, and we even started singing together. It was a truly enjoyable time.

Since you might get wet, it's best to wear clothes that can get wet and keep your valuables in a waterproof bag. There was storage available, but there's a chance of getting splashed by the waves.

I definitely plan to participate again on my next trip to Hawaii.

3年ぶりのハワイで
カタマランでのサンセットクルーズに参加しました。
とにかく楽しかった。
海から見るワイキキやダイヤモンドヘッド、
サンセットとそのあとにピンクに染まる空。
ワイキキにかかる虹。
波しぶきを浴びて大笑いしたり、大合唱が始まったり、
とても楽しい時間でした。

濡れる可能性があるので参加には濡れていい服で、
貴重品は防水バッグに入れておくといいですね。
収納場所がありましたが波を受ける可能性もあるので。

次回のハワイでも絶対参加しようと思います。

My friends and I had the most amazing and fun experience with Justin, Jeff, and Sailor Jerry!! We got to see the beautiful island from miles off the coast and into the deep blue waters. The waves were big and exciting, and if you’re in the right spot, you’ll get soaked! The alcohol wasn’t just one big jug of Mai Tai or beers, they had an amazing selection and the best bartenders who made the excursion so special and memorable. I would definitely take this cruise again and again!

I gave my name at the reception and waited for about 30 minutes. After that, we boarded and set off.

You can basically leave your luggage on the ship, so there are no issues.

At first, they said, "I'll take your photo for $40," and I asked them to take some memories for me. There was a bit of backlighting, but there were many good photos. The backlighting added a nice touch. I was satisfied because they took a lot of pictures for me.

The parasailing was explained in English, so I was a bit anxious, but I left it to the staff and just went along with it. It went really high and felt great. At the end, they dipped my toes in the sea, which was playful and nice. I didn't get too wet, and my face didn't get wet either.

荷物は基本的に船に置いとけるので問題はなし。

写真は最初『40＄で撮ってあげるよ』と言われ、思い出にお願いしました。
少し逆光が多めでしたが(笑)、いい写真もたくさんありました。逆光もいい味が出てました(笑)。
たくさん者を撮っていただいたので満足です。

パラセーリングも英語での説明だったので少し不安でしたが、スタッフに任せて、されるがままスタートしました。とても高く上がり気持ちよかったです。最後に足先を海につけられたり、遊び心があり良かったです。
大きく濡れたり顔が濡れることもないです。

We have been on at least five catamarans that offer Sunset Sails,and Holokai is our favorite. The Captain is super accommodating with an amazing bartender who manages to stay balanced serving drinks! We will be back in October for another awesome sailing adventure!

The experience itself was very good! However, the wait time was too long, and in the heat, we couldn't buy any drinks, which was unfortunate for the children.

体験自体は大変良かった！ですが、待ち時間が長すぎて、暑い中飲み物も買えず、子どもがかわいそうでした。

That was our first time Snorkeling and it was great. The crew was very nice and professional. All needed gear was provided and in very good condition. Drinks got served after Snorkeling. And yes we did see alot of Turtles.

It was great to have a view of Waikiki! It became a wonderful memory. However, the wait was long, and I struggled with seasickness. I purchased the photo service for $40, but my face was all dark and not visible.

The entire crew made us feel safe, well taken care of and worked hard to ensure we had a memorable visit! I will be coming back again this September and will be bringing my family.

I arrived about 7 or 8 minutes late from the pickup time, but I think it's understandable given the traffic conditions. The driver helped us with our luggage, which was very helpful. There was plenty of space in the larger vehicle since there were about four groups, including us. We first stopped at Terminal 1 for Hawaiian Airlines and then at Terminal 2 for Japan Airlines. Since we had a little extra time, we were able to head to check-in and security without feeling rushed. Thank you very much.

ピックアップ時間から7、8分遅れて到着でしたが、交通事情などもあるので仕方ないかなと思います。
ドライバーさんが荷物を乗せるのを手伝ってくださり助かりました。
大きめの車に私たちを含めて4組くらいだったので、余裕がありました。最初はハワイアン航空などのターミナル1で停まり、その後に日本航空などのターミナル2に停まりました。
時間も少し余裕があったので、チェックインや保安検査に焦ることなく向かうことができました。

I was nervous about my first parasailing experience, but it was really fun! I floated in the air longer than I expected, and the view was amazing!

初めてのパラセーリングでドキドキでしたが、すごく面白かったです( ＾ω＾ )
思ってたより長く空に浮かんでいて、景色も最高でした！！

There was a kiosk right outside the arrival gate, and I was able to check in by giving my name. Since there was also a Japanese staff member, I felt reassured.
I waited for a bit on a nearby bench, and then got into the car. They helped me with putting my suitcase in, and since we were going to several hotels, I was able to head to the hotel comfortably even with a lot of luggage.

到着口から出たところにキオスクがあり、名前を伝えるとチェックインできました。日本人のスタッフさんもいらっしゃったので、安心できると思います。
近くのベンチで少し待ち、そこから車に乗り込みました。スーツケースを入れるのを手伝っていただき、あとは何件かホテルを回っていく流れだったので、荷物が多くても安心してホテルまで向かうことができました。

Awesome experience. The captain and first mate were very patient, and communicated well. Took care to make sure everyone was safe. Took awesome pictures as well.

The parking lot right next to the Hilton is easy to find as the check-in location! After about a 10-minute boat ride, we arrived at the sailing point. Tethered to the parachute, we were off into the sky! The wind felt amazing! You can see the horizon stretching far away, and it's great to have a panoramic view of Waikiki and Honolulu! It was such a pleasant experience, and I felt fantastic!

My first sunset cruising!
I participated with excitement.
Sailing with both Japanese and foreigners is also a lot of fun.
The view of Diamond Head from the venue is absolutely stunning.
The sunset is beautiful, and it's definitely worth participating in!!

わくわくしながらの参加でした。
日本人、外国人入り交じってのセイリングもまた楽しいものです。
会場から眺めるダイヤモンドヘッドは、また最高の眺めですね。

It was very scary and very fun! Before boarding, the dolphins welcomed us, and my daughter was very satisfied. I recommend filming during the ride. I will challenge myself again. Since check-in is hot, let's choose a good time. It's a 7-minute walk from the Hilton Hotel. I'm also satisfied with the price. From the Sheraton, it's by taxi.

It was more expensive and amazing than what we did in Okinawa before. Since the flights are for two people at a time, there were some who got seasick while waiting on the boat.

以前沖縄でやったのより高くてすごかったです。2人ずつのフライトなので、ボートでの待ち時間に船酔いした人がいました。

Arrived 5 minutes late, but it was almost on time. Unfortunately, it was fully booked, so the three of us had to sit separately. I was a bit surprised to see people sitting next to strangers and some without masks during this time; there seems to be a bit of a relaxation in caution! This isn't the tour company's responsibility, but they did store our luggage neatly on the shelves in the vehicle, which was reassuring.

あいにくの満席で3人利用でバラバラに座る事になりました、この時期に知らない人の隣やマスク無しの人も見受けられ少しびっくりしました、気の緩みがどうしてもあるのでしょう！これはツアー会社の責任ではありませんが、

Before the experience, I was so nervous that I even regretted signing up, but once I actually did it, it was incredibly enjoyable and fun! They also give you the photos on an SD card for $40.

The cruise was amazing. The crew was organized and well-practiced. Thry handled the crowd with varying level of comfort and experience and made everyone feel like they got what they wanted out of the trip.

There were 7 Japanese people (I was just watching from the boat), 4 foreigners, and 2 crew members. The other Japanese people were severely seasick and vomited before parasailing. According to my family, this was just the beginning; after parasailing started, it was truly hellish and they couldn't enjoy the scenery at all.

A Japanese man was vomiting in the air. My family was also down for a few hours after disembarking.

But I think the strong wind was the cause. If there hadn't been any wind, there wouldn't have been seasickness, and parasailing would have been fun.

Meeting time: 9:00 AM
Start time: 9:30 AM, but we were made to wait 40 minutes before boarding. During this time, I got completely sunburned.

日本人7人(私は船で見てるだけ)外国人4人クルー2人。
私以外の日本人は船酔いがひどくてパラセーリングの前にゲロゲロ。
うちの家族いわくこれは序の口でパラセーリングが始まってからが本当に地獄で景色どころじゃないらしい。

日本人男性は空中で吐いていた。うちの家族も下船してから数時間ダウンしていた。

でもこれは風が強かったのが原因だと思う。風がなかったら船酔いもなくパラセーリングも楽しかったはず。

集合時間　9時
開始　　　9時30分とかいてあるが乗船までに40分はまたされた。この間にこてんぱんに焼けた。

I loved Hawaiian parasail so much!
I felt like I was flying and also enjoyed the beautiful Waikiki beach and diamond head view.
The staff are all friendly and helpful. They take lots of pictures and download it on your phone after reviewing if you pay a fee. I had a bad experience about photos at a different parasailing company. There were no pictures when I checked the Flash card at home. You will never forget this activity, highly recommend!

I only attended the show without dinner. The staff were all wearing masks, but most of the guests were not, so I made sure to wear my mask and used hand sanitizer before and after the show to minimize risk. I also prepared extra masks just in case, as I was a bit concerned about droplets from the outside.

As a note, as of August 2022, a negative PCR test certificate is required for entry into Japan, so I acted a bit cautiously, but I think it's definitely possible to enjoy the experience if you take the necessary precautions. Of course, I was able to return home safely with a negative test result.

ディナーなしのショーのみに参加しました。
スタッフの皆さんはマスクをしていますが、鑑賞しているお客さんはほとんでどマスクしていないので、リスク回避のためにしっかりマスクして、携帯用の消毒薬でショーの前後で消毒するなどの対策をして楽しみました。マスクも一応外側の飛沫が気になるくらいではあるので、替えを用意しています。
前提として、22年8月時点で日本入国にはPCR陰性証明が必要になるなど、すこし注意深く行動しましたが、対策をとっていれば十分楽しめると思います。
勿論、検査結果陰性で無事帰国できています。
